• iPhone: How to read contents from UIWebView XML Document?

  Hi all. In my iPhone app I'm using a UIWebView to allow the user to browse to an XML document on a website. When the user has found the xml document they want, they click a button below the UIWebView. Then I try to read the contents of the XML document from the UIWebView using: NSString *xml = [webView stringByEvaluatingJavaScriptFromString:@"document.getElementByTagName('rootXmlNodeName')[0].innerHTML"]; This doesn't work for me for XML documents. It works fine in a HTML page, e.g. using "html" for the rootXmlNodeName in the code snippet above. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

• Spring MVC annotation config problem

  I'm trying to improve my spring mvc configuration so as to not require a new config file for every servlet I add, but I'm running into problems. I've tried using this tutorial as a starting point, but I'm running into an issue that I can't figure out. The problem is that when I do a GET to my servlet, I get back a 404 error.   I get data in from POST and validate it via this standard snippet: entry_formset = EntryFormSet(request.POST, request.FILES, prefix='entries') if entry_formset.is_valid(): .... The EntryFormSet modelform overrides a foreign key field widget to present a text field. That way, the user can enter an existing key (suggested via an Ajax live search), or enter a new key, which will be seamlessly added. I use this try-except block to test if the object exists already, and if it doesn't, I add it. entity_name = request.POST['entries-0-entity'] try: entity = Entity.objects.get(name=entity_name) except Entity.DoesNotExist: entity = Entity(name=entity_name) entity.slug = slugify(entity.name) entity.save() However, I now need to get that entity back into the entry_formset. It thinks that entries-0-entity is a string (that's how it came in); how can I directly access that value of the entry_formset and get it to take the object reference instead?

  Hi, I'm facing currently a problem regarding Subsonic configuration. What I want to achieve is using subsonic data access in a System.Web.UI.Design.ControlDesigner class. This class is hosted in Visual Studio Environment and enables design time operations on the attached System.Web.UI.WebControls.Control. The only problem is SubSonic seems always looking for SubSonicSection in the application configuration regardless passing connection string to it. The relevant code snippet: using (SharedDbConnectionScope dbScope = new SharedDbConnectionScope(new SqlDataProvider(), ConnectionString)) { Table1 _table1 = new Select().From<..().Where(...).IsEqualTo(...).ExecuteSingle<...>(); Throws exception on ExecuteSingle() method (configuration section was not found) while using (SharedDbConnectionScope dbScope = new SharedDbConnectionScope(ConnectionString)) { Throws exception on new SharedDbConnectionScope() (configuration section was not found) So the question is: Is there any way to pass the settings runtime to bypass the configuration section lookup as I don't want to add any subsonic specific configuration to devenv.configuration Thanks

• Using DataAnnotations with Entity Framework

  I have used the Entity Framework with VS2010 to create a simple person class with properties, firstName, lastName, and email. If I want to attach DataAnnotations like as is done in this blog post I have a small problem because my person class is dynamically generated. I could edit the dynamically generated code directly but any time I have to update my model all my validation code would get wiped out. First instinct was to create a partial class and try to attach annotations but it complains that I'm trying to redefine the property. I'm not sure if you can make property declarations in C# like function declarations in C++. If you could that might be the answer.   I've run the following code snippet on the MIPS MARS simulator. That simulator is little endian. So the results are as follows: lui $t0,0x1DE # $t0 = 0x01DE0000 ori $t0,$t0,0xCADE # $t0 = 0x01DECADE lui $t1,0x1001 # $t1 = 0x10010000 sw $t0,200($t1) # $t1 + 200 bytes = 0x01DECADE lw $t2,200($t1) # $t2 = 0x01DECADE So on a little endian MIPS simulator, the value of $t2 at the end of the program is 0x01DECADE. If this simulator was big endian, what would the value be? Would it be 0xDECADE01 or would it still be 0x01DECADE?

  I am having trouble understanding the following article: http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/java/library/j-jtp01255.html Under, Generics are not covariant the author states, Because ln is a List, adding a Float to it seems perfectly legal. But if ln were aliased with li, then it would break the type-safety promise implicit in the definition of li -- that it is a list of integers, which is why generic types cannot be covariant. I can't understand the part where it says "if ln were aliased with li". What does the author means by alias?(reference?). The code snippet above the quoted line seems to illustrate WHAT is illegal in java and not WHY. It would be very helpful to me if somebody could explain with an example. Thanks in advance.

• XML deserialization doesn't read in second level

  Sorry if the title doesn't make much sense, but I'm not too familiar with the terminology. My question is: I have a config.xml file for a program I'm working on. I created an xsd file by 'xsd.exe config.xml'. I then took this xsd and added it to the solution in visual studio. My last step used a program called xsd2code that turned that xsd file into a class I can serialize too. The problem is it doesn't read more then a layer deep in the xml tree. By this I mean the elements in the root node get deserialized into my object, but those that are in a node inside the root node are not. I found this out by putting a breakpoint after the deserialization and looking at my object. Any Ideas? Let me know if this needs some clarification or you need a snippet of something.

  Today I've tried C compiler (Clang) for C code I use in my haskell library and found that I can gain speed increase in comparsing with my system compiler (GCC 4.4.3) from 426.404 Gbit/s to 0.823 Tbit/s So I decided to add some flags to control the way that C source file is compiled (i.e. something like use-clang, use-intel etc.).   Hi, I am trying to test a WPF application using the UI-Automation framework that MSFT provides. There were a few powershell scripts written that invoked the cmdlets created to manipulate the visual controls of the application. There is a DropDown within my application that has an entry 'DropDownEntry'. In my cmdlet, I am trying to do something as follows: AutomationElement getItem = DropDown.FindFirst(TreeScope.Descendants, new AndCondition( new PropertyCondition(AutomationElement.ControlTypeProperty,ControlType.ListItem), new PropertyCondition(AutomationElement.NameProperty, "DropDownEntry",PropertyConditionFlags.IgnoreCase))); The above given snippet returns 'null' upon execution which essentially means that the above given logic was unable to find my dropdown entry. Can somebody tell me why this might be happening? I checked the name of my control and the values. Everything seems to be in order. I am not sure why this would be happening. • Python: Getting INVALID response from PayPal's Sandbox IPN, slowly going insane...

  Hi All I am trying to implement a simple online payment system using PayPal, however I have tried everything I know and am still getting an INVALID response. I know it's nothing too simple, because I get a VERIFIED response when using the IPN simulator. I have tried putting the items into a dict first, I have tried fixing the encoding, and still nothing. • How to escape HAML for Javascript in Sinatra

  I would like to return a list/combobox from an ajax request ("Which on of these do you like?" type thing). I would like to write that little snippet in HAML, which converts it to HTML, but when I do, the page goes blank. I'm assuming this is because the HTML isn't escaped. Is there a way to escape HAML so I can do $("#mydiv").html(response);? Here's the method: post "/something" do # process... haml :"partials/_select", :layout => false, :locals => {:collection => choices} end ... the haml template: %select - collection.each do |item| %option{:value => item.to_s}= item.to_s ... and the javascript: success: function(responseText, statusText, xhr, $form) { $(".dialog_content").append(responseText); } I have tried the sinatra_more plugin and the escape_javascript method, but there's problems with the haml buffer in sinatra. • How do I test SendInput in c#

  How can I tell if my call to SendInput is working properly? I have a small snippet below, and the message never seems to get hit. SendInput() returns 1, and there's no errors, so I assume that the message is going out properly. • Problem reading hexadecimal buffer from C socket

  I'm using the SDL_net sockets API to create a server and client. I can easily read a string buffer, but when I try to send hexadecimal data, recv gets the length, but I cannot seem to be a able to read the buffer contents. IPaddress ip; TCPsocket server,client; int bufSize = 1024; char message[bufSize]; int len; server = SDLNet_TCP_Open(&ip); client = SDLNet_TCP_Accept(server); len = SDLNet_TCP_Recv(client,message,bufSize); Here's a snippet. the buffer length "len" is set (i.e. message length) but I can't get to the data contents in the message buffer. Some sample bind_transmitter PDU data was sent by a random client to the server at that port. I can't read the PDU (SMPP).

I always thought the advantage of asynchronous IO was that the user/programm does not have to wait.
