    We have a RHEL5 Linux Server with few Windows XP client boxes. Using Samba server for share files between systems. My server working well in all systems but one Windows XP machine didn't connect to server. Here i give some screen shots for clear idea, For Check network connection i use ping, It working well. I use above way for connect to server. For all other systems it working well. I am getting error message like this. ** I am using squid for proxy in Linux, For me internet also working well in that Windows XP system. ** I Deleted stored user name and password for samba in windows XP. Help me to solve this problem.

  • OSX: Python packages fail to install, error message "/usr/local/bin: File Exists"

    I keep trying to install django and other python packages, and I keep getting the exact same error message: Installing django-admin.py script to /usr/local/bin error: /usr/local/bin: File exists So I look to make sure that my /usr/local folder is okay. At first glance it appears okay, until I try cd-ing into my bin. It says it can't because it's not a directory. Peculiar, I thought, so then I tried a Anchorage:local khotchkiss$ ls -a -l total 26168 drwxr-xr-x 6 root wheel 204 Dec 26 20:18 . drwxr-xr-x@ 14 root wheel 476 Feb 24 12:54 .. -rwxr-xr-x@ 1 root wheel 13395080 Oct 22 23:04 bin drwxr-xr-x 8 root wheel 272 Dec 26 20:18 git drwxr-xr-x 4 root wheel 136 Dec 18 11:31 include drwxr-xr-x 12 root wheel 408 Dec 18 11:31 lib And haven't a clue of what the 'bin' is, why its so large, and why its preventing me from installing python packages. Any clue?

  • https post message fail, where is server log?

    I am receiving an error when sending a https post message to my server and I am looking to get more information. I am looking for ssl error log in apache but I cannot find it. I have looked in /usr/local/apache/logs/secure and I don't see the proper error. Should I be looking in a different place? UPDATE: Fyi, the connection is timing out or being lost when I use https and I am trying to figure out why. When I use http it works fine.

  • Can't download updates for reinstalled Office 2000 on WinXP OS "expected version not found" error message

    I replaced HD and reinstalled WinXP Pro and successfully downloaded all of the service packs and security updates. I've reinstalled my licensed version of Office 2000 (upgrade version from Office 97). The software installs and is functional; but when trying to install updates SR-1 or SR-1a or any individual security update I get error message "expected version of product not found". Microsoft no longer provides support for this legacy version of office. I can't find any support documents in Microsoft's database that addresses this issue. This is my sister's computer and I've already come out-of-pocket $100 for hardware (not counting the $$hours of labor). She only uses MS Word for minimal correspondence. No desire to spend $100+ for new version of Office. I would greatly appreciate any suggested fixes for this problem.

  • Servlet receives null from Remote EJB3 Session Bean

    I'm sure this is a beginner error... So I have a JEE6 application with entities, facades (implementing the persistence layer) and Stateless Session Beans (EJB3) with Remote interfaces (providing access to the entities via facades). This is working fine. Via the SLSB I can retrieve and manipulate entities. Now, I'm trying to do this from a Web Application (deployed on the same Glassfish, entity+interface definitions from JEE app imported as separate jar). I have a Servlet, that receives an instance of the SLSB injected. I get it to retrieve an entity, and the following happens (I can see it in the logs): the remote SLSB gets instantiated, its method called SLSB instantiates the facade, calls the 'get' method facade retrieves object from DB, returns it SLSB returns the object to the caller (all is good until here) calling servlet receives .. null !! What is going wrong? This should work, right?     After years on GTalk, I recently switched to Pidgin for my IM needs. Almost all is ok with me, though there's on thing that bugs me. It shows the name of the author beside each consecutive message. e.g. joce: Hey joce: Long time no see! joce: How are you? Bob: Hey! Bob: Indeed! Instead of (as it is in GTalk): joce: Hey Long time no see! How are you? bob: Hey! Indeed! Is there a setting that I've missed or a plugin that could do that for me?

  • Service Oriented Architecture & Domain-Driven Design

    I've always developed code in a SOA type of way. This year I've been trying to do more DDD but I keep getting the feeling that I'm not getting it. At work our systems are load balanced and designed not to have state. The architecture is: Website ===Physical Layer== Main Service ==Physical Layer== Server 1/Service 2/Service 3/Service 4 Only Server 1,Service 2,Service 3 and Service 4 can talk to the database and the Main Service calls the correct service based on products ordered. Every physical layer is load balanced too. Now when I develop a new service, I try to think DDD in that service even though it doesn't really feel like it fits. I use good DDD principles like entities, value types, repositories, aggregates, factories and etc. I've even tried using ORM's but they just don't seem like they fit in a stateless architecture. I know there are ways around it, for example use IStatelessSession instead of ISession with NHibernate. However, ORM just feel like they don't fit in a stateless architecture. I've noticed I really only use some of the concepts and patterns DDD has taught me but the overall architecture is still SOA. I am starting to think DDD doesn't fit in large systems but I do think some of the patterns and concepts do fit in large systems. Like I said, maybe I'm just not grasping DDD or maybe I'm over analyzing my designs? Maybe by using the patterns and concepts DDD has taught me I am using DDD? Not sure if there is really a question to this post but more of thoughts I've had when trying to figure out where DDD fits in overall systems and how scalable it truly is. The truth is, I don't think I really even know what DDD is?

    I was reading this question and realized it might be helpful for entry- and pro-level developers alike (including myself) to have a common reference for best practices in using gdb. Many questions asked on Stack Overflow could easily be solved by taking some time to step some code in a debugger, and it would be good to have a community-approved resource to "teach them how to fish", so to speak. Even for those seasoned veterans who occasionally find themselves in gdb when they are accustomed to a GUI-tastic debugger might benefit from those who are much more familiar with the command line tool. For starters (both to gdb and to prime this thread) I submit: Ninefinger's gdb primer The gdb quick reference guide, which is useful for telling you what commands are available but not how best to use them. My hope is this thread is a seed planted that is of continued value to the community. If by "continued value" the community decides to nix it altogether, well then the masses have spoken.

  • Test Driven Development For Complex Methods involving external dependency

    I am implementing a Service Contract for WCF Service. As per TDD I wrote a test case to just pass it using hardcoded values. After that I started to put real logic into my Service implementation. The actual logic relies on 3-4 external service and database. What should I do to my original test case that I wrote ? If i Keep it same in order to make test pass it will have to call several other external services. So I have question in general what should I do if I write a test case for a Business Facade first using TDD and later when I add real logic, if it involves external dependency.

  • why would outlook not return a notification on trying to recall a message

    i sent an email and then tried to recall the email. After hours post doing this, i didn't recieve any notification (success or failure of this action). when i click on the mail in my sent mail, it simply says: You attempted to recall this message on [xddf] . .. since i didn't receive notification if it was successful or not how do i know whats going on. Why would it take so long? should i assume the attempt to recall failed? Should i click on the email and try recalling again?

  • Domain driven design value object, how to ensure a unique value

    Hi, I am building a questionnaire creator. A questionnaire consists of sections, sections consist of pages and pages consist of questions. Questionnaire is the aggregate root. Sections, pages and questions can have what are called shortcodes which should be unique within a questionnaire (but not unique within the database hence they are not strictly an identity). I intended to make the shortcode a value object and wanted to include the business rule that it should be unique within the questionnaire but I am unsure how to ensure that. My understanding is that the value object should not access the repository or service layer so how does it find out if it is unique? Thanks for any help. Darren

  • Too Many Public Methods Forced by Test Driven Development

    A very specific question from a novice to TDD: I seperate my tests and my app into different packages. Thus, most of my app methods have to be public for tests to access them. As I progress, it becomes obvious that some methods could become private, but if I make that change, the tests that access them won't work. Am I missing a step, or doing something wrong, or is this just one downfall of TDD?

  • python-xmpp and looping through list of recipients to receive and IM message

    I can't figure out the problem and want some input as to whether my Python code is incorrect, or if this is an issue or design limitation of Python XMPP library. I'm new to Python by the way. Here's snippets of code in question below. What I'd like to do is read in a text file of IM recipients, one recipient per line, in XMPP/Jabber ID format. This is read into a Python list variable. I then instantiate an XMPP client session and loop through the list of recipients and send a message to each recipient. Then sleep some time and repeat test. This is for load testing the IM client of recipients as well as IM server. There is code to alternately handle case of taking only one recipient from command line input instead of from file. What ends up happening is that Python does iterate/loop through the list but only last recipient in list receives message. Switch order of recipients to verify.     I am doing my first steps with TDD. The problem is (as probably with everyone starting with TDD), I never know very well what kind of unit tests to do when I start working in my projects. Let's assume I want to write a Stack class with the following methods(I choose it as it's an easy example): Stack<T> - Push(element : T) - Pop() : T - Seek() : T - Count : int - IsEmpty : boolean How would you approch this? I never understood if the idea is to test a few corner cases for each method of the Stack class or start by doing a few "use cases" with the class, like adding 10 elements and removing them. What is the idea? To make code that uses the Stack as close as possible to what I'll use in my real code? Or just make simple "add one element" unit tests where I test if IsEmpty and Count were changed by adding that element? How am I supposed to start with this?

    I am using Subversion 1.6.6 on Ubuntu 10.04. I would like to insert a carriage return, or linefeed, or newline into my commit message so that when reading the log, the comments are formatted appropriately. It works fine when I use the system editor, or specify a file for the commit comment, but what I really want is to be able to do something like the following: svn ci -m "This is the first line\nThis is the second line" and have the comment presented as: This is the first line This is the second line My example does not work, it produces output: This is the first line\nThis is the second line So, is there a way to do this? If so, how?

  • Directly paste clipboard image into gmail message

    I would like to be able to directly paste my clipboard image into a Gmail message. I could then just do alt-print screen, go to Gmail compose and press ctrl-v to embed a screenshot, for instance. I'm not talking about embedding a image from disk into my email; that's easily done. I want to skip the step where I have to save it to disk first. Eudora/Thunderbird support this. There's a program that does this, it's at picturepaste.com, but it's paid (and and the website uses Javascript for no obvious reasons). You can see the demo movie there if it's not clear what I would like. I would like to find a free alternative, or make one myself, but I have no clue how picturepaste works.

    Hello, I have plain POCOs here and as INotifyPropertyChanged is a Interface for the Views need its implemented in the ViewModel not the Model. Now I want to show validation errors in the View beside every textbox the user typed in data. I do not want to implemented the IDataErrorInfo interface in my Models because lets assume I am not allowed to touch them as they come from another Service/Supplier. I do not want to put my IsCustomerFirstNameLenthValid Method into the Model because I could not have access to it or I just dont want to pollute my Models with interface`s having nothing to do there! How can I validate my naked POCO`s in the ViewModel and forward the results to the View by showing validation errors ?

  • Input not supported message when monitor is powered off then back on

    I've been getting a message on my monitor where "Input not supported" is floating around. This only happens when I manually turn the monitor off and then later turn it back on. Leaving the monitor on and allowing it to go to the screen saver doesn't seem to cause the issue (but I prefer to turn the monitor off if I'm going to be away from the computer for any length of time). Any ideas what might cause this, only when the monitor is turned off manually?
