• Adding Facebook IPv6 to Centos, getting CurlException 7

  I'm correctly get following error. After searching about this issue, correct me if i'm wrong, I believe that adding/configuring IPv6 should solve the problem. PHP Fatal error: Uncaught CurlException: 7: Failed to connect to 2a03:2880:10:8f02:face:b00c:0:26: Network is unreachable\n thrown in /var/www/vhosts/facedex.net/httpdocs/fb/apps/seemyfuture/src/base_facebook.php on line 886 The problem is I dont know the right way to add it.   I want to automoate some PPT - PDF conversions, so I want to run openoffice in headless mode for scripting. On my machine with X running I can start opemoffice in headless mode via soffice -accept="socket,port=8100;urp;" -headless This doesn't seem to work on a server with X not running. $ soffice -accept="socket,port=8100;urp;" -headless /usr/lib/openoffice/program/soffice.bin X11 error: Can't open display: Set DISPLAY environment variable, use -display option or check permissions of your X-Server (See "man X" resp. "man xhost" for details) $ The error doesnt seem to make sense as well, as the point of specifying -headless was so that I do not need X, while this command seems to look for X.

• Windows SBS 2003 DNS taking over network

  I have Windows Small Business Server 2003 premium edition on my new server box, this hosts a webapp on IIS. It has set up a DNS Server to solve requests to the webapp. I have a linux server/router that has does DNAT and portforwards port 80 to the new box. My linux router serves as a firewall and dhcp When i plug the SBS2003 server to the network, it leaves everyone on my network without web browsing, it looks like the DNS requests are going to the new server. I configured the DNS forwarders on SBS2003 to my ISP dns but it doesnt work... Is there something i am missing?

  i wonder if ips are bound to specific geolocations? lets say that i've got this ip 111.111.111.111 from my ISP to my home computer in France. is it possible for me to use this ip in Norway? and the same goes with domain names. if iv'e got a domain name like mydomain.de, does it mean that my computer has to be in Germany or could it be located in Denmark? cause i always wonder where the actual server is located every time a website got different top level domains, eg google.dk, google.fr, google.de and so on. are they located in same country as the top domain or doesnt it matter?

• Videoediting slow on windows with HD footage in fileformat .MOV

  Hi, My camera a Canon 5D mark II serves me .mov files in HD - but these are a pain in the neck to edit on my pc. I have tried Premier, Vegas, Pinnacle etc - but it is almost impossible to edit and do a movie. I do have a good computer with windows7 but that doesnt help me, and I dont want to buy a new monster pc just for that task. Question: I could manage to convert the files, but what would be the best format? I dont want to loose to much quality. Anyone have any ideas? Best regards, Joakim

• network issue ubuntu 8.04 in vmware esx

  ok, this is really pissing me off I have one ubuntu 8.04 instance running on vmware (esx) which decided after a reboot to stop resolving dns requests, I also cant connect to it using ssh although I can ping the server and its really that server (when I shutdown the server the ping also stops) stuff I tried: - reboot again :) - nslookup - serverip - setting networking to dhcp - offering some cute kittens to lucifer - removing the virtual nic and adding another (to get a different mac) - migrating the instance to another esx host - drinking 20 cups of espresso - stopped all services - running dnsmasq on another server and connecting to that dns - tcpdumping - disabling ip6 symptoms: cant resolve anything nslookup just says "no servers found..." although I can ping the servers traceroute to gateway doesnt work (even with traceroute -4 -n gatewayip) collegues laughing at me any thoughts

• Im getting the "Console Window Host has stopped working" popup in a few places.

  Im running Windows 7 on a 17 inch Macbook Pro, late 2011. Last Saturday I opened my laptop(It was either asleep or shutdown before hand) and suddenly had a whole bunch of problem. First off I got a few of pop-errors, my macbook was out of battery. I also had problems with my trackpad(no scrolling or right-click), which I fixed by reinstalling bootcamp. Now a days when ever I run cmd I get the popup Console Window Host has stopped working If I chose the Close the program I get another popup The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142) Click OK to close the application. This doesnt happen just with cmd if un/install a program I get similar popups(first one). And in some other case like in visual studio when i was working on class work.

  hi there i am running server 2003, and seem to have this problem where the server starts kicking out users after a while, especially when they log off, they cant log back in, or the printers on the metwork stop connecting and they cant print to it. when i check the server, i notice that the server has 2 IP addresses, even though it has a static IP, it seems to pick up another IP address as well, but when you go into teh IPV set up, its not there, but of you run the IP scan utility tool, it picks it up. to correct this, i either can log off the server, then log back in, and the IP disappears, or sometimes this doesnt work, and i need to restart the server, but thsi happens like every 2 days or so.....can anyone out there help?

• Issues with partitions WIN 7

  I was trying to make some space to install linux in my HP notebook. The computer had 4 partitions, I made space shrinking one and created a new one (facepalm) using the windows partitioning tool. It show me some warning message saying something about dynamic partitions, I ingored it, and went to the linux live CD. I installed linux in the new partition, after the installation completed it told me that GRUB cannot be installed I dont remember why. So now, it doesnt boot, neither windows nor linux. After google for a while I found the diskpart command, it gives me this info: DISKPART> list disk DISK ### Status -------- --------------- DISK 0 Invalid DISKPART> select disk 0 DISKPART> select partition Partition ### TYPE ------------- -------------- Partition 1 Dynamic Data Partition 2 Dynamic Data Partition 3 Dynamic Data Partition 4 Primary <- I think I put linux here Any idea whats happening? • Different color prompts for different machines when using terminal/ssh?

  I have 5 machines I constantly ssh into to do work. Its getting increasingly frustrating when I am issuing wrong commands on wrong boxes. Luckily I havent done anything bad yet. I wanted to know if there is any hack which I can hardcode which will display my prompt in different colors based on the machine I am ssh into? Such as blue for desktop1, purple for laptop, red for server etc? Is this possible? Currently I am using this command export PS1="\e[0;31m[\u@\h \W]\$ \e[m " taken from here http://www.cyberciti.biz/faq/bash-shell-change-the-color-of-my-shell-prompt-under-linux-or-unix/ but it obviously doesnt work across ssh. Also, if you have any other cool bash tips for helping me ease my sight will be wonderful. • Server 2008 Hard Faults

  Hey all, plase bear with me as I haven't looked at a server in a very long time. The problem I am having is with a Windows 2008 Standard FE Service Pack 2 Intel Xeon X3430 @ 2.40 2.39 GHZ 4 GB Memory 64 Bit There seems to be no problems other than the physical memory peaking at 91%, always with over 100 Hard Faults Per Second. To my understanding hard faults should be fairly rare on a machine with. Are there any logs I can show you? Or investigate myself. The general performance of the machine is ok, i can access SBS2008 and change settings fairly smoothly without hangs etc. However, we connect to the server and do quite a bit of SQL via an application. For a record to retrieve say 20 rows, it can take 20+ seconds. Last friday we installed some windows updates. After the reboot tomcat doesnt start with error: Error occurred during initialization of VM Could not reserve enough space for object heap We reduced the parameter -Xmx1024m to -Xmx768m and now tomcat starts.   I have this annoying UI bug when using xCode 4.3.2. Every time i press the space bar, the whole text scroll view jumps. Does anyone know why this happens, or how to stop it? edit: is happens, for example, when I'm writing comments in the code and the sentence contains a space. IT can be anywhere on the document, even in the center, doesnt have to be at the bottom of the page. After it "jumps" it goes back to where it was.

  Hello, I am having windows vista home premium OS on my laptop. I am having a windows VPN setup too. All of a sudden my vpn doesnt work when my PC resumed from stand by mode. I tried all options but still I am getting that error. CoId={5B82082D-9236-4AF9-900B-4E8072341C76}: The user workgroup\user dialed a connection named VPNName which has failed. The error code returned on failure is 0. I am also getting the following error when I verified the event logs The user workgroup\user dialed a connection named VpnName which has failed. • User cannot book a room resource in Exchange 2010

  Im having a problem with a specific user not being able to book a room resource. No error message is generated at all. The user attempts to add the room as a meeting resource and it simply doesnt register with the resources calendar. I have tested the resource with other accounts and other rooms for this user but it is only this room that is having issues for this user. This Exchange server was migrated from 2007 to 2010. All rooms except for the problem room were created back on Exchange 2007. This new room was created with Exchange 2010. Maybe this clue has something to do with the problem? • mac osx snow leopard menu get stuck

  hi i am using mac osx 10.6.3 (snow leopard) and sometimes when i have a window selected the file menu doesnt update in relation to the window im currently on. i have to click around on different windows then go back to the window i want for the file menu to display. this really annoys me - the one thing that pisses me off on mac system. i wish they had copied how microsoft is doing it. anyone know a fix for this? or its something i have to live with.

I have a serious problem, since something uses a lot of RAM(3.94Gb) and I see "stairs" in taskmanager, it rises to +3Gb RAM and it drops to about 2Gb and then rises slowly again, and suddenly drops. I tryed installing this version again and other versions, newer ones, but no effect. Ive even tryed disconnecting other harddrives while I installed it, and then installed NOD32 and updated it. How could I know what is using that much RAM? P.S.: I was suspecting superfetch service, I disabled it, restarted pc, and it didnt work, since the memory is the highest point when I login with password, it is really annoying since I need about 1minute to see my desktop, neither alone try anything else. After loging in it slowly drops and after random time it starts rising again. That doesnt happen immediately after a fresh windows install. And how the drivers go, I tryed older drivers for GPU, and newest ones.

• Some people suddenly say they cant access my site, but me and all others can

  I have had this problem many times before and im still unable to find out what is causing it. It happned to me some months ago but it got fixed by itself and had already gone back to normal. Everything was working fine for quite a while until 2 days ago. Some people are reporting they cant access my site, they get a 404 error, however i can access it normally and many other users cant. I dont know whats the common denominator since both groups of people are from the same countries, use the same browsers, OS, etc. so the issue doesnt seem related to that. I have reported this problem before to my both my host and domain registrar but none of them claim responsibility for that. Who is then to blame? Waht can i do to find out whats causing the issue and solve it? Thank you.

• Route gameserver traffic through cloudflare?

  I use cloudflare for my website and we have a gameserver I was wondering if it is possible to route traffic through cloudflare. This recently sprung into my head when I realized that I could route Shoutcast through another of cloudflares port (8080) which does not do any performance enhancing or anything it just acts as a reverse proxy and stops DDoS. I then tried by setting up a subdomain with my gameserver IP cloudflared and then pinged the IP and Port. It seems to have connections but when actually connecting via the game it doesnt. Any ideas?

• Spoofing domains - using one domain to look at another without frame redirect

  Hiya, In Plesk 9.2.2 does anyone know how the following can be achieved? I've got domain1.co.uk registered in plesk, but the domain has not been set up with any nameservers or A records, so it is unreachable from the web. However, I need to test it while we get the domain1.co.uk nameservers etc sorted over the next week or so. SO, i've got sparedomain.co.uk registered, with the nameservers and A records pointing to the server, and sure enough it displays the default plesk "theres no website here yet page" . bingo. Now, how can I set up sparedomain.co.uk on my plesk server, so it displays all the data held on the plesk account for domain1.co.uk? Frame forwarding doesnt work - because you get errors saying "domain1.co.uk cannot be found" in your browser - i need a server solution to spoof it all. Anyone got any ideas? Thanks!

I am having issues getting google-chrome browser into full KIOSK MODE with no browser bar on a linux platform Looking through the google forums I have found numerous postings on how to get Chrome to show full kiosk mode BUT tried to execute with --kiosk but doesnt seem to get the job done. I dont know if this is platform specific or not, but any useful information would help. I know F11 will display the browser in full kiosk mode, with no browser bar BUT is there a way to do this with a linux script and no need for a monkey pressing F11??

• MAC OSX 10.5.8 need to save rsync password with ssh-copy-id

  Hello all, I'll start by saying I'm very new to MAC but comfortable in using the command line thanks to using a linux a lot. I currently have rsync setup to run between a MAC OSX 10.5.8 server to a Linux Centos 5.5 Server. This is the command I'm running on the MAC server: rsync -avhe ssh "/Path/To/Data" [email protected]:data/ As it does it prompts for a password but I need it to save the password. After looking around I need to use: ssh-keygen -t dsa save the passkey and then move it over to the Linux server using: ssh-copy-id -i .ssh/id_dsa.pub [email protected] But ssh-copy-id doesnt seem to exist on the MAC server. How do I copy this key over? I've tried searching for the answer myself but the help seems to be all over the place for this.. Any help is greatly appreciated. Scott

• Switch new hard drive with old hard drive (containing files)

  So my old pc is dead. I took off the HDD cause my files are in there. I have this new pc but the hdd is only 80gb. There are no important files in there so i can just throw it away. I want to switch it with my old HDD. But: I cant just plug in the old hdd to my new pc right? If not, how can i switch to that old hdd without losing my files? Will there be risk for my new pc when I plug in that old HDD (i mean i dont want to have 2 dead PCs) (My first plan was actually just adding the old HDD but my pc doesnt have room left for that.)
