  Some Questions about Android and Google Directions Service: Is there a native way on Android to use the Directions Service from Google or are there any nice Wrapper Frameworks? I would like to retrieve the time needed to get from A to B and maybe show the route in a table and/or map. As far as I know directions can only be retrieved for "walking" and "driving". Is there a way (maybe not from google) to get this Information also for public transports or "biking" ? Thx a lot for your help!

  This is almost good find *.txt -print0 | xargs -0 rm -f And i want to have something like that echo *.txt ./zad3.sh | xargs -l rm -f First version is good because I can delete file with white spaces but I can't use my script to select file to delete. Second version I can select files but I can't delete file with white spaces. I want to find files with end on .txt and delete some of them. zad3.sh is a script wich is returning file name if i agree to delete it rm catch the name and delete it. It works only for file without white space and special characters. Second version is better but i cant put my script inside it. find *.txt -print0| xargs -0 ./zad3.sh |xargs rm -f it works almost but i cant pass arg to rm and part of my code Thx

• JButtons don't imediatly change on mouse event

  I'm using the java swing library to develop a board game called DAO. The problem is that after the human player makes its move, by clicking on the JButton with the piece image that he wants to play, I call the computer AI routine but inside the mouse event function. By doing this only when the function returns, the computer ends its turn, do the JButtons refresh their Images (setIcon comes in). I'd like to know how can I force the JButtons to change their image at the moment they are clicked and not only when the mouse event function ends (as I need to handle data inside it). I've tried all of this myButtons[i][j].setIcon(xIcon); myButtons[i][j].revalidate(); myButtons[i][j].repaint(); myButtons[i][j].validate(); None worked. Thx in advance

• Logging a user session for playback

  Running an MVC2 site against IIS7 and would like to capture more detail of how users traverse the site - ideally to the point of being able to replay even the duration between mouse clicks - feedback of where people pause and/or backtrack. I could do this with flash but that's no longer an option. Now it's just IIS7 via asp.net f4. That should be enough IIS7 is supposed to be extensible enough that there'd be any number of 3rd party options for this sort of niche need. I'm willing to consider client-side .net components but this sure seems to be the responsibility of the server. [opps...does this belong on serverfault?] thx

  Hi, In a Java class , i am having a static list so this list is shared across all the objects of this class.The business logic in this class will run periodically which is invoked by some method with out passing instance parameters.Now I want to invoke this run method based on the list(I will add some vales into this list based on JMS) ,this list may empty sometimes and after finishing the run , i am emptying this list.Now my question is , whether I need to synchronize this list or not? Also let me know is there any other way to pass value in one object instance(Thread1) to other object instance (Thread2) other than having Static variable(static list)? Thx

  Hey I wrote a LudoGame and now I like to test it with a little GuiceInjection^^ I have an Interface IDie for my die. Now for the game I only need an IDie instead of a realdie = in tests I simply give the LudoGame a MokeDie to set up the Numbers I like to roll. The IDie has only one method: roll() which returns a int. BUT the mokeDie now has another public method: sendNextNumber() (should be clear what this does^^) Now I like to @Inject a Die and if @UseMokeDie is before a Test I'll like to pass the MokeDie but I'm very new to Guice...   I have a table_1: id custno 1 1 2 2 3 3 and a table_2: id custno qty descr 1 1 10 a 2 1 7 b 3 2 4 c 4 3 7 d 5 1 5 e 6 1 5 f When I run this query to show the minimum order quantities from every customer: SELECT DISTINCT table_1.custno,table_2.qty,table_2.descr FROM table_1 LEFT OUTER JOIN table_2 ON table_1.custno = table_2.custno AND qty = (SELECT MIN(qty) FROM table_2 WHERE table_2.custno = table_1.custno ) Then I get this result: custno qty descr 1 5 e 1 5 f 2 4 c 3 7 d Customer 1 appears twice each time with the same minimum qty (& a different description) but I only want to see customer 1 appear once. I don't care if that is the record with 'e' as a description or 'f' as a description. How could I do this ? Thx!

  I'm confused...I'm using the same code in a different document and in there it's not a problem to get a connection to the database.   I would like to use .htaccess to password protect all inner pages of Magento, except the home page. e.g. http://www.example.com/abc (password protect) http://www.example.com (home page, no need to password protect) I tried to use the setifenv request_uri = "/" => allow, but didn't work. It still password protect all pages including the homepage. I also tried a few ways inside the Magento admin URL rewrite, but those won't work either. Any expert can help? thx E

Normally, it helps me to translate that into C language. But somehow I cant find a way to do it in that case. So, I only know that in the second line with SHL the register is multiplied by 4. And that the DWORD PTR SS:[EBP-0x4] looks like an array representation but i am not sure.   Hey I try to write a littel bash script. This should copy a dir and all files in it. Then it should search each file and dir in this copied dir for a String (e.g @ForTestingOnly) and then this save the line number. Then it should go on and count each { and } as soon as the number is equals it should save againg the line number. = it should delete all the lines between this 2 numbers. • Is there a way to accept '%' as part of input that works both in python 2.6 & 3.0?

  In 2.6, if I needed to accept input that allowed a percent sign (such as "foo % bar"), I used raw_input() which worked as expected. In 3.0, input() accomplishes that same (with raw_input() having left the building). As an exercise, I'm hoping that I can have a backward-compatible version that will work with both 2.6 and 3.0. When I use input() in 2.6 and enter "foo % bar", the following error is returned: File "<string>", line 1, in <module> NameError: name "foo" is not defined ...which is expected. Anyway to to accomplish acceptance of input containing a percent sign that works in both 2.6 and 3.0? Thx.

As I've been doing documentation on existing programming languages attempting to make a complete list of them I stumbled across terrible programming languages, which were clearly not made for actual use and implementation due to their insane difficulty. Languages such as Brainfu*k and LOLCODE or Whitespace are fool languages because they have no real use. For example, a "Hello world" program written in BrainFu*k. • Ubuntu 12.4.1 failing in vm both Vbox and Vmware on new HP Envy 4t-1000

  Brand new to Linux, getting frustrated trying to get an environment up with Ubuntu. My primary goal is to learn Linux and Apache/PHP development. I need to keep my Windows OS as main on my machine for work, so i'm trying to virtualize Ubuntu 12.4.1 without luck (many attempts). I have a new HP Envy 4t-1000 with 16gb ram, and 32 gb ssd caching with 500gb spindle hard drive. Graphics card is an Intel HD 3000 with AMD Radeon 7670M. With installing Ubuntu desktop in VBox, I'm getting this result: https://forums.virtualbox.org/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=51939 With VMware workstation 7 (patched), I complete the install of Ubuntu, it reboots, purple desktop briefly flashes then it drops to command line. I bought a beginning Ubuntu book, and it recommends trying to manually configure graphics if this happens. So I tried doing a safe boot holding shift - I get to the first screen (GRUB) loads fine, and I choose recovery mode. After choosing the recovery mode, I get the recovery mode options, and can arrow down to what the book suggests 'Run in fail safe graphic mode.' Once I select this option, I get a black screen with a large white dialogue box, at the top it says "The system is running in low-graphics mode. Your screen, graphics card, and input device settings could not be detected correctly. You will need to configure these yourself." Then there is an ok button way down at the bottom. When I select 'ok' I get a menu for a few options, book recommended 'reconfigure graphics.' When I try this, I get a menu of two options: 1) "Use generic (default) configuration or 2) use backup. I've tried both options several times, hitting ok just refreshes screen and nothing more. Rebooting at this point just goes back to command line as before. I don't know what to do at this point, I've spent too many hours this weekend trying in both VBox and VMware to get Ubuntu going. Isn't there like a very basic graphic display or something I can use to at least get into the desktop? I explored the GRUB some more, and tried to look at the startup and xserver logs - both are blank. No help there I guess? When I try to choose 'Edit the configuration file, then 'ok' screen just refreshes on same menu options, nothing happens. thx for any advice. I really need to focus on learning Linux, Apache and PHP, so perhaps Ubuntu just won't work on my hardware? Any other suggestions? I will need to virtualize - THANKS for any help/advice.

• How to stop DW20.exe running on Win 2003 Server (usual solutions already tried)

  Periodically my ASP.NET application crashes (usually because memory consumption exceeds maximum allowed by application pool) and DW20.exe starts up. This is a big problem because it uses huge amounts of memory and CPU for minutes at a time. I want to know how to stop DW20.exe from running. Please note, I have already tried these often mentioned solutions: Disabling error reporting in Control Panel System Advanced Error Reporting Disabling the Error Reporting Service Modifying the registry as in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/841477 (however I might have done this wrong - this doc says "add a DWReportee value of 1" - what I did was add a DWORD entry with hexadecimal value of 1 - is this right? Also only 2 of the 4 keys were present, so I only modified these, e.g. there was no HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\PCHealth key at all) So, zero points for suggesting any of the above (unless you can see I have modified the registry incorrectly) ! Also zero points for suggesting I resolve whatever is causing the application crashes :) - I am figuring this out, I just want something in the mean time to stop DW20.exe eating up all the server resources. By the way, this is a Windows 2003 SP1 server, with IIS 6 and SQL 2005 installed. There is no MS Office. Thx

  Will this increase my Virtual private Server failing rate if i :- install Microsoft Window Server 2008 Enterprise install SQL server enterprise 2008 install IIS 7.5 install ASP.Net Mvc 2 install Microsoft Exchange << should live inside MWS2008 ? or standalone without OS? install Team foundation server << should live inside MWS2008 ? or standalone without OS? on one mini VPS with specification of DELL Poweredge R710 shared plan DDR3 ECC RAMs 16GB and -- 1GB for this VPS using DELL PERC 6i raid controller (this thing alone about 1.5k-2k) and the SAS HDD (15K RPM) (146GB) -- 33GB to this VPS each hdd is freaking fast over 300MB read / write possible with proper tuning the motherboard is a DELL and it has twin redundant PSU (870watt 85%eff) its running on Intel Xeon 5502 (Quad Core) x2 so about 8 physical proc (fairly share) is there any ruler to measure for this about one VPS can only install what what what service ? because of my resource is limited =.@ may i know if it is install in this way,maybe it seem like defeat the way of "VPS"... what will happen ? or any guideline on this issue (fully configuring the window server 2008 R2) ? • Raid-1 Western Digital Green AARS, cloning and WD Align Utility

  Hello all, My current setup runs on top of 2x Western Digital 2500KS drives on Raid-1, using the motherboard's 780G raid controller, on WinXP. Everything is fine, but the drives are a bit noisy. I am considering buying 2x WD6400AARS disks which are the 640GB slower 'green' drives, but also feature the Advanced Formatting 4KB sectors. This means that for WinXP the partition will have to be aligned to work properly, else there is a performance penalty. There are 2 questions here: The Green drives from WD are all slower and are (according to WD) susceptible to drop-out's from the controller. Has anyone any experience in this matter? Is there a possibility the controller will drop a drive? If so, can i do anything about it? Secondly, western digital gives a utility to perform the alignment on the partition. The thing is, will the utility see the drives in question as the operating system only sees 1 logical disk? I will be making the transition using a cloning tool (most probably norton ghost) unless i don't find a solution or a clear answer, in which case i'll just buy a win 7 license and make a clean install... thx in advance

• MySQL encoding problem after site move

  Guys, I need your help. Since last month my friend has lost his database on Dreamhost, he decided to move his wordpress based blog site (written in Chinese) to my server. He's using a wp-plugin called wp-db-backup to perform regular db backups. And the servers backgrounds are: Dreamhost: Linux 2.6.31.5-modsign-aufs2-grsec-2-opt mysql Ver 14.12 Distrib 5.0.16, for pc-linux-gnu (i386) using readline 5.0 apache2 unknown version My Server: Linux li159-46 2.6.32.12-x86_64-linode12 mysql Ver 14.14 Distrib 5.1.45, for debian-linux-gnu (x86_64) using readline 6.1 nginx 0.8.36 His site's encoding was UTF-8 in both wp-config and db. I imported his db backup file in UTF-8 by default, then I sync'd files using rsync from dreamhost, then I just changed the db address and nothing more. But when I take first look at the "new" site, it was full of unreadable characters, I met this problem before, I changed charset options in browser but none of them can make it displayed properly. Then I converted his db to GB18030, it works with only if browser set charset to GB18030 either GBK, but by default they recognize the charset as UTF-8. I tried to edit the headers but it doesn't work. What could I do now? Thx~~

• SQL 2008 - db mail issue

  Hello. I have two instances of SQL Server 2008. One was upgraded from SQL Server 2000 and one was a clean, new install. The instances are running on different nodes of the same cluster, although I have tried having them both on the same node with identical results. SQL Mail operates perfectly on both instances. DB Mail operates perfectly on the newly installed instance. On the upgraded instance, DB Mail does not send any mail. Of course, I am not positive that the fact this instance is upgraded has anything to do with the issue, but it might. The configuration of my db mail profile and account looks identical to my functioning instance. In the configuration of the 'alerts' tab in the SQL Agent properties i have tried selecting both DB Mail and SQL Mail to no avail. Both instances use the same SMTP server with the same authentication (domain with db engine account). All messages sent via sp_send_db mail and those sent via the 'test email' option are visible in the sysmail_allitems queue and remain there as 'unsent'. The send_status eventually changes to 'failed'. The only messages in the sysmail_event_log are 'mail queue stopped by login domain\myuser', 'mail queue started by login domain/myuser' and 'activiation successful.'. selecting from the externalmailqueue has the same number of rows as sysmail_allitems. i have tried bouncing the agent, the entire instance and moving the other functioning instance to the other node in the cluster. any thoughts? thx.
