  • Is there a way to specify minimum minibuffer/echo area size in emacs?

    I am running Emacs 24, and due to a separate issue, my input method displays input candidates in the minibuffer regardless of how I set its options. That would not be such a problem if the minibuffer did not resize from height 2 (when displaying candidates) to height 1 (when not), repeatedly, as I scroll through candidates--it's really jarring. I looked through the documentation online and searched the configuration pages, but I couldn't find a setting for this. Is it possible?

    I get this two Exchange 2010 Global Address book related event IDs: Event ID 9331 MSExchangeSA OABGen encountered error 80004005 (internal ID 50101f1) accessing the public folder database while generating the offline address list for address list '/'. -\Default Offline Address List and Event ID 9335 MSExchangeSA OABGen encountered error 80004005 while cleaning the offline address list public folders under /o=xxxxx xxxx/cn=addrlists/cn=oabs/cn=Default Offline Address List. Please make sure the public folder database is mounted and replicas exist of the offline address list folders. No offline address lists have been generated. Please check the event log for more information. -\Default Offline Address List It is Exchange 2010 SP2 sitting on Windows 2008 enterprise edition. Essentially the issue is that the global address book is not being updated on Outlook clients. We are using Outlook 2007 and 2010. So far I have tried running the following command: Update-FileDistributionService -Identity ExchangeServer -Type "OAB" And I tried this solution as well: 1) Make sure the Microsoft Exchange System Attendant is running. It will be set to start automatically by default, but it doesn't. This is a known issue. Start this service manually. When running, you will not get an error when trying to update the GAL. 2) "Apply" any changes made to any address lists before the GAL will update Outlook properly. In Organization Configuration - Mailbox in EMC, view the properties of the Default Global Address Book in the Offline Address Book tab. In the properties window, select the Address Lists tab. This shows which address lists makes up the GAL. 3) Close the properties window and select the Address Lists tab in the Organization Configuration - Mailbox. Right-click each address list used by the Def GAL and click "Apply" (make sure the "Immediately" radio button is checked). 4) Last, go back to the Offline Address Book tab, right-click the GAL and select "Update". After a few send/receives in the Outlook clients, their Glogal Address List should update to show the latest changes. Neither one of those solutions helped. So I am not really sure what to do here. Also, I am aware of changing registry on each local computers, but it would be close to impossible as we have 8 offices in 3 different countries. Any suggestions? EDIT 7.XII.2012 @ 10.35 I forgot to mention that we did rebuild the address book and that didn't help.

  • Disable WLan if Wired/Cable Network is available

    The question says it all. All i want is that my W-Lan connection should be disabled whenever a wired connection is available. What would be the easiest way to do that in Ubuntu/Gnome? In all guides (for instance some about guessnet) i found i had to configure my whole network configuration (WPA keys, DHCP, ...), but i find that a bit too complicated for such a simple use case. I just want to disable wlan0 when eth0 is connected.

  • Apache server randomly stopped working yesterday. How can I fix it?

    I use Apache version 2.2.11 through WampServer to host a website. Every time during the last week I tried to connect to localhost it went through and everything was fine. Now all of a sudden I get errors. I didn't change the configuration or anything as far as I know, it just stopped working for no apparent reason. As I said before, it's been working fine. Any way I can get it back up and working again?

  • Can't get virtual desktops to show up on RDWeb for Server 2012 R2

    I built a test lab using the Windows Server 2012 R2 Preview. The initial test lab has the following configuration (I have replaced our name with "OurCompanyName" because I would like it if Google searches for our name did not cause people to come to this site, please do the same in any responses) Physical hardware running Windows Server 2012 R2 Preview full GUI, acting as Hyper-V host (joined to the test domain as testVwHost.testVw.OurCompanyName.com) with the following VM's running on it VM running 2012 R2 Core acting as domain controller for the forest testVw.OurCompanyName.com (testDC.testVw.OurCompanyName.com) VM running 2012 R2 Core with nothing running on it joined to the test domain as testIIS.testVw.OurCompanyName.com A clean install of Windows 7, all that was done to it was all windows updates where loaded and sysprep /generalize /oobe /shutdown /mode:vm was run on it A clean install of Windows 8, all that was done to it was all windows updates where loaded and sysprep /generalize /oobe /shutdown /mode:vm was run on it I then ran "Add Roles and Features" from testVwHost and chose the "Remote Desktop Services Installation", "Standard Deployment", "Virtual machine-based desktop deployment". I choose testIIS for the roles "RD Connection Broker" and "RD Web Access" and testVwHost as "RD Virtualization Host" The Install of the roles went fine, I then went to Remote Desktop Services in server manager and wet to setup Deployment Properties. I set the certificate for all 3 roles to our certificate signed by a CA for *.OurCompanyName.com. I then created a new Virtual Desktop Collection for Windows 7 and Windows 8 and both where created without issue. On the Windows 7 pool I added RemoteApp to launch WordPad, For windows 8 I did not add any RemoteApp programs. Everything now appears to be fine from a setup perspective however if I go to https://testIIS.testVw.OurCompanyName.com/RDWeb and log in as the use Administrator (or any orher user) I don't see the virtual desktops I created nor the RemoteApp publishing of WordPad. I tried adding a licensing server, using testDC as the server but that made no difference. What step did I miss in setting this up that is causing this not to show up on RDWeb? If any additional information is needed pleas let me know. I have tried every possible thing I can think of and I am just groping around in the dark now.     I want to access my IIS hosted application over LAN. First I installed a DNS server. The DNS configuration steps are: Go to DNS Manager - right click on System Name - click on configure a DNS Server. DNS Server wizard open -, click on next button - Select radio button "forward lookup zone" click on next button. In the second window. click on radio button "The server maintains the zone" and then click next. Give the zone name "example.com" Click on radio button, "Do Not allow dynamic updates". and then click next button. In the next window, click on radio button "No it should not forward query" and then click next button. Complete the configure a DNS server wizard and then click on finish button. After it is managing the DNS records: In DNS server wizard. open tree of forward lookup zone and right click on the new zone name "example.com" - properties and click on "Start of authority" and write values on text boxes serial number=1 primary server=systemname.domainname responsible person=hostmaster.domainname Click on server name, highlight domain name, click on edit button and enter IP address of the server where I host my application. Highlight new zone name and right click on it and click "New Host" option. In this window there are three text boxes: Name(user parent name if blank)=scoring Fully Qualified Domain Name=scoring.example.com IP Address= My IP Address and check on "Create associated pointer(PTR) record" and click on "Add Host" Host button and then click done button. I have host header for my application is "scoring" on port 80 and its working fine on server my application setting are I have change its, Advance setting --> Application Pool Identity --> Local System application can access on server with host name "scoring" but it can not access on machines on LAN. When I change LAN machine host file that is under, C:/windows/system32/driver/etc/host and edit it and enter host name with hosted machine IP like this: scoring 192.168.1.20 By making these changes I can run the application over LAN machines as I mentioned above DNS setting by which I can run App over LAN with out editing the client's host file. What mistake am I doing in this configuration?

The configuration is as follows. Some of the clients running the Data Collector are domain members, but some are not. I am working under the assumption that this is a Windows file sharing permission issue or a network access policy issue, but of course, I could be wrong. It is my understanding that the Data Collector runs in the security context of the SYSTEM account, which for domain members appears on the network as MYDOMAIN\machineaccount. It is also my understanding from reading numerous pieces of documentation that setting the ANONYMOUS LOGON permissions as I have above should allow these computer accounts and non-domain-joined computers to access the share. To test connectivity, I set up the Windows XP Mode virtual machine (VM) on ACT-Server. In the VM, I opened a command prompt running as SYSTEM (using the old "at" command trick). I used this command prompt to run explorer.exe. In this Windows Explorer instance, I typed \ACT-Server\ACT into the address bar, and then I was prompted for logon credentials. The goal, though, was not to be prompted. I also used the "net use /delete" command in the command prompt window to delete connections to the ACT-Server\IPC$ share each time my connection attempt failed. I have made sure that the appropriate exceptions are Since ACT-Server is a domain member, the "Network access: Sharing and security model for local accounts" security policy is set to "Classic - local users authenticate as themselves". In spite of this, I still tried enabling the Guest account and adding permissions for it on the share to no effect. What am I missing here? How do I allow anonymous logons to a shared folder as a step toward getting my ACT Data Collectors to deposit their data correctly? Am I even on the right track, or is the issue elsewhere?

  • Adding SSI support causes mod_dir "trailing slash" redirect to stop working

    I have enabled SSI using the following directives in .htaccess AddHandler server-parsed .html AddOutputFilter INCLUDES html However when I add these, the trailing slash redirects stop working. For eg. http://testwp.humbug.in/test/index.html works fine but http://testwp.humbug.in/test/ doesn't work. In chrome it gives a "Error 324 (net::ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE)" error while in firefox it shows a blank page. What additional configuration do I need for both mod_dir and mod_include to work properly?

  • What Triggers a syncronization between Exchange 2007 Mail Store and Edge Servers?

    We are using Exchange 2007 for our mail. In our configuration, we need to add an alias to each users mailbox. When we do, the Edge server, another Exchange 2007 box, will reject the alias with a User Unknown error until the next morning. I seem to recall that in Exchange 2003, you could force an update from the Management console, but I can not find a way in 2007. It is obvious that a sync job is scheduled to run each night, but I cannot find it.

  • No Connectivity to ESX guests on one server

    I have a number of ESX servers hosting VM's, all but one of these works ok, however one server has a problem where any guests on not contactable over the network. The ESX hosts is contactable, is integrated int VCenter, and you can even live migrate VM's to and from this server, but any VM's on that server are unable to talk to the rest of the network. The VM's NIC is shown as Up and has the right IP configuration, and as soon as you move it back to another host it works fine.

  • Can I get simple name resolution on the local network without DNS, on a Mac?

    I've got Mantis running on a Linux VM with a Win2k8 server host. I installed Samba with the following configuration: [global] workgroup = COMPANY netbios name = MANTIS security = share Now on all our windows machines people can simple go to http://mantis, rather than http://172.16.0.20. However, this doesn't appear to work on the Mac machines. Any ideas how I can sort this without changing anything on the Windows server?

    I have a few MP4s that i want to upload to my flickr account but they have a maximum size of 500mb as mine is only about 550 i was planing to simply split them in half then upload them, but i want to make sure all the meta data is included but it does not seem to be.   • How to enable Windows Mobile 6 logs?

    Hi All, Someone told me that one can enable Windows Mobile simply by creating a bunch of registry values as explained in this TechEd article. The article is in the scopê of MS System Configuration Manager but my client tells me that the logs can be created even without System Config Manager. I tried but I couldn't get the system to create any such log file. Can anyone explain how to get this logs (or why I can't get them)? TIA,

  • Shorewall: temporarily drop incoming traffic except port 22?

    When I work on configuration files, especially of the mail server, I would like to temporarily drop all the incoming traffic except the port 22. So, I don't risk to lose incoming mails if I need to move the mail server to another server, or something like that. Using shorewall, how I could do that? I was thinking to create a rules file to divert all the traffic to a non-existant internal ip and switch it with the normal file when needed.
