  • How can I serialize the values of checked checkboxes in an iFrame into a hidden form field on clicki

    - by Frank Bailey
I have an iFrame like so: <iframe width="100%" frameborder="0" height="470" allowtransparency="true" name="productframe" id="productframe" style="border-bottom:1px solid #eee"></iframe> The iframe contains several line items drawn from a sql server db, and I can check any of the checkboxes I want to perform a task with - in this case delete them. I have a button in the parent document that says "Delete selected", and I'd like to be able to click this button and populate a hidden field in my parent page with the values of the selected checkboxes in the child iframe. My checkboxes look like this: <input id="Checkbox1" type="checkbox" value="47" title="Select this row" name="selectItem"/> I have an instance of jquery on my parent page so I can make use of jquery selectors, I just have no clue as to the syntax needed to do this. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me on this.

  • mysql filtering result using left outer join

    - by user288178
my query: SELECT content.*, activity_log.content_id FROM content LEFT JOIN activity_log ON content.id = activity_log.content_id AND sess_id = '$sess_id' WHERE activity_log.content_id IS NULL AND visibility = $visibility AND content.reported < ".REPORTED_LIMIT." AND content.file_ready = 1 LIMIT 1 The purpose of that query is to get 1 row from the content table that has not been viewed by the user (identified by session_id), but it still returns contents that have been viewed. What is wrong? ( I have checked the table making sure that the content_ids are there) Note: I think this is more efficient than using subqueries, thoughts?

  • Is it dangerous to store user-enterable text into a hidden form via javascript?

    - by KallDrexx
In my asp.net MVC application I am using in place editors to allow users to edit fields without having a standard form view. Unfortunately, since I am using Linq to Sql combined with my data mapping layer I cannot just update one field at a time and instead need to send all fields over at once. So the solution I came up with was to store all my model fields into hidden fields, and provide span tags that contain the visible data (these span tags become editable due to my jquery plugin). When a user triggers a save of their edits of a field, jquery then takes their value and places it in the hidden form, and sends the whole form to the server to commit via ajax. When the data goes into the hidden field originally (page load) and into the span tags the data is properly encoded, but upon the user changing the data in the contenteditable span field, I just run $("#hiddenfield").val($("#spanfield").html(); Am I opening any holes this method? Obviously the server also properly encodes stuff prior to database entry.

  • nivo slider and drop down menu doesnt work in IE

    Does anyone has any idea why drop down menu in IE disappear under nivo slider? tried to play with z-index, didn't help, i also know that drop down menus dissappear under flash content, but this is not the case(wmode=transparent) as far as i know the nivo slider uses just jquery, no flash. here is the html: <table> <tr height="50"><td colspan="2" align="right" class="bottom_menu"> <ul id="nav" class="dropdown dropdown-horizontal" > <li><a href="/index.cfm?fuseaction=home.logout" class="dir" style="border:0 !important;" >Çikis</a></li> <li><a href="/index.cfm?fuseaction=objects2.list_basket" class="dir">Sepetim</a></li> <li><a href="/index.cfm?fuseaction=objects2.me" class="dir">Sirketim</a> <ul> <li><a href="/index.cfm?fuseaction=objects2.list_opportunities">Firsatlar</a></li> <li><a href="/index.cfm?fuseaction=objects2.form_add_partner">Sirkete Kullanici Ekle</a></li> <li><a href="/index.cfm?fuseaction=objects2.form_upd_my_company">Kullanici Yönetimi</a></li> <li><a href="/index.cfm?fuseaction=objects2.list_analyses">Analizler</a></li> <li><a href="/index.cfm?fuseaction=objects2.list_extre">Hesap Ekstresi</a></li> <li><a href="/index.cfm?fuseaction=objects2.popup_add_online_pos" target="_blank">Sanal Pos</a></li> </ul> </li> </ul> </td></tr> </table> <div id="banner"> <img src="/documents/templates/projedepo/l_top.gif" style="z-index:1;position:absolute; left:0; top:0;" width="24px" height="24px" border="0" /> <img src="/documents/templates/projedepo/r_top.gif" style="z-index:1;position:absolute; right:0; top:0;" width="24px" height="24px" border="0" /> <img src="/documents/templates/projedepo/l_bottom.gif" style="z-index:1;position:absolute; left:0; bottom:0;" width="24px" height="24px" border="0" /> <img src="/documents/templates/projedepo/r_bottom.gif" style="z-index:1;position:absolute; right:0; bottom:0;" width="24px" height="24px" border="0" /> <div class="banner_img"> <link rel="stylesheet" href="/documents/templates/projedepo/banner/nivo-slider.css" type="text/css" media="screen" /> <link rel="stylesheet" href="/documents/templates/projedepo/banner/style.css" type="text/css" media="screen" /> <div id="slider" class="nivoSlider"> <img title="#1" src="/documents/templates/projedepo/banner/canon.jpg" alt="" /> <img title="#2" src="/documents/templates/projedepo/banner/indigovision.jpg" alt="" /> </div> <div id="1" class="nivo-html-caption"> <a href="/index.cfm?fuseaction=objects2.detail_product&product_id=612&stock_id=612"><img src="/documents/templates/projedepo/banner/daha_fazlasi.jpg" border="0" /></a> </div> <div id="2" class="nivo-html-caption"> <a href="/index.cfm?fuseaction=objects2.detail_product&product_id=630&stock_id=630"><img src="/documents/templates/projedepo/banner/daha_fazlasi.jpg" border="0" /></a> </div> <script type="text/javascript" src="/JS/jquery.nivo.slider.pack.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> $(window).load(function() { $('#slider').nivoSlider({ effect:'random', //Specify sets like: 'fold,fade,sliceDown' slices:15, animSpeed:1000, //Slide transition speed pauseTime:10000, startSlide:0, //Set starting Slide (0 index) directionNav:true, //Next & Prev directionNavHide:true, //Only show on hover controlNav:true, //1,2,3... controlNavThumbs:false, //Use thumbnails for Control Nav controlNavThumbsFromRel:false, //Use image rel for thumbs controlNavThumbsSearch: '.jpg', //Replace this with... controlNavThumbsReplace: '_thumb.jpg', //...this in thumb Image src keyboardNav:true, //Use left & right arrows pauseOnHover:true, //Stop animation while hovering manualAdvance:false, //Force manual transitions captionOpacity:1.0, //Universal caption opacity beforeChange: function(){}, afterChange: function(){}, slideshowEnd: function(){}, //Triggers after all slides have been shown lastSlide: function(){}, //Triggers when last slide is shown afterLoad: function(){} //Triggers when slider has loaded }); }); </script> </div> </div> Here is css for dropdown menu: http://www.micae.com/documents/templates/projedepo/default.css http://www.micae.com/documents/templates/projedepo/default.advanced.css http://www.micae.com/documents/templates/projedepo/dropdown.css and for nivo slider: http://www.micae.com/documents/templates/projedepo/banner/style.css http://www.micae.com/documents/templates/projedepo/banner/nivo-slider.css and for banner divs: #banner { position:relative; width:980px; height:435px; background:#fff; margin-bottom:20px; margin-top:-1px; color:#000; z-index:60; } .banner_img { padding:8px;position:absolute;z-index:2; } and the javascript by default, jquery and nivo slider http://www.micae.com/JS/jquery.nivo.slider.pack.js

  • How to find what ActiveX control is referred on a web page?

    - by Sly
I have developed a web application (ASP.NET Web Forms). One of my customer has very restrictive policies. When he accesses the web page, IE shows this message: Your security settings do not allow Web sites to use ActiveX controls installed on your computer. This page may not display correctly. As far as I know, we don't use ActiveX controls on our page. I did a "View Souce" and did not find anything suspect. How can I find what part of my page refers to an ActiveX. The application uses jQuery and a few jQuery plug-ins. Is there a tool/add-in like "Fire Bug" that I can use to list the ActiveX controls referred on a page?

  • Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'length' of undefined

I'm working to built a contact list that is grouped by the first letter of the contact's last name. After a succesfull ajax request, the contact is pushed to addContact: Ajax success: ko.utils.arrayForEach(dataJS.contactList, function(c) { contactsModel.addContact(c); }); contactsModel.addContact: //add a contact in the right spot under the right letter contactsModel.addContact = function(newContact) { //grab first character var firstLetter = (newContact.lname || "").charAt(0).toUpperCase(); //if it is a number use # if (!isNaN(firstLetter)) { firstLetter = "#"; } //do we already have entries for this letter if (!this.letterIndex[firstLetter]) { //new object to track this letter's contacts var letterContacts = { letter: firstLetter, contacts: ko.observableArray([]) }; this.letterIndex[firstLetter] = letterContacts; //easy access to it //put the numbers at the end if (firstLetter === "#") { this.contactsByLetter.push(letterContacts); } else { //add the letter in the right spot for (var i = 0, lettersLength = this.contactsByLetter().length; i < lettersLength; i++) { var letter = this.contactsByLetter()[i].letter; if (letter === "#" || firstLetter < letter) { break; } } this.contactsByLetter.splice(i, 0, letterContacts); } } var contacts = this.letterIndex[firstLetter].contacts; //now we have a letter to add our contact to, but need to add it in the right spot var newContactName = newContact.lname + " " + newContact.fname; for (var j = 0, contactsLength = contacts().length; j < contactsLength; j++) { var contactName = contacts()[j].lName + " " + contacts()[j].fName; if (newContactName < contactName) { break; } } //add the contact at the right index contacts.splice(j, 0, newContact); }.bind(contactsModel); The contacts json object from the server looks like this: { "total_pages": 10, "page": page, "contactList": [{ "photo": "http://homepage.mac.com/millhouse/Family%20Tree/images/PersonListIcon.png", "lname": "Bond", "id": 241, "fname": "James", "email": "[email protected]"}, While this works in jsfiddle, when I try it locally, I get the following error during the first push to addContact: Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'length' of undefined jQuery.jQuery.extend._Deferred.deferred.resolveWithjquery-1.5.1.js:869 donejquery-1.5.1.js:6591 jQuery.ajaxTransport.send.callbackjquery-1.5.1.js:7382 Ideas? • What's the best way to apply a drop shadow?

    - by jckeyes
What is the best method for applying drop shadows? I'm working on a site right now where we have a good deal of them, however, I've been fighting to find the best method to do it. The site is pretty animation heavy so shadows need to work well with this. I tried a jQuery shadow pulgin. The shadows looked good and were easy to use but were slow and didn't work well with any animations (required lots of redrawing, very joggy). I also tried creating my own jQuery extension that wraps my element in a couple gray divs and then offsets them a little bit to give a shadow effect. This worked well. It's quick and responsive to the animation. However, it makes DOM manipulation/traversal cumbersome since everything is wrapped in these shadow divs. I know there has to be a better way but this isn't exactly my forte. Thoughts?

  • Detach subdirectory into separate Git repository

    - by matli
I have a Git repository which contains a number of subdirectories. Now I have found that one of the subdirectories is unrelated to the other and should be detached to a separate repository. How can I do this while keeping the history of the files within the subdirectory? I guess I could make a clone and remove the unwanted parts of each clone, but I suppose this would give me the complete tree when checking out an older revision etc. This might be acceptable, but I would prefer to be able to pretend that the two repositories doesn't have a shared history. Just to make it clear, I have the following structure: XYZ/ .git/ XY1/ ABC/ XY2/ But I would like this instead: XYZ/ .git/ XY1/ XY2/ ABC/ .git/

  • AJAX CascadingDropdown - Setting the selected index

    - by RPM1984
I have a CascadingDropDown on an ASP.NET page. Now, the prompt text is "Select State". (list of states). However, on a different version of this page (ie querystring), i might want to set the selected index to "California" for example. How can i do this? The web service used by the ajax control (ie GetStates) gets invoked at the same time the jquery document.ready function is triggered (ie asynchronously). So when i try and set the selected index in jquery, the items are not yet bound. Is there a way to attach a handler to the ajax dropdown so that i can set the selected index once the webservice call has completed, and the items are bound?

  • fieldset form with Table-like layout with CSS?

    - by Scott B
I have an application in which I'm currently using a two column table in order to get accurate cell alignment of the left column labels/descriptions with the right column form fields. I'd like to convert it to css and use jQuery to expand/collapse specific sections. I've seen some jQuery libraries, the menu.js in particular. And they appear to all use list items for the markup. I'm OK with converting my table to UL/LI structure if that's what I need to do. Just looking for some advice.

  • Ajax method call

    - by LooDaFunk
Hi, I am trying to call a simple method in my code behind using Jquery with Ajax. But I get a 404 not found exception everytime. Unfortunately this is a web forms solution. So I dont have all the perks of MVC :( It does get into the javascript method and gives the alert but won't go into my c# method. My previous experience of using this Jquery method is in an MVC website. Is it compatible with webforms sites? Here is the code: http://pastebin.com/Xdey4XTS Thanks Merry Christmas!

  • different small js files per page VS. 1x site-wide js file?

    - by Haroldo
Different pages of my site have different js needs (plugins mainly), some need a lightbox, some dont, some need a carousel, some dont etc. With regards to pageloading speed should i option 1 - reference each js file when it is needed: so one page might have: <script type="text/javascript" src="js/carousel/scrollable.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="js/jquery.easydrag.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="js/colorbox/jquery.colorbox-min.js"></script> and another have: <script type="text/javascript" src="st_wd_assets/js/carousel/scrollable.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="st_wd_assets/js/typewatch.js"></script> option 2 - combine and compress into one site_wide.js file: so each page would reference: <script type="text/javascript" src="js/site_wide.js"></script> there would be unused selectors/event listeners though, how bad is this? I would include any plugin notes/accreditations at the top of the site_wide.js file

  • Shadowbox not working in IE

    - by kielie
Hi guys, I have a bit of a problem with my shadowbox, it works fine in FF, but it refuses to work in IE 7 or 8. I am using these scripts, <script type="text/javascript" src="scripts/jquery-1.4.2.js"</script> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="scripts/shadowbox/shadowbox.css"> <script type="text/javascript" src="scripts/shadowbox/shadowbox.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> Shadowbox.init(); </script> and I am also using this jQuery to assign the rel attribute to all the a tags inside of my calendar, and it works fine in FF, but not at all in IE. $(function() { $('#wp-calendar').find('a').each( function() { $(this).attr( 'rel', 'shadowbox[Mixed];width=520;height=390'); }); }); but for some reason it just refuses to work in any IE. I really am at the end of my rope here, any help would be appreciated, thanx!

  • Display data requested by an ajax.load() call once complete, not during the call.

    - by niczoom
My jQuery code (using ajax) request's data from a php script (pgiproxy.php) using the following function: function grabPage($pageURL) { $homepage = file_get_contents($pageURL); echo $homepage; } I then extract the html code i need from the returned data using jQuery and insert it into a div called #BFX, as follows: $("#btnNewLoadMethod1").click(function(){ $('#temp1').load('pgiproxy.php', { data : $("#formdata").serialize(), mode : "graph"} , function() { $('#temp').html( $('#temp1').find('center').html() ); $('#BFX').html( $('#temp').html() ); }); }); This works fine. I get the html data (which is a gif image) i need displayed on screen in the correct div. The problem is i can see the html data loading into the div (dependant on network speed), but what I want is to insert the extracted html code into #BFX ONLY when the ajax request has fully completed.

  • DNS Lookup in simple C#/asp.net ajax call is extremely slow

    - by Ryan
I'm running this out of the VS 2008 debugger on Windows 7, running .Net 3.5. The idea was to make all ajax requests with jQuery only, rather than .net, following some tutorials online. Default.aspx - HTML page, jquery triggers method in Default.aspx.cs http://pastebin.com/pxBvKA2H Default.aspx.cs - C# Webform, just defines a GetDate fuction, which only returns a string for now (trying to eliminate any possible issues) (can only post one hyperlink...) pastebin.com/pnHn50hu The ajax query takes longer than it should. Profiling with firebug revealed that it took 1.03 ms. 1s DNS Lookup | 26ms Waiting | 1ms Receiving EDIT: It continues to take the same set of times if you continue to click and resubmit the request. Is there anything I can do to cut down on the DNS Lookup time / what did I do wrong? Thanks for any help.

  • query structure - ignoring entries for the same event from multiple users?

    - by Andrew Heath
One table in my MySQL database tracks game plays. It has the following structure: SCENARIO_VICTORIES [ID] [scenario_id] [game] [timestamp] [user_id] [winning_side] [play_date] ID is the autoincremented primary key. timestamp records the moment of submission for the record. winning_side has one of three possible values: 1, 2, or 0 (meaning a draw) One of the queries done on this table calculates the victory percentage for each scenario, when that scenario's page is viewed. The output is expressed as: Side 1 win % Side 2 win % Draw % and queried with: SELECT winning_side, COUNT(scenario_id) FROM scenario_victories WHERE scenario_id='$scenID' GROUP BY winning_side ORDER BY winning_side ASC and then processed into the percentages and such. Sorry for the long setup. My problem is this: several of my users play each other, and record their mutual results. So these battles are being doubly represented in the victory percentages and result counts. Though this happens infrequently, the userbase isn't large and the double entries do have a noticeable effect on the data. Given the table and query above - does anyone have any suggestions for how I can "collapse" records that have the same play_date & game & scenario_id & winning_side so that they're only counted once?

  • Internet explore is unresponsive while loading a large page

    - by kdhamane
We have a html page being rendered in the browser (IE) that causes the browser to hang. The page is generated through server side script (ASP.NET and viewstate is disabled). The page while loading takes a long time (its not a b\w issue since we can reproduce it on local machine) and sometimes results in script unresponsive error. On debugging the issue we found that the html size on the client side is 4.73 MB. There's also a lot of DOM traversal (using JQuery) after document is ready (jquery-document.ready). After loading as well, the page simply hangs on any user interaction (scroll, mouseover) etc. A CPU usage spike (25-50% usage) is seen during loading and on any user interaction

  • adding numeric values of variable number of forms

    - by user306472
    I'm trying to use jquery to loop through a block of forms that contain numeric data and add it all up to be displayed in a form with id grand. I have the ability to dynamically add new forms, so the number of forms I'm looping through will change. Here's my jquery code I wrote that isn't working for whatever reason: $('#table').delegate('input#grand', 'focus', function(){ var grand = $(input.expend).map(function(){ return this.value; }); $(grand).each(function(){ var g = 0; g+= $(this); $('input#grand').val(g); }); });
