  • Getting the Value of a UITextField as keystrokes are entered?

    Let's say I have the following code: IBOutlet UITextField* nameTextField; IBOutlet UILabel* greetingLabel; I'd like the greetingLabel to read "Hello [nameTextField]" as soon as the user presses any key. What I need basically is the iPhone equivalent of the Cocoa delegate method -controlTextDidChange: The -textField:shouldChangeCharactersInRange: delegate method is called each time a keystroke occurs: - (BOOL) textField:(UITextField *)textField shouldChangeCharactersInRange:(NSRange)range replacementString:(NSString *)string The string argument returns the character that is pressed. The actual textField's value (nameTextField.text) remains blank however. What am I missing here? (I'd like nameTextField to reflect the exact string that the user has entered so far)

    I'm attempting to get Rails to play nice with the Digg API's OAuth. I'm using the oauth gem (ruby one, not the rails one). My code looks approximately like this: @consumer = OAuth::Consumer.new(API_KEY, API_SECRET, :scheme => :header, :http_method => :post, :oauth_callback => "http://locahost:3000", :request_token_url => 'http://services.digg.com/1.0/endpoint?method=oauth.getRequestToken', :access_token_url => 'http://services.digg.com/1.0/endpoint?method=oauth.getAccessToken', :authorize_url => 'http://digg.com/oauth/authorize') @request_token = @consumer.get_request_token session[:request_token] = @request_token.token session[:request_token_secret] = @request_token.secret redirect_to @request_token.authorize_url Which is by-the-book in terms of what the gem documentation gave me. However, Digg spits a "400 Bad Request" error back at me when @consumer.get_request_token is called. I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. Any ideas?

    As I iterate through a DataTable object, I need to check each of its DataRow objects against the items in a generic string List. I found a blog post using the List's Find method along with a delegate, but whereas that example has a separate class (Person), I'm attempting something like the following using an instance of the string object: // My definition of the List object. List<string> lstAccountNumbers = new List<string>(); ... // I populate the List via its Add method. ... foreach (DataRow drCurrentRow in dtMyDataTable.Rows) { if (lstAccounts.Find(delegate(string sAccountNumber) { return sAccountNumber == drCurrentRow["AccountNumber"]; }) { Found_DoSomething(); } else { NotFound_DoSomethingElse(); } } However, with this syntax I'm receiving "Cannot implicitly convert type 'string' to 'bool'" for the if block. Could someone please clarify what I'm doing wrong and how best to accomplish what I'm trying to do?

    I have a simple structure, it's just an array of model's objects. For example, it's a users with books. @books = Book.find(:all, :include = :users) I need to check, does user have a book? I have written a helper method: def has_book?(user_id) @books.select{|b| b.user_id == user_id}.any? end Then, i need to get only books from selected library def in_library(n) @books.select{|b| b.library == n} end I have tried to make custom Array class: class BooksList < Array def initialize(books) self << books end # its my custom methods def has_book?(user_id) self.select{|b| b.user_id == user_id}.any? end def in_library(n) self.select{|b| b.library == n} end end It works, but i have only one problem. I can't access Book's assotiated object (user). So i can't write: @books = BookList.new(Book.find(:all, :include => :users)) @books.first.user.id # it says undefined method `user' for #<Array:0x104b43e08>

But notification always plays with the same volume despite that volume number in setStreamVolume method. Why is that?

  • How to create an aspect on class, that is not a bean using Spring AOP?

    Hello, I work on an legacy application, where Spring AOP (namely ProxyFactoryBean) is used. I need to add an aspect around a method of a certain class. This class is not a bean however. The AspecjJ pointcut expression would be like this: execution(* xyz.package.Class.method()) I created a MethodInterceptor and AspectJExpressionPointcut, but I don't know how make those two work together. EDIT: I do not have source code for this class, it is a 3rd party library. The instances of this class are not created by me, neither in source code, nor in spring configuration as beans. It is used internally by the library. Any help appreciated.

  • Navingating to an .html file in the assembly

    I’m working with the WPF WebBrowser control to navigate to a html page hosting Silverlight. It seems I cannot use the NavigateToString or NavigateToStream method since I have Silverlight content. The html content loads fine but not Silverlight. So I think I’ll have to use the Navigate method which takes an Uri. Now I html page I’d like to navigate to is in a .html file in my Visual Studio project so I will have to have a local uri of some sort. I don’t want the html file to be copied to the output folder since I don’t want to distribute it separately; I want it to be somehow included in the assembly. The problem is that the WebBrowser control doesn’t seem to allow relative Uris or pack://application: uris. How could I accomplish navingating to an .html file in the assembly?

Assuming I am using Json as the RequestFormat, what is the best way of serialising an instance of MySimpleObject into the body of the request before I send it ? Now I have method public ActionResult ErrorPage(int errorno) { return View(); } now if i want to run this code with http://something/mycontroller/Errorpage/1 it doesnt work. but if i change the parameter name to id from errorno it works. Is it cumpulsory to have same parameter name for this method. Or I need to create seperate routes for such situations. Regards Parminder

  • JPopupMenu returning a null?

    Ok so I'm working on an Eclipse plugin based on the JGraph example. The problem is I can't really get the "save" method to work, here's how the program works in short: - I have a DiagramEditor class with an init() method, where I create a GraphEditor object and call the createFrame() methord of that object. - GraphEditor extends the BasicGraphEditor (which extends JPanel), the createFrame() method returns a JFrame and has a line "frame.setJMenuBar(menuBar)" - the "menuBar" is an object variable, which is initialized in the BasicGraphEditor. Till here everything is cool, the problem is with the action listener which is supposed to save a file. To get the graph I need to get the GraphEditor component, so I do a Component component = (Component) e.getSource() whitch is the ActionEvent passed to that action listener and at that stage is the JMenuItem "save", then I get the parent which is the JPopupMenu, then I want to get that JPopupMenu's parent which should be the GraphEdiotor, but instead I get a null. Any idea why?   • How can I specifiy JUnit test dependencies?

    Our toolkit has over 15000 JUnit tests, and many tests are known to fail if some other test fails. For example, if the method X.foo() uses functionality from Y.foo() and YTest.testFoo() fails, then XTest.testFoo() will fail too. Obviously, XTest.testFoo() can also fail because of problems specific to X.foo(). While this is fine and I still want both tests run, it would be nice if one could annotate a test dependency with XTest.testFoo() pointing to YTest.testFoo(). This way, one could immediately see what functionality used by X.foo() is also failing, and what not. Is there such annotation available in JUnit or elsewhere? Something like: public YTests { @Test @DependsOn(method=org.example.tests.YTest#testFoo) public void testFoo() { // Assert.something(); } }

I find it really difficult to follow what is going on in Python when things like this break. In the languages I mentioned previously it's fairly straightforward to figure things like this out -- check the method signature and check your parameters. Looking at the Django documentation for half an hour left me just as lost. Looking at the source for get_or_create(self, **kwargs) didn't help either since there is no method signature and the code appears very generic. A next step would be to debug the method and try to figure out what is happening, but this seems a bit extreme... I seem to be missing some fundamental operating principle here... what is it? How do I resolve issues like this on my own in the future?

    Hi, I have the input file contains large amount of transactions like Transaction ID Items T1 Bread, milk, coffee, juice T2 Juice, milk, coffee T3 Bread, juice T4 Coffee, milk T5 Bread, Milk T6 Coffee, Bread T7 Coffee, Bread, Juice T8 Bread, Milk, Juice T9 Milk, Bread, Coffee, T10 Bread T11 Milk T12 Milk, Coffee, Bread, Juice i want the occurrence of every unique item like Item Name Count Bread 9 Milk 8 Coffee 7 Juice 6 and from that i want an a fp-tree now by traversing this tree i want the maximal frequent itemsets as follows The basic idea of method is to dispose nodes in each “layer” from bottom to up. The concept of “layer” is different to the common concept of layer in a tree. Nodes in a “layer” mean the nodes correspond to the same item and be in a linked list from the “Head Table”. For nodes in a “layer” NBN method will be used to dispose the nodes from left to right along the linked list. To use NBN method, two extra fields will be added to each node in the ordered FP-Tree. The field tag of node N stores the information of whether N is maximal frequent itemset, and the field count’ stores the support count information in the nodes at left. In Figure, the first node to be disposed is “juice: 2”. If the min_sup is equal to or less than 2 then “bread, milk, coffee, juice” is a maximal frequent itemset. Firstly output juice:2 and set the field tag of “coffee:3” as “false” (the field tag of each node is “true” initially ). Next check whether the right four itemsets juice:1 be the subset of juice:2. If the itemset one node “juice:1” corresponding to is the subset of juice:2 set the field tag of the node “false”. In the following process when the field tag of the disposed node is FALSE we can omit the node after the same tagging. If the min_sup is more than 2 then check whether the right four juice:1 is the subset of juice:2. If the itemset one node “juice:1” corresponding to is the subset of juice:2 then set the field count’ of the node with the sum of the former count’ and 2 After all the nodes “juice” disposed ,begin to dispose the node “coffee:3”.   • Issue with JSON and jQuery

    I'm calling a web service and returning the following data in JSON format: ["OrderNumber":"12345","CustomerId":"555"] In my web service success method, I'm trying to parse both: $.ajax({ type: "POST", url: "MyService.asmx/ServiceName", data: "{}", contentType: "application/json; charset=utf-8", dataType: "json", success: function(msg) { var data = msg.d; var rtn = ""; $.each(data, function(list) { rtn = rtn + this.OrderNumber + ", " + this.CustomerId + "<br/>"; } rtn = rtn + "<br/>" + data; $("#test").html(rtn); } }); but I'm getting a bunch of "undefined, undefined" rows followed by the correct JSON string. Any idea why? I've tried using the eval() method but that didn't help as I got some error message talking about ']' being expected.

  • Are there macro facility for Java or C#?

    Macros are useful. Therefore, I occasionally bemoan the absence of macros in Java and C#. Macros allow me to force in-line but allow me the code-manageability of non-macro code. Is there any Java- or C#-based project/product somewhere out there that effectively allow macros or specifying in-line expansion. I am thinking of something like @macro public void hello(int x){ ... } or when I call a method, an @inline annotation preceding the call would effect the called-method to be in-lined. or, should I need to know that I should just trust the compiler to make the best the decision for me that at the best of its analysis it might in-line a call. I hope this question will not lead to debating the pro/cons/usefulness of macros.

  • Why do socket.makefile objects fail after the first read for UDP sockets?

    I'm using the socket.makefile method to create a file-like object on a UDP socket for the purposes of reading. When I receive a UDP packet, I can read the entire contents of the packet all at once by using the read method, but if I try to split it up into multiple reads, my program hangs. Here's a program which demonstrates this problem: import socket from sys import argv SERVER_ADDR = ("localhost", 12345) sock = socket.socket(socket.AF_INET, socket.SOCK_DGRAM) sock.setsockopt(socket.SOL_SOCKET, socket.SO_REUSEADDR, 1) sock.bind(SERVER_ADDR) f = sock.makefile("rb") sock.sendto("HelloWorld", SERVER_ADDR) if "--all" in argv: print f.read(10) else: print f.read(5) print f.read(5) If I run the above program with the --all option, then it works perfectly and prints HelloWorld. If I run it without that option, it prints Hello and then hangs on the second read. I do not have this problem with socket.makefile objects when using TCP sockets. Why is this happening and what can I do to stop it?

  • IPhone XCode programming: view called from a navigation view doesn't set its IBOutlet attributes

    I created a view Called ProgrammaView that appears when a row of a table is clicked. This view has a UILabel, a UIImageView and a UITextView. Now. ProgrammaView's Outlets have to be changed by the parameter passed to a method of the view called iniz. in this image there is first the ProgrammaView.h and then the method iniz. The problem is that the label and other stuff doesn't change! I checked 3 million times that everything between the xib file and the controller is linked. The trick to call iniz in the other viewcontrollers works well in other part of the program so i think is not that the problem. Thank you in advance!

  • WriteableBitmap in .NET 4

    Hi there, I have got a problem: I would like to use a method Render() for WriteableBitmap object. However, as I noticed, the method is not available without using a Silverlight assembly System.Windows.dll. I need to use RenderTargetBitmap in my project (PresentationCore assembly for standard .net). Here is the problem - there are definitions of some classes in both assemblies, thus they are in conflict. Basically, I need to add some stuff to Bgra32 bitmap. However, RenderTargetBitmap works only with Pbgra32 ones. I found that using WriteableBitmap to render would be nice. Maybe I am wrong? Do you have any ideas? Thank you in advance for the reply!   • Different NSTimeZone names being returned

    I've noticed that on some devices the NSTimeZone's name method for a particular timezone can return different values. When testing the Brisbane time zone, my device returns @"Australia/Brisbane" whereas another user's device returns "Etc/GMT-10". Both iPhone's are running 3.1.2. The Date and Time Programming Guide for Cocoa states that: timeZoneWithName: The name passed to this method may be in any of the formats understood by the system, for example EST, Etc/GMT-2, America/Argentina/Buenos_Aires, Europe/Monaco, or US/Pacific, as shown in the following code fragment. I'd just like to know what could determine which value is used? The device? The language?

I can see from the server log files that the script does not arrive on the Project page. I am new to webrat and quite new to ruby and I am now thoroughly confused. I have no idea why the response.body is gone. I have no idea where I am. I speculated that I had to wait for the page request, but all documentation says that webrat nicely waits till all redirects, pageloads, etc are finished. (At least I think I read that). Besides I find no method to wait for the page in the webrat API. Can someone give some tips on how to proceed with debugging this?

  • Difference between "traditional" COM and COM+ (in Component Services)

    By the "traditional" way I mean registering the DLL in registry. There seems to be another method to set up it by going to mmc-Component Services-COM+ Applications and adding the .tlb file. I have a COM library that supports both methods. When it installs, it registers itself in the registry as a COM component and it works fine. However, when I added the .tlb file using the Component Services method, the behavior seems to be different and it starts giving out errors. I suspect it has something to do with marshaling and inter-process object transfer? (Sorry, I'm really a noob in the COM area) Can anyone point me to a good resource to clear my understanding?

  • PostSharp OnExceptionAspect not working as expected

    Created a simple class to test out the OnExceptionAspect in PostSharp. [Serializable] [AttributeUsage(AttributeTargets.Method | AttributeTargets.Class)] public class ExceptionSwallower : OnExceptionAspect { public override void OnException(MethodExecutionEventArgs eventArgs) { eventArgs.FlowBehavior = FlowBehavior.Return; base.OnException(eventArgs); } } Added the attribute to a method [ExceptionSwallower] public void SomeMethod() { throw new Exception(); } and invoked it. However, the exception is not actually swallowed, which seems odd. I haven't been able to find any similar problems, so I expect there is some minor thing I haven't gotten right. Anyone?
