  • Automatic Edit Photoshop Canvas Dimensions in Bulk

    On a website that I maintain I am required to edit hundreds of images to have a certain canvas size. The images come in all different shapes and sizes. I am trying to figure out a way to automatically edit them so that I dont have to write ineffective AHK scripts to do it. Is there a feature inside of Photoshop (cs3) to do this?   • Photoshop CS4 path problem

    hi, i'm having a strange problem with photoshop: i'm creating a new layer then use the path tool for drawing something. the new path will then only show up under "paths" but the current layer remains empty. shouldn't it show up there being labelled as "shape"? what i want is creating a path, apply layer styles to it and keep the possibilty to change that path with layer styles applied. seems like some setting was changed inside my cs4 thanks

  • Simulate Photoshop's saturation changes in Imagemagick

    In Photoshop you can adjust the hue, saturation and lightness of an image with three sliders. ImageMagick you can modulate the brightness, saturation, and hue. Minimizing the saturation correctly produces a black and white image in both programs. Maxing out the saturation appears close, but ImageMagick appears to soften some of the blown out edges while Photoshop will expose more the the compression artifacts. How can I accurately reproduce Photoshop's saturation changes from within ImageMagick, or other command line tool.

    I am a graphic designer (among other things) and I'm used to doing magazine advertisements, brochures, posters and that sort of thing. Recently I was approached by a photographer who wants a graphic designer to produce wedding albums for him. I have already done a couple for him but I'm finding it hard to work by just arranging my layouts in Photoshop alone. It's very time consuming, but quite repetitive - especially when you're dealing with common page layouts. I know a lot of photographers use album design software to speed up the process a bit. What's the industry standard in terms of album design software?

  • Photoshop - Turning white photo to dark photo

    I've taken the original photo and I was playing around in photoshop and got to amended photo. I was stupid enough to not to save the file in psd or remember how I've done it. However,I definitely remember I pressed Invert (command +I / Control +I) and my white photo turned to proportioned dark photo. Does anybody know how? It was very simple step.   • Automator won't change finder item names of photoshop automation exports

    I made a folder action that monitors a folder and changes the name of anything put in it. Then I automate a photoshop action that exports images to the folder. for some reason I have to move the images out of the folder and then back in for it to change. is there a way to have it change the images as they're saved there? is this a bug or am i doing something wrong? it works fine if i just move the images in and out of the folder. and sometimes it will change just a couple of them, which makes me think it's just because they're coming in so fast that it glitches.

  • Extracting the layer transparency into an editable layer mask in Photoshop

    Is there any simple way to extract the "baked in" transparency in a layer and turn it into a layer mask in Photoshop? To take a simple example: Let's say that I paint a few strokes with a semi-transparent brush, or paste in a .png-file with an alpha channel. The rgb color values and the alpha value for each pixel are now all contained in the layer-image itself. I would like to be able to edit the alpha values as a layer mask, so that the layer image is solid and contains only the RGB values for each pixel. Is this possible, and in that case how? Thanks. EDIT: To clarify - I'm not really after the transparency values in themselves, but in the separation of rgb values and alpha values. That means that the layer must become a solid, opaque image with a mask.

  • Performance Bottleneck with Photoshop CS3 on XPSP3

    I have an intel core 2 4400, with 4GB of ram running on XP 32-BIT SP3. Photoshop CS3 becomes sluggish & unresponsive even after loading up small files, and this is with only Bridge open as well, plus McAffee AV. My photos are loaded in from a USB 2 external drive, and my c: drive is used only for programs and windows itself. Even with 4GB of RAM, i am seeing the pagefile increase to 1.6GB, whilst there appears to be 1.5GB of RAM free to use. I've defragged the drive, with defraggler, and after that the only file reported to be fragmented was the pagefile itself. Anyone have any ideas what i can do to improve/solve this?

  • Creating a dynamically updateable website using Adobe Flash CS6 [closed]

    I need some help finding the appropriate tutorials for what I need. I have tried looking hard with no avail. I have Adobe Flash CS6, and I want to make a website using that software. I want the content to be uploaded onto a server so that the flash program can just fetch the information from the server and dynamically update the website itself, instead of editing the content on the flash website and reuploading the whole flash file (as I have done before). I also want the ability to have a guestbook and a contact form. Also, if possible, I wanted an ability to add tabs to the navigation bar dynamically instead of having to edit the flash file. Can anyone point be to a good tutorial which can help me with this? I have tried looking, and most of the results I get are completely useless to me.

MySymbol_design or assets.MySymbol_design), do not change the base class (ie. flash.display.MovieClip). Right now, I am stuck at that part. Any hints? What I wish to do is: Use fla for the artist to store assets. Publish to swc Extract the assets in FlashDevelop by creating an instance of their class. ... How is this done in CS6?   • -webkit-linear-gradient Not working in Dreamweaver CS6

    I've tried multiple times to apply the following piece of code in a CSS document: display: block; width: 500px; margin: 500px auto; padding: 15px; text-align: center; border: 4px solid blue; background: -webkit-linear-gradient(top,black,white); outline: 7px solid red; Everything appears correctly, except the gradient. I have CS6 Live View turned on, and it still refuses to appear. All I get in my box is a white background, as opposed to the black to white gradient. However, when I type the same line of code into the trial of Coda 2 I downloaded, it works perfectly. Is there anything I can do to resolve the issue?

    Is that possible to upload an image from Photoshop (for example, an open image exported to jpeg) to some web place - REST service, FTP etc by using scripting features of Photoshop? For example - I have an image open in Photoshop and then execute some special script that sends an exported version of it to some place over the web. I saw something like this but it uses an automatically generated batch file that executes ftp command on Windows. I would like to use something more beautiful if it's possible.     I'm doing a lot of website design and I'm looking for a feature that would allow me to set the main colors of website in variables and use the variables in color overlays and such. It would make changing the color scheme of site a lot easier and that would help previewing different possibilities. So, does such feature exists, or is there some kind of plugin for it? I'm using CS3 and I have CS4 available if it's required for this.

  • Photoshop / Illustrator Fill text box with large string.

    I have a massive string (lots of Fibonacci numbers concatenated together). I don't know how much of this text I need to fill an A4 page. What I was hoping for was to paste a large block into a text box and have it display as much as possible, wrapping the text at the end of a line, but it is not doing that. It is just displaying a blank box (With the text overflowing into an awaiting textbox or something. I have tried pasting smaller amounts of text into the text box, and it appears that it will get about half way and then go into 'blank' mode. All I need is a simple way of creating a background of numbers which I don't have to type in. Any ideas?
