  I'm pretty new to regular expressions, and MAN do they give me a headache. They are so intimidating! For an email campaign I'm doing, a user will click a link out of the email with a few URL parameters filled in for them, to make filling out a form easier. I want to prevent any injection hacks or whatever it's called, but need to allow the $_GET parameters to be alphanumeric, have punctuation, and have spaces. If someone has a good method for this, I'd appreciate it, but right now I have: foreach($_GET as $m=>$n) { $get[$m] = preg_replace('(^[a-z0-9 \-\_\.]+)i',' ',$n); } I would like to be able to replace all characters NOT found with this regular expression, which I believe I use ?!, but I can't get that to work either. Any help in getting this to work would be appreciated!

• Can I add a java portlet to an existing java Web App?

  Hi. I'm building a webapp that uses jboss-seam with jsf, facelets and rich faces, running on top of jboss AS 5.1. I would like to add a portlet area where I could add my own portlets, but from what I got (reading forums and documentation) I need to be running a portlet container/portal (something like liferay or gatein). But I don't want to be running a portal. I just want some kind of control where I can embed a portlet (something like an iFrame). Is this true or I got it wrong? If I'm wrong, how can I add an area to my webapp where I can add a portlet? Thanks Best regards.

I am using routes to determine localization. ie: if the url has es or fr in the route it will load either spanish or french resources. for example: www.someroute/es/checkstuff/checkstuff.aspx will load: www.someroute/checkstuff/checkstuff.aspx with the spanish resources. I tried what was on the php.net manual and did this: preg_match($pattern, $fread, $matches); then when I echoed $matches I got "Array" message. So I tried a foreach loop and when that didn't display anything I tried $matches[0] and that too outputted nothing. So how does one go about displaying the matches found?

  I have multidimensional array which is a query returning the info from a table named 'users'. In another part of my code I need to get the records of only one certain user and I want to take it using the array I mentioned above. It's of type: array(24) { [0]=>array(9) { ["id"]=>string(1) "1" ... } [1]=>array(9) { ["id"]=>string(1) "2" ... } [2]=>array(9) { ["id"]=>string(1) "5" ...} I'll use foreach compairing by ["id"] to find the record I need, but when I get a match I'm not sure how to extract only this array from the parent one. I would like to redefine 'Visit' in B, but B need to access the 'Visit' function of each A (and all subclass to). I have something like that, but it tell me that B cannot access the protected member of A!   I have been delved in C++ world for a while, but now I'm in .NET world again, VB and C# and I wondered if you have a class that represents a collection of something, and you want the ability to use this in a foreach loop, etc... is it better to implement IEnumerable and IEnumerator yourself or should you inherit from the List<T> where T is the object type in it's singular form? I know in C++ for example, inheriting from a container is considered a bad idea. But what about .NET.

• Rebind a unbind click

  I am using this library that allows you to create a more elegant alert box (you can even use images!); I used it with a click function and it works! A nice container opens with a close button, GREAT! I noticed if you happen to click more than once on the link you assigned, it keeps firing. So multiple images begin to propagate. I used the unbind method, but it cancels the link permanently (until refresh etc.). I was surprised to see the library doesn't compensate for this little problem, so I am wondering if you could rebind the click when you close the image window so it starts from the beginning. $(".shopFrag").click(function(){ Messi.img("_images/wishlist.jpg"); $(".shopFrag").unbind('click'); });

• Maven + Tomcat acceleration

  I am writing a web application with Maven in the Eclipse IDE, and use Tomcat servlet container. So, I run Maven like this: mvn clean compile. It is reasonable that after this oepration I must re-run Tomcat so it can reinitialize the context (Sysdeo Tomcat launcher helps a lot). The problem is Maven execution and subsequebt Tomcat re-running takes noticable amount of time (like 10+ seconds for Maven and 20+ sec. for Tomcat, because of logging, Hibernate mappings, etc.) every time I do it. Is there any automated and more faster solution for these two operatioins? As I see it, a way better solution can be moving re-compiled classes only to the target dir.

• Embed external website inside a page

  I'd like to load something from website B into a page on website A and contain the functionality of website B within a container on website A. I tried doing this using a div and jQuery's load() method but I run into cross-domain-scripting issues (I think, it works with a local file but not a remote URL). I also tried using an iframe but strange things happen (for example, when a link is clicked in the "contained" website B, it reloads the entire browser, losing the content of website A). I've read about some server-side ways of handling this (and it may just come to that) but ideally I want something completely client side, JavaScript and HTML. Any ideas?

  Hi, After some advice on using jpanel - I'm new to java and playing around with the GUI elements. Bascially what I'm curious about is if I can set up a Jpanel in one class, then somehow add labels etc to the that container, but from another class. Is this possible ? or do i have to set the entire GUI up in one class, but then I guess I would have the same issue, if I wanted to update those fields I had set up in the main class from another class? Apologies I don't really have any code that's usefull to demostrate here - I'm just trying to get the idea going, working out if its possible before I go ahead. And I'm not even sure if this is possible. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
