• Fields_for dynamic label

  I have dynamic form which has a set of values. I created a partial which contains text fields which I display. Next to each of them I would like to display a label containing the title of the text. For instance First Name, and Last Name would not be known previously. How do I go about doing that? It seems that I cannot access the attributes directly. But when I use the label field, the variable name in the label is displayed not the actual value.

All other variables seem to print fine in the HTML ouput; but I get an error that relates to the cputype variable. • openvpn: after changing to server mode, client does not create TUN device

  i had a previously working configuration with the config files used in a previous question However, i've changed this now to the following configuration using server mode, everything on the logs seem fine, however the client doesn't create any tun interface, so i don't have anything to connect to, presumably, i need to add or push some route commands, but i don't have any idea at this point what i need to do.   I am designing a WIX 3.6 installer project, during the installation we need to grand the user create file permission to the install folder(INSTALLDIR, especially with the default install folder, the Program Files, the user normally can't create file in the installation. We've experienced some failures). I guess it can be achieved by setting a Permission element, with CreateFile property. However, the INSTALLDIR is a directory, and only such elements as CreateFolder, File, FileShare, Registry, ServiceInstall can have permission element. So could anyone tell me how to do that? • Excel tab sheet names vs. Visual Basic sheet names

  It seems that Visual Basic can not reference sheets according to user-modified sheet names. The worksheet tabs can have their names changed, but it seems that Visual Basic still thinks of the worksheet names as Sheet1, etc., despite the workbook tab having been changed to something useful. I have this: TABname = rng.Worksheet.Name ' Excel sheet TAB name, not VSB Sheetx name. Thanks, Bill Gates. but I would like to use sheet names in Visual Basic routines. The best I could come up so far is to Select Case the Worksheet Tab vs. Visual Basic names, which doesn't make my day. Visual Basic must know the Sheet1, Sheet2, etc., names.   I have several sql queries that I simply want to fire at the database. I am using hibernate throughout the whole application, so i would prefer to use hibernate to call this sql queries. In the example below i want to get count + name, but cant figure out how to get that info when i use createSQLQuery(). I have seen workarounds where people only need to get out a single "count()" from the result, but in this case I am using count() + a column as ouput SELECT count(*), a.name as count FROM user a WHERE a.user_id IN (SELECT b.user_id FROM user b) GROUP BY a.name HAVING COUNT(*) BETWEEN 2 AND 5; fyi, the above query would deliver a result like this if i call it directly on the database: 1, John 2, Donald 1, Ralph ...

• Why is my WCF RIA Services custom object deserializing with an extra list member?

  I have been developing a Silverlight WCF RIA Services application dealing with mock financial transactions. To more efficiently send summary data to the client without going overboard with serialized entities I have created a summary class that isn’t in my EDM, and figured out how to serialize and send it over the wire to the SL client using DataContract() and DataMember(). Everything seemed to be working out great, until I tried to bind controls to a list inside my custom object. The list seems to always get deserialized with an extra, almost empty entity in it that I don’t know how to get rid of. So, here are some of the pieces. Does it have anything to do with the other list of Transaction entities being serialized as part of the EconomicsSummary class (TotalAccountHistory)? Do I need to decorate the EconomicsSummary class members a little more/differently? -Second, where are the peculiar values coming from on that extra entity? PRE-POSTING UPDATE 1: I did a little checking, it looks like that last entry is the first one in the TotalAccountHistory list. Do I need to do something with CollectionDataContract()? PRE-POSTING UPDATE 2: I fixed one bug in TotalAccountHistory, since the objects weren’t coming from the database their keys weren’t unique. So I set the keys on the Transaction entities inside TotalAccountHistory to be unique and guess what? Now, after deserialization RecentTransactions contains all its original items, plus every item in TotalAccountHistory. I’m pretty sure this has to do with the deserializer getting confused by two collections of the same type. But I don’t yet know how to resolve it…

  There is a default submit button for the @FileUpload.GetHtml. But I am expecting to have a submit button inside the Html begin form and use that substitution to submit the list of files with some more parameters. But when I do that the passing IEnumerable is always null in the Action method.   Hey guys/gals! I had a question for you, something that I can't seem to find the solution for... Basically, I have a model called Environment, and I am passing all of them to a view, and there are particular environments that I would like to exclude. Now, I know there is a exclude function on a queryset, but I can't seem to figure out how to use it for multiple options... For example, I tried this but it didn't work: kwargs = {"name": "env1", "name": "env2"} envs = Environment.objects.exclude( kwards ) But the only thing that it will exclude is the last "name" value in the list of kwargs. I understand why it does that now, but I still can't seem to exclude multiple objects with one command. Any help is much appreciated! Shawn

• Android: Filtering a SimpleCursorAdapter ListView

  Right now, I'm running into issues trying to implement a FilterQueryProvider in my custom SimpleCursorAdapter, since I'm unsure of what to do in the FilterQueryProvider's runQuery function. In other words, since the query that comprises my ListView basically gets the rowID, name, and a third column from my databases's table, I want to be able to filter the cursor based on the partial value of the name column. However, I am uncertain of whether I can do this directly from runQuery without expanding my DB class since I want to filter the existing cursor, or will I have to create a new query function in my DB class that partially searches my name column, and if so, how would I go about creating the query statement while using the CharSequence constraint argument in runQuery? I am also concerned about the performance issues associated with trying to run multiple queries based on partial text since the DB table in question has about 1300-1400 rows. In other words, would I run into a bottleneck trying to filter the cursor?

  I've been playing around with Unity to do some AOP stuff, setting up via IOC like: ioc.RegisterType<ICustomerService, CustomerService>() .Configure<Interception>().SetInterceptorFor<ICustomerService>(new InterfaceInterceptor()); ... and then having an ICallHandler on the ICustomerService interface's methods. For teh time being i want to just get the method called, the class it's in, and the namespace for that class. So... inside the... public IMethodReturn Invoke(IMethodInvocation input, GetNextHandlerDelegate getNext) ...method of the ICallHandler, i can access the method name via input.MethodBase.Name... if i use input.MethodBase.DeclaringType.Name i get the interface ICustomerService... BUT... how would i go about getting the implementing class "CustomerService" rather than the interface? I've been told to use input.Target.. but that just returns "DynamicModule.ns.Wrapped_ICustomerService_4f2242e5e00640ab84e4bc9e05ba0a13" Any help on this folks?

• Configuring VLAN's on two HP procurve switches

  Trying to route a new ISP (Microwave link) from one of my out buildings to my computer room and hence my firewall. Old ISP came direct into firewall. In the outbuilding the Microwave modem connects with cat5 to HP Procurve 2524 switch. Because this ISP is coming through my internal network, I plan on using a new vlan called "airspeed" only for this ISP traffic. Up until now I've just been using the Default_vlan on both HP switches (4108 + 2524). So far I've been unable to ping from my laptop to the ISP modem both of which are on the new vlan 2 ("Airspeed"). No traffic needs to cross from vlan 2 to vlan 1 so I've left the ports as untagged. I've used the subnet provide from my ISP as the new vlan 2 subnet. Can anybody see what I'm doing wrong here? I've added the configuration of both switch below. • Why isn't TextBox.Text in WPF animatable?

  Ok, I have just run into something that is really catching me off-guard. I was helping a fellow developer with a couple of unrelated questions and in his project he was animating text into some TextBlock(s). So, I went back to my desk and recreated the project (in order to answer his questions), but I accidentally used TextBox instead of TextBlock. My text wasn't animating at all! (A lot of help, I was!) Eventually, I figured out that his xaml was using TextBlock and mine was using TextBox. What is interesting, is that Blend wasn't creating key frames when I was using TextBox. So, I got it to work in Blend using TextBlock(s) and then modified the xaml by hand, converting the TextBlock(s) into TextBox(es). When I ran the project, I got the following error: InvalidOperationException: '(0)' Storyboard.TargetProperty path contains nonanimatable property 'Text'. Well, it seems as if Blend was smart enough to know that ... and not generate the key frames in the animation (it would just modify the value directly on the TextBox). +1 for Blend. So, the question became: why isn't TextBox.Text animatable? The usual answer is that the particular property you are animating isn't a DependencyProperty. But, this isn't the case, TextBox.Text is a DependencyProperty. So, now I am bewildered! Why can't you animate TextBox.Text? Let me include some xaml to illustrate the problem. • SQL Server 08 Express error when connecting to localhost - "Timeout expired". Works with ::1 or 127.0.0.1

  EDIT New info: Navigating to localhost:1434 in Chrome gives me an "ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE", while other ports give me an "Oops! This link appears to be broken". So it seems to binding ok there? So here's my setup so far: I've configured Windows Firewall to allow TCP on 1433 and UDP on 1434. I've set up SQL Server to use any IP on Port 1433 (using the SQL Server Configuration Manager). My hosts file contains the default entries ("127.0.0.1 localhost" and "::1 localhost"). I sometimes have a debug session of Visual Web Developer running a webserver, but it's on a specific port (localhost:5XXXX). What I've tried: I CAN ping localhost in a cmd prompt. I CAN connect to the database through SSMS if I specify 127.0.0.1 or ::1 as the server name. I CAN'T connect to the database through SSMS (or ADO.NET) if I specify localhost as the server name. I've tried both Windows and SQL Authentication The error I get is the standard Can't connect to localhost. Additional Information -- Timeout expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding. (Microsoft Sql Server) Other considerations: Stopping the Visual Web Developer web server from the taskbar doesn't affect the sql problem. The SQL error log says that it's listening on some piped name url at start up (I don't see how this would affect localhost but not 127.0.0.1 though). I could probably just use 127.0.0.1 everywhere, but it scares me that localhost isn't working and I'd like to figure out why. I'm not much of a networking or sql server guy so I'm stuck. If you want me to try anything to help diagnose just put it in a comment and I'll give it a go.   I got an image upload function working, but there's 4 images required in this image. And my current function is simply just overwriting the image despite the number. I'm wondering how I would insert (preferably) a letter into my foreach function. $uploads = array($this->uploads->data()); foreach ( $uploads as $key[] => $value ) { $imagename = $cleaned . '-s' . $value['file_ext']; //outputs clean-name-s.ext } By the time all is said and done, 4 images will require this function. Leaving me with clean-name-sa.ext, clean-name-sb.ext, clean-name-sc.ext, and clean-name-sd.ext (numbers work as well). The form does require that all 4 fields are filled out before submission, so would I just create an array of my desired identifiers and create a foreach loop that outputs 4 different $imagenames? Or is there a simpler, more logical approach to this.
