  • Form data sent to Node via Post is undefined

    - by user185812
    I know this has been asked countless times on here, however I tried all the solutions and am still having the issue. Most people say to set the content-type (which I did) and to name the inputs that I wish to Post to node. I have done both of these things, yet still get "undefined" when trying to send data from an HTML form to node. JADE Templating HTML Code (Sorry I can't seem to get the indenting to show up here, however I think I should leave the code intact when posting here instead of converting it to normal HTML so that if the error is in here, you are still able to help) Form(action="/registration", method="post", enctype="application/x-www-form-urlencoded") div(class="control-group-Username") label(class="control-group", for="username") Username: div.controls input#Username(id="Username", type="text", placeholder="Username Here", maxlength="23", name="username") //Other divs and stuff here button.btn#submit_button(type="submit") Submit app.js code /** * Module dependencies. */ express = require('express') , routes = require('./routes') , user = require('./routes/user') , http = require('http') , path = require('path'); app = express(); // all environments app.set('port', process.env.PORT || 3000); app.set('views', __dirname + '/views'); app.set('view engine','jade'); app.use(express.favicon()); app.use(express.logger('dev')); app.use(express.bodyParser()); app.use(express.methodOverride()); app.use(express.cookieParser('your secret here')); app.use(express.session()); app.use(app.router); app.use(require('less-middleware')({ src: __dirname + '/public' })); app.use(express.static(path.join(__dirname, 'public'))); // development only if ('development' == app.get('env')) { app.use(express.errorHandler()); } app.use(express.static(__dirname + '/public')); app.get('/', routes.index); app.get('/users', user.list); app.get('/register', routes.register); http.createServer(app).listen(app.get('port'), function(){ console.log('Express server listening on port ' + app.get('port')); }); require('./Register.js'); register.js code app.post('/registration', function(req, res) { var Email=req.body.username console.log(username); });

  • jquerymobile conflict with autocomplete : $this.attr("href") is undefined

    - by sweets-BlingBling

  • More GCC link time issues: undefined reference to main

    - by vikramtheone
    Hi Guys, I'm writing software for a Cortex-A8 processor and I have to write some ARM assembly code to access specific registers. I'm making use of the gnu compilers and related tool chains, these tools are installed on the processor board(Freescale i.MX515) with Ubuntu. I make a connection to it from my host PC(Windows) using WinSCP and the PuTTY terminal. As usual I started with a simple C project having main.c and functions.s. I compile the main.c using GCC, assemble the functions.s using as and link the generated object files using once again GCC, but I get strange errors during this process. An important finding - Meanwhile, I found out that my assembly code may have some issues because when I individually assemble it using the command as -o functions.o functions.s and try running the generated functions.o using ./functions.o command, the bash shell is failing to recognize this file as an executable(on pressing tab functions.o is not getting selected/PuTTY is not highlighting the file). Can anyone suggest whats happening here? Are there any specific options I have to send, to GCC during the linking process? The errors I see are strange and beyond my understanding, I don't understand to what the GCC is referring. I'm pasting here the contents of main.c, functions.s, the Makefile and the list of errors. Help, please!!! • Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'length' of undefined

    - by AnApprentice
    I'm working to built a contact list that is grouped by the first letter of the contact's last name. After a succesfull ajax request, the contact is pushed to addContact: Ajax success: ko.utils.arrayForEach(dataJS.contactList, function(c) { contactsModel.addContact(c); }); contactsModel.addContact: //add a contact in the right spot under the right letter contactsModel.addContact = function(newContact) { //grab first character var firstLetter = (newContact.lname || "").charAt(0).toUpperCase(); //if it is a number use # if (!isNaN(firstLetter)) { firstLetter = "#"; } //do we already have entries for this letter if (!this.letterIndex[firstLetter]) { //new object to track this letter's contacts var letterContacts = { letter: firstLetter, contacts: ko.observableArray([]) }; this.letterIndex[firstLetter] = letterContacts; //easy access to it //put the numbers at the end if (firstLetter === "#") { this.contactsByLetter.push(letterContacts); } else { //add the letter in the right spot for (var i = 0, lettersLength = this.contactsByLetter().length; i < lettersLength; i++) { var letter = this.contactsByLetter()[i].letter; if (letter === "#" || firstLetter < letter) { break; } } this.contactsByLetter.splice(i, 0, letterContacts); } } var contacts = this.letterIndex[firstLetter].contacts; //now we have a letter to add our contact to, but need to add it in the right spot var newContactName = newContact.lname + " " + newContact.fname; for (var j = 0, contactsLength = contacts().length; j < contactsLength; j++) { var contactName = contacts()[j].lName + " " + contacts()[j].fName; if (newContactName < contactName) { break; } } //add the contact at the right index contacts.splice(j, 0, newContact); }.bind(contactsModel); The contacts json object from the server looks like this: { "total_pages": 10, "page": page, "contactList": [{ "photo": "http://homepage.mac.com/millhouse/Family%20Tree/images/PersonListIcon.png", "lname": "Bond", "id": 241, "fname": "James", "email": "[email protected]"}, While this works in jsfiddle, when I try it locally, I get the following error during the first push to addContact: Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'length' of undefined jQuery.jQuery.extend._Deferred.deferred.resolveWithjquery-1.5.1.js:869 donejquery-1.5.1.js:6591 jQuery.ajaxTransport.send.callbackjquery-1.5.1.js:7382 Ideas? • jQuery AJAX POST gives undefined index

    - by Sebastian
    My eventinfo.php is giving the following output: <br /> <b>Notice</b>: Undefined index: club in <b>/homepages/19/d361310357/htdocs/guestvibe/wp-content/themes/yasmin/guestvibe/eventinfo.php</b> on line <b>11</b><br /> [] HTML (index.php): <select name="club" class="dropdown" id="club"> <?php getClubs(); ?> </select> jQuery (index.php): <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function() { $.ajax({ type: "POST", url: "http://www.guestvibe.com/wp-content/themes/yasmin/guestvibe/eventinfo.php", data: $('#club').serialize(), success: function(data) { $('#rightbox_inside').html('<h2>' + $('#club').val() + '<span style="font-size: 14px"> (' + data[0].day + ')</h2><hr><p><b>Entry:</b> ' + data[0].entry + '</p><p><b>Queue jump:</b> ' + data[0].queuejump + '</p><br><p><i>Guestlist closes at ' + data[0].closing + '</i></p>'); }, dataType: "json" }); }); $('#club').change(function(event) { $.ajax({ type: "POST", url: "http://www.guestvibe.com/wp-content/themes/yasmin/guestvibe/eventinfo.php", data: $(this).serialize(), success: function(data) { $('#rightbox_inside').hide().html('<h2>' + $('#club').val() + '<span style="font-size: 14px"> (' + data[0].day + ')</h2><hr><p><b>Entry:</b> ' + data[0].entry + '</p><p><b>Queue jump:</b> ' + data[0].queuejump + '</p><br><p><i>Guestlist closes at ' + data[0].closing + '</i></p>').fadeIn('500'); }, dataType: "json" }); }); </script> I can run alerts from the jQuery, so it is active. I've copied this as is from an old version of the website, but I've changed the file structure (through to move to WordPress) so I suspect the variables might not even be reaching eventinfo.php in the first place... index.php is in wp-content/themes/cambridge and eventinfo.php is in wp-content/themes/yasmin/guestvibe but I've tried to avoid structuring issues by referencing the URL in full. Any ideas?

  • jQuery Validation Plugin: Packer undefined error?

    - by Rosarch
    I'm using the jQuery validation plugin from bassistance.de. It works fine. From <head>: <script type="text/javascript" src="/static/JQuery.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="/static/js-lib/jquery.validate.pack.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="/static/js-lib/jquery.validate.additional-methods.js"></script> At first, this was the only validation code I had, and it worked: $("form").validate(); $("#form-username").rules("add", { required: true, email: true, }); It was validating this HTML: <form id="form-username-form" action="api/user_of_email" method="get"> <p> <label for="form-username">Email:</label> <input type="text" name="email" id="form-username" /> <input type="submit" value="Submit" id="form-submit" /> </p> </form> Great, everything works. But then I add this JS: $("#form-choose-options input[type='text']").rules("add", { number: true, }); to validate this markup: <form id="form-choose-options" action="api/set_options" method="get"> <p> <label for="form-min-credits">Min credits per term:</label><input type="text" name="min_credits" id="form-min-credits" /> <br /> <label for="form-optimal-credits">Optimal credits per term:</label><input type="text" name="optimal_credits" id="form-optimal-credits" /> <br /> <label for="form-max-credits">Max credits per term:</label><input type="text" name="max_credits" id="form-max-credits" /> <br /> <label for="form-low-GPA">Lowest acceptable GPA:</label><input type="text" name="low_GPA" id="form-low-GPA" /> <br /> <label for="form-high-GPA">Highest realistic GPA:</label><input type="text" name="high_GPA" id="form-high-GPA" /> <br /> <input type="hidden" class="user-pk" name="pk"/> <input type="submit" value="Submit" /> </p> </form> This causes a javascript error on document load: $.data(f.form, "validator") is undefined The error is from the packer function. What am I doing wrong?

    I'm getting this error when i try to create a "Lecture" via my Lecture controller's create method. This used to work but i went on to work on other parts of the app & then of course i come back & something is now throwing this error when a user tries to create a Lecture in my app. I'm sure its something small i'm just overlooking (been at it a while & probably need to take a break)...but I'd appreciate if someone could let me know why this is happening...let me know if i need to post anything else...thx! • Undefined template methods trick ?

    - by Matthieu M.
    A colleague of mine told me about a little piece of design he has used with his team that sent my mind boiling. It's a kind of traits class that they can specialize in an extremely decoupled way. I've had a hard time understanding how it could possibly work, and I am still unsure of the idea I have, so I thought I would ask for help here. We are talking g++ here, specifically the versions 3.4.2 and 4.3.2 (it seems to work with both). The idea is quite simple: 1- Define the interface // interface.h template <class T> struct Interface { void foo(); // the method is not implemented, it could not work if it was }; // // I do not think it is necessary // but they prefer free-standing methods with templates // because of the automatic argument deduction // template <class T> void foo(Interface<T>& interface) { interface.foo(); } 2- Define a class, and in the source file specialize the interface for this class (defining its methods) // special.h class Special {}; // special.cpp #include "interface.h" #include "special.h" // // Note that this specialization is not visible outside of this translation unit // template <> struct Interface<Special> { void foo() { std::cout << "Special" << std::endl; } }; 3- To use, it's simple too: // main.cpp #include "interface.h" class Special; // yes, it only costs a forward declaration // which helps much in term of dependencies int main(int argc, char* argv[]) { Interface<Special> special; foo(special); return 0; }; It's an undefined symbol if no translation unit defined a specialization of Interface for Special. Now, I would have thought this would require the export keyword, which to my knowledge has never been implemented in g++ (and only implemented once in a C++ compiler, with its authors advising anyone not to, given the time and effort it took them). I suspect it's got something to do with the linker resolving the templates methods... Do you have ever met anything like this before ? Does it conform to the standard or do you think it's a fortunate coincidence it works ? I must admit I am quite puzzled by the construct...

  • Clarification needed: How does .NET runtime resolve assembly references from parent folder?

    - by aoven
    I have the following output structure of executables in my solution: %ProgramFiles% | +-[MyAppName] | +-[Client] | | | +-(EXE & several DLL assemblies) | +-[Common] | | | +-[Schema Assemblies] | | | | | +-(several DLL assemblies) | | | +-(several DLL assemblies) | +-[Server] | +-(EXE & several DLL assemblies) Each project in solution references different DLL assemblies, some of which are outputs from other projects in solution, and others are plain 3rd-party assemblies. For example, [Client] EXE might reference an assembly in [Common], which is in a different directory branch. All references have "Copy Local" set to false, to mirror the layout of the files in the final installed application. Now, if I take a look at reference properties in the Visual Studio IDE, I see that "Path" of every reference is absolute and that it corresponds to the actual output location of the assembly. That's understandable and correct. As expected, solution compiles and runs just fine. What I don't understand is, why everything seems to work even when I close the IDE, rename the [MyAppName] directory and run the [Client] EXE manually? How does the runtime find the assemblies if the reference paths aren't the same as they were at the time of linking? To be clear - this is actually exactly what I'm after: a semi-dispersed set of application files that run fine regardless of where the [MyAppName] directory is located or even what it's named. I'd just like to know, how and why this works without any specific path resolution on my part. I've read the answers to this similar question, but I still don't get it. Help much appreciated!

  • How to show "only number" in picture cross-reference in Word 2007 document?

    - by kornelijepetak
    I have many pictures in a document and I reference them very often in text. I don't want to lose the order so I am using Insert - Cross-reference. This opens the cross-reference dialog where I can set Reference type to Picture. For "Insert reference to", there are 5 choices: - Entire caption - Only label and number - Only caption text - Page number - Above/below What I need is a reference that would be inserted like this: [4], and not like this: [Picture 4]; None of these options enable me to do it. Is there any way to make Word 2007 insert a reference to only Caption Number? Note: The document is written in Croatian language which has 7 declension cases, so using "Picture 4" would not be valid in all cases. Actually caption label Picture is set to croatian word "Slika" and when I need to say say "in the picture" I can't because it would be "na Slici 5." and not "na Slika 5." (like Word would make me do). That's why I need to reference only the caption number. Is that possible in Word 2007?

Configuration Intel i5 Mac running OS X 10.6.5 Ruby 1.9.2 installed Rails 3.0.1 installed MySQL Server (finally) installed and running I completely reinstalled MySQL, which deleted the local development/test/production databases. So, I have run create database development; in MySQL to get the dev database ready for a migration. Current Goal Run rake db:migrate to get my databases back again. • rendering a grid from a table: "this.mainBody is undefined"

    - by farhad
    Hello! I have a static html table on a page and i would like to transform it to a grid; so i applied this function after loading the table: function createTable() { // create the grid var grid = new Ext.ux.grid.TableGrid("tabella-colocazioni", { stripeRows: true // stripe alternate rows }); grid.render(); } I got this piece of code from here: http://www.java2s.com/Code/JavaScript/Ext-JS/CreateagridwithfromanexistingunformattedHTMLtable.htm . The result is the error "this.mainBody is undefined on ext-all-debug.js" on FireBug and the grid is empty. The html code of the table is this: <table cellspacing="0" id="tabella-colocazioni"> <thead> <tr style="background:#eeeeee;"> <th>Colocazione</th> <th>Frequenza</th> </tr> </thead> <tbody> <tr> <td>plusquam patria</td> <td>1</td> </tr> <tr> <td>patria pietate</td> <td>1</td> </tr> <tr> <td>Et patria</td> <td>1</td> </tr> <tr> <td>patria prohibet</td> <td>1</td> </tr> <tr> <td>Multos patria</td> <td>1</td> </tr> <tr> <td>patria reddidit</td> <td>1</td> </tr> <tr> <td>patronum patria</td> <td>1</td> </tr> <tr> <td>patria moesta</td> <td>1</td> </tr> </tbody> </table> What is the problem? Thank you very much.

  • WYSIHAT 'resonds_to_parent" undefined method - Ruby on Rails

    - by bgadoci
    I just successfully installed WysiHat in my rails blog. Seems that the 'add a picture' feature is not working. It successfully allows me to find and select a picture from my desktop but upon clicking save, it does nothing. I also have Paperclip successfully installed and can attach images to records outside the WYSIHAT form field. Any ideas? (let me know if I need to post any code). Also, WysiHat-engine uses facebox, not sure if that is relevant. UPDATE: Added Server Log, looks like paperclip is saving it so not sure what else is going wrong. • Identifier is undefined

    - by hawk
    I wrote the following code in C++ using VS2012 Express. void ac_search( uint num_patterns, uint pattern_length, const char *patterns, uint num_records, uint record_length, const char *records, int *matches, Node* trie) { // Irrelevant code omitted. } vector<int> ac_benchmark_search( uint num_patterns, uint pattern_length, const char *patterns, uint num_records, uint record_length, const char *records, double &time) { // Prepare the container for the results vector<int> matches(num_records * num_patterns); Trie T; Node* trie = T.addWord(records, num_records, record_length); // error line ac_search(num_patterns, pattern_length, patterns, num_records, record_length, records, matches.data(), trie); // Irrelevant code omitted. return matches; } I get the error identifier "ac_search" is undefined at the function invoking line. I am a bit confused here. because the function ac_search is declared as a global (not inside any container). Why can't I call it at this place? Am I missing something? Update I tried ignore irrelevant code and then included it gradually and found that everything is fine until I include the outer loop of ac_search I get the aforementioned error. here is updated code of the function ac_search: void ac_cpu_string_search(uint num_patterns, uint pattern_length, const char *patterns, uint num_records, uint record_length, const char *records, int *matches, Node* trie) { // Loop over all records //for (uint record_number = 0; record_number < num_records; ++record_number) //{ // // Loop over all patterns for (uint pattern_number = 0; pattern_number < num_patterns; ++pattern_number) { // Execute string search const char *ptr_record = &records[record_number * record_length]; const char *ptr_match = std::strstr(ptr_record, &patterns[pattern_number * pattern_length]); // If pattern was found, then calculate offset, otherwise result is -1 if (ptr_match) { matches[record_number * num_patterns + pattern_number] = static_cast<int>(std::distance(ptr_record, ptr_match)); } else { matches[record_number * num_patterns + pattern_number] = -1; } // } //} } Update 2 I think the error has something to do with the function addWord which belongs to the class Trie. When I commented out this function, I did not get the error anymore. Node* Trie::addWord(const char *records, uint num_records, uint record_length) { // Loop over all records for (uint record_number = 0; record_number < num_records; ++record_number) { const char *ptr_record = &records[record_number * record_length]; string s = ptr_record; Node* current = root; if ( s.length() == 0 ) { current->setWordMarker(); // an empty word return; } for ( int i = 0; i < s.length(); i++ ) { Node* child = current->findChild(s[i]); if ( child != NULL ) { current = child; } else { Node* tmp = new Node(); tmp->setContent(s[i]); current->appendChild(tmp); current = tmp; } if ( i == s.length() - 1 ) current->setWordMarker(); } return current; } void ac_search( uint num_patterns, uint pattern_length, const char *patterns, uint num_records, uint record_length, const char *records, int *matches, Node* trie) { // Irrelevant code omitted. } vector<int> ac_benchmark_search( uint num_patterns, uint pattern_length, const char *patterns, uint num_records, uint record_length, const char *records, double &time) { // Prepare the container for the results vector<int> matches(num_records * num_patterns); Trie T; Node* trie = T.addWord(records, num_records, record_length); // error line ac_search(num_patterns, pattern_length, patterns, num_records, record_length, records, matches.data(), trie); // Irrelevant code omitted. return matches; }

  • Undefined reference to vtable

    - by RyanG
    So, I'm getting the infamously horrible "undefined reference to 'vtable..." error for the following code (The class in question is CGameModule.) and I cannot for the life of me understand what the problem is. At first, I thought it was related to forgetting to give a virtual function a body, but as far as I understand, everything is all here. The inheritance chain is a little long, but here is the related source code. I'm not sure what other information I should provide. My code: class CGameModule : public CDasherModule { public: CGameModule(Dasher::CEventHandler *pEventHandler, CSettingsStore *pSettingsStore, CDasherInterfaceBase *pInterface, ModuleID_t iID, const char *szName) : CDasherModule(pEventHandler, pSettingsStore, iID, 0, szName) { g_pLogger->Log("Inside game module constructor"); m_pInterface = pInterface; } virtual ~CGameModule() {}; std::string GetTypedTarget(); std::string GetUntypedTarget(); bool DecorateView(CDasherView *pView) { //g_pLogger->Log("Decorating the view"); return false; } void SetDasherModel(CDasherModel *pModel) { m_pModel = pModel; } virtual void HandleEvent(Dasher::CEvent *pEvent); private: CDasherNode *pLastTypedNode; CDasherNode *pNextTargetNode; std::string m_sTargetString; size_t m_stCurrentStringPos; CDasherModel *m_pModel; CDasherInterfaceBase *m_pInterface; }; } Inherits from... class CDasherModule; typedef std::vector<CDasherModule*>::size_type ModuleID_t; /// \ingroup Core /// @{ class CDasherModule : public Dasher::CDasherComponent { public: CDasherModule(Dasher::CEventHandler * pEventHandler, CSettingsStore * pSettingsStore, ModuleID_t iID, int iType, const char *szName); virtual ModuleID_t GetID(); virtual void SetID(ModuleID_t); virtual int GetType(); virtual const char *GetName(); virtual bool GetSettings(SModuleSettings **pSettings, int *iCount) { return false; }; private: ModuleID_t m_iID; int m_iType; const char *m_szName; }; Which inherits from.... namespace Dasher { class CEvent; class CEventHandler; class CDasherComponent; }; /// \ingroup Core /// @{ class Dasher::CDasherComponent { public: CDasherComponent(Dasher::CEventHandler* pEventHandler, CSettingsStore* pSettingsStore); virtual ~CDasherComponent(); void InsertEvent(Dasher::CEvent * pEvent); virtual void HandleEvent(Dasher::CEvent * pEvent) {}; bool GetBoolParameter(int iParameter) const; void SetBoolParameter(int iParameter, bool bValue) const; long GetLongParameter(int iParameter) const; void SetLongParameter(int iParameter, long lValue) const; std::string GetStringParameter(int iParameter) const; void SetStringParameter(int iParameter, const std::string & sValue) const; ParameterType GetParameterType(int iParameter) const; std::string GetParameterName(int iParameter) const; protected: Dasher::CEventHandler *m_pEventHandler; CSettingsStore *m_pSettingsStore; }; /// @} #endif

    I know that there are a lot of questions somewhat related to this one, but they answers are a bit hard for me to make sense of. I'm receiving the following error for a few different lines of code: C:\Users\Jeff\AppData\Local\Temp\ccAixtmT.o:football.cpp:(.text+0x6f0): undefined reference to `Player::set_values(int, std::string, float)' From these blocks of code: class Player { int playerNum; string playerPos; float playerRank; public: void set_values(int, string, float); float get_rank(){ return playerRank; }; bool operator == (const Player &p1/*, const Player &p2*/) const { if(&p1.playerNum == &playerNum && &p1.playerPos == &playerPos && &p1.playerRank == &playerRank) return true; else return false; }; }; And this being the main function referencing the subclass: int main() { ifstream infile; infile.open ("input.txt", ifstream::in); int numTeams; string command; while(!infile.fail() && !infile.eof()){ infile >> numTeams; string name; Player p; int playNum; string playPos; float playRank; Player all[11]; float ranks[11]; Team allTeams[numTeams]; for(int i=0; i<numTeams; i++){ infile >> name; for(int j=0; j<11; j++){ infile >> playNum; infile >> playPos; infile >> playRank; if(playPos == "QB") p.set_values(playNum, playPos, (playRank*2.0)); else if(playPos == "RB") p.set_values(playNum, playPos, (playRank*1.5)); else if(playPos == "WR") p.set_values(playNum, playPos, (playRank/1.8)); else if(playPos == "TE") p.set_values(playNum, playPos, (playRank*1.1)); else if(playPos == "GD") p.set_values(playNum, playPos, (playRank/2.0)); else if(playPos == "TC") p.set_values(playNum, playPos, (playRank/2.2)); else if(playPos == "CR") p.set_values(playNum, playPos, (playRank/1.2)); all[j] = p; allTeams[i].set_values(all, name); } } infile >> command; if (command == "play"){ int t1; int t2; infile >> t1; infile >> t2; play(allTeams[t1], allTeams[t2]); } else { int t1; int p1; int t2; int p2; swap(allTeams[t1], allTeams[t1].get_player(p1), allTeams[t2], allTeams[t2].get_player(p2)); } } }

  • undefined method `new_record?' for nil:NilClass

    - by TopperH
    In rails 3.2 I created a post controller. Each post can have a different number of paperclip attachments. To achieve this I created a assets model where each asset has a paperclip attachment. One post has_many assets and assets belong_to post. Asset model class Asset < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :post has_attached_file :photo, :styles => { :thumb => "200x200>" } end Post model class Post < ActiveRecord::Base attr_accessible :content, :title has_many :assets, :dependent => :destroy validates_associated :assets after_update :save_assets def new_asset_attributes=(asset_attributes) asset_attributes.each do |attributes| assets.build(attributes) end end def existing_asset_attributes=(asset_attributes) assets.reject(&:new_record?).each do |asset| attributes = asset_attributes[asset.id.to_s] if attributes asset.attributes = attributes else asset.delete(asset) end end end def save_assets assets.each do |asset| asset.save(false) end end end Posts helper module PostsHelper def add_asset_link(name) link_to_function name do |post| post.insert_html :bottom, :assets, :partial => 'asset', :object => Asset.new end end end Form for post <%= form_for @post, :html => { :multipart => true } do |f| %> <% if @post.errors.any? %> <div id="error_explanation"> <h2><%= pluralize(@post.errors.count, "error") %> prohibited this post from being saved:</h2> <ul> <% @post.errors.full_messages.each do |msg| %> <li><%= msg %></li> <% end %> </ul> </div> <% end %> <div class="field"> <%= f.label :title %><br /> <%= f.text_field :title %> </div> <div class="field"> <%= f.label :content %><br /> <%= f.text_area :content %> </div> <div id="assets"> Attach a file or image<br /> <%= render 'asset', :collection => @post.assets %> </div> <div class="actions"> <%= f.submit %> </div> <% end %> Asset partial <div class="asset"> <% new_or_existing = asset.new_record? ?   • Declaration of arrays before "normal" variables in c?

    - by bjarkef
    Hi We are currently developing an application for a msp430 MCU, and are running into some weird problems. We discovered that declaring arrays withing a scope after declaration of "normal" variables, sometimes causes what seems to be undefined behavior. Like this: foo(int a, int *b); int main(void) { int x = 2; int arr[5]; foo(x, arr); return 0; } foo sometimes is passed a pointer as the second variable, that does not point to the arr array. We verify this by single stepping through the program, and see that the value of the arr variable in the main scope is not the same as the value of the b pointer variable in the foo scope. And no, this is not really reproduceable, we have just observed this behavior once in a while. Changing the example seems to solve the problem, like this: foo(int a, int *b); int main(void) { int arr[5]; int x = 2; foo(x, arr); return 0; } Does anybody have any input or hints as to why we experience this behavior? Or similar experiences? The MSP430 programming guide specifies that code should conform to the ANSI C89 spec. and so I was wondering if it says that arrays has to be declared before non-array variables? Any input on this would be appreciated.

  • How can I return a value from GM_xmlhttprequest?

    - by GeoffreyF67
    I have this code here: var infiltrationResult; while(thisOption) { var trNode = document.createElement('tr'); var tdNode = document.createElement('td'); var hrefNode = document.createElement('a'); infPlanetID = thisOption.getAttribute('value'); var myURL = "http://www.hyperiums.com/servlet/Planetinf?securitylevel=90&newinfiltr=New+infiltration&planetid=" + PlanetID + "&infplanetid=" + infPlanetID; GM_xmlhttpRequest({ method: 'GET', url: myURL, headers: { 'User-agent': 'Mozilla/4.0 (compatible) Greasemonkey', 'Accept': 'application/atom+xml,application/xml,text/xml', }, onload: function(responseDetails) { if (responseDetails.responseText.match(/<b>Invalid order<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><BR><center><font color=#AAAA77 face=verdana,arial size=2>The target planet is blocking all infiltrations[\s\S]<BR><BR>/im)) { // Successful match infiltrationResult = 'Invalid Order'; } else { // Match attempt failed infiltrationResult = 'Infiltration Successfully Created'; } } }); When I add alert(infiltrationResult); right after it is assigned, I correctly see the string. However, after the function has exited, I have try the same alert and I get: undefined Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? I'm guessing it's some simple silly javascript synxtax I'm missing here :) G-Man

  • JS: Why isn't this variable available to the other functions?

    - by Marius Jonsson
    Hello there, I've am trying to make a canvas animation: var context; var meter; var pin; function init() { var meter = new Image(); var pin = new Image(); var context = document.getElementById('canvas').getContext('2d'); meter.src = 'background.png'; pin.src = 'needle.png'; context.drawImage(meter,0,0); context.translate(275,297); context.save(); setTimeout(startup,500); } function startup() { var r=2; // set rpm here. var i=r*36-27; var angleInRadians = 3.14159265 * i/180; //converting degree to radian context.rotate(angleInRadians); //rotating by angle context.drawImage(pin,-250,-3); //adjusting pin center at meter center context.restore(); } You can see the script at http://www.kingoslo.com/instruments/ With firebug I get error saying that context is undefined, which I think is strange. Thanks. Kind regards, Marius

  • iphone - creating a reference to a MPMoviePlayerController

    - by Mike
    At some point in my code I am creating a MPMoviePlayerController object and playing it. As I need to reference this object at some other methods in my code that runs asynchronously, I need to store a pointer to the movie object etc., so I can use that. Declaring MPMoviePlayerController * myMovie on the header file is out of question, because the compiler will give me an error saying "expected specifier-qualifier-list before 'MPMoviePlayerController'". If it was a view I could do something like [self.view viewWithTag:99]; to get the object, but the MPMoviePlayerController does not allow this. How can I obtain the movie object or store a reference to it, so I can call the object in other methods? thanks for any help.
