• Problem with RecordMyDesktop program

  I am trying to record some tutorials using RecordMyDesktop application. The problem is the video becomes jagged and unusable as you can see from the screenshot I have taken while playing a saved video. I don't know what can be the problem, but I guess it has something to do with my graphics driver. My laptop is using Intel HD 3000 series and I couldn't find any update for it. If you know what might be the problem and how to solve it I will really appreciate it!

• Chrome UI styles are not working under Ubuntu! GTK Theme is not working!

When I open chrome, normally the search box, alert windows are styled according to my current system GTK theme. But now they look like classic windows theme! • How can I create an SPF record on my 1and1.com hosted domain?

  Emails from my domain (hosted at 1and1, and using Google Apps Premier edition) have sporadically been going to recipients' spam folders lately. I did some research, tested, and found out that I do not have an SPF record for my domain. According to this Google Support page, I need to create one. Following the steps on that page is easy, until I get to #3: Create a TXT record containing this text: v=spf1 include:_spf.google.com ~all I see no way to create a "TXT record". • update manager - insufficient storage space (false alarm)

  I'm trying to run Update Manager but it keeps reporting that there's not enough space. Here's the screenshot: I ran sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade from the terminal but still update manager says that there are updates and I cannot seem to get pass this message. I have even removed many programs from my system and there is supposed to be at least 6GB of disk space free. What can I do?

• Evince 3.10 with menubar

  I find that the 2 buttoms menu from the evince v3.10.0 are not really useful. Why did ubuntu NOT re add an menubar?. It would have been looking better in unity ! The unity top panel has enough space for an normal program menu. Here is an screenshot of what i mean: (The program works already in ubuntu 13.10 with unity or cinnamon fine. Some little compiler warnings but nothing more) Example in Cinnamon or in unity

• Yahoo media player not working with Ruby on rails

  I have a yahoo media player embedded in my webpage. I am currently using Ruby on Rails to create/edit my web page. When i click the play button next to a track the YMP waits a while and then goes to the next track without playing the first one. I then get a warning on my second (last) track that its file could not be found. Does anyone has a better recommendation for an audio player or a way to fix this one?

• Are forks are treated differently by GitHub?

  I found that GitHub does not allow you to use the "search" feature on forks (issues are still searchable, just not code). [screenshot] Are there any other cases where forks are treated as "inferior" or at least differently by GitHub? For instance, (assuming you haven't created a website specific to your fork), will forks still show up in Google search results, or will GitHub only provide results for the parent repository?

• How to resize a LVM partition?

  I want to shrink my second (lvm) partition, so I can create a new partition in the freespace. I am using Live-CD to do so, because I know I can't resize/move this partition while it is in use. When I opened GParted in Live-CD, I realized that I could not resize the partition, because when I right-click it, the option "resize/move" is disabled. I tried to unmount it, to "lazy" unmount it (umount -l /dev/sda2) but it didn't work. A screenshot from GParted:

• Building package from binary files - what's wrong with my control file

  I'm busy trying to build a .deb package from the binaries of my application (non open source) and I'm having trouble getting the correct info to display in the Ubuntu Software Centre (when you click on the .deb file). Please see screenshot below of control file and Software Centre View. It seems like the package name and the package description is swapped. I'm expecting the part in bold to read "attix5pro" and not "Cloud backup agent". Can someone show my my mistake or guide me?

• Weird graphical issues with Gnome Shell in 12.10

  I finally got Gnome Shell working on Ubuntu 12.10, but there are some weird graphical issues. It seems as if the text is corrupted or something. • Custom wallpapers under "Appearance" are dissapearing [12.04]

  When I add wallpapers via the little "+" under "Appearance Look" in the settings, I can select them and it works fine. But when I reopen the Appearance setting and want to change my wallpaper, the custom ones are gone. Why is this? Below is a screenshot of the empty custom wallpaper section.   I'm trying to add some javascript triggered Google Analytics events to a website that is already working with GA. I've included the following beneath the standard GA script (new ga.js script). _gaq.push(['_trackEvent', 'Downloads', 'Extension']); Which seems to be working ok, but the results listed in the Events Overview report (after waiting 24 hours), don't make sense.
