  • Need to parse HTML document for links-- use a library like html5lib or something else?

    I'm a very newbie webpage builder, currently working on creating a website that needs to change link colours according to the destination page. The links will be sorted into different classes (e.g. good, bad, neutral) by certain user input criteria-- e.g. links with content the user would find of interest is colored blue, stuff that the user (presumably) doesn't want to see is colored as normal text, etc. I reckon I need a way to parse the webpage for links to the content (stored in MySQL database), change the colors for all the links on the page (so I need to be able to change the link classes in the HTML as well) before outputting the adapted page to the user. I read that regex is not a good way to find those links-- so should I use a library, and if so, is html5lib good for what I'm doing?

  • XIB-instantiated Object's IBOutlet is nil

    I have a XIB set up like in this screenshot: File's owner is my main window controller. The XIB is also in charge of creating an object that serves as the delegate for the MGScopeBar view. As you can see in the screenshot, the scope bar delegate has an IBOutlet for the search field so that it can return it as an extra view as part of the delegate process. The problem I'm having is that when the delegate object is queried for the accessory view, the IBOutlet NSSearchField is nil. I'm fairly certain this has something to do with the order that objects are created, IBOutlets wired, etc, but I'm just a little lost as to where in the process I can expect the search field to exist so that the scope bar delegate can reference it properly. Thanks in advance for any pointers.

  • Web/HTML: how do referrer work technically?

    I don't understand how comes webserver and trackers like Google Analytics are able to track referrals. Is it part of HTTP? Is it some (un)specified behavior of the browsers? Apparently everytime you click on a link on a webpage, the original webpage is passed along the request. What is the exact mechanism behind that? Is it specified by some spec? I've read a few docs and I've played with my own Tomcat server and my own Google Analytics account, but I don't understand how the "magic" happens. Bonus (totally related) question: if, on my own website (served by Tomcat), I put a link to another site, does the other site see my website as the "referrer" without me doing anything special in Tomcat?

  • Triggering shouldStartLoadWithRequest with multiple window.location.href calls

    Im trying to pass multiple things from a webpage inside a UIWebView back to my iPhone app via the shouldStartLoadWithRequest method of the UIWebView. Basically my webpage calls window.location.href = "command://foo=bar" and i am able to intercept that in my app no problem. Now if i create a loop and do multiple window.location.href calls at once, then shouldStartLoadWithRequest only appears to get called on once and the call it gets is the very last firing of window.location.href at the end of the loop. The same thing happens with the webview for Android, only the last window.location.href gets processed.

  • .NET Impersonate and file upload issues

    I have a webpage that allows a user to upload a file to a network share. When I run the webpage locally (within VS 2008) and try to upload the file, it works! However, when I deploy the website to the webserver and try to upload the file through the webpage, it doesn't work! The error being returned to me on the webserver says "Access to the path '\05prd1\emp\test.txt' is denied. So, obviously, this is a permissions issue. The network share is configured to allow full access both to me (NT authentication) and to the NETWORK SERVICE (which is .NET's default account and what we have set in our IIS application pool as the default user for this website). I have tried this with and without impersonation upon the webserver and neither way works, yet both ways work on my local machine (in other words, with and without impersonation works on my local machine). The code that does the file upload is below.     I would like to know if the following is possible: As part of the PageLoad of an ASP.Net page request: Use HttpWebRequest (POST) to make a request to a forms authentication webpage of a different web application Examine the response to see if the authentication succeeded (identifiable if an authentication cookie has been set) If it fails, then finish the ASP.Net page request, which will display a message saying "couldn't auto-login" or some such thing If success, then instead of completing the ASP.Net page lifecycle, use "Response.Write" to send the response from the HttpWebRequest back to the browser (thus essentially displaying the webpage from the HttpWebRequest) If the above is possible, then, is there also a way to transfer the authentication cookie from the HttpWebResponse to the requesting browser? My gut feeling is probably not - but if this is the case, then how do proxy servers handle such things? Is that not essentially what they are doing? Thanks for any help

  • CSS repeat pattern with linear gradient

    I'm on my first approach with photoshop patterns.I'm buildin a webpage where I want to use my pattern to give a nice effect to my webpage background. The pattern I found is 120x120 px If I was done here I should use this css: background-imag:url(mypattern.jpg); background-repeat:repeat; But Im not done.Id like to *add to my page's background a linear gradient(dir=top/down col=light-blue/green) with the pattern fill layer on top of it, with blending mode=darken *. This is the final effect: I come to the point. QUESTION: Combining linear vertical-gradient effect and my 120x120 pattern is it possible to find a pattern that I could use to repeat itself endlessly both vertical and horizontal??which is a common solution in this case?     hi, I am facing critical problem for integration of WAS Server-Apache Server.I am using the WAS server for the connection pooling for the database calling...and my webpage is hosted in the apache server and the webpage serarch box is calling the WAS Server and i am using struts frame work for autocomplete action... but it is working in IE of all versions.. but it is not working any browser... the JS file HTTPsuggestions are going to the structs frame work... but the response is is giving as null even i am giving the xmlHttpGetSuggestions.status =200 || xmlHttpGetSuggestions.status =0 but i am not getting the autocomplete feature. can you please help to slove this problem.....     I am total newbie in .Net programming so be patient, please ;-). I have problem with resizing window. I want to resize from my app other app's window and take screenshot of it. I do resizing based on this example: http://blogs.geekdojo.net/richard/archive/2003/09/24/181.aspx. But I have a problem. I work on a laptop with 1024x640 pixels screen resolution but I want to resize my window to 1200x1600 px. I can't do that couse display limitations. Is there any tricky solution to resize window for this resolution and take a screenshot of whole window? I've alos tried Sdesk program witch is suggested here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/445893/create-window-larger-than-desktop-display-resolution. Any help?

    We have setup our network as per the tutorial here: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Upside-Down-TernetHowTo. Basically, we have a squid proxy that inverts images for pages that clients request. We're trying to modify the script so that we can edit the contents of the webpage before the webpage is sent to the client. We are not having any luck. I'm wondering if there is something different about .html files that makes this not possible. What is happening is that we do a wget on the URI that is requested, save it locally, modify it and then echo back the new URI. The page that the user gets is the unmodified page and not the one that we just changed.

    Hi, Is it possible to have multiple login pages for different folders within an asp.net application? Say I have this structure: /admin /customer /login-admin.aspx /login-customer.aspx I have 2 different login forms. One for the admin people and one for the customers (the forms are different as the customers need to provide extra information on their login page). In the authentication section of the webconfig file (which is at the root of the web app), I can only specify one Login page. So how can I make sure thaf if anyone tries to access a webpage in /admin they will be redirected to /login-admin.aspx and if they try to access a webpage in /customer they will be redirected to /login-customer.aspx ?   • Wrong bbox or descent with @font-face and opentype font

    Hey all, I embedded a opentype font with @font-face. Works fine, but the bbox or descent (or baseline/descent line?) is wrong on certain browsers/OSs. The problem is e.g. on a Mac the bbox is not right, that means to center the text in it's bbox I have to set a padding to the paragraph. I guess the font was created on Windows and was not tested on Linux and OS X, and the font rendering engines in these OSs work diffrently. Any idea how to solve withs problem?   • how to change link url on the web browser's status bar.

    I already read many article about this issue in here, SO. I just want to discuss how to do it. NOT the moral issue. -- for example. at the google search webpage. before I click the link, the link does not indicate the google url. but After I click the link with shift-key, the url on the status bar is changed. this mean the google webpage indicate 'Fake URL'. the google compressed script is too difficult to read and analyze. # edited The second url should work on ie8 even if I click with ctrl key.

  • Is Eclipse Remote System Explorer broken on Windows?

    I have the following setup on Windows 7 Ultimate x64: Eclipse Indigo 2.7.2 (Build: M20120208-0800) Remote System Explorer 3.3.2 (see screenshot) (Oracle/Sun) Java 1.6 Update 31 (x86) Despite all my best efforts I am unable to connect to a remote system (a Centos 5.6 server on my local LAN) using a Remote System Explorer SSH connection - I've tried both password authentication and using my SSH private key. Here is a screenshot of both the Eclipse error dialogue and what is logged in my /var/log/secure log file: /var/log/secure: Apr 1 12:00:21 nagios sshd[6176]: Received disconnect from 172.16.3.88: 3: com.jcraft.jsch.JSchException: Auth fail When I connect for the first time I do get prompted to verify the authenticity of the remote host and the RSA key fingerprint. But that's as far as things go. Performing the same operation with the same credentials on my Fedora Core 16 box (also running the same version of Eclipse and Java) to the same server is successful. This leads me to believe that RSE SSH support on Windows is either broken or there's some piece of the SSH-on-Windows puzzle I'm missing. Is this the case?

    In my application an external website places link in my web page and the link does not have target=_blank. More specifically its iframe in my webpage whose src is another domain which I have no control. The content in this iframe contains links that opens in the same window wiping off my ajax driven web page and taking the user to the other domain. Is there a way to intercept this ( via javascript? ) and make the link open in another window or browser tab? It would be even much better if the link opens within the same iframe on my webpage. Is this possible? Is target="_self" makes the link open in the same iframe?

  • Subclipse CollabNet Myster Icon

    The scenario is that I'm merging a series of cherry picked revisions from on SVN branch into trunk. I'm using the subclipse CollabNet client to do the merge. Everything works great, except for in addition to the files I picked to merge, my working directory shows a series of changes that svn thinks have changed but that I haven't chosen to merge. If I do a diff on the files in question it tells me there's no differences. If I do a commit, I get the screenshot below, with the mystery icon I haven't been able to find document anywhere.     In wiki article for REST it is indicated that if you use http://example.com/resources DELETE, that means you are deleting the entire collection. If you use http://example.com/resources/7HOU57Y DELETE, that means you are deleting that element. I am doing a WEBSITE, note NOT WEB SERVICE. I have a list that has 1 checkbox for each item on the list. Once i select multiple items for deletion, i will allow users to press a button called DELETE SELECTION. If user presses the button, a js dialog box will popup asking user to confirm the deletion. if user confirms, all the items are deleted. So how should i cater for deleting multiple items in a RESTFUL way? NOTE, currently for DELETE in a webpage, what i do is i use FORM tag with POST as action but include a _method with the value DELETE since this is what was indicated by others in SO on how to do RESTful delete for webpage.

    Hi, I have a webpage underconstruction. I want to notify the people who visit it about its under-construction nature. For that I wanted to show a small transparent or transluscent page on the above page as shown here http://img17.imageshack.us/i/normalpagewithasmallpag.png/ You may notice that i want that page to appear at the center of the webpage overlayed on the original page with a cross at top-right corner. Clicking on that cross may close this small page revealing the page behind it so that the users may see what has been developed so far. I hope you guys have some suggestions for me. I know its possible with javascript but don't know how...any tutorial if available will also help. Thanks a lot.
