  • xsl:variable does not return a node-set in XSLT 2.0?

    Hi all, I'm trying to get a node-set from a xsl variable for calculating. But my code only work with Opera, with other browsers, I keep getting the error. Please help me fix to run with all browser. Thanks in advance.     hi all, i am a newbie to javascript... i have two select boxes with multiple selection enabled.When i select an element from first select box it scrolls into view the corrosponding element from the second list.The single selection goes fine in all browsers explorer,firefox,chrome. now, if i select the first,last element from the first selection box the second select box does not scrolls into view the last selected element in chrome browser.although , it works fine in internet explorer and firefox.   • Auto blocking attacking IP address

    This is to share my PowerShell code online. I original asked this question on MSDN forum (or TechNet?) here: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/winserversecurity/thread/f950686e-e3f8-4cf2-b8ec-2685c1ed7a77 In short, this is trying to find attacking IP address then add it into Firewall block rule. So I suppose: 1, You are running a Windows Server 2008 facing the Internet. 2, You need to have some port open for service, e.g. TCP 21 for FTP; TCP 3389 for Remote Desktop. You can see in my code I’m only dealing with these two since that’s what I opened. You can add further port number if you like, but the way to process might be different with these two. 3, I strongly suggest you use STRONG password and follow all security best practices, this ps1 code is NOT for adding security to your server, but reduce the nuisance from brute force attack, and make sys admin’s life easier: i.e. your FTP log won’t hold megabytes of nonsense, your Windows system log will not roll back and only can tell you what happened last month. 4, You are comfortable with setting up Windows Firewall rules, in my code, my rule has a name of “MY BLACKLIST”, you need to setup a similar one, and set it to BLOCK everything. 5, My rule is dangerous because it has the risk to block myself out as well. I do have a backup plan i.e. the DELL DRAC5 so that if that happens, I still can remote console to my server and reset the firewall. 6, By no means the code is perfect, the coding style, the use of PowerShell skills, the hard coded part, all can be improved, it’s just that it’s good enough for me already. Please replace as well. 3, The threshold for 3389 attack is 20, you don’t want to block yourself just because you typed your password wrong 3 times, you can change this threshold by your own reasoning. 4, FTP is checking the log for attack only to the last 5 mins, you can change that as well. 5, I suppose the server is serving FTP on both IP address and their LOG path are C:\inetpub\logs\LogFiles\FPTSVC2 and C:\inetpub\logs\LogFiles\FPTSVC3. Change accordingly. 6, FTP checking code is only asking for the last 200 lines of log, and the threshold is 10, change as you wish. 7, the code runs in a loop, you can set the loop time at the last line. To run this code, copy and paste to your editor, finish all the editing, get it to your server, and open an CMD window, then type powershell.exe –file your_powershell_file_name.ps1, it will start running, you can Ctrl-C to break it. This is what you see when it’s running: This is when it detected attack and adding the firewall rule: Regarding the design of the code: 1, There are many ways you can detect the attack, but to add an IP into a block rule is no small thing, you need to think hard before doing it, reason for that may include: You don’t want block yourself; and not blocking your customer/user, i.e. the good guy. 2, Thus for each service/port, I double check. For 3389, first it needs to show in netstat.exe, then the Event log; for FTP, first check the Event log, then the FTP log files. 3, At three places I need to make sure I’m not adding myself into the block rule. –ne with single IP, –like with subnet.   Now the final bit: 1, The code will stop working after a while (depends on how busy you are attacked, could be weeks, months, or days?!) It will throw Red error message in CMD, don’t Panic, it does no harm, but it also no longer blocking new attack. THE REASON is not confirmed with MS people: the COM object to manage firewall, you can only give it a list of IP addresses to the length of around 32KB I think, once it reaches the limit, you get the error message. 2, This is in fact my second solution to use the COM object, the first solution is still in the comment block for your reference, which is using netsh, that fails because being run from CMD, you can only throw it a list of IP to 8KB. 3, I haven’t worked the workaround yet, some ideas include: wrap that RemoteAddresses setting line with error checking and once it reaches the limit, use the newly detected IP to be the list, not appending to it. This basically reset your block rule to ground zero and lose the previous bad IPs. This does no harm as it sounds, because given a certain period has passed, any these bad IPs still not repent and continue the attack to you, it only got 30 seconds or 20 guesses of your password before you block it again. And there is the benefit that the bad IP may turn back to the good hands again, and you are not blocking a potential customer or your CEO’s home pc because once upon a time, it’s a zombie. Thus the ZEN of blocking: never block any IP for too long. 4, But if you insist to block the ugly forever, my other ideas include: You call MS support, ask them how can we set an arbitrary length of IP addresses in a rule; at least from my experiences at the Forum, they don’t know and they don’t care, because they think the dynamic blocking should be done by some expensive hardware. Or, from programming perspective, you can create a new rule once the old is full, then you’ll have MY BLACKLIST1, MY  BLACKLIST2, MY BLACKLIST3, … etc. Once in a while you can compile them together and start a business to sell your blacklist on the market!     I'm trying to debug my first app on the device and got this error message, A valid provisioning profile for this executable was not found. I've gone thru the Apple manuals, checked SO and other sites but cannot work out what I've done wrong? This is what I've done so far. Got my provisioning profile. I check Organizer and it's there, plus it shows that it is installed on my iPhone (green button). My profile is in ~/library/MobileDevice/Provisioning Profiles My certificate is in Keychain Access In Xcode I have have the Project Info showing the Entitlements correctly. The Code Signing Identity matches what's in Keychain. I've set the Target Info to be the same as Project Info. Have I done something inconsistently?

  • Reactive Extensions vs FileSystemWatcher

    One of the things that has long bugged me about the FileSystemWatcher is the way it fires multiple events for a single logical change to a file. I know why it happens, but I don't want to have to care - I just want to reparse the file once, not 4-6 times in a row. Ideally, there would be an event that only fires when a given file is done changing, rather than every step along the way. Over the years I've come up with various solutions to this problem, of varying degrees of ugliness. I thought Reactive Extensions would be the ultimate solution, but there's something I'm not doing right, and I'm hoping someone can point out my mistake. I have an extension method: public static IObservable<IEvent<FileSystemEventArgs>> GetChanged(this FileSystemWatcher that) { return Observable.FromEvent<FileSystemEventArgs>(that, "Changed"); } Ultimately, I would like to get one event per filename, within a given time period - so that four events in a row with a single filename are reduced to one event, but I don't lose anything if multiple files are modified at the same time. BufferWithTime sounds like the ideal solution. var bufferedChange = watcher.GetChanged() .Select(e => e.EventArgs.FullPath) .BufferWithTime(TimeSpan.FromSeconds(1)) .Where(e => e.Count > 0) .Select(e => e.Distinct()); When I subscribe to this observable, a single change to a monitored file triggers my subscription method four times in a row, which rather defeats the purpose. If I remove the Distinct() call, I see that each of the four calls contains two identical events - so there is some buffering going on. Increasing the TimeSpan passed to BufferWithTime seems to have no effect - I went as high as 20 seconds without any change in behavior. This is my first foray into Rx, so I'm probably missing something obvious. Am I doing it wrong? Is there a better approach? Thanks for any suggestions...

    I am developing an iPhone application and I use HTML to display formatted text. I often display the same webpage, but with a different content. I would like to use a template HTML file, and then fill it with my diffent values. I wonder if ObjectiveC has a template system similar to ERB in Ruby. That would allow to do things like Template: <HTML> <HEAD> </HEAD> <BODY> <H1>{{{title}}}</H1> <P>{{{content}}}</P> </BODY> </HTML> ObjectiveC (or what it may be in an ideal world) Template* template = [[Template alloc] initWithFile:@"my_template.tpl"]; [template fillMarker:@"title" withContent:@"My Title"]; [template fillMarker:@"content" withContent:@"My text here"]; [template process]; NSString* result = [template result]; [template release]; And the result string would contain: <HTML> <HEAD> </HEAD> <BODY> <H1>My Title</H1> <P>My text here</P> </BODY> </HTML> The above example could be achieved with some text replacement, but that would be a pain to maintain.   • Warping Images using cvWarpPerspective Results in Some Parts of the images out of the viewable area

    Hi, I am trying to stich two images together. In order to do so I extracted sift features and find matches on the two images using this C implementation. http://web.engr.oregonstate.edu/~hess/index.html After that I found the homography matrix using the matched points. http://www.ics.forth.gr/~lourakis/homest/ But if I use this Homography Matrix in "cvWarpPerspective" function, some of the parts of the image goes out of the viewable area (negative corrdinates). To solve this I tried to calculate the bounding box first by piping the four corners of the image through Homography matrix. And move the initial image then warp it. But this caused the warping result to change. Is there any way for warping an image and keeping it in the viewable area? I would appreciate any help. Thanks in advance...

    I have a DLL that I would like to install into the Global Assembly Cache so that it can be referenced from multiple locations. I have a File declaration with the Assembly attribute set to ".net" but when the installation tries to install the DLL into the GAC, I get the following error (I have tided it up a bit to make it more readable): MSI (s) (58:38) [19:14:31:031]: Product: MyProductName 1.01 -- Error 1935.   • FSharp.Compiler.CodeDom for VS2008 and VS2010 side-by-side

    I'm using FSharp.Compiler.CodeDom to dynamically create F# classes. The problem is, that I have both VS2008 and VS2010 on my computer side-by-side (they works fine), and using F# in this configuration is buggy at best: If I don't install InstallFSharp.msi, then under VS2008 the built classes complain about not finding FSharp.Core (even if they're referenced) If I install InstallFSharp.msi, then under VS2008 the built classes will use the F# built for VS2010, and will throw a binary-incompatibility exception, because it will load the .net4 variant: FSC: error FS0219: The referenced or default base CLI library 'mscorlib' is binary- incompatible with the referenced F# core library 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft F#\v4.0\FSharp.Core.dll'. Consider recompiling the library or making an explicit reference to a version of this library that matches the CLI version you are using. If I replace the F# found at the previous location to the separately installed dll-s, then of course VS2010 will complain about binary-incompatibility Am I overlooking something, or they won't simply work for a shared environment like this? This might mean real problems when I deploy the applications. Thanks

  • Subtotal error on calculated field in a Reporting Services Matrix

    I've got a Reporting Services report that has two row groups: Category and SubCategory. For columns it has LastYearDataA, ThisYearDataA, LastYearDataB, ThisYearDataB. I added two columns (one for A and one for B) to handle an expression calculation (to show a percentage different from LastYear to ThisYear for each). That's working. The problem comes in the SubTotal for each category. The raw numbers are totaling correctly. If SubCat1 has 10//5 for LastYear/ThisYear A, and SubCat2 has 5//1, then I get 15/5 for the totals. But I get the percentage reported in the total column as "50%", matching SubCat1. Percentages for each Subcategory are being calculated correctly (according to my backup math, anyway). But the sub total % always matches the first SubCategory in the group. Is this impossible to do in Reporting Services 2005?

  • Cannot SSH after resetting firewall on VPS

    I'm having trouble trying to SSH to my Debian 5 VPS with blacknight. It was working fine until I did the following: Logged into 'Parallels Infrastructure Manager' - Container - Firewall - Set to 'Normal Firewall settings'. It told me there was an error with the IPTables and offered the option again with a checkbox to 'reset' firewall settings, I selected this. I can see that that the default rules are been applied ( anything from anyone on any port and allowing anything to happen).   • Exclude a directory from a rewriterule using ISAPI rewrite 3

    Basically I've recently added the below rule in my httpd.conf for ISAPI rewrite on an IIS server to make sure that it always defaults to lower-case file and directory names. RewriteRule ^(.*[A-Z].*)$ $1 [CL,R=301,L] This is all fine and dandy for every part of the site except for one directory which we can call /MisbehavingDir, the code in this particular directory is filled with mixed-case filenames and lots of server- and client-side scripting that would have to be rewritten to use all lower-case in order to work properly (with the RewriteRule above it seems to hit a couple of 301s in the wrong places which causes that part of the site to function poorly to say the least). Since I'm not in the mood for rewriting that part of the site I'd love to find a good way to modify the above regex so that it matches everything except paths starting with MisbehavingDir and since my regex-fu isn't really good enough I figured I'd ask here. Is there a simple "beautiful" solution to this that anyone wants to share or should I just set aside several days to rewrite the app, then test it and go through that whole dance?

    Nevrona Designs' Rave Reports is a Report Engine for use by Embarcadero's Delphi IDE. This is what I call the Rave Endless Loop bug. In Rave Reports version 6.5.0 (VCL10) that comes bundled with Delphi 2006, there is a nortorious bug that plagues many Rave report developers. If you have a non-empty dataset, and the data rows for this dataset fit exactly into a page (that is to say there are zero widow rows), then upon PrintPreview, Rave will get stuck in an infinite loop generating pages. This problem has been previously reported in this newsgroup under the following headings: "error: generating infinite pages"; Hugo Hiram 20/9/2006 8:44PM "Rave loop bug.   • Synchronizing Asynchronous request handlers in Silverlight environment

    For our senior design project my group is making a Silverlight application that utilizes graph theory concepts and stores the data in a database on the back end. We have a situation where we add a link between two nodes in the graph and upon doing so we run analysis to re-categorize our clusters of nodes. The problem is that this re-categorization is quite complex and involves multiple queries and updates to the database so if multiple instances of it run at once it quickly garbles data and breaks (by trying to re-insert already used primary keys). Essentially it's not thread safe, and we're trying to make it safe, and that's where we're failing and need help :). But instead they all seem to be running and conflicting with each other in the verifyClusters method. One solution would be to force our front end calls to be made synchronously. And in fact, when we do that everything works fine, so the code logic isn't broken. But when it's launched our application will be deployed within a business setting and used by internal IT staff (or at least that's the plan) so we'll have the same problem. We can't force all clients to submit data at different times, so we really need to get it synchronized on the back end.     I'm trying to grep through a bunch of files in nested subdirectories to look for regular expression matches; my regex requires negative lookbehind. Perl has negative lookbehind, but as far as I can tell GNU grep doesn't support negative lookbehinds. What's the easiest way to get an equivalent to GNU grep that supports negative lookbehinds? (I guess I could write my own mini-grep in Perl, but that doesn't seem like it should be necessary. My copy of the Perl Cookbook includes source for tcgrep; is that what I should use? If so, where's the latest version? Don't tell me I have to type this entire program!)

My Manifest file is using the Internet Permission, and I understand it passes the to the Google Servers. Do I need to do anything else to use this. The actual captcha value is stored in session and i need to validate that the input field values matches the value in session. In order to do validation, my model is passed a 'ValidationContext'. Question: i can't seem to access session data from the ValidationContext. How do i do this? Thanks!

I made sure the body class matches the dojo theme, that I dojo.require() for all the widgets I use (and dojo.parser), and still, nada. The code I'm using is: dojo.addOnLoad (function () { var _query = dojo.query('.toggle'); for (var i=0; i < _query.length; i++) { dojo.connect(_query[i], 'onchange', function (ev) { console.log(ev + ' fired onchange'); }); } }); Any help at all would be appreciated.

  • ListView + MultipleSelect + MVVM = ?

    If I were to say "the heck with it!", I could just give my ListView with SelectionMode="Multiple" a name, and be able to get all of the selected items very easily. But I'm trying to stick to MVVM as much as possible, and I want to somehow databind to an ObservableCollection that holds the value from the Name column for each selected item. How in the world do you do this? Single selection is simple, but the multi selection solution is not obvious to me with my current WPF / MVVM knowledge. I read this question on SO, and while it does give me some good insight, I don't know how to add the necessary binding to a row, because I am using a ListView with a GridView as its View, not a ListBox. Here's what my XAML basically looks like: <ListView DockPanel.Dock="Top" ItemsSource="{Binding ClientPreview}" SelectionMode="Multiple"> <ListView.View> <GridView AllowsColumnReorder="False"> <GridViewColumn Header="Name"> <GridViewColumn.CellTemplate> <DataTemplate> <TextBlock Text="{Binding Path=Name}" /> </DataTemplate> </GridViewColumn.CellTemplate> </GridViewColumn> <GridViewColumn Header="Address"> <GridViewColumn.CellTemplate> <DataTemplate> <TextBlock Text="{Binding Path=Address}" /> </DataTemplate> </GridViewColumn.CellTemplate> </GridViewColumn> </GridView> </ListView.View> </ListView> It sounds like the right thing to do is to databind each row's IsSelected property to each object stored in the ObservableCollection I'm databinding to. I just haven't figured out how to do this.

  • GWT Best Practices - MVP

    A question for all the GWT gurus out there. I'm a newbie in GWT and am trying to understand the best practices of coding a GWT application. I have gone through "Large scale application development and MVP" based on Ray Ryan's talk at Google I/O 2009 and it has given me a good starting point. I downloaded the sample source code as well for the Contacts application based on the best practices listed. The application I'm trying to develop using GWT is a bit bigger (in terms of the modules involved) when compared to the sample "Contacts" application & so I want to split it up into multiple functions. I have been reading that having a single Entry point in a GWT application is a good idea, and I don't want to dump all the code in one single AppController class & one single RpcService, what would be the best approach in this situation? How would I go about dispatching the control to multiple controllers? Is there a way to achieve this using some classes in the GWT framework?
