• Having Latest Tests Results info in the notified email with Hudson

  I have a project with a lot of tests failing, so it would be great for me to receive by email the number of failed tests compare from the latest build. What i need is just the info that appears in the project's page by the test results link: Latest Test Result (10 failures / -2) Is this possible? I've already tried the email-ext plugin, but it is not telling me that info (I can have the list of failing tests with output etc., but I really just need that info above). Any ideas?

• VB app to web service

  I know very little about web service but I assumed it would be the solution I was looking for. Basically I made an application in VB that I want to be ubiquitous for a lack of a better word. I need it to receive requests from multiple users and respond all at once. I was told "technically if you write a webservice you can provide as many results back to users as are connected." Maybe there is another solution for me that will give me the results I want. Here is an example of what I'm trying to do. Lets say I make an application in VB that does math. I now make a website. My website allows for a person to input 1 + 1 they click submit and my website then connects to my VB application running on my server listening for a request. It accepts the request from my website, and then it solves the math problem and returns the answer back to the website "1 + 1 = 2" That is only an example of the type of thing I need. My problem is that I can't have multiple people visiting my website all connecting to that same application running on my server so somehow I need the application to be where it can be accessed by multiple users. I was told a web service would be the answer but if there is another solution I'd like to know. If the only solution is a web service, then how can I manage to either convert the VB app to a web service? Can I have to convert the app to asp.net or some other language? Is there an easier option?

• .NET - Unable to get values from Value property of HtmlInputHidden

  I have a custom control that inherits from .NET's CompositeControl class. This control overrides the CreateChildControls in order to build its child controls dynamically. I need the page to post back after a couple different javascript events occur on the client side. In order to accomplish this, I create two hidden controls on the page so I can set their values with javascript, submit the page, and read the values out on server side. Here's is the code I use to create these two hiddens: Protected Overrides Sub CreateChildControls() hdEventName = New HiddenField() Controls.Add(hdEventName) hdEventName.ID = "hdEventName" hdEventArgs = New HiddenField() Controls.Add(hdEventArgs) hdEventArgs.ID = "hdEventValue" ' other controls ' ... End Sub When a javascript event occurs I set the value attribute of the two hiddens and submit the page, like so: hdEventName.value = 'EventName'; hdEventArgs.value = 'arg1,arg2'; document.forms[0].submit(); In the OnLoad method of my control, I attempt to check the Value property of the hdEventName and hdEventArgs controls, but it is always empty. However, Page.Request.Form(hdEventName.UniqueID) and Page.Request.Form(hdEventArgs.UniqueID) return correct values. The actual HTML in the markup also shows correct values after the page posts back. Why is the Value property of the HtmlInputHiddens disconnected from the actual value that appears on the client?

• MVC JsonResult with the [Authorize] attribute going to Logon but not displaying the view

  I am seeing odd behavior with MVC 3 methods that return a JsonResult when used with the Authorize attribute. What looks like happens is the Authorize is correctly evaluated when I am not logged in but instead of redirecting to the logon form the Json response is the logon form. Is there an addition attribute that directs the response to not return a value but instead redirect the user to the logon form, preferebly with the correct returnUrl value? What I did as a demo was to setup a new MVC3 site and added AspNetMembership to my DB using the aspnet_regsql.exe command. All that is setup and logging me in correctly. The behavior of the JsonResult doesn't seem right and I'm hoping I have just missed an attribute to make it work properly. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks in advance. I don't really care of what scripting language it'll use (as long as it runs on windows). I tried creating such script using SVN CLI tool, but it failed connecting to a SSL repository. How can I achieve that?

• Servlet File Upload Memory Consumption

  Hi, I'm using a servlet to do a multi fileupload (using apache commons fileupload to help). A portion of my code is posted below. My problem is that if I upload several files at once, the memory consumption of the app server jumps rather drastically. This is probably OK if it were only until the file upload is finished, but the app server seems to hang on to the memory and never return it to the OS. I'm worried that when I put this into production I'll end up getting an out of memory exception on the server. Any ideas on why this is happening?   Hi Everybody, I am trying to use Facebook connect in my application, but its not working as I desire. When I am trying to use the API Key and the API SecretKey of my application which I have registered with the facebook its not working. I have downloaded the code for the facebook. In the SessionViewController.m file when I pass my key values its not working. What I am trying to achieve is, when the app launches the first page is the Facebook Login Page. The user enters his username and password and then the next view should display. But nothing is happening, even the label doesn't display the username.   I'm trying to add an automatic post-build trigger to run NDepend after an automated team build in TFS 2010. NDepend's website provided code for integrating this capability, and so I have pasted their code into my .csproj file where they said for it to go, but I receive errors on the build. The errors refer to two of the three "BuildStep" tags I have in the code snippet. • Not able to create a datasource registration with WAMP MysQL 5.0 in DBArtisan

  I try in a test version of DBArtisan to set up a datasource and register both servere as localhost, database to use, my username and password, but, when testing the connection, I get message that connection failed. Hooking up from eg. Delphi and other utilities run nicely. But not DBArtisan, Is MySQL 5.0 not supported yet ?? Or is it WAMP that is the culprit naming the service wampmysqld insted of just mysqld ??

I now have these unicode characters instead of regular quote symbols, (i.e. quotes appear as <92 in the text) I want to do a regex replace but I'm having trouble selecting them. :%s/\u92/'/g :%s/\u5C/'/g :%s/\x92/'/g :%s/\x5C/'/g ...all fail. • Downloading From Google Docs

  Hello, I am using the gdata-java-client Version 2 with for and Android app that allows users to download documents from their Google Docs account. Currently I am able to authenticate, request and display a list of all the user's documents. From here I would like to open each type of document in a specific Activity. If it's a spreadsheet or a csv file, open it in one activity and if it is a text document open it in another activity. This is where things are getting hazy. First I need to determine what type of document the user selected in order download the file in the appropriate format by appending exporFormat=(csv,xls,doc,txt) to the query string. I don't see any indication in the original list of documents as to what kind of file the each entry is. Secondly as a test I can just append a raw string to the end of the query string. As an example, a query might look like this: https://spreadsheets.google.com/feeds/download/spreadsheets/Export?key=0AsE_6_YIr797dHBTUWlHMUFXeTV4ZzJlUGxWRnJXanc&exportFormat=xls Notice that at the end of the string is the hardcoded export format. This query returns a HTTPResponse with a 200 OK message. However if I look at the response.content or use response.parseAsString I see what appears to be a Google Docs home page has html text. I don't get this result when I try to download a text document. When I request a text document the response.content is the body of the text file. If I copy and paste this uri into a browser I get the requested file as a download. To summarize, this question is two-fold: 1. How do I determine the type( plain text, .doc, .csv, .xls ) of a document from the initial list of user documents. 2. How do I download the actual .csv or spreadsheet files? Thanks in advance.

• AJAX/JSONP Question. Access id denied using IE while requesting corss domain.

  Ok, Here we go. I have already searched the Stack for the answer i have found some useful info but i want to clear up some more things. I also search the net for the answer but no real help. I have worked with some api (yelp, ouside.in). In yelp i use to inject the script to head with the url request to the api with a callback funcion. I worked fine in all browsers. But while using outside.in api when i call the url the callback in not working. In yelp they have a url field can be used like that callback=callbackfuncion so the callback will automatically called. But in outside.in there is not such field available. Is there are any standard command for callback function which will work regardless of any server/api? I also tried a standard ajax request using jQuery $.ajax() function. It worked for my local pc for both IE and other browser but did not working in IE showing the error: access denied, other borwser seems ok. Firebug in my FF also don't notice any errors. • Mysterious HttpSession and session-config dependency

  Good day. I'm developing a Java web app with Servlets\JSP using Tomcat 7.0. During request from client I put and object into the session and use forward. After the forward processing the same request the object can be retreived if the secure parameter is false otherwise it is not stored in session. <session-config> <session-timeout>15</session-timeout> <cookie-config> <http-only>true</http-only> <secure>true</secure> </cookie-config> <tracking-mode>COOKIE</tracking-mode> </session-config> I've figured out that "...cookies can be created with the 'secure' flag, which ensures that the browser will never transmit the specified cookie over non-SSL...". I've configured Tomcat to use SSL, but that haven't helped. Changing the tracking mode to SSL haven't helped as well. How do session-config and HttpSession object correlate in this case? What could be the problem?

• Client side page call/scrape?

  Here is the problem: I have a web application - a frequently changing notification system - that runs on a series of local computers. The application refreshes every couple of seconds to display the new information. The computers only display info, and do not have keyboards or ANY input device. The issue is that if the connection to the server is lost (say updates are installed and a server must be rebooted), a page not found error is displayed). We must then either reboot all computers that are running this app, OR add a keyboard and refresh the browser, OR try to access each computer remotely and refresh the browser. None of these are good options and result in a lot of frustration. I cannot change the actual application OR server environment. So what I need is some way to test the call to the application, and if an error is returned or it times out, continue trying every minute or so until the connection is reestablished. My idea is to create a client-side page scraper, that makes a JS request to the application (which displays basic HTML), and can run locally on the machine, no server required. If the scrape returns the correct content, it displays it. If not it continues to request the page until the actual page content is returned. Is this possible? What is the best way to do it?
