    Ok so i'm executing the following line of code in javascript RegExp('(http:\/\/t.co\/)[a-zA-Z0-9\-\.]{8}').exec(tcont); where tcont is equal to some string like 'Test tweet to http://t.co/GXmaUyNL' (the content of a tweet obtained by jquery). However it is returning, in the case above for example, 'http://t.co/GXmaUyNL,http://t.co/'. This is frustracting because I want the url without the bit on the end - after and including the comma. Any ideas why this is appearing? Thanks

  • Render as html from a remote link on Rails

    On my registration form i want to show a modal (of twitter-bootstrap) when the user has a successfull signup to tell him to check his email so i put "remote: true" on my form and render a .js.erb wich shows the modal, on my controller. BUT, in case of inputs errors i need to render the page as html to refresh de form showing those errors. Can I call the controller from the remote form as JS but render as html? (or any other idea to do what i want) Thanks!

    I'm using GWT 1.6. I am creating a panel that contains a Button and a Label, which I then add to a FlexTable as one of its cells. The Button is not receiving any Click events. I see that the table supports determining which Cell is clicked on, but in this case, I want the Mouse events to propagate to the various widgets inside the cell. Any idea on how to do that?

    I need a javascript to replace i into I. This should apply to cases such as i'm good. So am i. He though i love him. The standard ThisContent = ThisContent.replace("i", "I"); doesn't work because it replaces every i. I also thought of ThisContent = ThisContent.replace(" i ", " I "); but it doesn't work for the first and second case. Any idea?

    I'm refactoring some client-server code and it uses the terms Response, Result & Reply for the same thing (an answer from the server). And although its not really that important it's become hard to guess which word to use while writing new code, so I'd like to unify the three terms into one and do the appropriate refactoring, but I'm not sure which word is the "best", if there is such a thing. Any suggestions based on precedence and standards towards naming for this case?

    i was learning about c++ pointers... so the "-" operator seemed strange to me... instead of ptr-hello(); one could write (*ptr).hello(); because it also seems to work, so i thought the former is just a more convenient way is that the case or is there any difference?

    Is it possible to set a default behaviour for custom (non-native) methods/functions in Java? For example, I would like to change the default "Function" to do a System.out.println("message") whenever called. So, when a custom method/function is being created: public String testMethod() { //custom code } it should execute the newly added default behaviour (in this case the system output), before the custom code is run. Even if this would be a bad excercise, is it possible? Maybe by extending the function class or something?

    Hi, I having few questions about typed in ANSI C: 1. what's the difference between "\x" in the beginning of a char to 0x in the beginning of char (or in any other case for this matter). AFAIK, they both means that this is hexadecimal.. so what's the difference. when casting char to (unsigned), not (unsigned char) - what does it mean? why (unsigned)'\xFF' != 0xFF? Thanks!

However, there's an auto generated PK column (ID), and I need the ID for each newly created filename without performing a 2nd query. Is this possible? I guess it doesn't matter if the result is/isn't XML, but the input certainly has to be.

When running test case for Myproject its loading config.xml of abc.jar instead of Myproject test/resources. - I need to know order in which maven pick resources. - Or wat im trying is not possible.     I doubt if this is encryption but I can't find a better phrase. I need to pass a long query string like this: http://test.com/test.php?key=[some_very_loooooooooooooooooooooooong_query_string] The query string contains NO sensitive information so I'm not really concerned about security in this case. It's just...well, too long and ugly. Is there a library function that can let me encode/encrypt/compress the query string into something similar to the result of a md5() (similar as in, always a 32 character string), but decode/decrypt/decompress-able?
