    Hi! I set up a VPN on my server, everything seems okay but when I connect to it from Mac (didn't try windows) I can connect, I can send data and from the server I see that it receives it but it does not send any data back... Did you ever happened to see this? Thanks a lot!

    How do I check to see if port forward is enabled with one of my dynamic tunnels on this device? I'm having trouble using a feature in our software that requires a vpn to be used. My firewalls shows it as connected but I'm unable to ping the subnet ip. Our software vendor told me that port forwarding might be causing this problem, but I didn't set up this network I'm on and I don't fully know symantec hardware.

    I am trying to connect to a Barracuda VPN with a windows 7 machine. I am gettng this message before it fails: There are no TAP-Win32 adapters on this system. You should be able to create a TAP-Win32 adapter by going to Start - All Programs - Network Connector - Add a new TAP-Win32 virtual ethernet adapter. I am unable to follow these instructions on Windows 7, any ideas on how to create this adapter?

    I have a Debian VPS with an assigned static IP. I want to setup a virtual interface (with an ip like 192.168..) on my laptop (Ubuntu, dynamic IP) linked to the remote VPS, so that if I bind sockets to it the traffic is tunneled to the VPS and sent to the Internet from there. Port forwarding must be available. This looks like a job for a VPN software, but I'm clueless about the pieces of software needed. Any advice?

I had a look at OpenVPN and this seemed excellent, but was hoping that there would be a less costly option on a per-concurrent-user basis. I read a lot about OpenS/WAN+L2PT and OpenVPN but I am still confused how I should configure it. I would prefer IPSec+PPTP/L2PT since the road warrior doesn't have to install any extra software on iPhone/Windows7. Is there a good how-to for IPSec or what would you suggest?

    I've wrote a simple batch file to connect to a specific VPN connection using RASDIAL rasdial MyVPNConnection but it always returned the error 691 Access denied because username and/or password is invalid on the domain. Remote Access Service (RAS) Error Code List then i tried pointing to my Remote Access Phonebook (Rasphone.pbk) and see what happens rasdial MyVPNConnection /phonebook:%userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Network\Connections\Pbk\rasphone.pbk and still there was an error 691. I've then unchecked the following but still the same problem was reported when executing my batch file.

    I have an Ubuntu Virtualbox guest with two network interface, eth0 (NAT) and eth1 (bridged). I want to connect to a PPTP VPN using eth1, but I don't know how to specify which interface to use.     I have a server colocated on datacenter.CentOS operating system. They use KVM-ip when I need remote hands. Somoene told me that login using that will allow administrators (if they want) to get disk encryption password or ssh root pass via KVM-ip(is that true ?). Someone told me I can use VPN to login to my server instead of kvm over ip. Anyone have experience with that ? Is that option valid ? Thank you

  • Cant logon to domain over site-to-site vpn

    Tied together branch office with main office over two Cisco ASAs. The (internal) networks on either side can communicate with the other. I can ping, use the DC's DNS service and even join a domain on a new client. I can't however logon, I get the "domain controller is not available" error message on client. I find nothing peculiar in DC's event logs. Sicne it's site-to-site (with ping), it's always up so it should work. No firewall rules (except allow any any) between the two networks (of either side). Main site internal net: 10.10.10.0/24 Branch office net: 10.180.3.0/24 Am I overlooking something here? Where should I start investigating this?d
