    Hi folks, I am using Gmail sender function defined here to send a mail to the predefined mail id. But my problem is that i want to embed more text into the body of my mail... The Gmail sender is only accepting one sting to be embedded into the body of the mail. Can anyone tell me how to embed more strings into the body of the mail... If Gmail sender is not efficient method to send a mail then please suggest me an alternative with an example....

  • Cursor while loop returning every value but the last

    Hello, I am using a while loop to iterate through a cursor and then outputing the longitude and latitude values of every point within the database. For some reason it is not returning the last (or first depending on if I use Cursor.MoveToLast) set of longitude and latitude values in the cursor. Now my problem is that I wanted to move both of them(Scrollview and list) together and with proper synchronization...   • Jwplayer 6: html5 fullscreen when video clicked to play

    I want to be able to use jwplayer so that when the user clicks on the video the video will start to play in fullscreen mode. I want this functionality to work on mobile devices that support html5. If the video is played on a mobile device it will take up the whole screen. Youtube and Vimeo currently do this on mobile devices. The Link Below uses Html5 video tag, which plays in fullscreen on mobile device when the video is clicked on. The only way I that I know that jwplayer allows fullscreen is that I manually click on the fullscreen button, but it would be nice to only click on the video to trigger the video to play in full screen.

    Iam trying to get a location (latitute and longitude), I cant figure out what Im doing wrong but my location keeps returning null.     Hi, I want to make a apps that check what's the nearest place from where the user is. I can easily get the location of the user and I have a list of places with latitude and longitude. What would be the best way to know the nearest place of the list against the current position. I could not find anything in the google APIs.   • TabWidget white foreground color?

    I don't know what I did but for a period of time my TabWidget had white colored tabs which looked really nice. I never set a theme or background/foreground color in my project at all. The next time I compiled it it reverted back to the gray tabs. My application is using the default dark theme. Even if I set the application theme to light, the tabs are still gray. So obviously it was something else that changed the tabs' color. Anyone know how to do this?

    All I need to do is download some basic text-based and image files from a web server that has a self-signed SSL certificate. I have been trying to figure out how to use HttpClient to do this, but getting the SSL to work is a nightmare that seems to be way too much trouble for such a simple task. Is there a better way to perform these file downloads? Perhaps through a WebView or Browser feature? Reinventing the wheel of making a simple HTTPS GET request is a major pain, and is significantly holding up my development schedule.

  • How to establish a two-way communication between Activity and Service in different process?

    Hi everyone, I'm working on establishing a two-way communication between an Activity and a Service which runs in a different process. Querying the process from the Activity is no big deal. But I want the process to notify the Activity on events. The idea behind it is this: the service runs independently from the actual app. It queries a webserver periodically. If a new task is found on the webserver the process should notify the activity. I found this thread over at AndDev.org but it doesn't seem to work for me. I've been messing around with BroadcastReceiver. I've implemented an interface which should notify the Activity but the problem is that the listener is always null since the Broadcast from the process is done via Intent, hence the class that extends BroadcastReceiver will be newly instantiated. How can I establish a 2-way communication? This has to be possible. Thanks for any help, steff

    I have a complex custom view - photo collage. What is observed is whenever any UI interaction happens, the view is redrawn. How can I avoid complete redrawing (for example, use a cached UI) of the view specially when I click the "back" button to go back to previous activity because that also causes redrawing of the view. While exploring the API and web, I found a method - getDrawingCache() - but don't know how to use it effectively. How do I use it effectively? I've had other issues with Custom Views that I outline here.

    I'm using a ListView with CheckBox, but as most of you know, when you roll down the scroll, a checked CheckBox gets unchecked as you roll up back the scroll. So i've been reading and i found out that you can pass (using getView) the id of the CB to the position parameter of getView to save the CheckBox state! But i can't use getView with SimpleCursorAdapter, can i? Because i'm using bindView! Thanks

  • Trouble with detecting gestures over ListView

    I have an Activity that contains a ViewFlipper. The ViewFlipper includes 2 layouts, both of which are essentially just ListViews. So the idea here is that I have two lists and to navigate from one to the other I would use a horizontal swipe. I have that working. However, what ever list item your finger is on when the swipe begins executing, that item will also be long-clicked.     I'm trying to draw Arabic text onto a Bitmap for display: Bitmap img = Bitmap.createBitmap( (int) f+100, 300, Config.RGB_565); Canvas c = new Canvas(); c.setBitmap( img ); mFace = Typeface.createFromAsset(getAssets(),"DejaVuSansCondensed.ttf"); mPaint.setTypeface(mFace); content = "????"; content = ArabicUtilities.reshape( content ); System.out.println("Drawing text: " + content); c.drawText(content, 30, 30, mPaint); The ArabicUtilities class is a tool to reshape the unicode text so the letters are connected. see: http://github.com/agawish/Better-Arabic-Reshaper/ However, the bitmap that is generated looks like this: When it should look like ???? I believe the issue is because, unlike a TextView, the Bitmap class is not BiDi aware, so it draws the letters from left to write. Try as I might, I can't figure out how to draw the text in the correct order.
