• How to implement a UIViewAutoresizingFlexibleHeight to a UIScrollView using Objective C in iPhone SD

  Hello, I'm working on multiple applications for my school. I just need this last bit of code and I was wondering how I could implement a UIViewAutoresizingFlexibleHeight into the app for each textfield. What this does is it makes the textfield pop above the keyboard, rather than over lapping it. I have already implemented a UIScrollView, so if someone on here could be pretty descriptive, or post a link to a video, that would be well appreciated. I am new to coding. Thanks very much!!!!

• A non-ugly way to persist dialog contents across orientation changes?

  So I have a managed AlertDialog with a number of EditTexts & separate portrait + landscape layouts. The user opens the dialog in portrait mode, enters some text and then all of a sudden decides to pop out the keyboard. Now, I need to remove the dialog and recreate it for the changed layout persisting the text entered. What I can think of is getting references to the EdiTexts in onPrepareDialog(..), then getting the actual text in onConfigurationChanged(..), then removing the dialog, then showing it again, then populating it. Rather ugly, huh? Are there any better options?

• Open default browser as standard user (C++)

  I'm currently using ShellExecute "open" to open a URL in the user's browser, but running into a bit of trouble in Win7 and Vista because the program runs elevated as a service. When ShellExecute opens the browser, it seems to read the "Local Admin" profile instead of the user's. So for example, if the user at the keyboard has Firefox as his default browser, it may open IE (which is the admin's default). I know that the "runas" verb can be used to elevate, but how do you do it the other way around? Is there a way to open a URL in the default browser on a standard user's desktop from a service?

• Problem when exiting search in iPhone

  Hi. I have a search display controller, and it is searching well. I'm searching in a table with several sections and I have a viewForHeaderInSection function working as it's supposed to. When I start searching, my numberOfSectionsForTableView returns 1, and I have a special view saying "Search Results" wich I use in self.searchDisplayController.searchResultsTableView. The problem happens when I select a row in my searchResultsTableView: I change the view, and when I return and try to exit the searchDisplayController (by pressing the CancelButton), the tables change nice, but changing the viewforHeader for my first section is not "pretty". I have a "kind-of-click" anymation. I would like it to not be so noticeable for the user, having a more "fluid" change. Anybody had the same problem and knows how to solve it? In a different question (which would work as a workaround): how can I hide the keyboard while searching without pressing the Cancel or Search buttons? Thanks a lot!

• Vim: How to exchange key bindings? (bind '|' on '7' key)

  Having the German Mac Keyboard Layout, it is a pain to type | as it is bound to <A-7> and it is hard for me to reach the Alt key. Thus, I'd like to do the following remapping (exchanging the binding for | and 7): imap 7 <Bar> imap <A-7> 7 The first one works, the second one does not. I have already tried all combinations with inor (no remap) but wasn't successful. Maybe I don't get the concept of remapping. Or I am missing something else.

  so if I do: dup2(0, backup); // backup stdin dup2(somefile, 0); // somefile has four lines of content fgets(...stdin); // consume one line fgets(....stdin); // consume two lines dup2(backup, 0); // switch stdin back to keyboard I am finding at this point.. stdin still contains the two lines I haven't consumed. Why is that? Because there is just one buffer no matter how many times you redirect? How do I get rid of the two lines left but still remember where I was in the somefile stream when I want to go back to it?

  Huge thanks for the help in this thread - Click td, select radio button in jQuery But now I'm having trouble that it won't change the class of the cell, even though I have binded the 'change' trigger in jQuery like so: $("td input[type=radio]").bind('change click', function () { $('td').removeClass('selected'); $(this).parent('td').addClass('selected'); }); $("td").click(function () { $('input:radio', this).attr('checked', true); }); Hope that makes sense. If you click the radio button, or move between them using the keyboard, the cell's class changes just fine. However if you trigger this by clicking the cell it doesn't change the class :( Thanks

I would like to make this control act like a text box with cursors and features like typing in from keyboard. Right now I use an invisible text box with a formattedtext control to act like that. But the cursor position always creates a problem when the size of the text is not equal to the size of the rendered text as shape. Can anyone please show the way to achieve this.

• View OS X Desktop on windows remotely at higher resolution then hosting machine

  I have a new macbook air 11, which I do some web based programming on, I have a windows box with a 1920x1200 display which I'd like to use to view the mac desktop and keep working at home when I can - taking advantage of the higher resolution screen and full sized keyboard/mouse. I don't think VNC or such is the answer I'm looking for as it would restrict the display to the airs 1366x768 - negating the main benefit more lines of text on screen. From some rudimentary googleing I think I'm after some sort of x-windows / x-11 remote display. But I'm not a Linux user and any discussion seems to be about linux os x or windows Linux setups. Can anyone provide a clear set of instructions on how to do this or an application that can do this.

• Macro to create macros?

  Over the years, I've built up a number of macros that I like to have available in visual studio. It's always a pain to reload them and rebind them to the keyboard when I go to a different machine/rebuild/use a VM/etc. Someone mentioned to me once that there is a way that you can write a macro that will recreate your macros and bind them to keys automatically. Anyone know how to do that? Is there another way to easily export/import macros (nonsensically, VS has an "export macro" function, but no import).

• iPhone SDK: Keep an image from scrolling with a UIScrollView

  Hi, I've been searching all over for an easy way to do this. Right now I have a UIScrollView setup as my main view. There's an Image on the left and a column of TextFields on the right. When any TextField is tapped, the keyboard comes up and hides the bottom TextField. So I have the ScrollView move up to unhide the bottom TextField. Question #1: Is there a way to have it respond to a specific TextField instead of all of them? Question #2: Is there a way to keep the Image on the left static so it doesn't move with the TextFields?   I have an application that I wrote in .NET. It needs to remain running and have access the desktop that the UAC dialog windows open on and interact with that desktop using keyboard and mouse events. It's sort of like a VNC program. Imagine you are running a VNC program and a UAC window pops up, you want your VNC program to still be able to control the desktop with the UAC window in it so that the user can move the mouse and click the OK button on the UAC dialog.   Does anyone know of an Eclipse plugin that can give me some stats about my behavior/usage of the Eclipse IDE? There are quite a few things I would like to know: How often/when do I invoke the "Build All" command (through Ctrl+B) How often does compilation fail/succeed (+ number of errors/warnings) How often do I hit Backspace? (I do that way to often; If pressing that key would give a nasty sound I would in time learn to type correctly in the first place) How many characters/lines of code that I typed do I delete (possibly quite immediately) How (effective/efficient/...) is my Mouse/Keyboard/IDE usage? (Kinda like measuring APM in StarCraft; this could be fun) If there is no such Eclipse plugin around, how complex and time consuming would It be to write a plugin that can accomplish the above?

• Poll for pressed buttons in Java

  I have a WorldWind application build based on the Java SDK. It has a great event handler for detecting when you click on objects, but I've run into a snag. While I can click on and select individual objects, I can't determine if the user is pressing the control key while they click (if they want to select multiple objects). I can implement event handlers for both the mouse and the keyboard, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to tie the two together. How could I make my mouse listener poll the system for a list of currently depressed keys?

  I have a html page. It is chrome://. I have a select box. Giving it the oncommand attribute won't work. So I have to use onchange however you have the typical problem with onchange where it doesnt work if user uses the keyboard arrows, or letters of items to change things. Is there anyway to attach onCommand to my select box? I want to avoid to use onkeyup as then i have to to validation to see if it really changed (which would require me saving previous values).

• Writing different structs to a file in C++? [on hold]

  I need a way to write structures of three different kinds to a binary file, which later has to be searched. (As in, for example, struct A has two fields, an int and a char; struct B has int and a long; I need to output all structures whose int equals the one given from keyboard). I understand how to write structs of the same kind to a file and how to search them, but here I am just lost, best thing I came up with is declaring a struct containing all possibly needed fields and leaving the ones I don't need empty, but it really feels wrong, there HAS to be a better way to do that. I've read about binary files and could not find anything relevant, most examples and tutorials deal with writing one data type. Could anyone point me in the right direction? EDIT: I am looking for what @Jerry_coffin called database mode, and will probably use one of the existing database systems for that, best way to go, probably. Thank you everybody for the suggestions

• Is it me or is pygame.key.get_pressed() not working?

I can't get rotation to work because it scrambles the bitmap, but that's for another question.Should I even use a gif? any other filetype suggestions? back to the actual point here, so: k = pygame.key.get_pressed() yeah, self explanatory. this doesn't work, as it returns each key as pressed. so, somewhere else: d = k[pygame.K_d] and another line: print d and another: if d: So, k returns as each key on the keyboard pressed. d returns 0 indefinitely, whether or not d is pressed. d is always 0. the statement about d therefore is never true. Why is this happening?

• How to delete IPSEC VPN tunnel from Fortigate 60

  I have had a IPSEC connection setup between two firewalls. Now I want to remove the tunnel in my firewall, a "Fortigate 60". There are two phases, "Phase 1" and "Phase 2" for each IPSEC connection. I can delete the "Phase 2" entry by clicking the trashcan icon (in the web interface), but there is not such icon for "Phase 1". Is it possible to delete that? When I look at the log it alerts about this tunnel not working (after deleting "Phase 2") and it would be nice not ta have loads of such events in the log. All ideas are appreciated.

  I had been using ADInsight from Sysinternals to trace Active Directory calls from my workstation, but the application has failed. Where previously the Active Directory events were traced and logged, now the window remains blank, whether the application is in capture mode or not. I have run as Administrator, rebooted, downloaded a new version; none of those actions has returned the program to a functional state. The Sysinternals forums don't offer much hope, since this tool is known to fail often. Is there tool that has similar functionality? • Cannot SSH after resetting firewall on VPS

  I'm having trouble trying to SSH to my Debian 5 VPS with blacknight. It was working fine until I did the following: Logged into 'Parallels Infrastructure Manager' - Container - Firewall - Set to 'Normal Firewall settings'. It told me there was an error with the IPTables and offered the option again with a checkbox to 'reset' firewall settings, I selected this. • Clients not updating with approved updates from WSUS

  Hi All, I've been a bit behind in my windows XP updates recently, and I have about 18 or so I need to roll out to all our users, according to WSUS. I'm trying it on a couple of test PCs, and so far i've had no luck. On each one, one update would install (and need a reboot), and nothing else since. • SQL Server crashes when remote query fails

  Setup: I have a linked server setup on SQL Server 2005 which is pointing to an Oracle DB. The linked server has RPC enabled. Problem: When a query throws an exception on the remote server (Oracle DB) the SQL Server instance crashes. The logs say that the crash was due to some problem with the RPC call. Is there a way in which I can prevent the entire server to collapse but also use RPC over my linked server. EDIT: Event Log SQL Server is terminating because of fatal exception c0000005. This error may be caused by an unhandled Win32 or C++ exception, or by an access violation encountered during exception handling. Check the SQL error log for any related stack dumps or messages. This exception forces SQL Server to shutdown. To recover from this error, restart the server (unless SQLAgent is configured to auto restart).
