  • How do I escape backslashes in JSON?

    I am using Firefox's native JSON.parse() to parse some JSON strings that include regular expressions as values, for example: var test = JSON.parse('{"regex":"/\\d+/"}'); The '\d' in the above throws an exception with JSON.parse(), but works fine when I use eval (which is what I'm trying to avoid). What I want is to preserve the '\' in the regex - is there some other JSON-friendly way to escape it?

    Hi, I've got a static method that accepts two object type variables and runs the CompareTo() method: public static int Compare(Object objA, Object objB) { return (((IComparable)objA).CompareTo(objB)); } Problem is that CompareTo() throws an exception when trying to compare between different types (e.g. int and double).   • Thread-safe equivalent to python's time.strptime() ?

    Something I wrote throws a lot of AttributeErrors when using time.strptime() inside a thread. This only seems to happen on Windows (not on Linux), but whatever…. Upon a'Googling, it seems that time.strptime() isn't considered thread-safe. Is there a better way to create a datetime object from a string? Current code looks like: val = DateFromTicks(mktime(strptime(val, '%B %d, %Y'))) But, that yields the AttributeErrors as its run inside a thread. Thanks!

  • Controling page number shwon in printing dialog

    I'm trying to implement printing a range of pages in c# While printing, the .net framework throws up a message box that says "Page # of document". This starts at 1, and counts up to the number of pages printed. If I'm printing pages 10-11, I want that count to start at 10, not 1. Is there a way to set the starting value? The logical thing would be if it started at PrinterSettings.FromPage, but it ignores that value.

    i wonder if exceptions that are thrown in php will terminate the script in php? cause when i save an entry that is already created in doctrine it throws an exception. i catch the exception and ignore it (so that the user won't see it) but the script seems to be terminated. is there a way to catch the exception and keep the script alive? thanks

    I have a path for example C:\files\dir\file.css The "files" directory exists. however, the dir directory is missing and needs to be created. When I try to create the file using File.Create, it throws an exception saying that the directory was not found. Is there any way to make .net to create the missing folders along the path for me?     I tried session.createSQLQuery("ALTER TABLE People MODIFY address VARCHAR(1000);").executeUpdate(); but this throws org.hibernate.exception.SQLGrammarException: could not execute native bulk manipulation query After a lot of googling, the recommendation is to use HQL instead of SQL query to do bulk updates. Not sure how to use HQL to accomplish this. There seems to be no decent HQL documentation for updating column length in a table. Thanks so much for the help.
