    I need to create a review form. I have 2 models and 2 controllers – Products and Reviews with 'Products' hasMany 'Reviews' relationship, the review form will be displayed on the current product page (Products controller, 'view' action), and this form will be use another controller (Reviews). Also I need validation with validation errors being displayed for this form. In my Products controller view.ctp I have: // product page stuff... echo $this->Form->create($model = 'Review', array('url' => '/reviews/add')); echo $this->Form->input('name', array('label' => 'Your name:')); echo $this->Form->input('email', array('label' => 'Your e-mail:')); echo $this->Form->input('message', array('rows' => '6', 'label' => 'Your message:')); echo $this->Form->end('Send'); echo $this->Session->flash(); ReviewsController - add: public function add() { if ($this->request->is('post')) { $this->Review->save($this->request->data); $this->redirect(array('controller' => 'products', 'action' => 'view', $this->request->data['Review']['product_id'], '#' => 'reviews')); } } Somehow this horrible code works.. in part. Review saves, but I don't get validation errors, and I can't add 'if ($this->Review->save($this->request->data);) { //... } because it will break this action (missed view error). My question is how to properly deal with this situation to achieve functionality that I need? Should I use elements with request action or I should move adding reviews to the ProductsController?

From my reasearch this is because the context has been pulled out due to the foreach loop, the loop shouldn't be necessary. I want to achieve:- <input name="BillingMatrix.BillingRateRows[0].BillingRates[0].Rate" id="BillingMatrix_BillingRateRows_0_BillingRates_0__Rate" style="width: 20px;" type="text" value="0"/> If I change the BillingRateRow View to:- @model WIP_Data_Migration.Models.ViewModels.BillingRateRowViewModel <tr> @Html.EditorFor(m => Model.BillingRates) </tr> It will throw an InvalidOperationException, 'model item passed into the dictionary is of type System.Collections.ObjectModel.Collection [BillingRateRowViewModel] but this dictionary required a type of BillingRateRowViewModel. Can anyone shed any light on this?

    Is it possible to add a trailing slash to the default context of an application? Example: http://www.uri.com/foo -> http://www.uri.com/foo/ I added the following redirect to the server properties: redirect_1: from=/foo url-prefix=/foo/ and this ends up in a loop... Several other configurations also didn't work :-/ I'm using glassfish v2.1-b60e.

  • How to show useful error messages from a database error callback in Phonegap?

    Using Phonegap you can set a function to be called back if the whole database transaction or the individual SQL statement errors. I'd like to know how to get more information about the error. I have one generic error-handling function, and lots of different SELECTs or INSERTs that may trigger it. How can I tell which one was at fault? It is not always obvious from the error message. My code so far is... function get_rows(tx) { tx.executeSql("SELECT * FROM Blah", [], lovely_success, statement_error); } function add_row(tx) { tx.executeSql("INSERT INTO Blah (1, 2, 3)", [], carry_on, statement_error); } function statement_error(tx, error) { alert(error.code + ' / ' + error.message); } From various examples I see the error callback will be passed a transaction object and an error object. I read that .code can have the following values: UNKNOWN_ERR = 0 DATABASE_ERR = 1 VERSION_ERR = 2 TOO_LARGE_ERR = 3 QUOTA_ERR = 4 SYNTAX_ERR = 5 CONSTRAINT_ERR = 6 TIMEOUT_ERR = 7 Are there any other properties/methods of the error object? What are the properties/methods of the transaction object at this point? I can't seem to find a good online reference for this. Certainly not on the Phonegap website!

Now, if that is true, why doesn't the loop just run continuously? I mean, even if you were to divide 0 by 10 then that would still extract a number. If the user was to input "50607", it would first cut off the "7", then the "0", and so on and so on, but why does it exit the loop after removing the "5". Wouldn't the response after the "5" be the same as the "0" between the 5 and the 6 to the program?

  • Salesforce/PHP - outbound messages (SOAP) - memory limit issue? DOMDocument::loadXML() issue?

    I'm using Salesforce to send outbound messages (via SOAP) to another server. The server can process about 8 messages at a time, but will not send back the ACK file if the SOAP request contains more than 8 messages. SF can send up to 100 outbound messages in 1 SOAP request and I think this is causing a memory issue with PHP. If I process the outbound messages 1 by 1 they all go through fine, I can even do 8 at a time with no issues. But larger sets are not working. ERROR in SF: org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: Premature end of file Looking in the HTTP error logs I see that the incoming SOAP message looks to be getting cut of which throws a PHP warning stating: DOMDocument::loadXML() ... Premature end of data in tag ... PHP Fatal error: Call to a member function getAttribute() on a non-object This leads me to believe that PHP is having a memory issue and can not parse the incoming message due to it's size. I was thinking I could just set: ini_set('memory_limit', '64M'); // This has done nothing to fix the problem But would this be the correct approach? Is there a way I could set this to increase with the incoming SOAP request dynamically?   • Error with zoomStartTime and AnnotatedTimeLine

    I'm a bit of a beginner with Javascript, but last month I had a working Google chart linked to a Google Docs file, which uses a start date for the graph at 90 days before the current date. I checked the page today and in Chrome I get the message "Object # has no method 'getTime'", and in Firefox I get the message "b.zoomStartTime[y] is not a function". Both stop the graph from loading. I have simplified the code to help me with the error, but I'm not getting anywhere...     I am writing an App Engine app that is supposed to receive emails in this form: [email protected] (someID is an alphanumeric ID that I generate). I have this in my web.xml thinking it would catch emails that start with 'addcontact.': <servlet> <servlet-name>addNewContactServlet</servlet-name> <servlet-class>com.mycompany.server.AddNewContactServlet</servlet- class> </servlet> <servlet-mapping> <servlet-name>addNewContactServlet</servlet-name> <url-pattern>/_ah/mail/addcontact.*</url-pattern> </servlet-mapping> However, both on my dev machine and on google's servers email is not received. On the dev machine I get this message (I get a similar error in the deployed log) Message send failure HTTP ERROR 404 Problem accessing /_ah/mail/ [email protected]. Reason: NOT_FOUND I can receive email at fully specified addresses or when I use /_ah/mail/* The google documentation made me believe it was possible to include partial email addresses in web.xml. Am I not using the wildcard correctly? Does the period have something to do with it? Can this be done somehow?

  • Works on debug but not release

Until then I wait: while(1) { if(done[0] == true) { break; } } This code works just fine in Debug but in Release it stays in the loop forever even though the debugger clearly says that it is true and not false.     I have a dynamically generated select with some options and it shows the options fine in normal browsers, but its empty options in IE. Maybe you had some of you would've had a similar experience and could figure this one out. The weird thing is, if I alert the html of the option just after the getDiff() function, it shows the value filled out. And it I put the getDiff() function in the for loop where the options are generated, it fills the values and shows them in IE, just not the last one. I'm calling getDiff() outside the loop for optimization, and since I can add the values later after all the options are generated. Well at least I thought I could, since it works on Firefox and Chrome.
