  • How to correctly migrate urls from custom asp.net solution to Wordpress?

    I have a web site built using asp.net with ugly URLs like /DisplayContent.aspx?id=789564. I know how to migrate the database, but the Wordpress urls will be (naturally) different. Can I simply write some mapping or do I have to include a rewrite rule for each subpage (300 pages) in .htaccess? Should I provide a rewrite rule for each existing page that would transform a full old url to the known new url, like for example: /DisplayContent.aspx?id=789798 -> /2010-5-10/Title-Of-The-Post Even if I manage to migrate the URLs, the structure of the HTML for the new content will naturally be different. How does this affect SEO? Should I run asp.net and wordpress side by side and issue the redirects from the asp.net application? What is the most efficient solution to this kind of migration of URLs without doing PHP programming?

    Hi all! I generate *.hbm.xml mapping files and *.java file from the DB schema, with Hibernate tools. My question is, that is there any option, to generate service classes also? These are the classes where I implement the store(), find(), delete(), etc... methods. I know that for C# there are many solutions to generate almost everything.     I'm attempting to use a double to represent a bit of a dual-value type in a database that must sometimes accept two values, and sometimes accept only one (int). So the field is a float in the database, and in my C# code, it is a double (since mapping it via EF makes it a double for some reason... ) So basically what I want to do .. let's say 2.5 is the value. I want to separate that out into 2, and 5. Is there any implicit way to go about this?

  • Loading multiple embedded flash apps onto an HTML page- problem with ordering

    We need to load an embedded version of a site written in Flash, and not originally designed to load multiple instances of itself, on a HTML page. The specific issue is how to get them to load in order when embedded, given that they are all being opened by the same instance of the flash player. It's a complicated mapping application, and at the moment, the maps and data get intermixed as the session variables are overwritten by another instance starting to load before the previous one has finished. We need a way to have them load sequentially, one finishing before another starts to load. The most we can specify in the URL is an &order=1 or similar. We have PHP and SQL on the backend. Edit: The embedded versions are being loaded in an iFrame of a parent site. One php file loads one swf, as many times as the parent site desires.

    I'd like to store emails in a separate table and allow users to save multiple emails and log in with any of them. I'd also like to store passwords in a different table. How can I configure Devise to store authentication info elsewhere? Worst case scenario, if I just have to hack into it, is there a generator to just port everything over to the app? I noticed there was a generator for the views. Thanks.

  • I know I'm doing something wrong with RaiseCanExecuteChanged and CanExecute

    Well after fiddling with MVVM light to get my button to enable and disable when I want it to... I sort of mashed things together until it worked. However, I just know I'm doing something wrong here. I have RaiseCanExecuteChanged and CanExecute in the same area being called. Surely this is not how it's done?     suppose I have a dictionary whose keys are strings. How can I efficiently make a new dictionary from that which contains only the keys present in some list? for example: # a dictionary mapping strings to stuff mydict = {'quux': ..., 'bar': ..., 'foo': ...} # list of keys to be selected from mydict keys_to_select = ['foo', 'bar', ...] The way I came up with is: filtered_mydict = [mydict[k] for k in mydict.keys() \ if k in keys_to_select] but I think this is highly inefficient because: (1) it requires enumerating the keys with keys(), (2) it requires looking up k in keys_to_select each time. at least one of these can be avoided, I would think. any ideas? I can use scipy/numpy too if needed.

Is what I'm trying to achieve possible with SQLAlchemy? Is there a better way to structure the database to get the same behaviour of "dynamic columns"?

    Hello I am trying to make a list of things which can be difficult/surprising to someone who is changing language from PHP to Python. so far i have rather short list: forget require / include, learn import (this was most difficult to me - to understand package - module - class - object hierarchy and its mapping to filesystem) you can't just upload file on server to have webpage (-mod_python, wsgi etc) learn the python way for use variable class names (new $class() vs import + getattr) / operator in python 2.x and all float-related horrors those were difficult to me, it takes few days before mind adapts a new paradigm after i found that there is few other areas which could be challenging for someone with (too) many years of php: everything is an object you have to live with exceptions array vs list, set, dictionary, tuple ... learn (effective) list comprehensions learn generators any other ideas / personal experiences ?

    I am having one GtkVbox and I am adding it to GtkViewPort. View port is created from Glade file. Now the problem is that my vbox keeps updating on every second (I keep adding widgets to vbox on every second) this vbox but my screen did not get updated as add widgets to my vbox. I can't create new vbox every time as I need to keep previously added widgets in vbox. How can I tell GtkViewPort to refresh list when I add new widgets to my GtkVBox?

    At some places in my code, I print debug messages like this: int ret = getLinkSpeed(device.getSysName(), linkSpeed); if (ret < 0) { logDebug("Failed to obtain port speed for this device. Error: " + std::string(strerror(errno))); } From the documentation it is not entirely clear if strerror will return 0 under certain conditions (which would cause my code to crash). Does anyone know if it's safe?

  • Embedding script with timeout in case server goes down

    I need a way to make sure my script won't block the viewed page, if the server serving the script is down (port 80 is blocked for some reason). Currently when I test it and take down the server (Apache), or close the firewall, I see in the browser that it is trying to load the resource (script in that case), without success for long seconds, until it aborts. Is there a nice way to get past this issue?

I checked below simulators, but seems there are not sufficient for me: Simplescalar: A simulator only for single core. SESC: multiprocessor simulator with detailed power, thermal, and performance models, QSim: provides instruction-level control of the emulated environment and detailed information about the executing instruction stream. It seems both SESC and QSim supports instructions scheduling instead of thread scheduling on the cores? Anyone can help provide some clues or share experience for this part?
