• Dynamically Adding ASP.NET Web Forms Controls Loses State on Page Refresh

  I am creating dynamic label and textbox based on the number of values from the database for the selected item of the dropdownlist. Then the dynamic labels will have the names and the text box with the values. To retain the values of these controls im using Page_init event. So im using cache to hold the selectteditem from the dropdownlist. Problem: The process is going fine. But if i try to refresh the page no items are selected in the dropdown list but the cache is not getting clear so using this cache value dynamic control are creating.

• How do I load content with ujs, jquery and rails?

  I'm trying to figure out the best way to insert content into a light box using rails UJS. I have a link that looks like this: <%= link_to "login", login_path, :remote => true %> Which produces html as such: <a data-remote="true" href="/login">login</a> So this all works great, and I've created the view file: user_sessions/new.js.erb which also loads just fine, but my question what is the preferred method of inserting appending the html into the page? Like I already have the login form on the non-js page, so can't I just load that partial into the page? Any ideas would be very welcomed.

• ASP.net Usercontrol caching viewstate across users?

  I have a usercontrol with asp:textbox controls on it that also performs postbacks. If two users, who are both identified by a different session variable, postback the page within the same second, one user will see the other user's viewstate values in the text boxes. I have validated that this happens by setting a textbox, a session variable, and a cookie to the same value (the same value that identifies the user) and writing to the log when all three don't match. The text box's value is the one that is logged as the other user's value. ASP.net 3.5, IIS 6 Has anyone experienced this issue.

• Shuttle control in wxPython

  Hi, I'm trying to implement a shuttle control in wxPython but there doesn't seem to be one. I've decided to use two listbox controls. The shuttle control looks like this: I've got two listboxes — one's populated, one's not. Could someone show me how to add a selected item to the second list box when it is double clicked? It should be removed from the first. When it is double clicked in the second, it should be added to the first and removed from the second. The shuttle control implements these by default but it's a pity it isn't there. Thank you.

• "Error opening associated documents" message when loading VS

  When loading up a solution in VS2008 I get this message: An error was encountered while opening associated documents the last time this solution was loaded. Document load is being skipped during this solution load in order to avoid that error. It shut down immediately the first time I opened it. The next time I opened it, VS popped up a message box but did not shut down at first; however, it did shut down when I clicked a usercontrol or ASPX page. How can I find which document is causing the problem? Thanks...

  In my masterpage, i'm having one textbox for searching purpose. if we press enterkey it is redirecting to some otherpage. But it is happening only one time. next time when i enter some text and press enter key, it is not going to the Keydown event handler. • Update Message on ASP.NET ModelPopupExtender

  Hi, I have a form in a MS AJAX ModalPopup Extender, which is in a UpdatePanel (for async loading). Everything works as expected. There is one thing that I am trying to do but not sure how to do it. On form submission, there is server side validation on top of client side validation. My question is: what is the best way to display validation error messages if any? It would be ideal if the messages could be written to the popup asynchronously so that the popup is still there. If this is not possible, I am thinking of displaying the messages using the JavaScript alert box. Any insight and suggestions are greatly appreciated. John

• How to Integrate SharePoint 2007/2010 and Google Apps?

  Hello All, My (smaller) company has an existing Google Apps Deployment, used for E-Mail / Calendar, etc. I'm looking into a SharePoint setup (2010 most likely). One of the best features is that new events are added to one's Outlook Calendar, e-mails can be sent automatically, etc. Naturally, this works best out-of-the-box with Exchange. I know I can add my own OpenID login system via an OpenID provider for SharePoint and get my users into the system. My question is, can anyone recommend the best way to go about making sure that events automatically find their way into users' calendars and e-mails on the Google Apps system? This would enable us to deploy SharePoint without worrying about migrating our e-mail system to Exchange first (Google Apps is more cost-effective for our needs and I'm required to keep it.) • Is there any ready-made calendar control for iPhone apps?

  I am building an applicaiton for the iPhone that will display upcoming and past events. I settled for a list view, but then I realized that a calendar (just like the one displayed in the "month" view in the built-in Calendar application) would be a best match (that is, this one). However, the iPhone Human Interface Guidelines just mentions the Date Picker, not the calendar, so I believe there is nothing like that out of the box. Is that true? If so, does anyone know of a third-party control that could be used? (I could write one myself, but I'd rather pick up something ready, since this is a departure on the original project plans). • Maintaining white space in html select tag

  Hi, I have a list of strings that I would like to display in a HTML select object. The strings look something like : id - name - description I would like the fields to align however. In PHP I'm using sprintf ("%4s%10s%20s", $id, $name, $description); which works fine. The problem is the multiple spaces is compacted to 1 space in the select list. I tried using the pre and white-space CSS properties of the select box, but it has no effect. Any suggestions?

• Change Gmail message routing on individual mailboxes

  We are using dual delivery for one of our Google Apps doamins and need to be able to disable mail delivery to the Gmail account. You can manually update the settings on a per user basis through the Admin interface by unchecking the box next to "Google Apps Email" in the Email routing section. From the Google Apps API documentation for the python library it does not appear that I programmatically disable the email routing for "Google Apps Email" on a per user basis. Does anyone know if it's possible? The only routing related method I can find is at the Domain level and not the user level. gdata.apps.adminsettings.service Thank you!

• Huh? Android Preferences page refuses to load after adding SDK 1.6

  This one is really weird. I had a perfectly working Eclipse + Android 2.2 SDK working in both Administrator account and LUA (Limited User Account) under Windows XP. Then I decided to add the Android 1.6 SDK (I could do it from an Administrator account only). It seemed to have gone well, since it still works perfectly -- but only in that Administrator account! When I try to start Eclipse under a LUA, I receive the following error message box: Which disappears within 2-3 seconds and replaced with: I then tried to check the Preferences page, but again, all I receive is error messages: and: Any idea why this is happening and how to fix this? (I would love to be able to continue working from a LUA)

  I have data related as follows: A table of Houses A table of Boxes (with an FK back into Houses) A table of Things_in_boxes (with an FK back to Boxes) A table of Owners (with an FK back into Houses) In a nutshell, a House has many Boxes, and each Box has many Things in it. In addition, each House has many Owners. If I know two Owners (say Peter and Paul), how can I list all the Things that are in the Boxes that are in the Houses owned by these guys? Also, I'd like to master this SQL stuff. Can anyone recommend a good book/resource? (I'm using MySQL). Thanks!

  Recently when I have found good sources packages for ghc 6.12/6.10 on Hackage I've been forced to do some minor or major changes to the cabal files to make those packages to work under windows. Besides to fork and merge my fixes with github, what seems to be the best way/ good enough practice to take these modified builds to a couple of other windows boxes that only has a basic haskell platform installed? I should prefer if I somehow could work with the cabal-install because that is what one normally use. Should one put the modfied build dirs on a shared/networked dir and mount from the targeted windows box?   Programming is essentially problem solving/using a lot of logic. With solving puzzles (like the ones recruiters like MS etc ask), is this a skill that can be developed with practise or is it a skill that only someone who is gifted has (I assume the former as many people can pass these tests)? Even so, I keep thinking it is a special skill for someone gifted, not for someone with a lot of practise. I guess that with practise you are perhaps more open-minded and start to think out of the box more (solving technical problems in development may also foster this mindset perhaps). Thanks

• Dropdown in Access 2007 parameter query. Why not working

  Hello, I want a Access parameter query to ask an user for a value (a location in this case). When I type [Enter location] in the Criteria field it works fine: I get a dialog box (Enter Parameter Value) with a textbox and my text (Enter Location). So far, so good. This works (the result also). But now I want a dropdown/combobox (instead of a textbox ) for the user to pick a location. I made a form and type Forms![Form1]![CmbLocation] in the Criteria field. Like this: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/access/HA011170771033.aspx But I still get a textbox (with the reference as textlabel). What am I doing wrong? Has anybody any advice?

  Hello, I want to develop using a framework called symfony BUT, i do not have a MAC and i don't want to dual boot with Debian. I tryed virtual hosts via Virtual Box but it's too crappy. So i decided to stay on windows So when the tutorial tells me to do php lib/vendor/symfony/data/bin/check_configuration.php i do in the windows cmd : php lib\vendor\symfony\data\bin\check_configuration.php and it tells me : 'php' is not recognized as an internal or external command I use UwAmp (php 5.2.12 + mysql + apache) which is stored in E:\logiciels\UwAmp\ inside i have buch of file, but i guess that is important : E:\logiciels\UwAmp\apache\php_5.2.11 How to make the cmd PHP in the windows cmd work propely please?

• Morphing content based on window part focus

  What I'm trying to achieve is basically have a code that will morph ( move around the page ) based on the part of the window which is currently viewed. Scenario : - actual page height : 2000px - actual screen height( pc, laptop whatever ) : 800px - 1 image of 600px - 3 div's or virtual boxes ( just to prove what I want to do ) Workflow When you open the page, you'd see the first part of the page with the image loaded in the first div. What I want and need to achieve is when scrolling the page, and the focus would be on the second div ( or the image simply gets out of focus - you can't see it no more ), the image would move ( disappear from the first box ) and appear in the second one, which is currently visible. The idea might seem pretty easy but I'm not Javascript savvy. Ideally, the answer should include a way to load a Javascript instead of that image.

  I know that when creating buttons, like next and previous, that the code can be somewhat long to get those buttons to function. I see that the fillTextFields(false) uses a boolean value and that you need to initialize that boolean value in the beginning of the code I believe. I had put private fillTextFields boolean = false; but this does not seem to be right... I'm just hoping someone could explain it better. Thanks :)

• PHP can't connect to localhost XMPP server on port 5222

  I've set up an ejabberd install locally on my Windows box, where I also have Apache, PHP and MySQL. I've also confirmed that it works great using Digsby, and have kicked the tires a bit by creating some users, sending some messages, etc. All good. However, PHP can't open a stream using stream_socket_client to port 5222. Even at its simplest level: stream_socket_client("tcp://localhost:5222", $errno, $errstr, 30, STREAM_CLIENT_CONNECT); Returns a timeout error. However, again, connecting with an IM client to localhost on port 5222 works fine. Any ideas? I'm stuck!

• WIX - Verify that file exists - and/or file-browser dialog/button

  How do you create a "Browse" button in a WIX dialog. I currently have a custom dialog box with four radio buttons (Dev, QA, Stage, and Prod), and a text field for a filename. The install of course dies if the user enters a bad filename. I would be happy first of all just to verify that the file they entered exists. Secondly, I would like to add a File-Browser button, if such things exists in WIX. But even then, I would imagine the user could type in any file name, and I should still check to see if it exists.   BeanUtils copyProperties, out of the box, doesn't seem to handle copying from Boolean object properties to boolean primitive properties. I figured I could create and register a converter to handle this, but that just didn't seem to work.
