  We are very excited that Attunity are going to be exhibiting at SQLBits VI, they must have a great product because any client I see that is integrating SQL with other stores such as DB2 and Oracle seem to be using Attunity's providers. On top of that we have a new exhibitor. Fusion IO will be coming along and I hope will be bringing some amazing demos of their kit. SSD storage is the future and Fusion IO are at the top of the game. • Black & White Video with Youtube

  Hey'a guys, I have an issue with the Youtube Player within Ubuntu, it seems that when playing videos there in black & white, no matter if there normal or HD. I kind of figured out how to prevent this from happening by deleting the cookie PREF that holds a KV Pair like so: PREF f1=50000000&fv=10.2.154 .youtube.com / Sat, 12 Mar 2011 11:38:29 GMT The issue is the Flash Version key, when I Delete this the color comes back, but obviously when I navigate to another page the cookie is set again. Does anyone know why this issue occurs and a possible fix? Using Latest Google Chrome on the latest version of Ubuntu (Installed 3 days ago) Thanks

I have this Linux Mint and i installed it on to one of my desktop PC, i have downloaded and installed freerdp-x11 for me to connect into my windows terminal server...The thing that I really need help is, i want the terminal command line to connect automatically to the windows terminal server so that every time i boot my Linux Mint pc i wouldn't have to keep typing "xfreerdp 000.000.0.000" on the terminal command line...Is there a script for it..????   My laptop housing my life in entirety decided to go south this last weekend, cant blame it because I wanted it to do things that not even normal people :)  but it corrupted and could not get it going no matter what I tried. Imagining what I would loose (my POC's, Couple of VM's and lots and lots of documentation) pushed me to try anything short of reinstall.   Hello guys I'm actually new to Terminal and Python. Just started following a Python tuturial on my Ubuntu and I've reached a part where it asks me to save a .py file and open it in Terminal. Only when I try to type on Terminal $ python egotrip.py I get $: command not found Then I try to type it in python and I get File "", line 1 python egotrip.py ^ SyntaxError: invalid syntax But I mean all names are correct :( Then I gave also tried /home/anacah/Desktop/python/egotrip.py And I get Traceback (most recent call last): File "", line 1, in NameError: name 'home' is not defined What am I doing wrong? :( can someone please help?

• How to check the information of current installed video drivers on Ubuntu?

  Hi guys, I have just installed Ubuntu 10.04. My CPU usage is high when I do trivial things such as scrolling through a PDF file. So I think my video driver is not properly installed. I want to confirm that by checking the information of my currently installed video driver, such as if there's a driver installed and what version it is. Then I could decide whether to install a new one if it is not up to date. On Windows, I could use the device manager, how to do that on Ubuntu Linux? I don't expect a GUI solution for this. For seasoned network professional having a MAC address of their own instead of a name :) this might not be that useful. However for a layperson like me this an invaluable resource.   I noticed that sometimes when browsing (with other processes in the background), I get very high CPU load for the browser process (over 100%) and the computer becomes really slow. I tried switching from Firefox (with just a few extensions) to Chromium, but same thing happens without me visiting graphics-intense sites, flash sites or anything like that. I also noticed python or node (when running "make") produce the same high CPU load from time to time so this is not necessarily browser-related. When I only have a browser open, it doesn't seem to happen and everything is fine in Windows 7. I switched from unity to gnome3 with no effect. Specs: lenovo w510 (4gb RAM, i7 q820 @ 1.73) + up to date Ubuntu 14.04 64bit. Printscreen: http://imgur.com/8MZJNKC Do you guys have any idea why this might happen? • Best memory allocation strategy for iOS ?

  Hey guys, I'm debating myself about memory allocation on iOS. I write most of my code in C++ and I really like using ObjectPools, FreeLists, etc. In order to pre-allocate a lot of the stuff that I'll be constantly "alloc/dealloc" during the course of my game, ( like particles, game entities, etc ). Still on iOS, it's not like we are developing for a console like PSP, where I can know for fact that I'll get a fixed amount of memory. iOS , will issue "memory warnings" when the system needs memory. Does anyone have some suggestions about this ? Is it too serious since the new iPod touch/iPhone 4 are carrying more RAM ? or it's still a big concern ? Thanks!

  I have read this tutorial about how to mask sprites using Cocos2D 2.0. http://www.raywenderlich.com/4428/how-to-mask-a-sprite-with-cocos2d-2-0 But the author talks about OpenGL ES textures and vertices as they were common knowledge. My knowledge about OpenGl is zero raised to infinity. All I want is to use a rectangle to mask a sprite to it. How I would do in Photoshop using a rectangle as mask (yes, I want to clip a sprite to the rectangle bounds and no, I do not want to use the ClippingNode solution, that do not works for animation/scaling etc.). So, can you guys translate the klingon language used in this tutorial and tell how a solid rectangle can be used to mask a sprite in Cocos2D? I am desperate, as my username states. I am searching this for a week and have tried several solutions without satisfactory results. Please help me. Thanks!

• Disconnect have no effect using rdesktop

  So I'm using rdesktop with my labtop when I remote my PC in the lab,which is installed with Windows 7.Everything went well until I recently upgraded my lubuntu of the laptop(or maybe there's nothing with the upgrade at all,however I don't know).The rdesktop fails to disconnect when I disconnect from the start menu of Windows.This does not mean that I cannot return to my linux, actually I get back to lubuntu successfully and the terminal reports that I have disconnected.However when I re-login to Windows of the PC in the lab(via rdesktop) after I reboot my laptop, it fails.Then I come to the PC in the lab and the screen message tells me that it is still connected with my lubuntu. So what's the problem? Do any guys have similar experience? PC:Windows 7,in the lab;laptop:linux(lubuntu 12.04)

NX 110 NX Server is running. NX 999 Bye. It means i have setup NX server correctly.. But on other machine when i open NX client it is asking for hostname..what name should i give there? Every tutorial is explaining about how to install and start NX server but not about how to connect to the server from client.. Could you guys please help me? Thanks in Advance Deter

• Webhosting for a TV channel with streaming video

  Hi guys, I'm making a website for a web based TV channel, so I'm assuming it will be heavy on bandwidth usage, but I'm no good at calculating bandwidth. Couple of questions: Assuming the site streams HD video 24 / 7 to 1000 people, how much bandwidth is that? Where should something like this be hosted? The channel will have a fiber internet optic connection, but I don't know the limit on their bandwidth, would it be better to get their own server or host online? In either case in question 2, any recommendations? I'm usually a regular web designer for minor businesses, so this is a new level. Your help is appreciated.

Any input gratefully received. I would like to report this problem directly to the maintainer of this part of the Ubuntu site but cannot see how to do that.

• Email sent via Google via relayhost being marked as spam

  Company email hosted by Google Apps. Company PBX in-house is Elastix. All voicemails received on the extensions of Elastix are supposed to be emailed by the CentOS server (Postfix) to the email address of the employee. Using relayhost on postfix, I am sending those emails through Google Apps (smtp.gmail.com), but some of these voicemail emails end up in the spam. Sending it through Google, and sending it to an email hosted by Google - yet there's spam. Email sent from the Google Apps interface - no complaints of it going to spam - just from the Elastix server. I've just asked our DNS domain guys to add spf records, but is that all that's needed? Some help please!

• Recovering domain name from a person I can't find

  I have a problem with one domain and I have no idea how to go about it. I am volunteering for a small charity in Sheffield (UK), more specifically I am redoing their website. A while ago (few years) there was one guy who made that website for them, sorted out a free hosting with another charity, bought domain name etc. Since the domain name is registered in his name, and he disappeared and we have no way of finding/contacting him, we can't move it to different hosting or do virtually nothing about it. Somehow the domain is being renewed every year, we know which domain registration service provider it is registered with, we know the guys name, and that's about it. How would we go about re-registering that domain in the charity's name, instead of that guy, is that at all possible? If we happen to get in touch with him, what should we ask for?
