• IE 8 prompts user on "slow" jQuery script

The following code works to reorder my list without any apparent problems in Firefox; however, IE prompts with the message "A script on this page is causing Internet Explorer to run slowly. If it continues to run, your computer may become unresponsive. Do you want to abort the script?" • How to log POSTed forms submissions?

  Back in the ASP classic days when i needed to write out the name/value pairs of forms submitted by POST i thru this loop into the page: on error resume next for each x in Request.Form Response.AppendToLog x & "=" & Request(x) next It threw all the form fields and values into the log just as GETs are. Does IIS7 .net give me any better method? (this is for the dev/testing portion of the project i don't have any concern about the space or cycles used to accomplish this). thx

• Delphi : Restore a pre-design tabsheet after user has closed it...

  Hello, I have a tPageControl on a form, and have made a nice 'welcome page' as a new ttabsheet at design time for the user to start off with. However, if the user closes this tab, I would like the option to bring it back, as it was in originally (much like the welcome page in the Delphi IDE). This seems like a simple problem... When the tab closes, the original sheet is freed and set nil. I tried creating the sheet again by name (e.g. tabsheet1 := ttabsheet.create) and assigning it to the pagecontrol, but none of the original components from the sheet are there anymore... I know designing the welcome page as a separate form, creating it when I need it and slapping it into a new tabsheet would work... but I was just wondering if there was a way to do it with the design time tabsheet.   I have a photo website. 15% of the photos belong to approved registered users. They agree my terms about uploading their images in my web pages. I include a photographer credit on right bottom corner. About identifying the site with google, every page contains a google+ button to MY google+ page it also contains <link href="https://plus.google.com/nnnnnnnnnn/" rel="publisher" /> I need some advice in order to respect google rules about my pages containing other photographers images not to be penalized because of possible duplicated or interpreted as stolen content. My concern is also about adding G+ links (to MY photo page) and Google publisher id would harm my site rank because of pages containing third-party photos.

• Best practices for displaying large number of images as thumbnails in c#

  I got to a point where it's very difficult to get answers by debugging and tracing object, so i need some help. What I'm trying to do: A history form for my screen capture pet project. The history must list all images as thumbnails (ex: picasa). What I've done: I created a HistoryItem:UserControl. This history item has a few buttons, a check box, a label and a picture box. The buttons are for delete/edit/copy image. The check box is used for selecting one or more images and the label is for some info text. The picture box is getting the image from a public property that is a path and a method creates a proportional thumbnail to display it when the control has been loaded. This user control has two public events. One for deleting the image and one for bubbling the events for mouse enter and mouse leave trough all controls. For this I use EventBroadcastProvider. The bubbling is useful because wherever I move the mouse over the control, the buttons appear. The dispose method has been extended and I manually remove the events. All images are loaded by looping a xml file that contains the path of all images. For each image in this XML I create a new HitoryItem that is added (after a little coding to sort and limit the amount of images loaded) to a flow layout panel. The problem: When I lunch the history form, and the flow layout panel is populated with my HistoryItem custom control, my memory usage increases drastically.From 14Mb to around 100MB with 100 images loaded. By closing the history form and disposing whatever I could dispose and even trying to call GC.Collect() the memory increase remain. I search for any object that could not be disposed properly like an image or event but wherever I used them they are disposed. The problem seams to be from multiple sources. One is that the events for bubbling are not disposing properly, and the other is from the picture box itself. All of this i could see by commenting all the code to a limited version when only the custom control without any image processing and even events is loaded. Without the events the memory consumption is reduced by axiomatically 20%. So my real question is if this logic, flow layout panels and custom controls with picture boxes, is the best solution for displaying large amounts of images as thumbnails. Thank you!

• Build turns partially transparent image pixels black

  I'm very new to C# and I've run into a problem and haven't been able to solve it. I have a row of buttons that have .png images assigned to them. The images are in .png format to allow transparency, and smoothing the edges in GIMP leaves some semi-transparent pixels. I've set the Image List Toolbar (imglToolbar)'s properties to recognize "Transparent" as the designated color to show up as transparent. I'm working in Visual Studio 2005. The strange thing is that everything looks great when I'm viewing the Visual C# form preview window. The icons look exactly as they should. However, once I actually build the project, the buttons treat every semi-transparent pixel near the edge of the image as if it's black. ArrayList<Class> typeList; and I have some input values; ArrayList<Object> values; How to cast some value to some type if I know which type from the typeList is the values; typeList.get(i).cast(values.get(i)); <- this is not working??? Actualy I generate dynamic form in runtime. With Java reflection I get parameterTypes from methods from some class, I generate form with input fields and then i want to cast the text from the input fields to specific types from the paramterTypes that I got with Java reflection from some class.

I tried moving the code to a separate class and found that I could not use Controls.Add(). How can I add controls to the Form from a separate class? • Passing a web service an unknown number of parameters

  I'm relatively new to utilizing web services. I'm trying to create one that will be accepting data from a ASP.Net form whose input controls are created dynamically at runtime and I don't how many control values will be getting passed. I'm thinking I'll be using jQuery's serialize() on the form to get the data, but what do I have the web service accept for a parameter? I thought maybe I could use serializeArray(), but still I don't know what type of variable to accept for the JavaScript array. Finally, I was thinking that I might need to create a simple data transfer object with the data before sending it along to the web service. I just didn't wanna go through with the DTO route if there was a much simpler way or an established best practice that I should follow. Thanks in advance for any direction you can provide and let me know I wasn't clear enough, or if you have any questions.

  I'm attempting to add an event handler for every control on my form. The form is a simple info box which pops up, and clicking anywhere on it does the same thing (sort of like Outlook's email notifier.) • Dreamweaver recordset filter - Display all records as default

  I am trying to create a simple search form to filter the results in the dynamic table. The search form is on the same pages as the results and posts to itself. I get the search string from the post variable. It is working, but I can't figure out how to set the default value to display all results. Dreamweaver automatically sets the default value to -1, and therefore no results are displayed on the initial load. How do I change this to display ALL records as default and the filter only if there is search string defined.

• Submit jQuery UI dialog on <Enter>

  I have a jQuery UI dialog box with a form. I would like to simulate a click on one of the dialog's buttons so you don't have to use the mouse or tab over to it. In other words, I want it to act like a regular GUI dialog box where simulates hitting the "OK" button. I assume this might be a simple option with the dialog, but I can't find it in the jQuery UI documentation. I could bind each form input with keyup() but didn't know if there was a simpler/cleaner way. Thanks.

• Can't start ubuntu 11.10, Stops at login screen!

  I have been trying to dual boot ubuntu with windows 7 via WUBI on my custom built pc but without success. When i start the computer i can choose windows or ubuntu i choose ubuntu and when i should get to the login screen the screen just stays purple/pink. Tried safe mode but cant get in there either. I have tried reinstall but did not work either. :( The second time i install ubuntu the screen was purple/pink and the screen was cut of so the left side was on the right side and right side on left side (hard to describe) Third time installing (The last time) it is just like the first time please help!!!! cant get nowhere without help i am kinda new at ubuntu and its creepy commands. Had ubuntu on my old computer. I think the problem is my hardware so here is my computer specs: Amd Fx 6100 Amd HIS Radeon HD 6950 ICEQ X Asus Sabertooth 990fx 1TB Harddrive I have no idea the name on it Please Help me!!
