  • HTML: Display:none does this allow multiple ID-Attributes with same name (when "hidden")?

    Hello, according to the HTML Standards ID-Attributes of any HTML Tag in a webpage have to be unique in the document!? Does this rule also apply to HTML Tags that have been "disabled/hidden" by using: display:none? Example: <html> <body> <div id="one"></div> <div id="one" style="display:none;"></div> </body> </hmtl> Is this valid HTML or not. So the question is do "display:none"= hidden Elements also "count/matter" in regard to the rule only having unique ID-Attributes in a single webpage? Thanks Jan

  • Adding Multiline html content using javascript

    Hi, I have created a usercontrol and I want to put its generated html using a javascript file in a webpage. But couldnt do so. Like <script src='file.aspx'></script> should add the html from the usercontrol to the container div. The file "file.aspx" has its content-type set to "text/javascript". And using LoadControl() method I am loading the usercontrol, and then using its RenderControl method, I am able to get its generated html. But I couldnt show it up in the webpage. But I am able to add single line html content , but multiline consumed my whole day :( .

  • Does urllib2.urlopen() actually fetch the page?

    hi all, I was condering when I use urllib2.urlopen() does it just to header reads or does it actually bring back the entire webpage? IE does the HTML page actually get fetch on the urlopen call or the read() call? handle = urllib2.urlopen(url) html = handle.read() The reason I ask is for this workflow... I have a list of urls (some of them with short url services) I only want to read the webpage if I haven't seen that url before I need to call urlopen() and use geturl() to get the final page that link goes to (after the 302 redirects) so I know if I've crawled it yet or not. I don't want to incur the overhead of having to grab the html if I've already parsed that page. thanks!

  • download file in iframe in IE

    in a webpage I have a link to let the user download file, such as, "showfile.aspx?filename=xxx" in showfile.aspx, I send the file using Response.OutputStream.Write method. now I get some problem when somebody put this webpage in an IFrame and open in IE, as I checked the code, showfile.aspx is requested twice when clicks the link, and in the second time the cookies of authorization and session Id are missing. I tried to add the p3p header but not working. my question is, is this how the IE designed with iframe? is there anyway to work around? thanks.

    I run an app in fullscreen mode where fullscreen is defined as a theme in xml for the entire app. <style name="AskTingTingTheme" parent="android:Theme"> <item name="android:windowNoTitle">true</item> <item name="android:windowFullscreen">true</item> <item name="android:windowBackground">@null</item> </style> Generally it works ok, but there are some issues in some cases: 1) when I open the search dialog via search button - Screenshot: http://tinyurl.com/3xzadft 2) when I open spinner widgets that are very long and fill the screen (so that the list is usually scrollable) - Screenshot: http://tinyurl.com/39q5ya2 The problem is that when I open the search dialog or spinner widget, the system notification bar occurs for a few millisecs and then scrolls off the screen again. Please see the screenshots linked above. I'm currently on 2.2 with NexusOne, but same thing happened on 2.1update1 (esp. case 2) as well before.

  • Dreamweaver utf-8 encoded php page displays wrong chinese character in IE and Chrome, correct in FF

    I have an issue with character encoding: I have this page: http://www.studiomille.jp/class/ (its in japanese but the character in question is from chinese i think) FF shows it correctly, IE (all versions) and Chrome doesn't (sorry larger screenshots): FF Screenshot: IE Screenshot: (there are other character that are different throughout the site, this is just one example) Everything is set to UTF-8: * PHP sends header: Content-Type:text/html; charset=UTF-8 * PHP starts with: mb_language('uni'); mb_internal_encoding('UTF-8'); * meta tag: <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8"/> * all files are saved with UTF-8 encoding with DreamWeaver CS3 * the same font is used in all the browsers. On that page nothing comes from the db, everything is hard coded. The site has the same behavior on my localhost too. So why only FF gets it right and how can I make it work on IE also?

  • Poorly rendered text (NSFont) in MacRuby/Cocoa. Any advice?

    I have a small MacRuby app that displays some text inside a NSTextView. I have a method called make_label() that builds an NSTextView with some text and returns it, which I use to add to another NSView via addSubview() make_label() looks like this: def make_label( x, y, width, height, color, font_size, text ) label = NSTextView.alloc.initWithFrame( NSMakeRect( x, y, width, height) ) font = NSFont.systemFontOfSize(font_size) label.setFont( font ) label.insertText( text ) label.setTextColor( color ) label.setDrawsBackground(false) label.setRichText(true) label.setEditable(false) label.setSelectable(false) label end My question is, how come my text looks so poorly rendered?     I am coding an external Javascript slideshow file, which i want to load and display on my HTML/CSS webpage. How do i go about doing that? I understand that i need to load the .js file in the header of the HTML, but what do i call inside the body's DIV that will make the javascript file understand that i want it to load at that area? I'm extremely confused with working with Javascript here. If anyone has any helpful links to implementing a complete slideshow on a webpage it would be appreciated as well.

    i am working with android webview and inside webview i am displaying the webpage which is having css,Javascript so i want that whenever i will select the checkbox and try to zoom the page so it should wrap otherwise it should not. So for that i tried to set the property of css - w.loadUrl("javascript:(function() {" + "document.getElementByTagName('html')[0].style.whiteSpace='nowrap';})"); but i am changing these properties by programming so it is not affecting the text content so please tell me how can i make the webpage text as wrapped if the checkbox is selected and it should not wrap if the checkbox is not selected,so please provide me any suggestion??     Hey Guys, I have made one project in java. Now in this particular module, i am showing the user , so i am showing them a stock inventory. Now for doing this. As you will see in the screen shot [ i have put screenshot so you can understand well ]. To show the images , i have made one table and i have put labels in that and then i am setting the icon at the label. Now as soon as user click on the any image, then that image i put on big label. But this works perfect on mouse click but client want that , if user navigate the by keyboard arrow keys then in same should be happen. Means : User navigate by key board then it should reflect on that table [user should know that which is currently seleted ] and then as soon as the user navigate by key board arrow events and then click enter then that image should reflect on big label. Each webpage does not lose the contents and data while moving between pages, postbacks, etc. Here is the website design and my idea: [Master Page] "Fruits" "Cars" "Animals" "Operators" clicking on "Fruits" will forwards to "Fruits" page, and the same for other links (tabs) The user works on "Fruits" page searching fruits, fill up some fields, etc. The user then moves to "Cars" page and then builds up his own car by filling some fields, etc and then the user goes back to "Fruits" page again - the user sees the same page where she/he left on "Fruits" page. Please suggest some good ways other than using javascript:history.go(-1). Is this possible to implement?

Then I saw this post where the op seems to be using apache log to monitor webpage load events in his webview. Enhance webView performance (should be the same performance as native Web Browser) Can I get a similar utility plugin or anything so that I can use it with logcat in ddms view. If possible please provide some resource as to how to configure it for android.

And was able to perform the rotation using TrackballDecorator 3D Tools library.   • How do I remove duplicate SQL Server 2008 instances after upgrading from SQL Server 2005?

    I've just upgraded an existing SQL Server 2005 to 2008 by running the installer (not the platform installer). It all seems to have worked - there were no errors reported and my code that connects to these databases still works fine. The problem is, when I try installing SQL Server Management Studio Express 2008 I am shown then following error message when I select to add new features to an existing instance of SQL Server 2008: The SQL Server instance 'SQL1MINUS102' already has an Instance ID '2' that is different than the specified Instance ID 'SQL1MINUS102'. Specifying more than one instance ID for the same SQL Server instance is not supported. Here is a screenshot of the installation dialog and the setup discovery report: Screenshot Notice that there are two instances with the same name. So any ideas how I should recifiy this so that I can install Management studio? Thanks in advance

EDIT1: The webpage contains: <div id="lesson"> <a href="/subj1">Subject 1</a> ... </div> On click, a browser (i.e. Firefox and Opera) should make an ajax-request of /ajax/subj1.

    I recently took on a project to build a webpage. I am an experienced developer but never worked with coding a psd file into a webpage. Now, the psd file uses a specific font, which I do not have probably, as I can see it in grey and [ ] at the bottom of the fonts list. Sorry for the naive question, but what am I supposed to do from the client's point of view? Should I have that font? Should I buy it? Can I extract it from the psd file? And then, does it come into the web-page as @font-face? Thanks for any suggestion
