• Calling a WCF WebService in PHP via wsHttpBinding.

  I have a WCF webservice I can connect to it via basicHttp, but not wsHttp. I try to conenct to it via wshttp via the following: $service = new SoapClient ("http://service.companyname.local:6666/Service/?wsdl", array( "location" => "http://service.companyname.local:6666/Service/WCF", "trace" => true, 'soap_version' => SOAP_1_2 ) ); The call to the SoapClient constructor returns fine. When I try to call one using $client-FunctionName, the page just sits there loading for quite a while, and eventually returns the error "Error Fetching http headers". What exactly is this supposed to mean and how do I fix it? (Consuming the service from .Net client works perfectly.)

  I'm running asterisk 1.6.2.6 and freepbx-2.7.0 My trunk is configured as follows: Outgoing Settings Trunk name: GoTalk Peer Details: host=sip.gotalk.com username=09xxxxxx secret=YNxxxxxx type=peer fromuser=09xxxxxx fromdomain=sip.gotalk.com canreinvite=no insecure=very Incoming Settings User Context: 09xxxxx User Details: username=09xxxxx fromuser=09xxxxx type=peer secret=YNxxxxx insecure=very host=dynamic fromdomain=sip.gotalk.com context=from-pstn Register String: 09xxxxxx:[email protected]/09xxxxxx I have an inbound route called Incoming with DID 09xxxxxx diverted to local extension 200 When I do a sip trace and dial my telephone number 0741xxxxx I just get failure beeps. I never see any SIP traffic from GoTalk to my asterisk server trying to connect the call. Seems I'm not registering correctly for incoming calls because GoTalk aren't sending them to me. I am correct in using the GoTalk username 09xxxxxx as the DID, aren't I ? I've tried using my phone number but it makes no difference.

• Behavior of Struts2 and convention-plugin when there is Index(extends ActionSupport)

  We have an Action class named 'Index' immediately under com.example.common.action and is annotated @ParentPackage('default') which is declared in package directive in struts.xml and has "/" for its namespace and extends "struts-default". It also declares @Result so that it responses with jsp files corresponding the string values returned by its execute() method. In our struts.xml, the following struts setting is configured along with other necessary configurations that are needed for convention-plugin. <constant name="struts.action.extension" value=","/> When accessing /my_context/none_existing_path, the request apparently hits this Index class and the contents of the jsp declared in the Index's @Result section gets returned. However, if we provide /my_context/, we receive the following error: HTTP Status 404-There is no Action mapped for namespace[/] and action name [] associated with context path [/my_context]. We want to know the reason why accessing /my_context/none_existing_path, where none_existing_path has no matching action, can fallback to Index class, but error is returned when when the URL requested is just /my_context/. Currently, our convention-plugin settings are declared as follows: <constant name="struts.convention.package.locators.basePackage" value="com.example"/> <constant name="struts.convention.package.locators" value="action"/> Strangely, if we changed the value of the struts.convention.package.locators.basePackage to om.example.common, in which the aforementioned Index file can be immediately found by narrowing the search scope, requesting /my_context/ displays the content of the jsps declared in @Result section of the Index class. However, as our action classes are distributed throughout the com.example.[a-z].action packages, where [a-z] represents the large volume of directories we have in our package structure, we cannot use this trick as a workaround. We have also tried placing index.jsp at the top level of the class path, and have the index.jsp redirect to /my_context/index, which worked but not what we want. Could this be a bug? • Is there a Designer for MFC in Visual Studio like for windows forms in .NET?

  I'm a .NET programmer. I've never developed anything in MFC. Currently I had to write a C++ application (console) for some image processing task. I finished writing it. But the point is I need to design GUI also for this. Well, there won't be anything complex. Just a window with few Buttons, RadioButtons, Check Boxes, PicturesBox & few sliders. thats it. I'm using VS 2008 and was expecting a .NET style form designer. Just to test, I created a MFC project (with all default configuration) and these files were created by default: ChildFrm.cpp MainFrm.cpp mfc.cpp mfcDoc.cpp mfcView.cpp stdafx.cpp Now, I'm unable to find a Designer. There is no View Designer. I've opened all the above *.cpp and in the code editor right clicked to see "Designer View". ToolBox is just empty because I'm in code editor mode. When I built the project. This is the window I get. How to open a designer?

• [RPM Building] How to take user input during install

  So when I create a debian package, I am able to write a post-installation shell script that runs just fine. However, I can't seem to get user input to work with RPMs for Fedora. Is there a good way to take user input? From what I understand, RPMs were designed not to allow interactive installs. However I can't see a better way to do this.. Is there possibly a way to automatically find local MySQL settings without asking the user? Otherwise, what's the best way to ask for user input?

But if i do, instead: $element = $collection-get_element("test1"); $element = null; //or $element = new GenericObject(); $element-another_var = "bla"; echo $collection-get_element("test1")-another_var; the output is default like if it lost the reference. So, what's wrong? I have got the references to the variables of the element and not to the element itself? Any ideas?

• Why can't I create an abstract constructor on an abstract C# class?

  I am creating an abstract class. I want each of my derived classes to be forced to implement a specific signature of constructor. As such, I did what I would have done has I wanted to force them to implement a method, I made an abstract one. public abstract class A { abstract A(int a, int b); } However I get a message saying the abstract modifier is invalid on this item. My goal was to force some code like this. public class B : A { public B(int a, int b) : base(a, b) { //Some other awesome code. } } This is all C# .NET code. Can anyone help me out? Update 1 I wanted to add some things. What I ended up with was this. private A() { } protected A(int a, int b) { //Code } That does what some folks are saying, default is private, and the class needs to implement a constructor. However that doesn't FORCE a constructor with the signature A(int a, int b). public abstract class A { protected abstract A(int a, int b) { } } Update 2 I should be clear, to work around this I made my default constructor private, and my other constructor protected. I am not really looking for a way to make my code work. I took care of that. I am looking to understand why C# does not let you do this.

  I'm using MooTools 1.4.5 and I want to change cursor before calling function that takes some time and after finished same function set cursor to default. I was not successful. After that I made simple example to change background color via plain JavaScript (no jQuery or MooTools plugin) and again I was not successful. I assumed that the background color will bi set to red and after delay to yellow. It doesn't work. When page is loaded background color is yellow (last line). If I insert alert function in a middle of lines where sets background color everything works fine (background color is red, click to message box, background color is yellow). Why it works so? Only last changing style is affected. I need something like that to change pointer before calling function that takes 10 seconds and setting cursor to default value after function is done.

  I'm running a web service which runs algorithms that serve millions of calls daily and run some background processing as well. Every now and than I see "Too many connections" error in attempts to connect to the MySQL box" for a few seconds. However this is not necessarily attributed to high traffic times or anything I can put my finger on. I want to find the bottleneck causing it. Other than in the specific times this happens the server isn't too loaded in terms of CPU and Memory, and has 2-3 connections (threads) open and everything works smoothly. (I use Zabbix for monitoring) Any creative ideas on how to trace it?

• In RoR, is there an easy way to prevent the view from outputting <p> tags?

  I'm new to Ruby and Rails and I have a simple controller that shows an item from the database in a default view. When it is displaying in HTML it is outputting <p> tags along with the text content. Is there a way to prevent this from happening? I suppose if there isn't, is there at least a way to set the default css class for the same output in a statement such as this: <% @Items.each do |i| %> <%= i.itemname %> <div class="menu_body"> <a href="#">Link-1</a> </div> <% end %> So the problem is with the <%= i.itemname %> part. Is there a way to stop it from wrapping it in its own <p> tags? Or set the css class for the output? Thanks!

• iOS Development: Why isn't my try block catching the exception?

  Hi. I have an exception being thrown in my code, but when I wrap it in an try/catch block, it doesn't get caught. The NSLog statement is never called in the catch block. Here's the code... • Application crashes when popViewControllerAnimated is called while scrolling

  In one screen I have a custom toolbar with a "close" button in it, and a UIScrollView. In the screen that preceded this one I had pushed the current screen into the navigation stack. I had also disabled the navigation toolbar for a larger display area and so the close button would instead be used to call: - (void)doClose { [self.navigationController popViewControllerAnimated:YES]; } Now here's the problem: the application crashes when the close button is pressed, while the UIScrollView is moving. Here's the debugger stack trace: 0 __forwarding__ 1 __forwarding_prep_0___ 2 -[UIToolbarButton setHighlighted:] 3 -[UIControl(Static) _unhighlight] 4 __NSFireDelayedPerform ... and I do have the following line in the debugger console: *** -[CALayer setOpacity:]: message sent to deallocated instance 0x718d250 (sometimes setOpacity would be setNeedsDisplay or something related) There won't be any crashes while the scrollview is at rest. What is happening?

• How to find which method makes my iPhone app slow ?

  Currently I am working on a production app. One function acts like the settings.app on iPhone. When the user click a cell of a tableView, as shown below http://www.penguintech.net/images/stackoverflow/1.png It will push another view, which includes a textfield to let user input something. However, on both simulator and device, after the app just loaded, the delay between clicking and showing the second view takes around 2 seconds. Then if user get back to previous view and click again, it will be no delay at all. To detect which method makes the delay, I put a NSLog() in every involved methods, but when I was inspecting the console while running the app, all NSLog() message showed in 0.1 seconds, and then still a delay on the app. Is there any other way to trace the performance footage of a app? The Instruments shows only CPU usage in Mac OS not in iPhone.

  Before I show the query here are the relevant table definitions: CREATE TABLE phpbb_posts ( topic_id mediumint(8) UNSIGNED DEFAULT '0' NOT NULL, poster_id mediumint(8) UNSIGNED DEFAULT '0' NOT NULL, KEY topic_id (topic_id), KEY poster_id (poster_id), ); CREATE TABLE phpbb_topics ( topic_id mediumint(8) UNSIGNED NOT NULL auto_increment ); Here's the query I'm trying to do: SELECT p.topic_id, p.poster_id FROM phpbb_topics AS t LEFT JOIN phpbb_posts AS p ON p.topic_id = t.topic_id AND p.poster_id <> ... WHERE p.poster_id IS NULL; Basically, the query is an attempt to find all topics where the number of times someone other than the target user has posted in is zero. In other words, the topics where the only person who has posted is the target user. Problem is that query is taking a super long time. My general assumption when it comes to SQL is that JOINs of any are super fast and can be done in no time at all assuming all relevant columns are primary or foreign keys (which in this case they are). I tried out a few other queries: SELECT COUNT(1) FROM phpbb_topics AS t JOIN phpbb_posts AS p ON p.topic_id = t.topic_id; That returns 353340 pretty quickly. I then do these: SELECT COUNT(1) FROM phpbb_topics AS t JOIN phpbb_posts AS p ON p.topic_id = t.topic_id AND p.poster_id <> 77198; SELECT COUNT(1) FROM phpbb_topics AS t JOIN phpbb_posts AS p ON p.topic_id = t.topic_id WHERE p.poster_id <> 77198; And both of those take quite a while (between 15-30 seconds). If I change the < to a = it takes no time at all. Am I making some incorrect assumptions? Maybe my DB is just foobar'd?

The number of types is pretty much fixed, but the number of functions like foo or bar will increase by high numbers, so i dont want nested switchs. So how can i make this working without using nested switchs ?

  I'm relatively new to Java and am used to generics in C# so have struggled a bit with this code. Basically I want a generic method for getting a stored Android preference by key and this code, albeit ugly, works for a Boolean but not an Integer, when it blows up with a ClassCastException. • Windows Service Fails on Launch

  I'm trying to write a windows service. It installs fine, but fails when I run it with the following exception. I've searched for the string "MyNewProgramService", but I can't find any conversions that would throw this error. I've also added try/catch blocks to a bunch of code with custom exception handling without finding where this exception is occuring. I'm thinking it's somewhere in the auto-generated configuartion/setup code. Any ideas?   The following is the code i used in a program - over here the month variable is an integer switch(month) { case 1: case 3: case 5: case 7: case 8: case 10: case 12: return 31; break; case 2: return 28; break; case 4: case 6: case 9: case 11: return 30; break; default: System.out.println("Invalid month."); return 0; } surprisingly, when i use the above switch construct.. it gives an error saying.. code unreachable for statements after each break statement Then i removed all the break statements, and the new code looks like this --- switch(month) { case 1: case 3: case 5: case 7: case 8: case 10: case 12: return 31; case 2: return 28; case 4: case 6: case 9: case 11: return 30; default: System.out.println("Invalid month."); return 0; } Now.. after removing the break statements .. the code worked perfectly well.. My question is... in the switch construct.. it is mandatory to use break.. or else the control flow continued.. and all the conditions are tested and executed!! right??? So why in the world is the previous ** syntactically Right** version giving an error.. and the modified syntactically incorrect version running perfectly well.. Any explanation.. anyone!!
