• Wireless keeps disabling or stays disconnected (Realtek RTL8191SEvB)

  I have Realtek RTL8191SEvB wireless card on Ubuntu 10.10: $ lspci -v | grep Network 03:00.0 Network controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL8191SEvB Wireless LAN Controller (rev 10) When I load its driver, according to the Network Manager it sometimes blinks with a list of available networks but it keeps disabling itself or it stays disconnected. So, I can't connect to any wi-fi network (which results in frustration). • Wifi doesn't connect if I'm upstairs

  Hello there, I'm finding that Wifi connects when I'm in the living room, where the internet router etc is. But if I try to connect upstairs it is a no go. Booting in Windows 7 (dual boot :D ) I find that Wifi connects. I find this very confusing and have it since the install. Please help! Hello guys, just tried to connect internet upstairs and to my surprise it does connect. Don't know exactly why. Only thing I've done recently is input the codes said bij Oli. Two things I've done on my own 1: installed Jupiter and 2: installed laptop-mode-tools. I really don't know if this can effect my internet but it's the only thing I can think of. • NetworkManager detects no networks with a RTL8188CE

  I'm on a 2011 Lenovo Thinkpad T420i with a Realtek RTL8188CE WiFi adapter. Here's the scenario: I pop in the Ubuntu LiveCD to install. Laptop detects all networks in range, I connect to my home network, internet working great. Once Ubuntu finishes installing, the home network I am connected to is the only one which appears in the applet list. Upon restarting or waking from suspend, NetworkManager does not detect any networks – it simply displays "Disconnected" under the Wireless Network section of the menu. I am able to connect to my home network by using the "Connect to Hidden Wireless Network" option and it works immediately. I have yet to test if this works with other SSIDs. I have tried reinstalling the entire OS as well as NetworkManager and my wireless drivers. Thus, is there a way to set up ICS with a Vista machine so that I can access the internet by using the Vista machine as the host? Or, is it possible to fix this by downloading the important packages in vista and moving them to ubuntu via USB drive?

• popView from UITabBarController inside UINavigationController

  Hi, I'm building an application based on the Utility template from Xcode, to which I have added some more views. My application structure would be as follows: MainView (the app menu) Flip-side view (a calculator) UINavigationController Settings view viewDiDLoad: UITabBarController - Tab1 view (options) - Tab2 view (information text) I can navigate correctly from my MainView to my Flip-side view, which is also the root view of the Navigation Controller. From my Flip-side view, I push a second view of my Navigation Controller (Settings view) that is configured to show an UITabBarController, with two tabs, as soon as it loads (with viewDidLoad). If I remove the UITabBarController, I can return with no problems to my Flip-side view using "popViewController" from my Settings view. The problem comes if I load the UITabBarController in viewDiDLoad in my Settings view... the tabs work perfectly, but I'm not able to return to my Flip-side view (root view of the Navigation Controller) anymore. I CAN return if I use the Navigation Bar of the Navigation Controller, but I want to configure my own buttons and have the Navigation Bar hidden. So far I've tried the following methods: [self.navigationController popViewControllerAnimated:YES]; [self.navigationController popToRootViewControllerAnimated:YES]; [self.navigationController popToViewController:FlipSideViewController animated:YES]; But they don't seem to work. The first two just do nothing (the screen remains as it was), and the third one does not recognize the "FlipsideViewController" (maybe because it's a delegate of the MainViewController?). Is there a way to check what is exactly doing the "back" button of the Navigation Bar if I activate it? Should I be using delegates? Can I call a popViewController method in my Settings view from any of the two Tab views? • progressIndicator does not update till about 10 seconds after awakeFromNib occures

  I have been trying to get this one section of my UI to immediatly up date when the document loads into view. The awakeFromNib fires the pasted code and then starts a timer to repeat every 10 seconds... I load a default storage location: ~/Movies... which shows up immediately.. yet the network location that is saved in the document that gets pulled from the XML only seems to show up after the second firing of the - (void)updateDiskSpaceDisplay timer. I have set breakpoints and know that the ivars that contain the values that are being put into the *fileSystemAttributes is the network location right when the awakeFromNib occurs... • Hiding iPhone Status Bar pulls my tableViews up by 20px

  When doing an asynchronous HTTP request, I hide the iPhone status bar and animate in my own custom UIViewController to show upload status. So instead of seeing signal strength, carrier, time and battery life, the user gets messages based on the progress of the HTTP request. My status bar is exactly 20px high, and fits nicely where the status bar used to be. When the HTTP activity is done, the custom view animates out and the iPhone status bar animates back in. I would like to just avoid hiding the iPhone status bar completely, and instead bring my custom view ON TOP of the status bar. Currently, if I invoke my custom view animation and keep the iPhone status bar set to visible, my custom view is behind it.   Hi, I need to determine what file type a file is and then perform a certain action for it. this seems to work fine for some types, however all media types such as videos and sound files get mixed up. Here's the problem though. The iPhone calls them both.   Hi there, I've set up a grouped table on my app, and pushing to new views works fine. Except for one thing. The titles and stack layout are all weird. Here's the breakdown: I have two sections in my table. When I tap on the first row in the first section, it takes me to the correct view, but the title of the new view is the name of the first row in the second section of the table. In turn, the second row in the first section's title is the second row in the second section's title. If I tap on the second row in the second section of the root view table, the navigation button goes to the second row in the first section of the table. So here's a diagram of my table: Table Section 1 Row 1 Row 2 Row 3 Table Section 2 Row A Row B Row C So if I tap on row 3, the title of the pushed view is Row C. The navigation button tells me to go back to Row 3, then eventually ending up at the root view. • DHCP settings out of range Internet shuts off after a few minutes

  I recently upgraded from windows eight to windows 8.1 I do not know if this has anything to do with anything I have a 64 bit OS. My Internet goes off by itself every 5 minutes even though my wireless icon at the lower right of the screen still shows connected I had an error message in the last event in it said that might DHCP settings were out of range. I get my internet at my house through a wireless portable hotspot through my smart phone. But i haven't ever had any problems before and i only have this problem on this network. If i turn airplane mode on and reset my network card, the internet will come back to life but soon die. i don't experience this problem while on a different network or if i'm on WiFi. • DirectX works for 64-bit but not 32-bit

  I'm trying to play a game (Civilization 5) which was previously working but no longer. I believe I've narrowed it down to a DirectX issue because I get an error running dxdiag.exe in 32 bit mode. My goal (at least I believe) is to get Direct3D Acceleration "Enabled" in dxdiag (as it is in 64 bit dxdiag). Like other users in that thread, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Direct3D\Drivers does not have a SoftwareOnly key to change. I even tried manually adding it as a string and dword, to no avail. I have a NVIDIA GeForce GT 525M, and before you ask, yes I've tried updating (also uninstalling, reinstalling) my drivers. I've also tried doing the same with DirectX (and Civilization 5 for that matter). Been debugging for some 4+ hours now after a full day of work and I've run out of ideas. I'm hoping somebody knows the solution here! :) Here's what I see when I open dxdiag: DxDiag has detected that there mgiht have been a problem accessing Direct3D the last time this program was used. Would you like to bypass Direct3D this time?   I've got two computers in a LAN behind a wireless router. One has XP with ip 192.168.1.2 This one has W7 with ip 192.168.1.7 If I try to ping the other one from this computer, I get this: C:\Users\Srekel>ping 192.168.1.2 Pinging 192.168.1.2 with 32 bytes of data: Reply from 192.168.1.7: Destination host unreachable.
