    What is the cause of this exception in ASP.NET? Obviously it is a viewstate exception, but I can't reproduce the error on the page that is throwing the exception (a simple two TextBox form with a button and navigation links).     I'm currently working on a project with a one page design that'll slide up and down between sections on an <a href> link... Currently, i have it written as follows: <ul> <li><a href="javascript:void(0)" onClick="goToByScroll('top')">home</a></li> <li><a href="javascript:void(0)" onClick="goToByScroll('artistsmaterials')">artist's materials</a></li> <li><a href="javascript:void(0)" onClick="goToByScroll('pictureframing')">picture framing</a></li> <li><a href="javascript:void(0)" onClick="goToByScroll('gallery')">gallery</a></li> <li><a href="javascript:void(0)" onClick="goToByScroll('contactus')">contact us</a></li> </ul> ...with the most relevant portion being the links: <a href="javascript:void(0)" onClick="goToByScroll('contactus')"> Then in a .js file I have: function goToByScroll(id){ $('html,body').animate({scrollTop: $("#"+id).offset().top},'slow'); } Is this ok? Or should this be done a different way?

  • Why is there a time lag when trying to change the text on a button in IE using JQuery?

    I have some Ajax that runs on a button click. Sometimes it takes a few seconds to return, so I wanted a visual clue to the user that the browser was doing something. So, I have this: $('#SubmitButton').attr("value", "Working..."); $('#SubmitButton').attr("disabled", true); //Synchronous Ajax call goes here $('#SubmitButton').attr("value", "Submit"); $('#SubmitButton').attr("disabled", false); As you can see, it changes the text on the button, and disables it. When the Ajax call comes back (it's synchronous, remember), the button changes back. In Firefox, this works great. In IE, it's...odd. It doesn't run the code in order. It doesn't change the text of the button and launches right into the Ajax call. The browser blocks with the Submit active and saying "Submit." Right after the Ajax comes back, the button quickly flashes "Working..." then back to Submit." So, for some reason, IE isn't changing the text of the button until after the Ajax call, even though the code for it is before the Ajax call. It's acting like this: //Synchronous Ajax call goes here $('#SubmitButton').attr("value", "Working..."); $('#SubmitButton').attr("disabled", true); $('#SubmitButton').attr("value", "Submit"); $('#SubmitButton').attr("disabled", false); Again, this works perfectly in Firefox. But in IE, there's some kind of...lag?

  • How can I separate Logic/UI in Android

    Hi, I want as my application to be structured in 2 parts: the logic code and the UI. I've tried to implement that using a controller class(here I keep the logic code) inside of each activity. The activity send messages to controller and receive the answer in two ways: the answer is returned immediately (if the action is not complex and it can be done in a verry short time) the activity set some listeners and the controller fire this listener when the action is complete. The problems appears when the controller have a lot of objects(each object should handle a set of actions and for each action I have to set & trigger a listener): it is hard to keep the code syncronized. I'm asking if you know a better way to implement this mechanism. Thank you.

    I've the following code to fetch events: $('#calendar').fullCalendar({ theme: true, slotMinutes: 10, header: { left: 'prev,next today', center: 'title', right: 'month,agendaWeek,agendaDay', }, defaultView: 'agendaDay', allDaySlot: false, editable: false, events: "/cgi-bin/shlk/getshlkruns.pl" }); The output from getshlkruns.pl is fairly simple json feed: [{'title': 'Successful','start': 1266398223,'end': 1266398266,'url': '/shlk/cgi-bin/getshlkrunlog.pl?i=21'}] There are several events like above (i've removed for brevity sake). So the above events show up when am in the month view but mysteriously absent when am in week or day view. What am doing wrong here? Thanks in advance for your answers.

    I have spent the last few hours attempting to do this on my own, and using Google to find a solution but to no avail. So if you can help out i would super appreciate it! Basically I have a page which has 3 separate biographies in 'preview mode', which shows only the first paragraph of each bio. When you click on 'read more' for one bio it opens up the 'full mode'. What is happening at the moment, is if i click on one 'read more' link, it opens up the full mode on all 3 bio's.     Hi all - when I look up the syntax for .data(), it gives examples like this: $('body').data('foo', 52); I am doing AJAX loads and I was wondering if it is possible to store the incoming html using .data() so once the content is loaded, I would not need to do another AJAX load if the same link is clicked again - I would check to see if the .data key is empty.     I'm using the following code to create an image element, load it, then append it to the article on load. $('<img />') .attr('src', 'image.png') //actually imageData[0].url .load(function(){ $('article').append( $(this) ); alert('image added'); }); The alert is firing off ok, but the image doesn't appear, and when I inspect the element it has been added without the closing slash <img src='image.png' > Why is the browser removing the forward slash and how do I stop it?
