• Javascript works great locally, but not on my server

  I'm teaching myself javascript by creating a script for displaying an external rss feed on a webpage. The code I patched together works great locally. This is a screen grab of the code producing exactly the desired behavior. The code is populating all the information inside the section "Blog: Shades of Gray", except for "tagged" which I hard coded: But when I upload the site files to my server, the code doesn't work at all. • [BEGINNER] Javascript Pop Ups

  Hey All, My boss has asked for a page that will not change to have two timed pop ups load. I have found code and edited it to what I had thought it should do, but it is only loading the last onLoad event. I am a designer and I have helped with making webpages, but Javascript is so far outside of what I can understand. I have already learned how to use the single pop up and spent a whiiile learning the timeouts, but I cannot seem to get it to work with multiple popup functions. • Unable to browse some pdfs and docs.

  I have a web site that uses Microsoft Indexing Service to index and query a directory that holds various documents of type pdf, rtf, mht, and doc. The indexing and querying works well (for the most part); however, some files will load while others will not. This is a Windows Server 2003 box running the site using IIS 6. The indexed directory is a sub directory off of the site's root directory (i.e. http://my.domain.com/files/). The file paths are accurate in the URL; however, I can only access some of the files of each file type. The files that I cannot access give a 404 File Not Found. I am able to open all files via windows explorer;however, attempting to open them via a browser over http is hit and miss. Has anyone experienced this issue and know how to resolve it? Anyone have any idea why I could access some files but not others? Does anyone have any recommendations on what to look into to try this (i.e. does owner matter or something like that?)? • Only root object on request is deserialized when using Message.GetBody<>

  I am attempting to create a wcf service that accepts any input (Action="*") and then deserialize the message after determining its type. For the purposes of testing deserialization I am currently hard-coding the type for the test service. I get no errors from the deserialization process, but only the outer object is populated after deserialization occurs. All inner fields are null. I can process the same request against the original wcf service successfully. I am deserializing this way, where knownTypes is a type list of expected types: DataContractSerializer ser = new DataContractSerializer(new createEligibilityRuleSet ().GetType(), knownTypes); createEligibilityRuleSet newReq = buf.CreateMessage().GetBody<createEligibilityRuleSet>(ser); Here is the class and sub-classes of the request object. These classes are generated by svcutil using a top down approach from an existing wsdl. I have tried replacing the XmlTypeAttributes with DataContracts and the XmlElements with DataMembers with no difference. It is the instance of CreateEligibilityRuleSetSvcRequest on the createEligibilityRuleSet object that is null.   When I'm trying to create a rounded shaded box it works fine on FF and IE8 but on IE6 and IE7, any div inside the box gets the last background but if you set that all divs on the level where there should not be a background have background:none it doesn't show any background on the level that comes before *The code is pointing to live images on Image Shack so you can save and run that it will work normally on Firefox but you can see what happen on IE6/7. It is possible that some of the delay is being caused because all the possible fields have not yet been indexed. The tag field of tags table is indexed. Is there something faulty with the query? What can be the reason behind 20+ seconds of execution time? How tags work in this system? When a tutor registers, tags are entered and tag relations are created with respect to tutor's details like name, surname etc. When a Tutors create packs, again tags are entered and tag relations are created with respect to pack's details like pack name, description etc. tag relations for tutors stored in tutors_tag_relations and those for packs stored in learning_packs_tag_relations. • Sharepoint RSS feed description fields as elements

  Hello, This is my first time working with RSS but I am fluent with XML/XSL. I have a RSS feed that I am pulling from a list in Sharepoint. The sample XML is below. The RSS description element parses the various columns (Body, Expires, Attachments) that are in the Sharepoint list automatically. I know that from the list I can control which fields are included in the description, but this is not what I am looking to do. Is there any way to force the fields to come through in an XML element format instead of the CDATA that converted to HTML? For example, I may want to check a priority field and if it is important when applying the XSL I would bold red it or something. • Hover/Fadeto/Toggle Multiple Class Changing

  So my problem is rather simple and complex at the same time. I am trying to create links that fade in when you mouseover them and fade out when you mouseout of them. At the same time that you are going over them I would like a pic to slide from the left. This is the easy part, I have every thing working. The image fades and another image slides. I did this by using a hover, fadeto, and toggle("slide"). I would like to do this in a table format with multiple images being able to be scrolled over and sliding images out. The problem is that I am calling my sliding image to a class and when I hover over the letters both images slide out. Does anybody have a solution for this? • swap a div to an embed form when user tweets using the @anywhere function box

  I'm using the @anywhere twitter function on the front page of my site (vocabbomb.com) and right now it works great to allow users to tweet straight away. Problem is, when they click tweet, it just reloads the twitter box, empty. I want it to load something new, like a "thank you, now fill in this email form" and show a mailchimp form. • Need help with regex parsing (in perl)

  Hi all, need some help parsing an html file in perl. I used the LWP module to retrieve a webpage into $_ with $/ undefined so there are no newline issues. Then I'm trying to find all strings matching a pattern. How do I do that? • Wordpress blog with Joomla?

  Hi, I had this Wordpress installation which was installed in a subfolder (not root). Like http: //server/blog/. Now, I installed Joomla on the root (http: //server/). Everything seems to be working fine with the Joomla part. However, the blog part is messed up. If I try to browse the homepage of my blog which is http: //server/blog/ it works like a charm. But while trying to view individual blog pages like say, http: //server/blog/some_category/some_post I get a Joomla 404 page. So, I was wondering if it was possible to use both Wordpress and Joomla in the same server in the setup I am trying to. Let me clarify that I am NOT looking to integrate user login and other such things. I just want the blog to be functional under a subfolder while I run the Joomla site in the root. So, what is the correct way to go about it. Can this be solved by any .config edits or something else? Edit: Here's the .htaccess for Joomla ...
