  • Cannot decode complete cipher list in .NET SslStream handshake.

    - by karmasponge
    While attempting to move from a 'C' based SSL implementation to C# using the .NET SslStream and we have run into what look like cipher compatibility issues with the .NET SslStream and a AS400 machine we are trying to connect to (which worked previously). When we call SslStream.AuthenticateAsClient it is sending the following: 16 03 00 00 37 01 00 00 33 03 00 4d 2c 00 ee 99 4e 0c 5d 83 14 77 78 5c 0f d3 8f 8b d5 e6 b8 cd 61 0f 29 08 ab 75 03 f7 fa 7d 70 00 00 0c 00 05 00 0a 00 13 00 04 00 02 00 ff 01 00 Which decodes as (based on http://www.mozilla.org/projects/security/pki/nss/ssl/draft302.txt) [16] Record Type [03 00] SSL Version [00 37] Body length [01] SSL3_MT_CLIENT_HELLO [00 00 33] Length (51 bytes) [03 00] Version number = 768 [4d 2c 00 ee] 4 Bytes unix time [… ] 28 Bytes random number [00] Session number [00 0c] 12 bytes (2 * 6 Cyphers)? [00 05, 00 0a, 00 13, 00 04, 00 02, 00 ff] - [RC4, PBE-MD5-DES, RSA, MD5, PKCS, ???] [01 00] Null compression method The as400 server responds back with: 15 03 00 00 02 02 28 [15] SSL3_RT_ALERT [03 00] SSL Version [00 02] Body Length (2 Bytes) [02 28] 2 = SSL3_RT_FATAL, 40 = SSL3_AD_HANDSHAKE_FAILURE I'm specifically looking to decode the '00 FF' at the end of the cyphers. Have I decoded it correctly? What does, if anything, '00 FF' decode too? I am using the following code to test/reproduce: using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Linq; using System.Text; using System.Net.Sockets; using System.Net.Security; using System.Security.Authentication; using System.IO; using System.Diagnostics; using System.Security.Cryptography.X509Certificates; namespace TestSslStreamApp { class DebugStream : Stream { private Stream AggregatedStream { get; set; } public DebugStream(Stream stream) { AggregatedStream = stream; } public override bool CanRead { get { return AggregatedStream.CanRead; } } public override bool CanSeek { get { return AggregatedStream.CanSeek; } } public override bool CanWrite { get { return AggregatedStream.CanWrite; } } public override void Flush() { AggregatedStream.Flush(); } public override long Length { get { return AggregatedStream.Length; } } public override long Position { get { return AggregatedStream.Position; } set { AggregatedStream.Position = value; } } public override int Read(byte[] buffer, int offset, int count) { int bytesRead = AggregatedStream.Read(buffer, offset, count); return bytesRead; } public override long Seek(long offset, SeekOrigin origin) { return AggregatedStream.Seek(offset, origin); } public override void SetLength(long value) { AggregatedStream.SetLength(value); } public override void Write(byte[] buffer, int offset, int count) { AggregatedStream.Write(buffer, offset, count); } } class Program { static void Main(string[] args) { const string HostName = "as400"; TcpClient tcpClient = new TcpClient(HostName, 992); SslStream sslStream = new SslStream(new DebugStream(tcpClient.GetStream()), false, null, null, EncryptionPolicy.AllowNoEncryption); sslStream.AuthenticateAsClient(HostName, null, SslProtocols.Ssl3, false); } } }

  • Why is my PE file invalid?

    - by Pindatjuh
I already asked a similar question, "PE Header requirements", but I'm not really satisfied with it's answer. I am building an assembler/linker, in Java SE 1.6. I have read about 5 different documentations/specifications about the PE/COFF header and file format, but I'm stuck at a problem: My generated file is not valid, says Windows: "X is not a valid Win32 application." I'm clueless of what can be wrong; I have double-checked every entry in the PE Header and PE Optional Header, and all seems to be right. I've got four sections: code (RVA 0x1000, File 0x400) data (RVA 0x2000, File 0x600) import (RVA 0x3000, File 0x800) reloc (RVA 0x4000, File 0xA00) My entrypoint value is at 0x1000 (the beginning of code) and my imagebase is 0x400000. Section alignment is 0x1000 and file alignment is 0x200. Here is the file (3 kb): 4D 5A 6C 00 01 00 00 00 04 00 11 00 FF FF 03 00 00 01 00 00 00 00 00 00 40 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 hex-editor (HxD). I got a lot of different error messages, not the "X is not a valid Win32 application.": I'm aware that my code content is not "valid" code, but I've tested it out: invalid code gives an Application Crash error. If the import-section content is invalid in the "Hello World" PE file, it gives me the error "Procedure point cannot be found in [...]", or "Application has failed to start because [..] dll is not found.", or an Application Crash. These errors are all very useful; they all give me some clue what was wrong. But my PE file, with the error "X is not a valid Win32 application.", drives me insane: What is wrong with my PE file?

  • Grub 'Read Error' - Only Loads with LiveCD

    - by Ryan Sharp
Problem After installing Ubuntu to complete my Windows 7/Ubuntu 12.04 dual-boot setup, Grub just wouldn't load at all unless I boot from the LiveCD. Afterwards, everything works completely normal. However, this workaround isn't a solution and I'd like to be able to boot without the aid of a disc. Fdisk -l Using the fdisk -l command, I am given the following: Disk /dev/sda: 64.0 GB, 64023257088 bytes 255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 7783 cylinders, total 125045424 sectors Units = sectors of 1 * 512 = 512 bytes Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 512 bytes I/O size (minimum/optimal): 512 bytes / 512 bytes Disk identifier: 0x324971d1 Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System /dev/sda1 2048 206847 102400 7 HPFS/NTFS/exFAT /dev/sda2 208896 48957439 24374272 7 HPFS/NTFS/exFAT /dev/sda3 * 48959486 124067839 37554177 5 Extended /dev/sda5 48959488 124067839 37554176 83 Linux Disk /dev/sdb: 1000.2 GB, 1000204886016 bytes 255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 121601 cylinders, total 1953525168 sectors Units = sectors of 1 * 512 = 512 bytes Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 512 bytes I/O size (minimum/optimal): 512 bytes / 512 bytes Disk identifier: 0xc0ee6a69 Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System /dev/sdb1 1024208894 1953523711 464657409 5 Extended /dev/sdb3 * 2048 1024206847 512102400 7 HPFS/NTFS/exFAT /dev/sdb5 1024208896 1937897471 456844288 83 Linux /dev/sdb6 1937899520 1953523711 7812096 82 Linux swap / Solaris Partition table entries are not in disk order Disk /dev/sdc: 320.1 GB, 320072933376 bytes 255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 38913 cylinders, total 625142448 sectors Units = sectors of 1 * 512 = 512 bytes Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 512 bytes I/O size (minimum/optimal): 512 bytes / 512 bytes Disk identifier: 0x292eee23 Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System /dev/sdc1 2048 625141759 312569856 7 HPFS/NTFS/exFAT Bootinfoscript I've used the BootInfoScript, and received the following output: Boot Info Script 0.61 [1 April 2012] ============================= Boot Info Summary: =============================== => Grub2 (v1.99) is installed in the MBR of /dev/sda and looks at sector 1 of the same hard drive for core.img. core.img is at this location and looks for (,msdos5)/boot/grub on this drive. => Grub2 (v1.99) is installed in the MBR of /dev/sdb and looks at sector 1 of the same hard drive for core.img. core.img is at this location and looks for (,msdos5)/boot/grub on this drive. => Windows is installed in the MBR of /dev/sdc. sda1: __________________________________________________________________________ File system: ntfs Boot sector type: Windows Vista/7: NTFS Boot sector info: No errors found in the Boot Parameter Block. My only hopes are that I can solve this, and that doing so won't require re-installation of Grub due to how complicated the procedures are, or that I would be needed to reinstall the OS', as I have done so about six times already since friday due to several other issues I've encountered. Thank you, and good day. System Ubuntu 12.04 64-bit / Windows 7 SP1 64-bit 64GB SSD as boot/OS drive, 1TB HDD as /Home Swap and Steam drive.

  • Wireless Connected But No Internet Connection (Ubuntu 12.04)

    - by Zxy
I am using same network for 2 days and everything was normal. However, today even though it shows me as connected to the network, I do not have internet connection. If I use ethernet cable instead of wireless, I am still able to connect to the internet. Also my friends are able to connect to the wireless network and they can get internet connection. I did not update or install anything since yesterday. Therefore I do not have any idea why it is happening. Here is some information about my connection: I will be appreciate to any kind of help. root@ghostrider:/etc/resolvconf# ping 127.0.0.1 PING 127.0.0.1 (127.0.0.1) 56(84) bytes of data. 64 bytes from 127.0.0.1: icmp_req=1 ttl=64 time=0.042 ms 64 bytes from 127.0.0.1: icmp_req=2 ttl=64 time=0.023 ms 64 bytes from 127.0.0.1: icmp_req=3 ttl=64 time=0.036 ms 64 bytes from 127.0.0.1: icmp_req=4 ttl=64 time=0.040 ms ^C --- 127.0.0.1 ping statistics --- 4 packets transmitted, 4 received, 0% packet loss, time 2998ms rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 0.023/0.035/0.042/0.008 ms root@ghostrider:/etc/resolvconf# ping 192.168.1.3 PING 192.168.1.3 (192.168.1.3) 56(84) bytes of data. ^C --- 192.168.1.3 ping statistics --- 19 packets transmitted, 0 received, 100% packet loss, time 18143ms root@ghostrider:/etc/resolvconf# ping 8.8.8.8 PING 8.8.8.8 (8.8.8.8) 56(84) bytes of data. ^C --- 8.8.8.8 ping statistics --- 11 packets transmitted, 0 received, 100% packet loss, time 10079ms root@ghostrider:/etc/resolvconf# cat /etc/lsb-release; uname -a DISTRIB_ID=Ubuntu DISTRIB_RELEASE=12.04 DISTRIB_CODENAME=precise DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION="Ubuntu 12.04 LTS" Linux ghostrider 3.2.0-24-generic-pae #39-Ubuntu SMP Mon May 21 18:54:21 UTC 2012 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux root@ghostrider:/etc/resolvconf# lspci -nnk | grep -iA2 net 03:00.0 Ethernet controller [0200]: Atheros Communications Inc. • Root certificate authority works windows/linux but not mac osx - (malformed)

    - by AKwhat
I have created a self-signed root certificate authority which if I install onto windows, linux, or even using the certificate store in firefox (windows/linux/macosx) will work perfectly with my terminating proxy. I have installed it into the system keychain and I have set the certificate to always trust. Within the chrome browser details it says "The certificate that Chrome received during this connection attempt is not formatted correctly, so Chrome cannot use it to protect your information. Error type: Malformed certificate" I used this code to create the certificate: openssl genrsa -des3 -passout pass:***** -out private/server.key 4096 openssl req -batch -passin pass:***** -new -x509 -nodes -sha1 -days 3600 -key private/server.key -out server.crt -config ../openssl.cnf If the issue is NOT that it is malformed (because it works everywhere else) then what else could it be? Am I installing it incorrectly? To be clear: Within the windows/linux OS, all browsers work perfectly. Within mac only firefox works if it uses its internal certificate store and not the keychain. It's the keychain method of importing a certificate that causes the issue. Thus, all browsers using the keychain will not work. The only date/time function I can find is Now() and searches relative to that, i.e. "-1d", "-4d" etc. The only problem with this is that Now() is time specific so there is no way of getting a particular day's created issues. i.e. Created < Now() AND Created >= "-1d" when run at 2pm today will show all issues created from 2pm yesterday to 2pm today when run at 9am tomorrow will show all issues created from 9am today to 9am tomorrow What I want is to be able to search for all issues created from 00:00 to 23:59 on any day. Is this possible?

  • Optimizing for speed - 4 dimensional array lookup in C

    - by Tiago
I have a fitness function that is scoring the values on an int array based on data that lies on a 4D array. The profiler says this function is using 80% of CPU time (it needs to be called several million times). I can't seem to optimize it further (if it's even possible). Here is the function: unsigned int lookup_array[26][26][26][26]; /* lookup_array is a global variable */ unsigned int get_i_score(unsigned int *input) { register unsigned int i, score = 0; for(i = len - 3; i--; ) score += lookup_array[input[i]][input[i + 1]][input[i + 2]][input[i + 3]]; return(score) } I've tried to flatten the array to a single dimension but there was no improvement in performance. This is running on an IA32 CPU. Any CPU specific optimizations are also helpful. Thanks

  • 3ds collada UV mapping problem in Papervision

    - by MonsieurOreilles
Hi everyone, as I briefly explained in the title, my prblem concerns texturing a collada export in papervision. Basically I was exporting collada models from Cinema 4d with its uv map. I was able to see everything, but the texture was not displaying properly (hidden polygons). So I decided to try with 3dsMax. I used the same code to display the texture : var materials:MaterialsList = new MaterialsList(); var torusMaterial:BitmapFileMaterial = new BitmapFileMaterial("model/tex.png"); torusMaterial.precise = true; materials.addMaterial(torusMaterial, "ID1"); Again, I can see every elements, but this time my model uses only one pixel of my texture. So if I use a red texture and if I color only the pixel at the left bottom corner in green, all my model will be green. Any advice about how to properly wrap the texture around a 3ds export model ? Thank you.

  • Ubuntu missing from the Grub menu

    - by varevarao
Recently I've had some audio issues with Ubuntu (using precise), and in the process of trying to resolve that I ran a dist-upgrade. Everything went just fine, and the sound seemed good, until I rebooted my machine for the first time since the dist-upgrade. All I see now in the Grub menu at startup is memtest86+, another memtest variant, and Windows 7. It's not showing any of the linux kernels that Ubuntu is running on. • Wireless Broadcom 4313 not working on Ubuntu 12.04

    - by user88568
It seems a lot of people are having this problem, but none of the posted solutions have worked for me so far. My driver is installed and activated, I have tried removing and re-adding the network, and various other fixes. No networks were picked up on my first boot, the next day wireless worked fine, and since then it does not detect networks, and when I manually try to connect, it repeatedly asks for the password and does not connect. • Toshiba wireless is blocked

    - by zorrillo
I have the same problem, a 32 bits toshiba nb255, it first had the windows 7 bu next I installed the ubuntu 11.04. The wifi does not turn on. I used the following issues the commands rfkill unblock wlan0, sudo ifconfig wlan0 down; they were not able. by setting up the bios in advanced menu, the wireless communication sw in ON, but it did not work also. neither the utilities toshiba nor utilities of ubuntu (wicd, wifi radar). by using gedit to file group, nothing. by installing madwifi packet, nothing. by exporting the wifi driver from windows to ubuntu, by means of the NDISwrapper packet, neither. I put the current scripts of the ouput of the cli root@zorrillo:~# rfkill list 0: phy0: Wireless LAN Soft blocked: no Hard blocked: yes root@zorrillo:~# sudo lspci | grep Atheros 07:00.0 Network controller: Atheros Communications Inc. Toshiba does not supply drivers or soft support for linux, marketing of course. I only see the device is up by protocols and down phisically, My question is, is it possible to enable or not shutdown physically the device?, because in the toshiba model nb255 the wifi is not set up/down bye means of a physical switch, but by means a combination of Fn + F8 (only for windows 7, no one more), Is there one possibility to configure the hot keys in ubuntu?

  • What is the difference between the Linux and Linux LVM partition type?

    - by ujjain
Fdisk shows multiple partition types. What is the difference between choosing 83) Linux and 8e) Linux LVM? Choosing 83) Linux also works fine for using LVM, even creating a physical volume on /dev/sdb without a partition table works. Does picking a partition type in fdisk really matter? • ffmpeg: video file played OK on Ubuntu, but no sound on XP

    - by Andy Le
I created a video clip using ffmpeg (vcodec: mpeg2video, acodec: AC3 5.1). The file can be played normally on Ubuntu, but when I play it on an XP machine, there is no sound. I can play AC3 files and other movies with AC3 sound. I already tried many codec packs and many players. When I compare the MediaInfo tab of the Properties window of the file with another playable movie, I see that the Audio Identifier of the audio stream in my file is 0x80 while it is 0x02 in the other movie. So I guess that's why players on XP can't recognize the audio codec. When I use an MKV container instead of MPEG (still mpeg2video codec), then the result is OK on both Ubuntu and XP (with the correct Audio ID). I really need MPEG though. Any idea? This is the command I used: ~/ffmpeg/ffmpeg/ffmpeg -loop_input \ -t 97 -r 30000/1001 -i v%4d.tga -i final.ac3 \ -vcodec mpeg2video -qscale 1 -s 400x400 -r 30000/1001 \ -acodec copy -y out6.mpeg 2 This is the output of mediainfo (on Ubuntu): General Complete name : out6.mpeg Format : MPEG-PS File size : 6.86 MiB Duration : 1mn 37s Overall bit rate : 593 Kbps Video ID : 224 (0xE0) Format : MPEG Video Format version : Version 2 Format profile : Main@Main Format settings, BVOP : No Format settings, Matrix : Default Format_Settings_GOP : M=1, N=12 Duration : 1mn 37s Bit rate mode : Variable Bit rate : 122 Kbps Width : 400 pixels Height : 400 pixels Display aspect ratio : 1.000 Frame rate : 29.970 fps Resolution : 8 bits Colorimetry : 4:2:0 Scan type : Progressive Bits/(Pixel*Frame) : 0.025 Stream size : 1.41 MiB (21%) Audio ID : 128 (0x80) Format : AC-3 Format/Info : Audio Coding 3 Duration : 1mn 36s Bit rate mode : Constant Bit rate : 448 Kbps Channel(s) : 6 channels Channel positions : Front: L C R, Side: L R, LFE Sampling rate : 44.1 KHz Stream size : 5.18 MiB (75%)

I was using the default network manager to connect to my wi-fi network, but if the connection is dropped or router restarted the network manager wont reconnect automatically after i guess a couple of tries and just gives a pop-up to connect manually . To avoid this annoyance I installed WICD but though it does try to reconnect to the network after a drop in connection it is unable to resolve the ip address and i am left with an even bigger annoyance . 1. Is there a way to counter either of these issues ? 2. Something like a background process that will check network status periodically and then try to connect to a favored network ? Edit- out put of lshw -C network *-network description: Wireless interface product: Broadcom Corporation vendor: Broadcom Corporation physical id: 0 bus info: pci@0000:12:00.0 logical name: eth1 version: 01 serial: c0:cb:38:18:9b:7f width: 64 bits clock: 33MHz capabilities: pm msi pciexpress bus_master cap_list ethernet physical wireless configuration: broadcast=yes driver=wl0 driverversion=5.60.48.36 ip=192.168.11.2 latency=0 multicast=yes wireless=IEEE 802.11 resources: irq:17 memory:fbc00000-fbc03fff *-network description: Ethernet interface product: RTL8101E/RTL8102E PCI Express Fast Ethernet controller vendor: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. physical id: 0 bus info: pci@0000:13:00.0 logical name: eth0 version: 02 serial: f0:4d:a2:94:2d:74 size: 10MB/s capacity: 100MB/s width: 64 bits clock: 33MHz capabilities: pm msi pciexpress msix vpd bus_master cap_list rom ethernet physical tp mii 10bt 10bt-fd 100bt 100bt-fd autonegotiation configuration: autonegotiation=on broadcast=yes driver=r8169 driverversion=2.3LK-NAPI duplex=half latency=0 link=no multicast=yes port=MII speed=10MB/s resources: irq:29 ioport:e000(size=256) memory:d0b10000-d0b10fff(prefetchable) memory:d0b00000-d0b0ffff(prefetchable) memory:fb200000-fb21ffff(prefetchable)

  • How to deal with ssh's "WARNING: REMOTE HOST IDENTIFICATION HAS CHANGED!"?

    - by Vi.
I often need to login to multiple remote stations that are just placed to the same static IPs for me. SSH complains about changed keys in this case: $ ssh [email protected] @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ @ WARNING: REMOTE HOST IDENTIFICATION HAS CHANGED! @ @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ ... Offending RSA key in /home/vi/.ssh/known_hosts:70 ... I usually just run vim /home/vi/.ssh/known_hosts +70, dd wq and re-run the SSH command. How to do it simpler? Requirements: The warning should be displayed, and not like this: The authenticity of host '172.1.2.3 (172.1.2.3)' can't be established. It is easy to accept the key change. I expect something like this: $ ssh [email protected] @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ @ WARNING: REMOTE HOST IDENTIFICATION HAS CHANGED! @ @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ ... The fingerprint for the RSA key sent by the remote host is 82:cd:be:7a:ae:1b:91:2c:23:c1:74:4d:8a:38:10:32. Change the host key in /home/vi/.ssh/known_hosts (yes/no)? yes Warning: Changed host key for '172.1.2.3' (RSA) in the list of known hosts. [email protected]'s password: Simple and differs from usual "The authenticity of host can't be established." message.

  • Why my shell program wont open the file got as argument in function "cat"

    - by anna karenina
    I included the code below, sorry to bother you with so much code. Argument parsing is ok, i checked it out with watches. I've put some printfs to check out where the problem may be and it seems that it wont open the file cat receives as argument. i called from shell like "cat -b file" #include <stdio.h> #include <stdlib.h> #include <unistd.h> #include <string.h> #define TRUE 0 #define FALSE 1 void yes(int argc, char *argv[]); int cat(int argc, char *argv[]); //#include "cat.h" //#include "yes.h" //#include"tee.h" char buf[50],c[10], *p2,*p, *pch; int count; char *matrix[20]; void yes(int argc, char *argv[]) { int i; // if (argc >= 2 && *argv[1] == '-') // { //printf("ERROR!"); //} //if (argc == 1) // { while (1) if (puts("y") == EOF) { perror("yes"); exit(FALSE); } // } while (1) for (i = 1; i < argc; i++) if (fputs(argv[i], stdout) == EOF || putchar(i == argc - 1 ? '\n' : ' ') == EOF) { perror("yes"); exit(FALSE); } //exit(TRUE); } int main(int argc, char *argv[]) { //p=(char *)malloc(sizeof(char)*50); do { fprintf (stderr, "$ "); fgets (buf,50,stdin); p=buf; fprintf (stderr, "Comanda primita de la tastatura: "); fputs (buf, stderr); int i=0,j=0; //strcpy(p,buf); strcpy(c,"\0"); while (buf[i] == ' ') { i++; p++; } if (buf[i] == '#') fprintf (stderr, "Nici o comanda, ci e un comentariu!\n"); else { j=0; while (buf[i] != ' ' && buf[i] != '\n') { i++; j++; } strncpy (c,p,j); fprintf (stderr, "%s\n",c); if (strcmp (c,"yes") == 0) { p2 = p+j+1; pch = strtok (p2," "); count = 0; while (pch != NULL) { //printf ("%s\n",pch); matrix[count] = strdup(pch); pch = strtok (NULL, " "); count++; } yes(count, matrix); fprintf (stderr, "Aici se va executa comanda yes\n"); } else if (strcmp (c,"cat") == 0) { p2 = p+j+1; pch = strtok (p2," "); count = 0; while (pch != NULL) { //printf ("%s\n",pch); matrix[count] = strdup(pch); pch = strtok (NULL, " "); count++; } cat(count,matrix); fprintf (stderr, "Aici se va executa comanda cat \n"); } else if (strcmp (c,"tee") == 0) { //tee(); fprintf(stderr, "Aici se va executa comanda tee\n"); } fprintf (stderr, "Aici se va executa comanda basename\n"); strcpy(buf,"\0"); } } while (strcmp(c, "exit") != 0); fprintf (stderr, "Terminat corect!\n"); return 0; } int cat(int argc, char *argv[]) { int c ; opterr = 0 ; optind = 0 ; char number = 0; char squeeze = 0; char marker = 0; fprintf(stderr,"SALUT< SUNT IN FUNCTIZE>\n"); while ((c = getopt (argc, argv, "bnsE")) != -1) switch (c) { case 'b' : number = 1; break; case 'n' : number = 2; break; case 'm' : marker = 1; break; case 's' : squeeze = 1; break; case 'E' : marker = 1; break; } if (optind + 1 != argc) { fprintf (stderr, "\tWrong arguments!\n") ; return -1 ; } FILE * fd = fopen (argv[optind], "r"); printf("am deschis fisierul %s ",argv[optind]); if (fd == NULL) { printf("FISIER NULL asdasdasdasdasd"); return 1; } char line[1025]; int line_count = 1; while (!feof(fd)) { fgets(line, 1025, fd); printf("sunt in while :> %s",line); int len = strlen(line); if (line[len - 1] == '\n') { if(len - 2 >= 0) { if(line[len - 2] == '\r') { line[len - 2] = '\0'; len -= 2; } else { line[len - 1] = '\0'; len -= 1; } } else { line[len - 1] = '\0'; len -= 1; } } if (squeeze == 1 && len == 0) continue; if (number == 1) { fprintf (stdout, "%4d ", line_count); line_count++; } else if (number == 2) { if (len > 0) { fprintf (stdout, "%4d ", line_count); line_count++; } else fprintf (stdout, " "); } fprintf(stdout, "%s", line); if (marker == 1) fprintf(stdout, "$"); fprintf(stdout, "\n"); } fclose (fd); return 0 ; }

  • Problems implementing a screen space shadow ray tracing shader

    - by Grieverheart
Here I previously asked for the possibility of ray tracing shadows in screen space in a deferred shader. Several problems were pointed out. One of the most important problem is that only visible objects can cast shadows and objects between the camera and the shadow caster can interfere. Still I thought it'd be a fun experiment. The idea is to calculate the view coordinates of pixels and cast a ray to the light. The ray is then traced pixel by pixel to the light and its depth is compared with the depth at the pixel. If a pixel is in front of the ray, a shadow is casted at the original pixel. At first I thought that I could use the DDA algorithm in 2D to calculate the distance 't' (in p = o + t d, where o origin, d direction) to the next pixel and use it in the 3D ray equation to find the ray's z coordinate at that pixel's position. For the 2D ray, I would use the projected and biased 3D ray direction and origin. The idea was that 't' would be the same in both 2D and 3D equations. Unfortunately, this is not the case since the projection matrix is 4D. Thus, some tweak needs to be done to make this work this way. I would like to ask if someone knows of a way to do what I described above, i.e. from a 2D ray in texture coordinate space to get the 3D ray in screen space. I did implement a simple version of the idea which you can see in the following video: video here Shadows may seem a bit pixelated, but that's mostly because of the size of the step in 't' I chose. And here is the shader: #version 330 core uniform sampler2D DepthMap; uniform vec2 projAB; uniform mat4 projectionMatrix; const vec3 light_p = vec3(-30.0, 30.0, -10.0); noperspective in vec2 pass_TexCoord; smooth in vec3 viewRay; layout(location = 0) out float out_AO; vec3 CalcPosition(void){ float depth = texture(DepthMap, pass_TexCoord).r; float linearDepth = projAB.y / (depth - projAB.x); vec3 ray = normalize(viewRay); ray = ray / ray.z; return linearDepth * ray; } void main(void){ vec3 origin = CalcPosition(); if(origin.z < -60) discard; vec2 pixOrigin = pass_TexCoord; //tex coords vec3 dir = normalize(light_p - origin); vec2 texel_size = vec2(1.0 / 600.0); float t = 0.1; ivec2 pixIndex = ivec2(pixOrigin / texel_size); out_AO = 1.0; while(true){ vec3 ray = origin + t * dir; vec4 temp = projectionMatrix * vec4(ray, 1.0); vec2 texCoord = (temp.xy / temp.w) * 0.5 + 0.5; ivec2 newIndex = ivec2(texCoord / texel_size); if(newIndex != pixIndex){ float depth = texture(DepthMap, texCoord).r; float linearDepth = projAB.y / (depth - projAB.x); if(linearDepth > ray.z + 0.1){ out_AO = 0.2; break; } pixIndex = newIndex; } t += 0.5; if(texCoord.x < 0 || texCoord.x > 1.0 || texCoord.y < 0 || texCoord.y > 1.0) break; } } As you can see, here I just increment 't' by some arbitrary factor, calculate the 3D ray and project it to get the pixel coordinates, which is not really optimal. Hopefully, I would like to optimize the code as much as possible and compare it with shadow mapping and how it scales with the number of lights. PS: Keep in mind that I reconstruct position from depth by interpolating rays through a full screen quad.

  • How to perform spatial partitioning in n-dimensions?

    - by kevin42
I'm trying to design an implementation of Vector Quantization as a c++ template class that can handle different types and dimensions of vectors (e.g. 16 dimension vectors of bytes, or 4d vectors of doubles, etc). I've been reading up on the algorithms, and I understand most of it: here and here I want to implement the Linde-Buzo-Gray (LBG) Algorithm, but I'm having difficulty figuring out the general algorithm for partitioning the clusters. I think I need to define a plane (hyperplane?) that splits the vectors in a cluster so there is an equal number on each side of the plane. [edit to add more info] This is an iterative process, but I think I start by finding the centroid of all the vectors, then use that centroid to define the splitting plane, get the centroid of each of the sides of the plane, continuing until I have the number of clusters needed for the VQ algorithm (iterating to optimize for less distortion along the way). The animation in the first link above shows it nicely. My questions are: What is an algorithm to find the plane once I have the centroid? How can I test a vector to see if it is on either side of that plane?
