  • How to control Time zone formatting in System.Xml.Serialization or during application execution?

    I'm developing a C# .Net Application that is executing on a system located in the Central Time Zone. The application gets information from a third party using an API they provide. I have used the WSDL to produce the code that my application access the API with...their reporting API allows you to define a start date and end date for the report. These are C# DateTime fields and XSD:dateTime. Now when I set the start date and end dates and allow the API to create the SOAP messages the dates don't always include a Time Zone unless I set the date fields using the ToLocalTime method; however, the method will create the DateTime fields in the Central Time Zone (CST) but I need to have it create these fields in the Pacific Time Zone (PST). If I set my machine time to PST all is good...but of course that causes other time issues. What methods can I use to control the formatting of the DateTime? Alternatively, is there a application setting that can be set in C# that allows timezone control?

    I am implementing an android application that will verify signature images , decided to go with the Discrete wavelet transform method (symmlet-8) the method requires to apply the discrete wavelet transform and separate the image using low-pass and high-pass filter and retrieve the wavelet transform coefficients. the equations show notations that I cant understand thus can't do the math easily , also didn't know how to apply low-pass and high-pass filters to my x and y points. is there any tutorial that shows you how to apply the discrete wavelet transform to my image easily that breaks it out in numbers? thanks alot in advance.

  • Django-allauth redirected to connections

  • Returning partial address matches and mismatch position using L2S or SQL

    I need to implement a method that takes an address split up into individual parts and returns any matching items from an address table. If no matches are found, I want to be able to return a value indicating where it failed. Each input param has a corresponding field in the table. The signature would look something like this: List<Address> MatchAddress(string zipCode, string streetName, string houseNumber, string houseLetter, string floor, string appartmentNo, out int mismatchPosition) { // return matching addresses // if none found, return the position where it stopped matching // zipCode is position 0, appartmentNo is position 5 // // an empty param value indicates "don't check" } I know I can construct the method such that I start with all the parameters, execute the query and then remove param by param (from the right side) until either a match is found or I run out of parameters, but can I construct a query that is more effective than that, i.e minimizing the number of calls to the db, maybe even as a single call?

  • Code editor with autocomplete

    I need to create a code editor for my own simple language: className.MethodName(parameterName = 2, ... ) I've created the appropriate grammar and autogenerate parser using ANTLR tool. Now I would like to have an autocomplete for class, method, variables and parameter names. This list should be context dependent, f.e. for "class." it should display methods and for "class.Method(" - parameters. I was going to parse the text and display the list depending on in which node the cursor is. The problem is that for incomplete code like "aaa.bbb(" the parser produces an error instead of a syntax tree. Any idea how to solve this problem? Maybe I'm on the wrong way and I shouldn't parse code to display autocomplete?

  • UITableView via NSFetchedResultsControllerDelegate, select first record by default?

    I have a UITableView that gets populated from CoreData via a controller that implements NSFetchedResultsControllerDelegate. How can I have it automatically select the first row (and fire the tableView:didSelectRowAtIndexPath message)? The tableview is used for a variety of predicate queries, so I'm suspicious of solutions that work on the UIViewController lifecycle (viewDidLoad, etc), but I'm new to the platform, so I'm open. I've tried a variety of things, but I'm not sure where in the call stack to put it. I've tried calling cell.selected = true inside tableView:cellForRowAtIndex: method, but that just ends up turning the cell black (and doesn't fire the selected callback method) A tagent question, with all the delegating and core data protocols, does it imply asynchronous data fetch (multiple threads)? Or is the NSFetchedResultsController calling all its related methods in the same thread? Maybe I'm just scared that if it is async, there would be race conditions that would be tough to troubleshoot later.

    Hi I have a web application running in cluster mode with a load balancer. It consists in two tomcats (T1, and T2) addressing only one DB. T2 is nfs mounted to T1. This is the only dofference between both nodes. I have a java method generating some files. If the request runs on T1 there is no problem but if the request is running on node 2 I get an exception as follows: java.io.IOException: Invalid argument at java.io.FileOutputStream.close0(Native Method) at java.io.FileOutputStream.close(FileOutputStream.java:279) The corresponding code is as follows: for (int i = 0; i < dataFileList.size(); i++) { outputFileName = outputFolder + fileNameList.get(i); FileOutputStream fileOut = new FileOutputStream(outputFileName); fileOut.write(dataFileList.get(i), 0, dataFileList.get(i).length); fileOut.flush(); fileOut.close(); } The exception appears at the fileOut.close() Any hint?     I'm trying out the Highcharts jQuery plugin for creating charts of data in an MVC application. But I need to get the data for the function dynamically from an Action Method. How can I do that?     I have the following form on an .NET MVC View: <form method="post" enctype="multipart/form-data" action="/Video/UploadDocument"> <input type="file" id="document1" name="document1"/> <input type="submit" value="Save"/> </form> And the controller has the following signature that gets called: public ActionResult UploadDocument(HttpPostedFileBase file) { return View(); } When I break inside the UploadDocument method, the parameter 'file' is null. I've selected a valid document on my desktop and know it contains text. What am I missing to get this file upload working?

    I have a WinForms multiselect listbox, and each item in the listbox is of type MyClass. I am also writing a method that needs to take a parameter that is a collection of MyClass. It could be of type MyClass[], List<MyClass>, IList<MyClass>, IEnumerable<MyClass>, etc. Any of those would work fine. Somehow, I need to pass the selected items in the listbox to my method. But how would I convert SelectedObjectCollection to any of the MyClass collection types described above?

  • seg fault caused by malloc and sscanf in a function

    Hi, I want to open a text file (see below), read the first int in every line and store it in an array, but I get an segmentation fault. I got rid of all gcc warnings, I read through several tutorials I found on the net and searched stackoverflow for solutions, but I could't make out, what I am doing wrong. It works when I have everything in the main function (see example 1), but not when I transfer it to second function (see example 2 further down). In example 2 I get, when I interpret gdb correctly a seg fault at sscanf (line,"%i",classes[i]);. I'm afraid, it could be something trivial, but I already wasted one day on it. Thanks in advance.     Hi, I'm trying to integrate Sugar CRM with one of my projects. I'm using Apache Axis as my SOAP client. I've created the Sugar CRM client Stub classes using Apache Axis. I'm able to login and add Leads, Opportunities, Accounts and Contacts. But I'm unable to add a relation ship between my Account and Opportunity. I've found following method in the SugarsoapPortType port.set_relationship(session, module_name, module_id, link_field_name, related_ids, name_value_list, delete) but I cannot understand the different parameters required by this method.   • How do I improve the efficiency of the queries executed by this generic Linq-to-SQL data access clas

    Hi all, I have a class which provides generic access to LINQ to SQL entities, for example: class LinqProvider<T> //where T is a L2S entity class { DataContext context; public virtual IEnumerable<T> GetAll() { return context.GetTable<T>(); } public virtual T Single(Func<T, bool> condition) { return context.GetTable<T>().SingleOrDefault(condition); } } From the front end, both of these methods appear to work as you would expect. However, when I run a trace in SQL profiler, the Single method is executing what amounts to a SELECT * FROM [Table], and then returning the single entity that meets the given condition. Obviously this is inefficient, and is being caused by GetTable() returning all rows. My question is, how do I get the query executed by the Single() method to take the form SELECT * FROM [Table] WHERE [condition], rather than selecting all rows then filtering out all but one? Is it possible in this context? Any help appreciated, Lee

    I'm trying to build a custom clock view in Android. See image http://twitpic.com/1devk7 So far to draw the time and hour markers I have been using the Canvas.rotate method to get the desired effect. However, notice that it is difficult to interpret the numbers in the lower half of the clock (e.g. 6 or 9?) because of the angle in which they are drawn. When using drawText, is it possible to draw the text at 45/90/180 degrees so that all text appears upright when my onDraw method has finished?

    So I have something like the following in Java: private List<SomeType>variable; // ....variable is instantiated as so ... variable = new ArrayList<SomeType>(); // there's also a getter public List<SomeType> getVariable() { /* code */ } What I would like to be able to do is figure out that variable is a collection of SomeType programmatically. I read here that I can determine that from the method getVariable() but is there any way to tell directly from variable? I have been able to retrieve SomeType from the getter method based on the information in the link. I have also been successful in retrieving all the fields of the surrounding class via SurroundingClass.getClass().getDeclaredFields() but this doesn't tell me that it is List<SomeType>.

    I need to take all the values in an excel file to a temporary/physical table in SQL Server 2005. I don't need the Import export method. I tried the following linked server method: SELECT * INTO db1.dbo.table1 FROM OPENROWSET('Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0', 'Driver={Microsoft Excel Driver (*.xls)};DBQ=c:\renju.xls', 'SELECT * FROM [sheet1$]') But it is returing an error as: OLE DB provider "Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0" for linked server "(null)" returned message "Could not find installable ISAM.". I'm using Excel 2003, and I've already added the linked server for "Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0."

  • Can't get NSDate to work correctly

    Hello, having a strange issue, must be something I'm just not seeing. I set up a variable in the .h NSDate *checkIn; @property (nonatomic, retain) NSDate *checkIn; I'm setting a variable to todays date in the initWithNibName: checkIn = [NSDate date]; I also did synthesized it as well. Now later on in my program I use it to build a tablecell with the following line cell.textLabel.text = [dateFormatter stringFromDate:checkIn]; This line kills the simulator, BAD_EXEC. If I put in a checkIn = [NSDate date]; above it, it works fine. So I'm thinking the variable isn't being stored from when I set it in the initWithNibName: Not sure why though, as my strings I do the same way are all working fine from method to method. What am I missing?
