• New Static Website with Hosted DNS alternating 502, 503 and Page Does Not Exist Errors

  This has become an increasingly frustrating ordeal. I'm mostly a web developer, so forgive me if I am using improper terminology here. I have a client that had purchased a domain at JustHost. We built him a website and have it on our own server space. Now, I'm mostly used to dealing with godaddy and it is simple enough to manage dns records and point the A record to our server IP, where Apache on our end deals with the domains via name-based virtual hosts. But for some reason, in setting this up with JustHost, when attempting to go to the domain name, I either get a 502 or 503 error or "webpage does not exist". Now, I know that the basic functionality of the webpage must be working because I can access the the index etc straight through my servers www data (IE [server-ip]/website_folder). I was on the phone with technical support for over three hours yesterday with justhost and the best I could get was "That's really weird..." I've checked my logs and there doesn't seem to be anything coming through to my end. Does anybody have an idea of whats going on here? I would love for it to be a problem on my end, because justhost doesn't seem capable of helping further. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks. I forgot to mention that we have several other sites up and running and completely accessible.

• why altgr+p doesn't work, AUTOHOTKEY

  Hi guys, i try and i try to find the bug in this script but i can't . Maybe some of you can give me a hint... Problem. • Upstart can't determine my process' pid

  I'm writing an upstart script for a small service I've written for my colleagues. I can send the TERM signal to the process manually, and it quits gracefully. But running stop queryqueue claims queryqueue stop/waiting but the process is still alive and well. Also, it's logs indicate it never received the kill signal. I'm guessing this is because upstart doesn't know which pid it has. I've also tried expect daemon and leaving the expect clause out entirely, but there's no change in behaviour. How can I get upstart to determine the pid of the exec'd process

• Why does my Intel Tolapai network chip not transmit packets?

  I'm trying to deploy an embedded system (NISE 110 by Nexcom) based on the Intel EP80579 (Tolapai) chip. Tolapai apparently integrates controllers for Ethernet etc. on a single chip (Intel homepage). The machine can't get a network connection. Diagnosis as far as I could manage: Drivers drivers from Intel compiled and installed without problems (version 1.0.3-144). Kernel version and Linux distribution (CentOS 5.2, 2.6.18) match the driver's installation instructions. drivers are loaded and show up in lsmod (module names are gcu and iegbe) interfaces eth0 and eth1 show up in ifconfig ifconfig I can bring up the interfaces with fixed IP pinging the interface locally works ifconfig shows flag UP but not RUNNING Link ethtool shows "Link detected: no", "Speed: unknown (65536)" and "Duplex: unknown (255)" Link LED is on on the other side of the cable, ethtool shows "Link detected: yes" and reports a speed of 1000 Mbps, which has allegedly been auto-neogotiated with the problematic device. Network traffic analysis the device does not reply on ARP, ICMP echo or anything else (iptables is down) when trying to send ICMP or DHCP requests, they never reach the other end activity LED is off on the device, on at the other end. I tried the following without any effect: Different cables (2 straight, one crossed), I get the link LED lit up on each. Three different devices on the other end (one PC, one netbook, one router) Fixed ARP table entries on both sides Connecting both network ports of the machine with each other, won't ping through the cable, but will ping locally. Tried straight and crossed cables for that.

• setting the PATH for Git (not for me)

  Hi, I'm running OSX 10.6.5 with Git 1.7.1 I have git installed in a non-standard location (though that really should be the standard on a mac;-) in /Library/Frameworks/Git.framework. My own PATH is set fine, git works fine, until... I set up a pre-commit hook with a Ruby script: $ git commit -m "added some Yard documentation" .git/hooks/pre-commit: line 1: #!/usr/bin/env: No such file or directory The pre-commit.sample runs ok, so it appears that git can't find /usr/bin/env, or much else as I've tried shebanging it directly to ruby etc. Just /bin/sh is ok. So, where does Git get it's PATH? because it's not using mine or this wouldn't be happening. And more to the point, how do I get it to see /usr/bin/env ? I've tested the ruby script already, it works. • Faster, secure, protocol/code required for long-distance transfer.

  I've ran into a problem and I'm looking for a new secure protocol/client/server that's faster over a 1Gb/s fibre link - let me tell you the story... I have a pair of redundant, diversely-routed, 1Gb/s links over a distance of around 250 miles or so (not dark fibre but a dedicated point to point link, not a mesh). At the 'client' end I have a HP DL380 G5 (2 x dual-core 2.66Ghz Xeon's, 4GB, Windows 2003EE 32-bit), at the 'server' end I have a HP BL460c G6 (2 x quad-core 2.53Ghz Xeons, 48GB, Oracle Linux 5.3 64-bit). I need to transfer around 500 x 2GB files per week from the client to the server machines per week - but the transfer NEEDS to be secure. Using both iPerf or regular FTP I can get ~80MB/s of transfer pretty consistently, which is great. Using WinSCP or Windows SFTP I can't seem to get more that ~3-4MB/s, at this point the server's CPU is 3% busy while CPU0 of the client goes to ~30% utilised. We've tried editing various TCP window sizes with little success. Both ends are connected to quite low-usage Cisco Cat6509's with Sup720's. I can replace the client machine with a newer machine and/or move it to Linux - but this will take time. Clearly these single-threaded secure Windows clients are introducing too much latency doing their encryption. So a few questions/thoughts; Are there any higher performing secure protocols or client software for Windows that I could try? I'm pretty protocol-gnostic so long as it'll work between Windows and Linux. Should I be using hardware to do the encryption, either in the client or the network parts? If so what would you recommend? I'm not convinced that just swapping the server would be that much faster, the CPU was only at 30% but then again that's higher than I'd have expected given the load - moving to Linux at the client end may be a better idea but would be quite disruptive. Am I missing a trick? Thanks in advance.

• Boot records messed on dual boot (win7 and ubuntu) machine with SSD and HDD

  i have a lenovo ideapad y570 with two hard drives: SSD and normal HDD both managed by RapidDrive and windows 7 pre-installed. First, i have shrunk my 500 GB HDD a little bit to make some place for a linux installation. Then i installed linux mint 12 to it, also installed grub onto the drive (dev/sdb). Installation programm has not allowed me to install grub on sda. Then i replaced linux mint with ubuntu 12.04 but installed grub onto the SSD (which is dev/sda and was the default-option). After that i could boot into my windows, only ubuntu worked. So i did a research, and tried: rewriting mbr of windows into sda1, reinstalling grub, replacing grub2 with grub-legacy, and now i think my partitions table are totally messed. If i boot from the SSD, it throws some mbr error and wont boot, if i boot from the HDD, i only get the grub bash. How do i restore the partition tables? I can boot only from a live-cd at the machine. Stop When I press start, I would like it to record the current time with this format: (dd/mm/yy hh:nn:ss:) in a specific column. Then when I press the Stop Button I would like it to record the time again in the cell next to it. Then if I press start Again I would like it to record below the first cells current record. • Unable to resize ec2 ebs root volume

  I have followed many of the tutorials that pretty much all say the same thing which is basically: Stop the instance Detach the volume Create a snapshot of the volume Create a bigger volume from the snapshot Attach the new volume to the instance Start the instance back up Run resize2fs /dev/xxx However, step 7 is where the problems start happening. In any case running resize2fs always tells me that it is already xxxxx blocks big and does nothing, even with -f passed. So I start to continue with tutorials which all basically say the same thing and that is: Delete all partitons Recreate them back to what they were except with the bigger sizes Reboot the instance and run resize2fs (I have tried these steps both from the live instance and by attaching the volume to another instance and running the commands there) The main problem is that the instance won't start back up again and the system error log provided in the AWS console doesn't provide any errors. (it does however stop at the grub bootloader which to me indicates that it doesn't like the partitions(yes, the boot flag was toggled on the partition with no affect)) The other thing that happens regardless of what changes I make to the partitions is that the instance that the volume is attached to says that the partition has an invalid magic number and the super-block is corrupt. However, if I make no changes and reattach the volume, the instance runs without a problem. Can anybody shed some light on what I could be doing wrong? • Multiple copies off the same printer on Windows 7 from PrintUIEntry

  I currently have a number of bat files which work perfectly fine on Windows XP which install the same printer multiple times with a number of finisher options set - e.g. after running the bat file below I would end up with four printers in the printer drop down called Sharp Kits Printer - A4 Single Sided Sharp Kits Printer - A4 Single Sided Stapled Sharp Kits Printer - A4 Duplex Stapled Sharp Kits Printer - A4 Duplex which all have there options configured in the relevant way. I have amended on Windows 7 to point to correct INF file and printer name in the INF files - a single printer installs fine. However when I run the complete batch file only the first printer in it is installed - occassionally the later ones flash up in the GUI but then vanish when you press F5 and are still missing after a reboot. I have tried adding the "/u" paramater to the end, I have changed the "/n" paramater to be different (e.g. n1, n2,n3 etc) - both of these result in the same. I have also tried to change the port (/r) to have "_1" (etc) on the end like the GUI would but this errors as the port doesn't exist. Is it possible to do this on Windows 7, and if so how?

• Heavy write to Galera cluster - table locked, cluster practically unusable

  I set up Galera Cluster on 3 nodes. It works perfectly for reading data. I have done simple application to make some test on the cluster. Unfortunately I have to say that the Cluster fails totally when I try to do some writing. Maybe it can be configured differently or I do sth wrong? Unfortunately - after about 10 seconds sth is going bad. On servers there is process 'query_end' that never ends. After that - you cannot make update on the test table, MySQL returns: ERROR 1205 (HY000): Lock wait timeout exceeded; try restarting transaction . You cant even restart mysql. What you can do is to restart server, sometimes whole cluster. Is Galera Cluster so unreliable when you do massive concucurrent writing/updates? Hard to believe.

  I am setting up server for hosting two WordPress which has size of around 70GB. I have already installed CentOS as OS and I would like to partition the Disk. Is there any tool which can help me or can someone guide me though the process as I am not expert is SSH commands. Here are some output that might help. I compiled apache with tomcat because I intend to use Solr... not sure if this is relevant or not.

• printer assignments for windows xp workstations within an active directory environment

  I'm using the following script to handle removing any old networked printers from machines and then assigning the propper ones and making one of them the default. This script is assigned to the OU the workstations reside in and uses group policy loopback so all users that login will get the appropriate printers mapped for them. I tried to use the new Printer Manager as part of W2K3 R2 but when assigning the default this way I get an error that the printer doesn't exist so I'm back to using the script. One flaw that I'm noticing is that it won't remove any printers that happen to be mapped from an RDP session (we don't see this everywhere but there are a few locations).   Hi I got a Raspberry Pi at A.A.A.B in my local network and I have set up a DMZ on my router so that any incoming traffic that comes to my router gets redirected to my raspberry pi wich I can connect via NO-IP adress. The problem is that I want to set up portforwarding since i got several services running on my Pi like SSH, torrent webgui, webalbum, etc. I had this already done before long time ago, but I forgot a bit the syntax and cant get to set it up. Router Help says: The Application allows you to do port forwarding, but only have the ports open when data flowing out of the trigger ports. When a program sends data out on outgoing ports called trigger ports, the device then allows incoming data on the open ports specified in your port triggering configuration. 1.Trigger Port Start Trigger Port Start Specify the start port on the device that would trigger the device to open ports for incoming data. 2.Trigger Port End Specify the end port on the device that would trigger the device to open ports for incoming data. You can enter a port number the same as the trigger port start or enter a larger port number to specify a port range. 3.Trigger Traffic Protocol Type Select the trigger traffic type. Open Port Specify all the ports to be opened. It's content could be: A single port only. A port range only. Start open port number and end port number should be separated by "-" . Combined several single port and several port ranges. Each single port or port range should be separated by "," . Open Traffic Protocol Type Select the open traffic type. But, what about /dev/sda2 and /dev/sda5? When I tried to mount /dev/sda2, it said that I needed to specify the file system, which according to the table, is nonexistent. So, is it safe to format this with, say ext4 and mount it? Also, when I tried to mount /dev/sd5, it gave me this error: mount: unknown filesystem type 'LVM2_member' I assume it is NOT save to reformat this. If I'm wrong, then that would be great, because I could save some space. Please let me know either way. Thanks in advance!
