• How to disable sql creation for JPA entity classes

  We have some JPA entity classes which are currently under development and wouldn't want them as part of the testing cycle. We tried commenting out the relevant entity classes in META-INF\persistence.xml but the hbm2ddl reverse engineering tool still seems to generate SQL for those entities. How do I tell my code to ignore these classes? Are there any annotations for these or should I have to comment out the @Entity annotation along with my changes in persistence.xml file.

• Install Shield 2009 Premier, Uninstall doesn't close the process/gui

  My application (developed using C#.net) is open now i uninstall, InstallShield gives message stating the application is already open and whether really want to close the application. Selection 'Ignore' continues uninstall. Some files and the exe of the application are not closed. How to close them by installshield on uninstall. Or there are some properties I have to set. I know adding a custom action at uninstall i can kill the process, but shouldn't installshield do it?

• SDL_GL_SwapBuffers Segfault

  I'm getting a segfault that GDB says is coming from SDL_GL_SwapBuffers. However, I can't imagine why. The SDL documentation mentions no specific pre-conditions for calling swapBuffers except that double buffering be allowed. Is this an option I have to turn on while initializing OpenGL or is this a hardware capability thing? Is there a way to tell smarty to ignore the markup for a block and just output it as is? Something similar to CDATA blocks in the xml?   Hello, please, does any of you knows and can share an easy/clean way to find a substring within a string, but ignoring some specified characters to find it. I think an example would explain things better: string: "Hello, -this- is a string" substring to find: "Hello this" chars to ignore: "," and "-" found the substring, result: "Hello, -this" Using Regex it's not a requirement for me, just added the tag because it feels related.

  On any non-trivial hg installation, the hgrc's tend to contain significant stuff. Is there a way to completely ignore/bypass ALL configurations, from system, user, to repo-level? The use case is to use some hg core functionalities in some automation scripts. Currently, if anything is misconfigured (and I mess with my ~/.hgrc a lot), the scripts will abort for something it doesn't use at all. It'd be perfect is I can just hg <whatever> --config:none.

  It doesn't seem to make sense, unless we just ignore any potential excess space at the beginning of a segment, and then have the first allocated chunk be at the first multiple of 8 (with its corresponding first header being that address -4). This would leave however many bytes before that unused. Is that what's generally done?

  I'm using Git with WindRiver to manage a project of mine. The code is being managed, however the project files (such as .cproject, .project, .wrmakefile, and .wrproject) are not. However when I switch branches, Git deletes those files spite them being in .gitignore, thereby removing my ability to compile the code without having to revert commits or keeping a backup. So, is there a way to say to Git - ignore these files and don't touch them no matter what?

But I don't think it should because C-h v indent-tabs-mode on the buffer in question says it is set to t. When I check my keybindings, TAB is set to c-indent-line-or-region. Does this function ignore my tabs-mode?

  I am just starting to use UML and have came to the following question: Some actors clearly are specialized versions of a natural entity. For example I've got Administrator and User actors which are clearly nothing but different roles of a user, Authorizer and Dispatcher which are services (and are going to be implemented this way). Should I just ignore these facts while modelling actors and use cases or specify it some way? I think I could make good use of such a specification to facilitate code generation.

  Regular HTML select boxes (such as, e.g. found here), while being "chosen" are presented by the iPhone on a native widget that seems to totally ignore regular html font sizes and whatnot. It does some ellipsing when it goes too long, but the font is way too big for a list I want to present -- even on landscape, only about 35 characters can fit. My problem is that when a Microsoft-office file is opened, a temporary file is created in the watched directory. • Subversion: svn status displays tons of undesired .metadata files

  I'm trying to set up Subversion on Ubuntu Linux. It seems to be working, except that when I made one change and tried svn status, I found about 100 files had been changed, in the .metadata directory. My ~/.subversion/config file currently contains the following line: global-ignores = *.o *.lo *.la *.al .libs *.so *.so.[0-9]* *.a *.pyc *.pyo *.rej *~ .*.swp .DS_Store What do I need to add to ignore the .metadata files? The directory under consideration is used by Eclipse for Python development using PyDev, if that matters.
