  You may ask why do I need it? I have to detect all white objects at the B/W image. I'm coloring each object and taking its rect. In order fill each object with different color I would be very happy to use a function that can for a given color gimme a next one or so. In Qt there is a nice one that is called nextColor or so, returns the integer representing the next color(which can be easily translated to RGB). Does Cocoa have sth like that?

• Why are controls within custom panel (C# winforms) disappearing in designer?

  I have been able to create a custom C# winforms control that is basically a panel with a fixed banner (header/footer). I want to base other user controls on this "banner panel". I've gotten past the problem with the designer here. I can successfully add controls to the inner content panel. Everything looks fine while designing. However, when I recompile, the controls I added to the content panel disappear. They are still there (in code) but aren't displayed in the designer. Is there any thing that I need to do to set the drawing order of the controls?

• Versioning CommonAssemblyInfo.cs and MSBuild

  So I have a CommonAssemblyInfo.cs linked into all the projects in my solution and is dynamically generated by my rake/albacore scripts which is not checked into source control. I also have a CommonAssemblyInfo.cs.local for use when there is no ruby available, mainly to be used by devs. Is it possible to have a msbuild task or something that runs before any of the other project compilation that will copy CommonAssemblyInfo.cs.local to CommonAssemblyInfo.cs before trying to compile my solution? I hate having to have a command you have to just know about and type in order to open and buidl the solution in Visual Studio.

  I noticed some code of a colleague today that initialized class variables in the initialization. However it was causing a warning, he says because of the order they are in. My question is why is it better to do variable initialization where it currently is and not within the curly brackets?   Hi, Should be a simple one. Database is mydb. One of the columns is mydata. What SELECT query do I need in order to select the top 3 occurring results from mydata, but sorted alphabetically? For example, if my data is this: mydata ====== kilo (x 1 occurrence) lima (x 9 occurrences) golf (x 5 occurrences) echo (x 9 occurrences) zulu (x 8 occurrences) How do I get it to return "echo, lima, zulu", which are the top three frequently occurring entries sorted alphabetically? • Can in-memory SQLite databases be used concurrently?

  In order to prevent a SQLite in-memory database from being cleaned up, one must use the same connection to access the database. However, using the same connection causes SQLite to synchronize access to the database. Thus, if I have many threads performing reads against an in-memory database, it is slower on a multi-core machine than the exact same code running against a file-backed database. Is there any way to get the best of both worlds? That is, an in-memory database that permits multiple, concurrent calls to the database?

  I have an object elem that I'd like to pass to the remove_tag_from_cart method. Here is my attempt: -elem = @tags[1] #{elem.name}#{link_to_remote image_tag('x.png'), :url => {:controller => 'questions', :action => 'remove_tag_from_cart'}, :with => {:tag_to_remove => :elem}} The :with clause isn't working correctly. The image does not even show up. If I take out the :with clause, then the link properly shows up and calls the method correctly, but I need the elem object in order to remove it from the cart. Suggestions?

• SQLite subquery syntax/error/difference from MySQL

  I was under the impression this is valid SQLite syntax: SELECT *, (SELECT amount AS target FROM target_money WHERE start_year <= p.bill_year AND start_month <= p.bill_month ORDER BY start_year ASC, start_month ASC LIMIT 1) AS target FROM payments AS p; But I guess it's not, because SQLite returns this error: no such column: p.bill_year What's wrong with how I refer to p.bill_year? Yes, I am positive table payments hosts a column bill_year. Am I crazy or is this just valid SQL syntax? It would work in MySQL wouldn't it?? I don't have any other SQL present so I can't test others, but I thought SQLite was quite standardlike.

  I've been using C++ for quite a long time now but nevertheless I tend to fall back on scanf when I have to parse simple text files. • Duplicate ID/indexes and looping

  I realize having two elements in the same html doc with the same ID is wrong, bad, immoral, and will lead to global warming. But... I'm trying to write an XSS widgit, so I really have no control over the quality of the parent web page. I loop through document.images to retrieve a list of images on the page. I perform an action on each one. for(img in document.images){ ... } i've also tried for(var i=0;i<document.images.length;i++){ ... } in both cases it allows me to loop through all of the elements, BUT when trying trying to reference an object with a duplicate ID, I always get the first (in order of the html). When using debugger in IE8 i'm able to see that both elements ARE listed, but that they both have the same index (in IE the index of the document.images is either sequential or matches the image ID) Does anyone have a better solution?

  I noticed you can use the following stored procedures (in order) to schedule a SSIS package: msdb.dbo.sp_add_category @class=N'JOB', @type=N'LOCAL', @name=N'[Uncategorized (Local)]' msdb.dbo.sp_add_job ... msdb.dbo.sp_add_jobstep ... msdb.dbo.sp_update_job ... msdb.dbo.sp_add_jobschedule ... msdb.dbo.sp_add_jobserver ... (You can see an example by right clicking a scheduled job and selecting "Script Job as- Create To".) AND you can use sp_start_job to execute the job immediately, effectively running SSIS packages on demand. Question: does anyone know of any msdb.dbo.[...] stored procedures that simply allow you to run SSIS packages on the fly without using sp_cmdshell directly, or some easier approach?

  I have a collection of controls "MyCollection" wich changes in the Runtime. And I have to follow some constraints for that, for example: If my parameter "MyCollection.Count = 4" the property "NumberOfcolumns" will have the value 2, in order to create new Lines, and show the controls Two per Two. • How to retrieve column total when rows are paginated?

  Hey guys I have a column "price" in a table and I used a pagination script to generate the data displayed. Now the pagination is working perfectly however I am trying to have a final row in my HTML table to show the total of all the price. So I wrote a script to do just that with a foreach loop and it sort of works where it does give me the total of all the price summed up together however it is the sum of all the rows, even the ones that are on following pages. How can I retrieve just the sum of the rows displayed within the pagination? Thank you! Here is the query.. • How to map a property for HQL usage only (in Hibernate)?

  i have a table like this one: id | name | score mapped to a POJO via XML with Hibernate. The score column i only need in oder by - clauses in HQL. The value for the score column is calculated by an algorithm and updated every 24 hours via SQL batch process (JDBC). So i dont wanna pollute my POJO with properties i dont need at runtime. For a single column that may be not a problem, but i have several different score columns. Is there a way to map a property for HQL use only? For example like this: <property name="score" type="double" ignore="true"/> so that i still can do this: from Pojo p order by p.score but my POJO implementation can look like this: public class Pojo { private long id; private String name; // ... } No Setter for score provided or property added to implementation. using the latest Hibernate version for Java.

• How to stream a WAV file?

  I'm writing an app where I record audio and upload the audio file over the web. In order to speed up the upload I want to start uploading before I've finished recording. The file I'm creating is a WAV file. My plan was to use multiple data chunks. So instead of the normal encoding (RIFF, fmt , data) I’m using (RIFF, fmt , data, data, ..., data). The first issue is that the RIFF header wants the total length of the whole file, but that is of course not known when streaming the audio (I’m now using an arbitrary number). The other problem is that I'm not sure if it's valid since Audacity doesn't recognise the file, and Windows Media Player opens the file but plays only a very small part. I've been reading WAV specs but haven’t found an answer. Any suggestions?

  Hi! I leasing a dedi server under Centos5, just recently I ve setup a blog website that grabs feeds from other news websites and presents them on my blog. Some days after I see high server loads that cant be coming just from the cron jobs that I run every now and then to grab feeds from other websites for my blog website. Thats why I m trying to pico some log files in order to have a better look the whole problem. These last days I noticed(from statscounter service) the same IP address visiting my blog website many times per day so I want to find out what us trying to do. I tried looking in all /var/log log files and httpd too but no luck. Is there any other log file I should open or any other procedure to track this IP acivity on server?

  I need to document a MS-Access application that was created, developed and maintained completely by a power-user over 10 years. This is an interesting situation because what they want is a manual so that a future developer can come in without prior domain knowledge and make changes to the frontend or the backend in a timely manner. There are a few questions on my mind for this little project: What is a good manual design creating application? Microsoft Word doesn't quite cut it. What kind of things would you, the developer, need to know in order to make changes to things like forms, reports, tables or other Access objects? Anything else I missed? Any pitfalls?

• DDEX Firebird editing queries duplicates columns in Visual Studio 2008

  Hello everybody! I don't know if some of you also has experienced it but when I edit a query in Visual Studio (it uses DDEX 2.0.5 for accessing the Firebird 2.5 database), it duplicates some of the columns. What's really interesting is the fact that only System.Boolean columns are duplicated: Originally, there was only ,for instance, a 'PRO_DELETED' field... Now I wanted to sort my results by this field - I had to change the select statement in the so-called QueryBuilder by adding "ORDER BY PRO_DELETED" ...After clicking OK it somehow created a new column (!?) called 'PRO_DELETED1' My question is: Why does DDEX add such a new row to the column view and why can't I access the original PRO_DELETED field anymore? • Interpreter in C++: Function table storage problem

  In my interpreter I have built-in functions available in the language like print exit input, etc. These functions can obviously be accessed from inside the language. The interpreter then looks for the corresponding function with the right name in a vector and calls it via a pointer stored with its name. So I gather all these functions in files like io.cpp, string.cpp, arithmetic.cpp. But I have to add every function to the function list in the interpreter in order for it to be found. So in these function files I have things like: void print( arg ) { cout << arg.ToString; } I'd add this print function to the interpreter function list with: interpreter.AddFunc( "print", print ); But where should I call the interpreter.AddFunc? I can't just put it there below the print function as it has to be in a function according to the C++ syntax. Where and how should all the functions be added to the list?

  I've just downloaded MochaUI, and I'm playing around trying to build an interface. I've successfully created windows, but I'm having trouble when it comes to layouts with columns. I've included all of the libraries in the same order as the demo, and this is in my init code: window.addEvent('domready', function(){ new MochaUI.Column({ id: 'sideColumn1', placement: 'left', width: 200, resizeLimit: [100, 300] }); }); When run, no column is created and I get the error: A is null Does anyone have any ideas? I can do it in C# by looping around the returned datatable and specifically position columns using datatable.columns.setordinal() method. Is there any better way in SQL or C# to accomplish this.
