• Threading and iterating through changing collections

  In C# (console app) I want to hold a collection of objects. All objects are of same type. I want to iterate through the collection calling a method on each object. And then repeat the process continuously. However during iteration objects can be added or removed from the list. (The objects themselves will not be destroyed .. just removed from the list). Not sure what would happen with a foreach loop .. or other similar method. This has to have been done 1000 times before .. can you recommend a solid approach?

• Updating the Jpanel of a class

  Hi, After some advice on using jpanel - I'm new to java and playing around with the GUI elements. Bascially what I'm curious about is if I can set up a Jpanel in one class, then somehow add labels etc to the that container, but from another class. Is this possible ? or do i have to set the entire GUI up in one class, but then I guess I would have the same issue, if I wanted to update those fields I had set up in the main class from another class? Apologies I don't really have any code that's usefull to demostrate here - I'm just trying to get the idea going, working out if its possible before I go ahead. And I'm not even sure if this is possible. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

So now is the question how I'll collect all the forms in to an array that PHP can read (like JSON for instance).   I have code like the following: class MyClass { string Name; int NewInfo; } List<MyClass> newInfo = .... // initialize list with some values Dictionary<string, int> myDict = .... // initialize dictionary with some values foreach(var item in newInfo) { if(myDict.ContainsKey(item.Name)) // 'A' I hash the first time here myDict[item.Name] += item.NewInfo // 'B' I hash the second (and third?) time here else myDict.Add(item.Name, item.NewInfo); } Is there any way to avoid doing two lookups in the Dictionary -- the first time to see if contains an entry, and the second time to update the value? There may even be two hash lookups on line 'B' -- one to get the int value and another to update it.

• Embed external website inside a page

  I'd like to load something from website B into a page on website A and contain the functionality of website B within a container on website A. I tried doing this using a div and jQuery's load() method but I run into cross-domain-scripting issues (I think, it works with a local file but not a remote URL). I also tried using an iframe but strange things happen (for example, when a link is clicked in the "contained" website B, it reloads the entire browser, losing the content of website A). I've read about some server-side ways of handling this (and it may just come to that) but ideally I want something completely client side, JavaScript and HTML. Any ideas?

  1) Uploadimage action gets requests from form posts. <form action="/content/uploadimage" method="post" enctype="multipart/form-data"> It reads HttpPostedFileBase stream data and sends it to the response. I need to show the image in a div container instead of sending it to the response as a file so that users can manipulate the image using jcrop. Image source is generated at runtime. I can't pass an action name to the src attribute. Is this possible using MVC and without using control viewstate? 2) I don't want to use flash or silverlight. Is there an easy ajax alternative to the method I use to get files from user?

• IE7 Negative value cuts off half the element - bug?

  I've relatively positioned one of the elements with negative 'top' and 'left' values, the negative 'left' value actually takes the element outside of the 'body' width, this seems fine in all browsers apart from IE7 where it just cuts it off. establi.sh I thought it might be that weird bug where if it's outside the parent container then you have to set a z-index but that didn't work, then I thought it might be the hasLayout bug but trying to fix that didn't work. I'm not an expert on IE browsers so need some help. I'm thinking IE7 might be choking as the negative left value actually takes it outside the body? Thanks

I'm not sure how / why it is trying to convert "Category" to integer as in the db it is a string. Can you please tell me how to avoid this error? thanks.

• MoveWindow API doesn't work well on Vista

  Hello! I have an application on Vista which loops through all processes and finds associated main windows in order to move and resize them. The problem is that some windows get moved and resized and some don't. Also it even seems that moved and resized windows aren't moved and resized according to the MoveWindow function call because they are resized to title bar and all of them are on the same line (same y coordinate). Here's the sample code: IntPtr handle; Process[] processList = Process.GetProcesses(); int i = 0; foreach (Process process in processList) { handle = process.MainWindowHandle; if (handle != IntPtr.Zero) //If the process has window then move and resize it. { bool moveResult = MoveWindow(handle, i * 50, i * 50, 500, 500, true); i++; } } Is this because of Vista? All instances of MyUserControl are contained in a List and I access them with a foreach. string temp = userControl.InputValue; This is always null. In my MainWindow.xaml I can see the "My Input" in the text box of the user control but I can't ever seem to get it out of there.
