  • Wolfram Workbench and Mathematica Help System

    I find the Wolfram Workbench a nice environment for Mathematica development. However, as I program in Mathematica, I need to navigate the Help System very often. The Workbench provides a tooltip tool that shows a very basic help for the Mma functions (just the usage messages), and is not enough for my usual needs. So: Is there a way to bring up and navigate the whole Mma Help System from inside the Workbench? Alternative solutions are also welcome. Re-entering the function name in a notebook and pressing F1 is not :)

I am trying to build Delphi add-in and I have some troubles with saving/registering/loading the add-in docking form into the active IDE desktop. I am using the DeskUtil methods after reading some examples here and there, but, examples don’t go deep in how these methods work, and in the mechanism of the IDE loading/destroying.     Hi! I have to make the game „Planarity” in Matlab, for school project. (If you Google it, you can see and play the game in flash). The computer have to randomly put 5 circles in the coordinate system in different positions. After that it must draw lines between them. When the circles are randomly put in the coordinate system the coordinates must be whole numbers. Good example for number one circle: (3,4) ; bad example for number one circle (2.5 ,6.7). Please if Matlab is a childs game to you help me by sending me the source code for this. I really really need help... Please help me, this can be one hour to you, but a life saving thing to me...

    I'm experienced with database development, but not so much with Excel. I'm looking for help writing an Excel formula that would help my client's spreadsheet behave like a database. This is what I'm looking to do, but I can't figure out how to write it in Excel 2007: "If Q4 (on sheet 2) contains A2 (on sheet 1), append A1 (on sheet 1) with Q5 (on sheet 2)" Some factors: 1) This formula may find multiple instances of A2, so it should not stop after finding the first match 2) The values, as they are created in A1, should be separated with comma and space 3) This is a many to many relationship between Q4 and A2 Thanks for any help with this. I've tried vlookups, match, if statements, but they all fall short in one way or another.

    I have a PCG-252L All-in-one desktop. Last week it downloaded some updates, restarted, and even since then is shows nothing but a white screen. I can hear the beeps on startup, screen changes from white to black a couple of times, and then stays white. There's no VGA or HDMI port on the computer, so I can't plug it into the external monitor. Any ideas?

    I am dealing with a frustrating problem with Joomla that is going to require some url trickery. The idea is straight-forward but after reading a bunch of guides for mod-rewrite, I still can't seem to get it work. Let's say my site is www.mysite.com. Joomla is already performing some rewriting for SEF urls so I have links like www.mysite.com/home and www.mysite.com/news and so on. I want to be able to have (4) pseudo-subdirectories like www.mysite.com/mode1/ and www.mysite.com/mode2/ and so on. These subdirectories should work as if the subdirectory isn't there, ie both www.mysite.com/mode1/home and www.mysite.com/mode2/home should pull up the same www.mysite.com/home. It should point any www.mysite.com/mode1/anypagehere to www.mysite.com/anypagehere. The reason I am asking for this is because I will be reading the url for mode1, mode2, etc, to modify the template page. There will be a landing page that will direct people to /mode1/ and /mode2/ etc and the template will change based on that. Note, that I don't want to actually pass a parameter to the url accessible by a GET or whatever because Joomla removes it (perhaps because of my current mod_rewrite settings).   • I need help debugging apache with gdb (no debugging symbols found)

    I'm trying to debug a segfault in PHP/Apache running on RHEL4. This is a production server, so I'm trying to install a separate copy of apache and php, and run apache through gdb. When I load httpd through gdb and then do run -X, I get the error (no debugging symbols found)...Error while reading shared library symbols: Dwarf Error: Cannot handle DW_FORM_strp in DWARF reader. The Apache manual says something about setting EXTRA_CFLAGS to "-g", and i've tried configuring with --enable-maintainer-mode, but I don't seem to be getting far.

    Hi, I am trying to setup James mail server on a linux machine. The linux machine has public static ip address assigned. I installed James and added in the config.xml added the servername as mydomain.com. In the DNS for mydomain.com, I have created a A-record, say mx.mydomain.com, which corresponds to the ipaddress of the above mail server machine. Then added mx.mydomain.com as MX record for mydomain.com. In James, I have created a new user test. Then from gmail, I sent a mail to [email protected]. The mail is not received back and it didn't even bounce back. The linux machine is behind a firewall with only 22, 80, 8080 ports open for external network. My question here is, Do I require do open any other ports on the firewall so that the mail I send from gmail arrives to James? If it's not the port problem, any views on solving this issue? I don't want to send mails from this server. It's only for receiving the mails.

    I am trying to create a bash script that will scp a script to a remote server, ssh (using an ssh key that is already installed) to the remote server, execute the uploaded script, and then delete the remote script when it is finished. I'm not clear how to run an ssh session inside a bash script. Here are the commands I use to do it from the command line: scp my_script.sh [email protected]:/usr/home/user/ ssh [email protected] >sh my_script.sh >rm myscript.sh >exit How do I script the ssh portion of my command list?   • JoinDomainOrWorkgroup Method FJoinOptions help

    Anyone have experience of using the JoinDomainOrWorkgroup Method of the Win32_ComputerSystem Class? I want to write a powershell script to join a machine to a domain. There may be an existing computer account for the machine, and if so I want to delete it and rejoin to the domain. I've already scripted the "search and destroy" part that will delete the computer account if it exists, but just noticed the FJoinOptions switches on Technet. Trouble is - they're a bit ambiguous. Does 4 (0x4) Deletes an account when a domain exists. mean it will delete the computer account if it already exists on the domain? Also, can you specify the computername you want to join the machine under with this method, or should you do a rename and then join the domain. I just added 2 more drives using hotplug (the server is dell r610 with RHEL 5.4 64bit) and I would like to configure a separate raid0 partition on these drives. My company has a DSL 2mb connection. My main problem is latency, in the morning its good but after that its gets really bad.   • Need help with artificial neural network

    I have an input data for neural network that consists of 2 vectors with 200 elements, that i got from some program for generating signals. So it is actually 2x200 input to my nnet. As target data, i have one 1x200 vector that i also got from the same program. That is my training data set. I gather as much of those sets as i want so i transfer them to matlab and save them as, for example, set1, set2,.... When i am creating neural net, using newfit function (backropagation algorithm and everyhting else is set by default because i am kind of unexperianced with neural nets so i will have to experiment) i'm creating it using set1 only for example. Then, when i am to train neural net i train it for set1 then load set2 and train for it and so on. so its like this function net = create_fit_net(inputs,targets) numHiddenNeurons = 20; net = newfit(inputs,targets,numHiddenNeurons); net=train(net,inputs,targets); load set2; net=train(net,inputs,targets); load set3; net=train(net,inputs,targets); load set4; net=train(net,inputs,targets); i am using 4 sets of data here and all sets have variables of same name and size. My quesion is, am i doing this the right way, because, when doing simulation in some other m file, i am getting bad results, and every time i get different results. Does it matter if i create network with one set and then train with others too, and does it matter what set do i use to train network 1st? Also, i am confused about the amount of neurons to use (im using in the example 20 but actually i tried 1, 10, 30, 50, 100 200 and even 300 and i get nothing). If you have any suggestions, i'd be glad to take them into consideration. Any help is welcome. thanks in advance
