• Javascript back button for iframe parent window

  I have some pages with iframes in them. I want to add a link/button inside the iframe, to make the browser go back one page in history. But I want the PARENT to go back, not the iframe itself. I originally had this, which makes the iframe page go back (if it exists): <a href="javascript:history.back()">&laquo; Go back</a> I've tried window.parent.history.back() and window.parent.document.history.back() but neither one works. There are no cross-domain issues accessing the iframe from the parent and vice-versa.

• Light weight C++ SAX XML parser

  I know of at least three light weight C++ XML parsers: RapidXML, TinyXML and PugiXML. However, all three use a DOM based interface (ie, they build their own in-memory representation of the XML document and then provide an interface to traverse and manipulate it). For most situations that I have to deal with, I much prefer the SAX interface (where the parser just spits out a stream of events like start-of-tag, and the application code is responsible for doing whatever it wants based on those events). Can anyone recommend a light weight C++ XML library with a SAX interface? Edit: I should also note the Microsoft XmlLite library, which does use a SAX interface. Unfortunately, it's ruled out for me at the moment since as far as I know it's closed source and Windows only (please correct me if I'm wrong on this).

  I am using the free Kendo UI Core Framework. I am looking for a searchable Combobox that fires the sql after inserting, for example, 2 letters. Behind my Listbox there are more than 10000 items and now it takes too much time when I load or refresh the page. Is it possible to trigger the sql query only by user input like the autocomplete widget do?   Hi I am trying to integrate Django-Paypal onto a site, where once the customer makes a payment I need to send a dynamic URL from which the user can download some specific information. I am registering all users to a URL which allows them to buy the document. The URL which can only be accessed by a registered user with a verified email ids using django-registration, allows the user to connect to paypal and make payment. How do I capture the signal and verify which user has made the payment for which product he/she is purchased, based on this information 1) I need to know two information, which user made the payment, and for which product did he or she make the payment? 2) Only if I have these information can I send the right UR:L by email. Any help appreciated. I am not very sure how django-signals work. What all details does payment_was_successful signal return? I am using IPN

• Google Docs viewer in IE

  Hey all, I've searched high and low for a solution, but can't find one. I'm using Google Docs Viewer to view PDF files. It's a great tool, but I can't seem to get it working in Internet Explorer (7 or 8). All my images come up as a 'missing' icon. If I view the file externally, it seems to load fine and it will start working (I'm assuming because the images are being cached). The document is being displayed in an iframe and works in all other browsers. Has anyone come across a solution to get it to work in IE? If not, is there an alternative that can display PPT and PDF files? Thanks

  My application is used RavenDB-Embedded Unstable 1.2.2127 that it's intracted with ASP .Net Web API in the separated assemblies. When I use "UseEmbeddedHttpServer = true" on the document store, first time I send a request to RavenDB, it executes properly but when I try for the second time my application displays Raven Studio. However, if UseEmbeddedServer setting be removed then my application will be running without any problems. My RavenDB is configured with the following codes in data tier : this.documentStore = new EmbeddableDocumentStore { ConnectionStringName = "RavenDB", UseEmbeddedHttpServer = true } and implementation of Web.config have these settings in the service tier : <connectionStrings> <add name="RavenDB" connectionString="~\App_Data\RavenDatabase" /> </connectionStrings> Is there a setting I missed?

• possible to save pdf with .net from populated form by .fdf

  I have a process that creates form data in the form of an .fdf file that then has a reference to the .pdf document that is its "parent". is it possible with any .NET process to save that .pdf file (populated with the data that came in from the .fdf)? I need this because I need to email the fully populated .pdf documents out. I've been just sending the .fdfs with fully qualified links to the pdfs, but some people are having problems with it and I'd rather just go full-blown pdf if I can do it. FYI, my server does have a licensed copy of Acrobat installed if that matters....

• How to have localized style when writing cell with xlwt

  I'm writing an Excel spreadsheet with Python's xlwt and I need numbers to be formatted using "." as thousands separator, as it is in brazilian portuguese language. I have tried: style.num_format_str = r'#,##0' And it sets the thousands separator as ','. If I try setting num_format_str to '#.##0', I'll get number formatted as 1234.000 instead of 1.234. And if I open document in OpenOffice and format cells, I can set the language of the cell to "Portuguese (Brazil)" and then OpenOffice will show the format code as being "#.##0", but I don't find a way to set the cell's language to brazilian portuguese. Any ideas?

• A tool to find and fix incomplete source code documentation

  I have several finished, older PHP projects with a lot of includes that I would like to document in javadoc/phpDocumentor style. While working through each file manually and being forced to do a code review alongside the documenting would be the best thing, I am, simply out of time constraints, interested in tools to help me automate the task as much as possible. The tool I am thinking about would ideally have the following features: Parse a PHP project tree and tell me where there are undocumented files, classes, and functions/methods (i.e. elements missing the appropriate docblock comment) Provide a method to half-way easily add the missing docblocks by creating the empty structures and, ideally, opening the file in an editor (internal or external I don't care) so I can put in the description. Optional: Automatic recognition of parameter types, return values and such. But that's not really required. The language in question is PHP, though I could imagine that a C/Java tool might be able to handle PHP files after some tweaking. Thanks for your great input!

  I've got an XElement deep within a document. Given the XElement (and XDocument?), is there an extension method to get its full (i.e. absolute, e.g. /root/item/element/child) XPath? E.g. myXElement.GetXPath()? EDIT: Okay, looks like I overlooked something very important. Whoops! The index of the element needs to be taken into account. See my last answer for the proposed corrected solution.

  I have a 3x12 matrix I'd like to input into my LaTeX (with amsmath) document but LaTeX seems to choke when the matrix gets larger then 3x10: \begin{equation} \textbf{e} = \begin{bmatrix} 1&1&1&1&0&0&0&0&-1&-1&-1&-1\\ 1&-1&0&0&1&1&-1&-1&0&0&1&-1\\ 0&0&1&-1&1&-1&1&-1&1&-1&0&0 \end{bmatrix} \end{equation} The error: Extra alignment tab has been changed to \cr. tells me that I have more & then the bmatrix environment can handle. Is there a proper way to handle this? Also it seems that the alignment for 1's and the -1's are different, is that also expected of the bmatrix?

• Wiring up JavaScript handlers after a Partial Postback in ASP.NET

  I am trying to use LinkButtons with the DefaultButton property of the ASP.NET Panel in an UpdatePanel. I have read and used the various other answers that are around describing the wiring up of the click event so that a full postback is not done instead of a partial postback. When the page loads, I wire up the .click function of the LinkButton so that the DefaultButton property of the ASP.NET panel will work. This all works fine, until you bring an UpdatePanel into the mix. With an UpdatePanel, if there is a partial postback, the script to wire up the .click function is not called in the partial postback, and hitting enter reverts to causing a full submit of the form rather than triggering the LinkButton. How can I cause javascript to be executed after a partial postback to re-wire up the .click function of the LinkButton? I have produced a sample page which shows the problem. There are two alerts showing 1) When the code to hook up the .click function is being called, and 2) When the .click function has been called (this only happens when you hit enter in the textbox after the event has been wired up). To test this code, type something in the textbox and hit Enter. The text will be copied to the label control, but "Wiring up Event Click" alert will not be shown. Add another letter, hit enter again, and you'll get a full postback without the text being copied to the label control (as the LinkButton wasn't called). Because that was a full postback, the Wiring Up Event Click event will be called again, and the form will work properly the next time again. This is being done with ASP.NET 3.5. • url with question mark considered as new http request?

  I am optimization my web page by implementing caching, so if I want the browser not to take data from cache, then I will append a dynamic number as query value. eg: google.com?val=823746 But some time, if I want to bring data from cache for the below url, the browser is making a new http request to server, its not taking data from cache. Is that because of the question mark in URL ? eg: http://google.com? Please provide some reference document link. Thanks in advance. Regards, Navin

• Why does this window object not have the eval function?

  I ran into an interesting (?) problem in the YUI rich edit demo on IE. When looking at the window object for the content editable frame used as the browser I see that the eval function is undefined (by running the following). javascript:alert(document.getElementById("editor_editor").contentWindow.eval) This only happens on IE (I checked on IE6 and IE8), and it doesn't happen on Firefox or Chrome. All the other window functions and properties seem to be in order, now I realise that eval is not really defined on the window but on the global object but my understanding was that in browsers the window is the global object (also eval does appear on all other windows so why not on this one?). Does anyone know if this is a know bug/limitation in IE and how I can get to eval in the context of the global object of this frame? (I need the side effects to be available to anything running from within this frame).

  Hi, I want to read/write to cache.plist If I want to read an existing premade plist file stored in the resources folder I can go: path = [[NSBundle mainBundle] bundlePath]; NSString *finalPath = [path stringByAppendingPathWithComponent@"cache.plist"]; NSMutableDictionary *root = ... But then I wish to read it from the iPhone. Can't, the Resources folder is only readable. So I need to use: NSDocumentDirectory, NSUserDomain,YES So how can I have my plist file preinstalled to the Document Directory location? Thus meaning I don't have to mess around with untidy code copying the plist file over at startup. (Unless that's the only way).

• C# Windows Forms Print Dialog box click OK twice to respond

  I'm using Visual Studio 2008, .net Framework 3.5 for a Windows forms client-server app that I'm working on. There is a weird bug when I run the program and try to print. The print dialog box opens, but I have to click the OK button twice for it to work. After the second click it works fine, no errors. When I put a breakpoint on: if (result == DialogResult.OK) , the breakpoint doesn't trigger until the second click. Here is the code: private void tbPrint_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { try { printDialog1.Document = pDoc; DialogResult result = printDialog1.ShowDialog(); if (result == DialogResult.OK) { pDoc.PrinterSettings.PrinterName = printDialog1.PrinterSettings.PrinterName; pDoc.Print(); } ... This is driving me crazy, and I can't see anything else that would interfere with it.
