  • Help with database design

    Hey im new to database design and having trouble trying to figure this one out. I have two tables Team and Fixtures. Team has rows of football teams and Fixture has 2 of those football teams in each row (home and away team). I want to link team id to home_team and away_team but it doesnt allow me to.   • mysql : possible to put IF statment in LEFT JOIN ?

    Ok so i want to get an artists info from the db, but i want to know if they have any forthcoming events. To do this i need to traverse 2 tables, where events_artists is a 2 col link table... (this doesnt work but is what id like to do) SELECT art.*, events.event_id FROM art LEFT JOIN events_artists ON art.art_id = events_artists.art_id LEFT JOIN events ON events_artists.event_id = events.event_id IF ( {criteria} ) what should i be doing here to get this to work?!!

    I do something like UPDATE OR REPLACE someTable SET a=1, b=2 WHERE c=3 I expect if it doesnt exist it will be inserted into the DBs. But nothing happens and i get no errors. How can i insert data, replace it if it already exist and use a where for the condition (instead of replacing BC of a unique ID)

    Lets assume myProp is @property (retain) NSString * myProp and synthesized for us.... self.myProp = @"some value";//string literal? self.myProp = [NSString stringWithString:@"some value"]; Is there a difference here? Is the first one a string literal that doesnt get autoreleased or is it just in memory for it's current scope and I dont have to worry about it?

  • ASP.NET MVC - Where do you put your .js files if you dont want to store them in /Scripts?

    I have a number of .js files that I would like to be stored in the same directories as their views (they're specific to a view - its simply to keep the javascript separate from the view's HTML) However, adding them to the /Views/ControllerName/ directory wont work because when a request is made to the webserver for the .js file: <script type="text/javascript" src="/Views/ControllerName/myscript.js"></script> It would essentially be directed at the 'Views' controller which obviously doesnt exist.   • Eclipse question - panels don't get restored when double clicking

    You know how, in Eclipse, when you double click on a file tab (which shows the class name), the editor gets expanded to the whole screen minimizing other panels? Well normally I just double click again on the tab to restore everything, but all of the sudden double clicking again doesnt do anything (the editor remains in full screen and all other panels minimized)! I am not sure what I did to cause this. Any ideas how to get it back to normal? Thanks.

The website which is hosted on a different server explains the usage of the app, shows a tour, plans, contains a blog on related stuff and so on. I want to route to my_domain/app and the app should respond to that url. The custom_domain add-on doesnt allow to enter directories. How can I configure that or how would you realize that scenario?
