  I'm planning to create a news item which uses xml as it's backend and the Display should be like: Date: 08/Mar/2010 Title | News News 4 | Some news News 3 | Some news News 2 | Some news News 1 | Some news Date: 07/Mar/2010 Title | News News 5 | Some news News 4 | Some news News 3 | Some news News 2 | Some news News 1 | Some news Display should be sorted on Date (descending) Then news items should be sorted on time (descending) Today's news item should be on top, then titles should be sorted-decending (timewise), later will come previous day's news items. I'm not able to come up with the logic of xml which should be used in this case. moreover I'm not able to figure out how should I check "Today's date" in xml's "if" statement. ---- Previous Question ------------------------------------------------------------------ How can I export a data from textBox1, textBox2 & textBox3 on my winform (visual studio C#) so that it can automatically create an xml file with proper placing of these data????   Hey all i am in need of some helpful tips/advice on how to go about my problem. I have a database that houses a "signup" table. The date for this table is formated as such: 2010-04-03 00:00:00 Now suppose i have 10 records in this database: 2010-04-03 00:00:00 2010-01-01 00:00:00 2010-06-22 00:00:00 2010-02-08 00:00:00 2010-02-05 00:00:00 2010-03-08 00:00:00 2010-09-29 00:00:00 2010-11-16 00:00:00 2010-04-09 00:00:00 2010-05-21 00:00:00 And i wanted to get each months total registers... so following the example above: Jan = 1 Feb = 2 Mar = 1 Apr = 2 May = 1 Jun = 1 Jul = 0 Aug = 0 Sep = 1 Oct = 0 Nov = 1 Dec = 0 Now how can i use a query to do that but not have to use a query like: WHERE left(date, 7) = '2010-01' and keep doing that 12 times? I would like it to be a single query call and just have it place the months visits into a array like so: do until EOF theMonthArray[0] = "total for jan" theMonthArray[1] = "total for feb" theMonthArray[2] = "total for mar" theMonthArray[3] = "total for apr" ...etc loop I just can not think of a way to do that other than the example i posted with the 12 query called-one for each month. This is my query as of right now. Again, this only populates for one month where i am trying to populate all 12 months all at once.   On my 100TB cluster, I need to find dirs and files that have a "deny" ACE within their ACL, then remove that ACE on each instance. What I need to do next is extract $ACENUMBER and $PATHTOFILE so that I can execute this command: chmod -a# $ACENUMBER $PATHTOFILE Additional issue is that the find command (above) gives a relative path, whereas I need the full path. I guess that would need to be edited somehow. Any guidance on how to accomplish this?

  Hi all, I have been lurking and learning in here for a while. Now i have a problem that somehow i cannot see an easy solution. In order to learn django i am bulding an app that basically keeps track of booked items. What I would like to do is to show how many days per month for a selected year one item has been booked. i have the following models: Asset(Model) BookedAsset(Model): asset = models.ForeignKey(Asset) startdate = models.DateField() enddate = models.DateField() So having the following entries: asset 1, 2010-02-11, 2010-02-13 asset 2, 2010-03-12, 2010-03-14 asset 1, 2010-04-30, 2010-05-01 I would like to get returned the following: asset 1 asset 2 ------- ------- Jan = 0 Jan = 0 Feb = 2 Feb = 0 Mar = 0 Mar = 2 Apr = 1 Apr = 0 May = 1 May = 0 Jun = 0 Jun = 0 Jul = 0 Jul = 0 Aug = 0 Aug = 0 Sep = 0 Sep = 0 Oct = 0 Oct = 0 Nov = 0 Nov = 0 Dec = 0 Dec = 0 I know i need to first get the number of days in a date range (and keep track if they fall out of the current month and into the next month) and then do an agregate on the number of days. I am just stuck on how to do it elegantly in Django. Any help (or hint in the right direction) is greatly appreciated.

• SharePoint: Filtering a List that has Folders

  I have a SharePoint document library that has a folder structure used for organizing the documents (but also for controlling access, via permissions on the folders). The documents in the library are updated every month, and we store every month's version of the document in the same folder; there's a "month" column used for filtering that will contain values like Jan 09, Feb 09, etc. It looks like this: Title Month ----- ----- SubFolder 1 SubFolder 2 [] Interesting Facts Jan 09 [] Interesting Facts Feb 09 [] Interesting Facts Mar 09 [] Fascinating Numbers Jan 09 [] Fascinating Numbers Feb 09 ... Now, because users will generally be most interested in the 'current' month, I'd like them to be able to apply a filter, and select (say) Mar 09. However, if they do this using the built-in filtering, it also filters out the folders, and they can no longer navigate the folder hierarchy. This is no good - I want them to be able to move between folders with the filter intact, so that they don't need to keep switching it off and on again. I figured I might be able to use a custom view (selecting where type=folder or month=[month]), and to an extent that does work. However, I can only get it to work for a fixed month, whereas I need the user to be able to select the month - perhaps via a drop-down control on the page (and I don't want to create 60 views for 5 years' worth of months, nor do I want to have to create a new view every month). I thought it might be possible to create a view in code (rather than via the UI), but I've not been able to figure out how to get a dynamic value (a user-specific setting) into the CAML query. Any pointers gratefully appreciated! And by the way, I am aware of the dogma that folders are bad, and that everything should just be a list. However, having considered the alternatives, I still favour using folders - if I can solve this problem. Thanks in advance.

  there is a statement in the CLR via C# saying in C#, one class cannot disguise to be another, because GetType is virutal and thus it cannot be override but I think in C# we can still hide the parent implementation of GetType. I must missed something if I hide the base GetType implementation then I can disguise my class to be another class, is that correct? The key here is not whether GetType is virutal or not, the question is can we disguise one class to be another in C# Following is the NO.4 answer from the possible duplicate, so My question is more on this. is this kind of disguise possible, if so, how can we say that we can prevent class type disguise in C# ? regardless of the GetType is virtual or not While its true that you cannot override the object.GetType() method, you can use "new" to overload it completely, thereby spoofing another known type. This is interesting, however, I haven't figured out how to create an instance of the "Type" object from scratch, so the example below pretends to be another type. public class NotAString { private string m_RealString = string.Empty; public new Type GetType() { return m_RealString.GetType(); } } After creating an instance of this, (new NotAString()).GetType(), will indeed return the type for a string. share|edit|flag answered Mar 15 at 18:39 Dr Snooze 213 By almost anything that looks at GetType has an instance of object, or at the very least some base type that they control or can reason about. If you already have an instance of the most derived type then there is no need to call GetType on it.   I'm trying to authenticate against AD using the http://spnego.sourceforge.net component with tomcat. It seems the author stopped halfway through his debugging page, so i've no areas to look in other than to triple check my config. Any ideas?
