• Flags with deferred use

  Let's say I have a system. In this system I have a number of operations I can do but all of these operations have to happen as a batch at a certain time, while calls to activate and deactivate these operations can come in at any time. To implement this, I could use flags like doOperation1 and doOperation2 but this seems like it would become difficult to maintain. Is there a design pattern, or something similar, that addresses this situation?

• Question about whether I should pursue minors or work towards a masters [closed]

  I'm a sophomore about to go into my Spring semester in a few weeks and I am trying to decide some major things that will affect the next few years of my life and was looking for some guidance/advice. I'm currently working towards a Bachelors in Computer Science and my question was whether I should minor in Corporate Strategy and Math or just work towards a Masters in Computer Science? I was wondering if employers are more looking for Masters degrees in Computer Science or if those minors could be beneficial to me. Some things that may affect responses: I already have all my other requirements filled for graduating except my Computer Science classes, I've already had an internship this past summer and am already hearing back from several companies about internships for this upcoming summer.   Hi everyone, this is my first post here. As the title says, I just got a job offer for an entry level Technology Analyst role at Accenture, which is a very large consulting company. I'm a recent college graduate, and this would be my first "real" job out of school. I'm wondering if any of you guys have any experiences/insights/opinions on Accenture as a company, specifically, the Security or IT Strategy divisions of its Technology consulting branch. • Effecient finding of long-range spotting targets

  I'm creating a top-down 2d strategy game, with a square grid map. So far, I've used Bresenham's line drawing algorithm in a circle to determine what's in LOS of each unit, and then targedt one of the targets in the circle. Now I find that this limits my units to shoot only at targets that they see. I want to extend my targeting algorithm to target any other unit in range of my weapon, even if they're out of sight range of this given unit, if they're "spotted" by another friendly unit. In other words, I want to enable usage of weapons with ranges longer than sight range. Is there a better way than iterating over all sighted units and computing range and LOSto each of them?

  Today when I was reading about LCC(windows) compiler I find out it has the implemention for operator overloading . I'm puzzled because after a bit of googling , it has been confirm that operator overloading ain't support in standard C , but I read some people's comment mentioning LCC is ANSI-compliant . So my real question is , is LCC really standard C or it's just like objective-c , a C variant with object-oriented feature ?

• Quality Assurance=inspections, reviews..?

  Studying this subject extensively, the most books state the following: Quality Assurance: prevention activity. Act of inspection, reviewing.. Quality Control: testing While there are some exceptions that mention that QA deals with just processes (planning, strategy, standard application etc.) which is IMHO much closer to real QA, yet I cannot find any good reference in Google Books. I believe that inspections, reviews, testing is all quality control as it is about checking products, no matter if it is the final one or work products. The problem is that so many authors do not agree. I would be grateful for detailed explanation, ideally with a reference.

• Crash During Update Deleted ALL panels; can't open terminal; can't see icons

  So I was upgrading Ubuntu from 11.10 to 12.04 in the terminal after recovering my system from a previous crash, and then I go through a power outage during the second time trying to update. NOW, my screen is white, only the time shows up in the top right corner, no icons show up, no apps show up, AND terminal is NOT opening. I can still use the internet somehow, and ctrl + alt + F2 opens what I think is a back-up terminal? NEED HELP to recover what is lost.

  I am developing a 2d android strategy game, it runs on SurfaceView, so I can't(or can I?) use LibGdx's particle system.   I currently have my app's marketing/external website on the root level, e.g. http://example.com My web app itself is hosted at: http://app.example.com What's the best strategy to set-up Google Analytics tracking for both of them? Should I create a separate web property? Also, what's the difference between creating a new web property and a new profile? UPDATE: I would want to be able to track conversion from a page on the root domain to a sign-up page on the app sub-domain.
