  • Adobe flash player not working with Amazon Prime

    I have ubuntu 12.04 64bit using Google Chrome. I had chromium from the app center then today amazon prime video stopped working. It told me to update Flash. So I uninstalled chromium and installed Google Chrome. Didn't work. Then I downloaded flash for ubuntu via apt. That one gave me a "flash version isn't supported" message. The flash version was 11. Now I tried http://apt.ubuntu.com/p/flashplugin-installer It worked, but right in the middle of the video, it popped the error message again. Sorry we are unable to stream this video. This is likely because your Flash Player needs to be updated. So I don't know what happened.

  • Windows 2008 and Truecrypt: can't access shared folder called "media"

    On my Windows 2008 system, I've attached an external USB drive that's encrypted using Truecrypt. Once I mounted the Truecrypt drive, I share some of the directories from that drive using Windows file sharing. I tried sharing a folder called "media" and when I try to access that folder from a Vista client on my LAN via \myserver\media, I get this error: \myserver\media is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions. An unexpected network error occurred. If I share the folder media under some name such as fizzbuzz then I can access \myserver\fizzbuzz w/o any errors. Any clues as to why this is happening?   • Track a Adobe Flash app hosted on multiple domains with Google Analytics

    I'm working on a flash app that's gonna be distributed to more and more partners (and obviously domains). It needs to be tracked aggregated and also separately. I implemented Google Analytics using gaforflash, tracking virtual pageviews and events inside the flash app. What I want to achieve: View an aggregated report of all partners. Identify the partner not by the domain (where the flash is used), but by a partnerID. Each partner needs access to the report of his domain. (no admin rights needed) I came up with this solution: Using only one "Web property" in Google Analytics. UA-XXXXXX-4 .example.com Set a custom/virtual hostname per partner. (GA's "utmhn" parameter) partner1.example.com partner2.example.com Create a profile for each partner, setting the filter to include only the relevant "subdomain" Problems that came up: The gaforflash library doesn't support overriding the host name. Possible workaround: The gaforflash source code is available, so I could add the functionality. Any goal from the "master" profile is not copied to the partners profile. profile 1: include traffic from hostname ^partner1\. profile 2: include traffic from hostname ^partner2\. Is it (very) bad to fake the hostname? Are there better approaches? Or what improvements could you think of? UPDATE: I'm looking primarily for a solid data structure inside Google Analytics regardless of the flash implementation. The only limitations: We need an aggregated view across all partners Our partners need to have access to their subset of data We want to identify the partner by a custom partnerID, not the domain

  • Post Error, Fixed/Removable Media Error

    Hi, I really do not know what I am missing here. I ordered parts for a new server. The board is an Intel s3420GP. From the diagnostic LEDs I get the error message: 0xB1h which corresponds to "Fixed Media: Disabling fixed media" and 0xB8h which corresponds to "Removable Media: Resetting removable media device." I can not for the life of me figure out what it is talking about. I have two identical motherboards and both gave the error message. I don't have a second CPU yet, so I can't test that. There are no beeps or anything. It seems the server resets every 10 seconds or so (the speaker does work, I put the RAM in the wrong slots on purpose to test this out, and the correct error POST code came up) Please help me, I'm not sure where else to turn or to ask

    I'm going to write an application with the Air/Flex-Framework. I'm looking for Best Practise and general Design Patterns for designing software especially in Air/Flex. I have experience with this framework but never had the pleasure to write a piece of software from scratch. For instance: I stumbled across lots of software written in Air/Flex with nearly infinity global vars :-) Most of the software I saw was not object-oriented How can I pack the asynchronous method calls nicely? I'm familiar with general design patterns by gamma. I'm looking more for advise in designing good quality software with Adobe Air/Flex.

    I have a requiremnt where my Air application loads ZIP files instead of swf. The zip contains all swf ,images and other files.     Hi, I am trying to use the xmlEncoder to write to xml file in net-beans but it doesnt work.     I have an XPS15 laptop, core i5, 8GB ram. Whenever I login my laptop I here the startup bongo sound. But my sound system just doesn't play anything, may it be a short audio clip or a movie.     We're currently implementing a voucher system on our site which will allow our users to obtain a 25+% discount on certain products, provided they donate 10% of the purchase price to charity. We will offer the ability to share the discounts via social media in return for larger discounts to the sharer for each person who clicks through the link and buys an item. I understand that social links have SEO benifits, but this appears to be based on lots of people sharing the same link. If our voucher users share a unique link i.e. http://ourdomain.com/sipsfesdf rather than a fixed link http://ourdomain.com/product-name will we still receive the same benifts? Should we instead share something like http://ourdomain.com/product-name/sipsfesdf Thanks in advance.

    Yes, I know that most questions ending with "like Windows" are odd, but this one really bothers me ;) If you ever used some DLNA renderer (in my case DLNA-enabled loudspeakers) you probably know the handy "play to"-feature. From my knowledge of DLNA stuff I would guess, that Windows Media Player is both a DLNA server and control point here, so my question is: Is there any similar software for Linux accomplishing the same thing with minimal configuration effort?   • over reporting in google analytics - social media stats

    I have a client and their traffic from social media reads thus: 80% from facebook 1% from Twitter This suggestsd they are not exploiting twitter at all and this was in my presentation but my boss took it out claiming twitter stats are under reported in google analytics. I can't substantiate this claim and wonder where she got this idea from. Can anyone shed light on this? Are my stats wrong and should I disregard these figures? but 80-1 seems like one hell of an under report! thanks c
