  • file_get_contents() removing tab and new line characters

    - by Patrick Murray
I am having an issue today with the file_get_contents() function. When reading large files, the newline and tab characters are often removed. Here is a minified example of how I am using this. I hope I am not the only one who has encountered this issue! :O Thank you for your time! <?php $file_name = "template.html"; $data = array( 'title' => 'Hello, World!', 'content'=> 'Hey stackoverflow!'); $file_contents = file_get_contents($file_name); foreach($data as $comment_name => $replacement_value){ $search = "<!-- ".strtoupper($comment_name)." -->"; $file_contents = str_replace($search, $replacement_value, $file_contents); } echo $file_contents; ?>

    I have the following code to output images from directory im/, how can I tweak this to also output images from another diectory called out/ (for example)? As to echo another img tag under the current one? <?php $imgDir = "im/"; $images = scandir($imgDir); $ignore = array( ".", ".." ); natsort($images); foreach($images as $file) { if(!in_array($file, $ignore)) { echo "<div id=\"slideWrapper\">\n"; echo "<img src=\"im/$file\" width=\"1000\" height=\"683\" alt=\"$files\" />\n"; echo "</div>\n"; }; } ?>

  • Converting a PHP array to class variables.

    - by animuson
    Simple question, how do I convert an associative array to variables in a class? I know there is casting to do an (object) $myarray or whatever it is, but that will create a new stdClass and doesn't help me much. Are there any easy one or two line methods to make each $key => $value pair in my array into a $key = $value variable for my class? I don't find it very logical to use a foreach loop for this, I'd be better off just converting it to a stdClass and storing that in a variable, wouldn't I? class MyClass { var $myvar; // I want variables like this, so they can be references as $this->myvar function __construct($myarray) { // a function to put my array into variables } }

  • Scraping non-absolute URL

    - by cooldude
I am trying to scrape www.weather.bm. I want all 10 radar images, but I can only get one (the image updates regularly) and it's not a absolute image url. I was hoping I could use the image as a image slideshow like the link but dont know how. Also, how can I remove images/Radarlegend.png? I just need the radar images. Here is my code: include('simple_html_dom.php'); $html = file_get_html('http://www.weather.bm/radarMobile.asp'); foreach($html->find('img') as $element) echo $element->src . '<br>' My output is: <div id="main"> images/Radar/CurrentRadarAnimation_100km_sri/100km_sri-radar-2011-01-04-1556.jpg<br>images/Radarlegend.png<br></div> </div>

  • Count number of given object in a list with LINQ

    - by Aaginor
I have a list which can contain multiple occurrences of the same object. Now I need to count, how often the given object is contained in this list. int count = 0; foreach (IMyObject item in myList) if (item == object2Count) count++; I am sure that this can be done nicer with LINQ, but LINQ is still a mystery to me. My first question is: How would I count the objects via LINQ and the second question: Will this LINQ version be slower or faster? I am using a ObservableCollection and the number of items in the list is usally rather small ... usally not more then 20. Thanks in advance, Frank

  • WCF methods sharing a dictionary

    - by YeomansLeo
I'm creating a WCF Service Library and I have a question regarding thread-safety consuming a method inside this library, here is the full implementation that I have until now. namespace WCFConfiguration { [ServiceBehavior(InstanceContextMode = InstanceContextMode.PerCall, ConcurrencyMode = ConcurrencyMode.Single)] public class ConfigurationService : IConfigurationService { ConcurrentDictionary<Tuple<string, string>, string> configurationDictionary = new ConcurrentDictionary<Tuple<string, string>, string>(); public void Configuration(IEnumerable<Configuration> configurationSet) { Tuple<string, string> lookupStrings; foreach (var config in configurationSet) { lookupStrings = new Tuple<string, string>(config.BoxType, config.Size); configurationDictionary.TryAdd(lookupStrings, config.RowNumber); } } public void ScanReceived(string boxType, string size, string packerId = null) { } } } Imagine that I have a 10 values in my configurationDictionary and many people want to query this dictionary consuming ScanReceived method, are those 10 values be shared for each of the clients that request ScanReceived? Do I need to change my ServiceBehavior? The Configuration method is only consumed by one person by the way.

  • JQuery - How to convert html with br's in it to html with p's in it?

    - by Spines
On the my page I have html like this: hi<br>bye<br>sigh<br>hello <em>tie</em><br>lie with jquery, how can I convert it to html like this (basically using p's instead of br's): <p>hi</p><p>bye</p><p>sigh</p><p>hello <em>tie</em></p><p>lie</p> My first attempt at doing this was this code: $(container).contents().filter(function() { var val = this.nodeValue; return this.nodeType == TEXT_NODE && $.trim(val).length > 0; }) .wrap('<p></p>') .end() .filter('br') .remove(); This worked for the most part, except that it would put hello and <em>tie</em> in separate p elements. Does anyone know how I can do this properly?

  • Multiple key map in c++

    - by Morgan
Hi, I'm wondering if any of you know of a c++ associative map container type which I can perform multiple key lookups on. The map needs to have constant time lookups but I don't care if it's ordered or unordered. It just needs to be fast. For example, I want to store a bunch of std::vector objects in a map with an integer and a void* as the lookup keys. Both the int and the void* must match for my vector to be retrieved. Does anything like this exist already? Or am I going to have to roll my own. If so, any suggestions? I've been trying to store a boost::unordered_map inside another boost::unordered_map, but I have not had any success with this method yet. Maybe I will continue Pershing this method if there is no simpler way. Thanks!

  • Java Swing- Create a function to add elements to JScrollPanel

    - by battousai622
I want to create a function so that i can call add JLabel's, etc inside the JScrollPanel. I am not sure what the command is in NetBeans. I tried doing JScrollPanel - events - container - componentAdded to create the code below. But nothing shows up when i add code to that function. private void initComponents() { scrollPanel = new javax.swing.JScrollPane(); scrollPanel.addContainerListener(new java.awt.event.ContainerAdapter() { public void componentAdded(java.awt.event.ContainerEvent evt) { scrollPanelComponentAdded(evt); } } private void scrollPanelComponentAdded(java.awt.event.ContainerEvent evt) { System.out.println("main"); } Any help would be great, thanks.

  • Best way to force Spring shutdown from a bean?

    - by xcut
My application uses a Spring DefaultMessageListenerContainer to process incoming messages. The main method of the app already registers a shutdown hook. Question is this: what is the best way to force the application context to shut down? If I throw a RuntimeException in the message listener, it is handled by the container, and not passed on. Is calling System.exit acceptable? Do I pass along the ApplicationContext to every class that needs to shut down, so I can call close() on it?

  • Return result of block passed to #scan during regex

    - by Oli
I've searched and not been able to find the right way of doing what I'm trying to. I read a file line by line and want to create a new object from a regex on each line. I'm not using an XML parser because the data is not well formed and listed below is all I need to get from each line. I can't seem to get scan to return the result of the block. It just returns the original string. I have temporarily gotten around it by creating this temp variable, but I'm sure there is a better way. enum = File.foreach(filename) enum.map do |line| temp = nil line.scan(/<cab id="(\w+)" updates="(\d+)"/) { |a,b| temp = Cab.new(a,b) } temp end Thanks for any help.

  • efficiently compare two BitArrays of the same length

    - by BobTurbo
How would I do this? I am trying to count when both arrays have the same value of TRUE/1 at the same index. As you can see, my code has multiple bitarrays and is looping through each one and comparing them with a comparisonArray with another loop. It doesn't seem to be very efficient and I need it to be. foreach (bitArrayTuple in bitarryList) { for (int i = 0; i < arrayLength; i++) if (bArrayTuple.Item2[i] && comparisonArray[i]) bitArrayTuple.Item1++; } where Item1 is the count and Item2 is a bitarray.

  • How to resize a group of vectors in Expression Blend/WPF/Silverlight ?

    - by Shnitzel
So say for example I created a few small squares in expression blend. I then group them together by selecting them, right clicking and selecting "Group Into - Grid" So now that they are in the grid, I'd like to be able to resize this grid and then they would resize but it doesn't happen, it just resizes the grid but leaves the vectors the same. Is there a way to do what I am looking for? p.s I know you can just select all the vectors and then resize them all, but I am looking for a way to just resize one container and not all the objects in there..

  • Does the jQuery .unbind() method only work on jQuery created events?

    - by Roberto Sebestyen
I am trying to unbind all event handlers for all elements that are inside a particular container. Like a DIV. But those events have been bound/registered not using jQuery. Some are bound the manual way with onclick="...." or using regular native JavaScript. But when i do something like this $('#TheDivContainer').find('div,td,tr,tbody,table').unbind(); It does not appear to work. Which leads me to believe that the .unbind() only works if the events have been originally bound by jQuery. Is that true? Is there another way of unbinding all events from a group of elements ? Thanks!

  • Lots of pointer casts in QGraphicsView framework and performance

    - by kleimola
Since most of the convenience functions of QGraphicsScene and QGraphicsItem (such as items(), collidingItems(), childItems() etc.) return a QList you're forced to do lots of qgraphicsitem_cast or static_cast and QGraphicsItem::Type() checks to get hold of the actual items when you have lots of different type of items in the scene. I thought doing lots of subclass casts were not a desirable coding style, but I guess in this case there are no other viable way, or is there? QList<QGraphicsItem *> itemsHit = someItem->collidingItems(Qt::IntersectsItemShape); foreach (QGraphicsItem *item, itemsHit) { if (item->type() == QGraphicsEllipseItem::type()) { QGraphicsEllipseItem *ellipse = qgraphicsitem_cast<QGraphicsEllipseItem *>(item); // do something } else if (item->type() == MyItemSubclass::type()) { MyItemSubClass *myItem = qgraphicsitem_cast<MyItemSubClass *>(item); // do something } // etc } The above qgraphicsitem_cast could be replaced by static_cast since correct type is already verified. When doing lots of these all the time (very dynamic scene), will the numerous casting affect performance beyond the normal if-else evaluation?

  • updated validation example for web api

    - by MonkeyBonkey
I tried the validation example code for web api on the latest mvc 4 download and I'm getting some errors. Does anyone have an updated example of the ValidationActionFilter class. Here's the original code public class ValidationActionFilter : ActionFilterAttribute { public override void OnActionExecuting(HttpActionContext context) { var modelState = context.ModelState; if (!modelState.IsValid) { dynamic errors = new JsonObject(); foreach (var key in modelState.Keys) { var state = modelState[key]; if (state.Errors.Any()) { errors[key] = state.Errors.First().ErrorMessage; } } context.Response = new HttpResponseMessage<JsonValue>(errors, HttpStatusCode.BadRequest); } } } I'm getting an error on HttpResponseMessage The non-generic type 'System.Net.Http.HttpResponseMessage' cannot be used with type arguments Also it looks like I need to add a Json reference, but should I be using JSON.net instead? An example of this using Json.net?

  • C#: Basic Reflection Class

    - by Mike
I'm trying to find a basic reflection abstract class that will generate basic information about a class. I have a template of how I would like it to work: class ThreeList<string,Type,T> { string Name {get; set;} Type Type {get; set;} T Value {get; set;} } abstract class Reflect<T> { List<ThreeList<string, Type, T> list; ReturnType MethodName() { foreach (System.Reflection.PropertyInfo prop in this.GetType().GetProperties()) { object value = prop.GetValue(this, new object[] { }); list.Add(prop.Name, prop.DeclaringType, value); } } } I'd like it to be infinitely deep, recursively calling Reflect. Something like this has to exist. I'm not really opposed to coding it myself, I just don't want to go through the hassle if its already been done.

  • IE 8 Automatically Closing <header> tag

    - by djthoms
Background I am currently working on the final QA of a responsive website and I'm having an issue with IE 8 and IE 7. My client deals with government contracting so their website needs to be compatible with IE 8 and IE 7. I am using Modernizr with html5shiv built in. I am loading Modernizr in the footer of a WordPress theme that was custom built for this project. I'm not missing a doctype or any other obvious code. I am using the following scripts, all of which are loaded in the footer of WordPress: jQuery 1.10.1 Modernizr 2.6.3 (click for config) respond.js 1.3.0 superfish jQuery Waypoints 2.0.3 jQuery Waypoints Sticky 2.0.3 The Situation I'm having an issue with IE 8 automatically closing a <header> tag. First, I have used two utilities to check this issue: IETester IE 11 emulated to IE 8 w/ IE 8 User agent Here is the correct output <div class="wrapper main-header"> <header class="container"> <div class="sixteen columns alpha omega"> <div class="eight columns alpha omega logo"> <a href="http://example.com"><img src="http://example.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/logo.png" alt="Example"></a> </div> <div class="wrapper main-navigation desktop"> <nav id="nav" class="six columns alpha omega"> ... </nav> <div class="eight columns alpha omega overlay" style="display: none;"> ... </div> <div class="two columns alpha omega menu-ss"> ... </div> </div><!-- .wrapper.main-navigation --> </div><!-- /.sixteen.columns --> </header><!--/header--> </div><!-- /.main-header --> What IE 8 is rendering: <div class="wrapper main-header"> <header class="container"></header> <div class="sixteen columns alpha omega"> <div class="eight columns alpha omega logo"> <a href="http://example.com"><img src="http://example.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/logo.png" alt="Example"></a> </div> <div class="wrapper main-navigation desktop"> <nav id="nav" class="six columns alpha omega"> ... </nav> <div class="eight columns alpha omega overlay" style="display: none;"> ... </div> <div class="two columns alpha omega menu-ss"> ... </div> </div><!-- .wrapper.main-navigation --> </div><!-- /.sixteen.columns --> </header><//header><!--/header--> </div><!-- /.main-header --> What I have Tried Loading html5shiv with IE conditional in the <head> Loading Modernizr in the <head> I have looked at these Stackoverflow questions/answers: html 5 tags foorter or header in ie 8 and ie 7 html5 not rendering header tags in ie IE 8 self closing tags automatically Any assistance with this is greatly appreciated! I would really really really like to finish this website over the weekend. I've been banging my head against a wall for the past few hours over this issue. • Any chances to imitate times() Ruby method in C#?

    - by Alexander Prokofyev
Every time I need to do something N times inside an algorithm using C# I write this code for (int i = 0; i < N; i++) { ... } Studying Ruby I have learned about method times() which can be used with the same semantics like this N.times do ... end Code fragment in C# looks more complex and we should declare useless variable i. I tried to write extension method which returns IEnumerable, but I am not satisfied with the result because again I have to declare a cycle variable i. public static class IntExtender { public static IEnumerable Times(this int times) { for (int i = 0; i < times; i++) yield return true; } } ... foreach (var i in 5.Times()) { ... } Is it possible using some new C# 3.0 language features to make N times cycle more elegant?

  • Javascript object encapsulation that tracks changes

    - by Raynos
Is it possible to create an object container where changes can be tracked Said object is a complex nested object of data. (compliant with JSON). The wrapper allows you to get the object, and save changes, without specifically stating what the changes are Does there exist a design pattern for this kind of encapsulation Deep cloning is not an option since I'm trying to write a wrapper like this to avoid doing just that. The solution of serialization should only be considered if there are no other solutions. An example of use would be var foo = state.get(); // change state state.update(); // or state.save(); client.tell(state.recentChange()); A jsfiddle snippet might help : http://jsfiddle.net/Raynos/kzKEp/ It seems like implementing an internal hash to keep track of changes is the best option. [Edit] To clarify this is actaully done on node.js on the server. The only thing that changes is that the solution can be specific to the V8 implementation.
