  I need to execute these statements in all tables for all columns. alter table table_name charset=utf8; alter table table_name alter column column_name charset=utf8; Is it possible to automate this in any way inside MySQL? I would prefer to avoid mysqldump Update: Richard Bronosky showed me the way :-) The query I needed to execute in every table: alter table DBname.DBfield CONVERT TO CHARACTER SET utf8 COLLATE utf8_general_ci; Crazy query to generate all other queries: SELECT distinct CONCAT( 'alter table ', TABLE_SCHEMA, '.', TABLE_NAME, ' CONVERT TO CHARACTER SET utf8 COLLATE utf8_general_ci;' ) FROM information_schema.COLUMNS WHERE TABLE_SCHEMA = 'DBname'; I only wanted to execute it in one database. It was taking too long to execute all in one pass. It turned out that it was generating one query per field per table. And only one query per table was necessary (distinct to the rescue). Getting the output on a file was how I realized it.   I might be over complicating this but...I am hosting several websites and dns for the domains on a single server: domain1.net domain1.com domain2.net I have three items which I'm trying to work out whether to achieve by DNS, by IIS hostnames(bindings), or by IIS redirect. 1. Where I have domain1.net and domain1.com, I want everything from both (all emails and web requests) to just point to the domain1.net. Can I do this at the DNS level, or do I have to set up the email as forwarders on the email server and the domain as a hostname in IIS? For example: [email protected] [email protected] www.domain1.com www.domain1.net 2. I want to make sure that requests for domain1.net and www.domain1.net both resolve to the same place. Should this be done with DNS or with multiple hostnames, or with IIS redirects? 3. If I then want to have one webmail site serving all of domains (webmail.domain1.net, webmail.domain2.net), is it best to this with a cname in DNS or with host headers in IIS?

  I've been trying to track down why Spring Security isn't creating the SPRING_SECURITY_REMEMBER_ME_COOKIE so I turned on logging for org.springframework.security.web.authentication.rememberme. At first glance, the logs make it seem like the login is failing but the login is actually successful in the sense that if I navigate to a page that requires authentication I am not redirected back to the login page. However, the logs appear to be saying the login credentials are invalid. Any ideas as to what is going on?   I'm working on data migration, need some help on doing a macro to copy/transpose multiple columns record into individual single row. There are also a "tag" in the first row, which indicates the columns that should not be included in the copy/transpose. From: Tag x Name Jan Feb Mar Apr Larry 2 20 34 56 Harry 3 45 77 88 Marry 5 66 44 33 To: Larry Jan 2 Larry Feb 20 Larry Apr 56 Harry Jan 3 Harry Feb 45 Harry Apr 88 Marry Jan 5 Marry Feb 66 Marry Apr 33 The "Mar" data was omitted due to there's a tag (X) above it. The data might be near hundred columns (few years), and some of the months need to be omitted. Any expert able to help on this? I had been spending whole day cracking my head on this. Worse come to worse I might have to manually copy and paste, that would probably took me a decade.

I'm not able to come up with the logic of xml which should be used in this case. moreover I'm not able to figure out how should I check "Today's date" in xml's "if" statement. Can I please get some code sample to understand this kinda logic???

• JSON Feed Appears to be XHR when it should be JS

  I don't get why it'd doing this with the 2nd feed (appearing as a XHR call rather than just JS [looking at it in Firefox/Firebug]). The 2nd feed has the exact same MIME type as Flickr's JSON feed, yet the PortlandOregon.gov one shows as XHR and i get a NULL callback when using $.getJSON and if i use $.ajax with a 'json' or 'jsonp' type i get nothing at all. If i do the Flickr one i get the normal "[object Object]" callback. Whats going on? Please help! This has been such a headache for about a week. And i have authorization to change the feed, but i have to request the change, so if anyone knows for absolute sure let me know that! • Problem with Hyperic monitoring on CloudFoundry - frequent alerts

  Hi, I'm running single instance CloudFoundry configuration with one web application. I turned on Hyperic monitoring with notification for case of web app unavailability. Now I randomly receive alert emails (Subject "An alert has been triggered - Deployment myapp - context unavailable") that the application is not running, but it obviously is running fine. In access log of Apache I see two requests every 15 seconds: 127.0.0.1 - - [17/Mar/2010:15:37:33 +0100] "GET /server-status?auto HTTP/1.1" 200 438 "-" "Jakarta Commons-HttpClient/3.1" 127.0.0.1 - - [17/Mar/2010:15:37:33 +0100] "GET /myapp HTTP/1.1" 200 - "-" "Jakarta Commons-HttpClient/3.1" At the time when I get the alert emails, everything in log still seems to be fine - two requests. Do you have idea what could be wrong? Did anybody have this kind of problem and solve it? Thanks, P

On first invocation of a URL the user is prompted with the typical https browser "security alert" popup, on selecting "Yes" the display of the PDF fails.
