Posting to tumblr in PHP

I am trying to make a test post to my tumblr blog with a php script (that will eventually be ran as a cron job) I have been browsing google and read many answers on here and the closest I found is explained in this post: Tumblr OAuth using PHP's OAuth class I am using the code in his tutorial here: http://vigrond.com/blog/2012/02/04/oauth-extension-php-and-the-tumblr-api/ Pretty much as is, replacing the blogurl with mine and of course the consumer and secret key. When I run the .php script via my browser however, nothing happens. Any ideas? EDIT: The only error I found in cPanel's error log is this: [Wed Oct 31 00:29:25 2012] [error] [client xx.xx.xx.xx ] PHP Warning: session_start() [function.session-start]: Cannot send session cache limiter - headers already sent (output started at /path on line 14 But I fixed this and the error does not appear anymore.

Browser loading strategy, <head>...<body>

I am inspecting some interesting behaviors of browser, I don't know it's in standard or not. If I put everythin inside <head></head>, the browser will only begin to render the page after all the resouces in head is retrieved. So I am thinking that put as little as possible things into head is one of the important website optimization techniques, is it right? My question is: If I put script/css in body or other parts of the html, how can I know that script has been loaded successfully so that I will not be calling a undefined function?

Eclipse - Galileo IDE force save of changed files before build?

Hi, When I used previous versions of Eclipse (e.g. Ganymede/Europa) if I had edited a file and then attempted a build Eclipse would prompt me to save first. Since I updated to Galileo (Build id: 20090920-1017 & just checked for updates) when I build I'm not prompted to save first. Perhaps the dialog had a checkbox for "don't tell me again" which I mistakenly checked on??? I figure it is just a preference setting some where but I can't seem to find it, search in Preferences for 'save' and for 'build' but did not find it. I tried "Save automatically before build" but that actually did not work for me, and isn't really what I was looking for anyways. Any ideas? thanks. Edit: I'm actually using an Ant script to 'build' (right click on script and Run As...Ant Build). So perhaps my original wording was a bit off base since I did not state how I was building.

Duplicate an element on button-push with jQuery

I'm new to jQuery, and I'm trying to cause another identical dropdown menu to appear each time the user presses a button. On Click alert if $.get returns a value, if not, submit the form

If the submit button is clicked, prevent the default action and see if the field 'account_name' is already in use. If the $.get() returns a result, alert the user of the results. If it doesn't, submit form with id="add_account_form". My problem is that my else{} statement is not submitting the form. I get no response when submit is clicked & there is no value returned. EDIT So anyone who runs into my problems, it's that $.get() is asynchronous, so it will always return false, or true depending on what submitForm is defined as. $.ajax() however, allows async to be set as false, which allows the function to finish before moving on. Hi guys, a couple of questions (never done javascript before). Below is part of the what happens on submit, what is something, the action, the php script its sent to? Also is there any software you guys reccomend for checking you're javascript, like the equivalent of an ide? im using notepad++. Is the rest the right sort of idea? I've got a T-SQL script, that converts field to IDENTITY (in a weird way). How do I convert it to PL/SQL? (and, probably, figure out, if there is a simpler way to do this - without creating a temporary table). javascript: problem with function

hi I have this simple function: <script type="text/javascript"> //<![CDATA[ jQuery(function($){ function here(b){alert(b);} ; here(6); }); //]]> </script> and i have this button on page: <button onclick="here(7);">TEST</button> The alert fires on page load, but not on button click. If i replace the here(7) with alert, it works fine. Why doesnt it work with function though? Alan

Bash: infinite sleep

I use startx to start X which will evaluate my .xinitrc. In my .xinitrc I start my window manager using /usr/bin/mywm. Now, if I kill my WM (in order to f.e. test some other WM), X will terminate too because the .xinitrc script reached EOF. So I added this at the end of my .xinitrc: while true; do sleep 10000; done This way X won't terminate if I kill my WM. Now my question: how can I do an infinite sleep instead of looping sleep? Is there a command which will kinda like freeze the script? Best regards

I'm writing bash script, which does several thing. In the beginning it starts several monitor scripts, each of them runs some other tools. At the end of my main script, I would like to kill all things that spawned from my shell. So, it might looks like this: #!/bin/bash some_monitor1.sh & some_monitor2.sh & some_monitor3.sh & do_some_work ... kill_subprocesses The thing is that most of these monitors spawn their own subprocesses, so doing (for example): killall some_monitor1.sh will not always help. Any other way to handle this situation?

JQuery with SMARTY php

This might seem a very noob question but I haven't found the answer yet. I have a header.tpl file which contains xhtml code. I want to and some java script to it using jquery. But my problem is that it simple doesn't happen what I tell it to do. Because the page hoster comiples php with SMARTY I had to make a small change to the block script, which was had the {literal} {/literal}. But the rest seems ok. Btw the jquery.js is on the same folder as the header.tpl. File header.tpl http://feupload.fe.up.pt/get/SQWJvybQkDCmjEG PS: I event replaced all the code by the getstarted tutorial on the jquery homepage and added the {literlar} {/literal} (otherwise it would give an error) and it steel didn't work

Flash crash on long JSON load time

I have a Flex program that gets a JSON array from a PHP script. The PHP script doesn't contain just a simple JSON array but it grabs data from Activecollab and do some work on the data before encoding the data. The first test involve a small JSON array that took a short time to encode by PHP. However, when I try to scale up the test, the Flash movie will crash trying to load the JSON data from PHP. There's no code difference between the tests, just the amount of data and amount of time it takes PHP to encode. Am I looking at a memory problem or a time out problem?

make: invoke command for multiple targets of multiple files?

Hi, I looking to optimize an existing Makefile. It's used to create multiple plots (using Octave) for every logfile in a given directory using an scriptfile for every plot which takes a logfilename as an argument. In the Moment, I use one single rule for every kind of plot available, with a handwritten call to Octave, giving the specific scriptfile/logfile as an argument. It would be nice, if every plot has "his" octave-script as a dependency (plus the logfile, of course), so only one plot is regenerated if his script is changed. Since I don't want to type that much, I wonder how I can simplifiy this by using only one general rule to build "a" plot? To make it clearer: Logfile: "$(LOGNAME).log" Scriptfile: "plot$(PLOTNAME).m" creates "$(LOGNAME)_$(PLOTNAME).png" The first thing I had in mind: %1_%2.png: %1.log $(OCTAVE) --eval "plot$<2('$<1')" But this seems not to be allowed. Could someone give me a hint?

Internet explore is unresponsive while loading a large page

We have a html page being rendered in the browser (IE) that causes the browser to hang. The page is generated through server side script (ASP.NET and viewstate is disabled). The page while loading takes a long time (its not a b\w issue since we can reproduce it on local machine) and sometimes results in script unresponsive error. On debugging the issue we found that the html size on the client side is 4.73 MB. There's also a lot of DOM traversal (using JQuery) after document is ready (jquery-document.ready). After loading as well, the page simply hangs on any user interaction (scroll, mouseover) etc. A CPU usage spike (25-50% usage) is seen during loading and on any user interaction

Why does sh/bash set command line parameter values when trying to set environment variable?

A question on basics : While tuning environment variables for a program launched from a script, I ended up with somewhat strange behaviour with sh (which seems to be actually linked to bash) : variable setting seems to mess up with command-line parameters. Could somebody explain why does this happen? A simple script: #! /bin/sh # Messes with $1 ?? set ANT_OPTS=-Xmx512M export ANT_OPTS # Works # export ANT_OPTS=-Xmx512M echo "0 = $0" echo "1 = $1" When I run this with the upper alternative (set + export), the result is as following: $ ./test.sh foo 0 = ./test.sh 1 = ANT_OPTS=-Xmx512M But with lower alternative (export straight), the result is as I supposed: $ ./test.sh foo 0 = ./test.sh 1 = foo There is surely logical explanation, I just haven't figured it out yet. Modify HTML in a Internet Explorer window using external.menuArguments

Hi all... I've a vb.net class that is invoked with a context menu extension in Internet Explorer. The code has access to the object model of the page, and reading data is not a problem. This is the code of a test funcion... it changes the status bar text (OK), prints the page html (OK), changes the html by adding a text and prints again the page html (ok, in the second popup my added text is in the html) But the Internet Explorer window doesnt't show it. Making a jQuery plugin work on all objects

I am using the jQuery physics plugin for a pet project I am working on. The plugin enables the moving of DOM objects in realistic ways using velocity, gravity, wind etc. However I want to use the plugin to calculate where objects are to be placed inside a canvas element, not DOM objects.
