• Using Navigation Controller in a subview of View based Applicatin

  Some one please help me with this. I am developing an iPhone app and have stared with View Based Application. I have buttons on my root view screen to take user to other views with their own nibs and classes. On one of those views I need to display a table getting data from SQLite database and then display detail of the selected item depending on the selection from the table. At later stage I also need to add forms to add data. Now, how to add a Navigation Controller in that view for drill down? Can we convert a View Controller to Navigation Controller just by adding a Navigation bar at the top?

  I have an issue and NO it is not homework, it's just a programmer who has been away from SQL for a long time having to solve a problem. I have the following table: create table students( studentid int identity(1,1), [name] varchar(200), [group] varchar(10), grade numeric(9,2) ) go The group is something arbitrary, assume it's the following "Group A", "Group B"... and so on. The grade is on a scale of 0 - 100. If there are 5 students in each group with grades randomly assigned, what is the best approach to getting the top 3 students (the top 80%) based on their grade? To be more concrete if I had the following: Ronald, Group A, 84.5 George H, Group A, 82.3 Bill, Group A, 92.0 George W, Group A, 45.5 Barack, Group A, 85.0 I'd get back Ronald, Bill, and Barack. I'd also need to do this over other groups.

In Table "Indian Customer" i want to put a constraint so that the users entring data in this table should not be able to enter customers that dont exist in "Customer Master" or whose branch location is not IN. also the tables are in the same project but are not directly related.

• How can I create a JTable where the first column is always in the JScrollPane viewport?

  What's the best way to set up a table in a JScrollPane such that the first column is always on the screen in the same position regardless of horizontal scrolling and overlaps columns that pass underneath? When the scrollbar is at the farthest left, the columns look normal, but as the user scrolls to the right, the secondary columns (2 and on) move underneath the first until the last column appears on the far right of the viewport? I found a sample taken from Eckstein's "Java Swing" book that sort of does this, but it doesn't allow resizing of the first column. I was thinking of some scheme where one JPanel held a horizontal struct and a table holding the secondary columns and another JPanel which floated over them (fixed regardless of scrolling). The struct would be to keep the viewport range constant as the first column floated around. Ideally I could do it with two tables using the same model, but I'm not sure if the whole idea is a naive solution.

  Currently i am having some problems with getting some data out of a DataTable by selecting all rows, but only some columns. • MySQL index cardinality - performance vs storage efficiency

  Say you have a MySQL 5.0 MyISAM table with 100 million rows, with one index (other than primary key) on two integer columns. From my admittedly poor understanding of B-tree structure, I believe that a lower cardinality means the storage efficiency of the index is better, because there are less parent nodes. Whereas a higher cardinality means less efficient storage, but faster read performance, because it has to navigate through less branches to get to whatever data it is looking for to narrow down the rows for the query. (Note - by "low" vs "high", I don't mean e.g. 1 million vs 99 million for a 100 million row table. I mean more like 90 million vs 95 million) Is my understanding correct?   I get the following error message The table/view 'TABLE1' does not have a primary key defined and no valid primary key could be inferred. This table/view has been excluded. To use the entity you will need to review your schema, add the correct keys and uncomment it when I try to add a view to an Entity Data Model.   I'm trying EF out and I do a lot of filtering based on many to many relationships. For instance I have persons, locations and a personlocation table to link the two. I also have a role and personrole table. EDIT: Tables: Person (personid, name) Personlocation (personid, locationid) Location (locationid, description) Personrole (personid, roleid) Role (roleid, description) EF will give me persons, roles and location entities. EDIT: Since EF will NOT generate the personlocation and personrole entity types, they cannot be used in the query. How do I create a query to give me all the persons of a given location with a given role? In SQL the query would be select p.* from persons as p join personlocations as pl on p.personid=pl.personid join locations as l on pl.locationid=l.locationid join personroles as pr on p.personid=pr.personid join roles as r on pr.roleid=r.roleid where r.description='Student' and l.description='Amsterdam' I've looked, but I can't seem to find a simple solution.

  I have created a JTable which is populated by various arraylists which get their data from a text list using a "~" to split. The issue I am having is that the table is displaying all data from the list on a single row. From previous advice, I think the issue may be looping, but I am not sure. Any advice would be great.   Hi there, I'm installing some tracking code into the checkout_success.php page. I need to be able to grab the coupon code/discount code name from the order, if one was used so that I can echo it out in my tracking script. I was wondering if anyone knows how to do this? I'm using this contribution of discount coupons; ot_discount_coupons.php, August 4, 2006, author: Kristen G. Thorson, ot_discount_coupon_codes version 3.0 It seems that the coupon code is not actually stored in the order_totals, but in a seperate discount_coupons_to_orders table. is there a query i can do on this table to find the matching coupon code used for this order? i tried the following but it return nothing; $coupon_query = tep_db_query("select coupons_id from discount_coupons_to_orders where orders_id = '".(int)$orders['orders_id']."'   Here is my problem; indexdeneme2.php has two forms Sign up and Login form, and there is validation.js and login.js which are handling the AJAX and JSON response, there are validate.php and login.php which are my scripts for validating and login. When you sign up, it sends the data to validate.php perfectly and validate.php response with JSON perfectly, validate.js must show the error in #error div. validation.js works perfectly if it is working alone. I use same kind of script for login form. Login.php also works perfectly it responses with JSON and login.js shows the errors are appear in #errorlogin div. But this works when login.js works alone. When I try to work login.js and validate.js together, it is not working. validate.php and login.php works perfectly but login.js and validation.js are not working together. They can't handle the responses coming from php scripts. It is not showing the errors in #errorlogin and #error div. They intercept each other I guess. (eg. #FFAABB) But it can have multiple nulls.   Hi there. I have an application that includes 2 classes Club and Article. These are mapped in Hibernate as a many to many relationship. As a result, hibernate has created a table called CLUB_ARTICLE which it uses to manage the many to many relation ship. The CLUB and ARTILCE tables have no direct reference to each other and the mapping is only represented in the CLUB_ARTICLE table. I need to create an HQL query that returns a list of articles for a particlular club. So I need to supply the club id and get back a list of Article objects that belong to it. For some reason, I just can't work out how to do this. Any help would be very much appriciated! Thanks.

******************************************************************************** Based on my reading of Oracle's documentation of skip scans, a skip scan is most useful when the first column of an index has a low number of unique values. The thing is that the first index of this column is a unique primary key. So am I correct in assuming that a skip scan is the wrong thing to do here? Also, what kind of scan should it be doing? Should I do some more hinting for this query? EDIT: I should also point out that the query's where clause uses the columns in IDX_MBR_IDENTFN and no columns other than what's in that index. So as far as I can tell, I'm not skipping any columns.

• Script stops working on HSQLDB 1.9.0-rc6

  DROP VIEW V1 IF EXISTS; DROP TABLE T1 IF EXISTS; CREATE TABLE T1 (id INT, name VARCHAR(32), age int); CREATE VIEW V1 AS (SELECT * FROM T1 WHERE age < 21); I have no problem to execute the SQL statement above in one JDBC statement or on the SWING Manager from HSQLDB. Now it stops working on 1.9.0-rc6. This is error message I got - "user lacks privilege or object not found: T1 / Error Code: -5501 / State: 42501" Does anyone know what have changed in 1.9.0-XX which made it not working? Thanks

• How do you use the LINQ to SQL designer to generate accessor methods for subclasses?

  Above is the LINQ to SQL designer view for my data context. [Table(Name="dbo.Activities")] [InheritanceMapping(Code="1", Type=typeof(ActivityBase), IsDefault=true)] [InheritanceMapping(Code="2", Type=typeof(Project))] [InheritanceMapping(Code="3", Type=typeof(ProjectActivity))] [InheritanceMapping(Code="5", Type=typeof(Task))] [InheritanceMapping(Code="4", Type=typeof(Activity))] public abstract partial class ActivityBase : INotifyPropertyChanging, INotifyPropertyChanged { ... Is there a way to generate accessor methods for the subclasses as shown in the inheritance mapping above (Project, Task, etc...) without doing it manually? I added them manually but then a change in the designer overwrites any manual changes. Am i doing this wrong? should I not be making accessors for the sub classes? filtering from ActivityBase seems worse to me. Thanks for any help on this.

  If you have a long running SP, do you log somehow it's actions or just wait for this message? "Command(s) completed successfully." I assume, that there can be plenty solutions on this subject, but is there any best practice - a simple solution that is frequently used? EDIT I've found an interesting link on this subject http://weblogs.sqlteam.com/brettk/archive/2006/09/21/12391.aspx Article describes using a log table, but there's an issue The logging procedure must be executed outside of any transaction I can't call that insert outside, because of cursor that I use and insert a line to that table on every row. Any ideas?
