• How exactly does dependency injection reduce coupling?

  Hi, I've done plenty of reading on Dependency Injection, but I have no idea, how does it actually reduce coupling? The analogy I have of DI is that all components are registered with a container, so theyre are like in a treasure chest. To get a component, you obviously register it first, but then you would have to interrogate the treasure chest (which is like a layer of indirection). Is this the right analogy? It doesn't make obvious how the "injection" happens, though (how would that fit in with this analogy?). Thanks

  I have a script all done now and everything has been debugged and it works, except for the last hurdle. This script grabs pertinent information on bank web sites, takes that data and uses it to populate a template and then it's all posted to Wordpress - BUT I get an error because the file_get_contents function fails taking each url from the Array.   Hello guys. I'm having a strange issue here. I have a 3 column datagrid that is filled by a connection with the database. So far so good. I have an extra column, of checkbox type. I need to get it's value for perfoming a bulk operation on it. Here is the catch: When all cells are selected, it works fine. But when an user selects any cell that its not the first, software gives me a object reference exception.   Ok, I'm looking into using create_function for what I need to do, and I don't see a way to define default parameter values with it. Is this possible? If so, what would be the best approach for inputting the params into the create_function function in php? Perhaps using addslashes? But if some different file is called, all the functions from previous one are preserved. And I don't want that. Anybody knows how to "unload" first js file when second one is called? (I also tried using Ajax.Updater function but the result is the same.) Update: It turns out that there is bigger problem: it only loads if function "UpdateJS" is in window.onload that is why it doesn't load anything else after that. So prototypes update it's maybe not such a good way for this...

  I need to store multiple objects (most of them are TObject/non persistent) to a TMemoryStream, save the stream to disk and load it back. The objects need to be streamed one after each other. Some kind of universal container. I started to make several functions that store stuff to stream - for example function StreamReadString(CONST MemStream: TMemoryStream): string; StreamWriteString(CONST MemStream: TMemoryStream; s: string); However, it seems that I need to rewrite a lot of code. One of the many examples is TStringList.LoadFromStream that will not work so it needs to be rewritten. This is because TStringList needs to be the last object in the stream (it reads from current position to the end of the stream). Anybody knows a library that provide basic functionality like this? I am using Delphi 7 so RTTI won't help too much.

  I need to create poster frames from videos hosted on Amazon S3 via ffmpeg. So is there a way to use the remote video file directly in ffmpeg command line like this: ffmpeg -i "http://bucket.s3.amazonaws.com/video.mp4" -ss 00:00:10 -vframes 1 -f image2 "image%03d.jpg" ffmpeg just returns: http://bucket.s3.amazonaws.com/video.mp4: I/O error occurred Usually that means that input file is truncated and/or corrupted. I also tried forcing ffmpeg to use the videos mp4 container for reading: ffmpeg -f mp4 -i "http://bucket.s3.amazonaws.com/video.mp4" ... But no luck. Wget this video from S3 and processing it locally works fine of course, as well as reading the file remotely from other 'standard' http servers. So I know that ffmpeg supports remote file reading, but why not on S3?

• Keeping messages in queue in case of receiver crash

  Hi, We've a Spring JMS message listener container for receiving messages asynchronously. Using DefaultMessageListenerContainer and in sessionTransacted mode. I understand being in sessionTransacted mode means in case of an exception the message will be put back into the queue. But how can I make sure the message won't be deleted from the queue even if the receiver (which is picked the message) crashes or just the machine running it looses power? At first I thought CLIENT_ACKNOWLEDGE acknowledge mode should save me, but apparently it's not the case, Spring calls .acknowledge() no matter what. So here's my question, how can I guarantee the delivery? Using a custom MessageListenerContainer? Using a transaction manager?

• Combining multiple UIImageViews and preserve resolution

  I am designing an application where a user places multiple UIImageViews one over another. When the user decides to save this to photo album, I have to combine all these UIImageViews and save it to Photo Library. While combining them I need to preserve their positions, resolutions, zorder. The approach I tried I was to have a parent UIView which acts like a container. The user places all the UIImageViews inside this UIView. While saving, I take a screenshot of the UIView and save it. Although this approach works, it does not preserve the resolution. The resolution of the final image is same as the resolution of the parent UIView size (width and height being 300 pixels). Is there way to preserve the resolution? or atleast have a higher resolution like upto 1024* 1024 pixels? Any pointers/code examples would be appreciated!

• MapReduce results seem limited to 100?

It works when there are less than 100 records but when it goes over 100 records the count resets for some reason.
