• Strange sql query result from Mysql and from PHP mysqli_query!

  this is the query command echo from php web page: SELECT DISTINCT FT.file_type_name AS type,FT.file_type_en AS tp,FT.file_type_id AS fti, MATCH(keywords) AGAINST ('words <2' IN BOOLEAN MODE ) AS score FROM movie AS M,file_type AS FT WHERE MATCH (keywords) AGAINST ('words <2' IN BOOLEAN MODE ) AND M.type_cn = FT.file_type_id HAVING score >=1 ORDER BY FT.file_type_order; I am running above query in MySQL tools HeidiSQL and got only tow row records which score are 1.66666 and 2. If I remove the HAVING clause I would got three row records with one's score less than 1. But the same query I get from PHP mysqli_query() were all the three records and the one which score less than 1 became 1. What is the problem. Any tips will be pleasure. Thank you very much!!

• Processing variable number of form fields

  I am working on a form which displays information about orders. Each order has a unique id, but they are not necessarily sequential on the form. Also, the number of fields can vary (one field per row on the form). The input into the form will not be mapped straight into the database, but will be added to the current value in the database, and then saved. An example of the form is in the picture below - the callout on the right shows the id for each row. I know how to generate the form like this, but I can't work out how I can easily process each of these rows reliably. I also know how to give each of the fields a unique identifier, like name="row-23", but how can I translate that name so that I can update the related record in the database?

• Problem with dependencies in m2eclipse

  Hi, I have a problem with m2eclipse and Nexus. Normally, when you create a new Maven Project in Eclipse, you can select an Archetype like maven-archetype-quickstart from the Nexus Indexer. Unfortunately, the Nexus Indexer doesn't show anything at all. But the worst part about all this is, that the "Add Dependency" menue doesn't work. (For a better understanding: By clicking on the "Dependencies" tab, you can usually click on a button in order to enter a groupId or artifactId. That's the menue what I am talking about. If I enter for example "junit", it shows no search results.) Does anybody know this issue? How could I fix it? Thanks a million in advance for any help.

• how can I get back /usr/local/bin/mysql on Snow Leopard?

  From terminal and trying to uninstall macports, I ran a command, rm -rf / macports...., that erased bunch of stuff. I feel ashamed about this, not realizing the space after /. Since then, mysql is running but I cannot execute any of the mysql commands because it is not under /usr/local/bin/ I went ahead an reinstall mysql but without luck. What steps do you recommend on doing in order to be able to run mysql, mysqlduml, mysqladmin, from terminal? I can access databases from phpmyadmin, so mysql is running, don't ask me how.

• Nesting queries in SQL

  The goal of my query is to return the country name and its head of state if it's headofstate has a name starting with A, and the capital of the country has greater than 100,000 people utilizing a nested query. Here is my query: SELECT country.name as country, (SELECT country.headofstate from country where country.headofstate like 'A%') from country, city where city.population > 100000; I've tried reversing it, placing it in the where clause etc. I don't get nested queries. I'm just getting errors back, like subquery returns more than one row and such. If someone could help me out with how to order it, and explain why it needs to be a certain way, that'd be great.

• Is this possible with Sql 2005 CTE?

  I have been working on a query that will return a suggested start date for a manufacturing line based on due date and the number of minutes needed to complete the task. There is a calendar table(LINE_ID, CALENDAR_DATE, SCHEDULED_MINUTES) that displays per manufacturing line, the number of minutes scheduled for that day. Example: (Usually 3 shifts worth of time scheduled per day, no weekends but can vary) 1, 06/8/2010 00:00:00.000, 1440 1, 06/7/2010 00:00:00.000, 1440 1, 06/6/2010 00:00:00.000, 0 1, 06/5/2010 00:00:00.000, 0 1, 06/4/2010 00:00:00.000, 1440 In order to get the suggested start date, I need to start with the due date and iterate downward through the days until i have accumulated enough time to complete the task. My Question can something like this be done with CTE, or is this something that should be handled by a cursor. Or... am i just going about this the wrong way completely??

• Using NVL function in SQL, please help!

  I'm needing to select first and last name in a table which is working fine in the following SQL, but the part that isn't working is the NVL function. The file should show all pilots at a company that fly helicopters and IF they don't have a licence the field HT_NAME should come up as 'N/A' and the field for end hours flown should be 0. I've put NVL function in as my text details but it still isn't working. Have i made a syntax error? Help would be appreciated.   My application has a delete user option. Now in order to check concurrency condition I tried the following use case opened application in chrome and firefox browser. deleted user in firefox now trying to delete the same user in chrome browser I get exception org.hibernate.StaleObjectStateException .. which is right .. since I am trying to delete an object which doesn't exists. But I am not able to catch this exception try{ getHibernateTemplate().delete(userObj); } catch (StaleObjectStateException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } How do i catch this exception ??

  Hello, The query below works just fine. It pulls fields from two MySQL tables, "comment" and "login". It does this for rows where "username" in the table "login" equals the variable "$profile." It also pulls fields for rows where "loginid" in the table "comment" equals the "loginid" that is also being pulled from "login." I would like to pull data from a third table called "submission," which has the following fields: submissionid loginid title url displayurl datesubmitted I would like to pull fields from rows in "submission" where "loginid" equals the "loginid" that is already being pulled from the other two tables, "login" and "comment." How can I do this?   I have a dictionary whose keys are strings and values are numpy arrays, e.g.: data = {'a': array([1,2,3]), 'b': array([4,5,6]), 'c': array([7,8,9])} I want to compute a statistic between all pairs of values in 'data' and build an n by x matrix that stores the result. Assume that I know the order of the keys, i.e. I have a list of "labels": labels = ['a', 'b', 'c'] What's the most efficient way to compute this matrix? I can compute the statistic for all pairs like this: result = [] for elt1, elt2 in itertools.product(labels, labels): result.append(compute_statistic(data[elt1], data[elt2])) But I want result to be a n by n matrix, corresponding to "labels" by "labels". • Need help optimizing MYSQL query with join

  I'm doing a join between the "favorites" table (3 million rows) the "items" table (600k rows). The query is taking anywhere from .3 seconds to 2 seconds, and I'm hoping I can optimize it some. Favorites.faver_profile_id and Items.id are indexed. Instead of using the faver_profile_id index I created a new index on (faver_profile_id,id), which eliminated the filesort needed when sorting by id. Unfortunately this index doesn't help at all and I'll probably remove it (yay, 3 more hours of downtime to drop the index..) Any ideas on how I can optimize this query? In case it helps: Favorite.removed and Item.removed are "0" 98% of the time. Favorite.collection_id is NULL about 80% of the time.   Hello, I'm trying to make sense on the best way to do automatize a series of things in a row in order to deploy a web-app and haven't yet came up with a suitable solution. I would like to: use google's compiler.jar to minify my JS use yahoo's yui-compressor.jar to minify my CSS access a file and change a string so that header files like "global.css?v=21" get served the correct version deploy the app (sftp, mercurial or rsync?) omitting certain directories like "/userfiles" Can you guys put me on the right track to solve this?   A 3rd party site sends its notifications after my web application has completed some action in order to notify me of its succes. Receiving a notification item requires a response back to the 3rd party server (URL) with the a containing the value "accepted". I have never user SOAP and with the basic info found I'm a bit lost for the case of asp.net mvc. Are there any good links showing the principle of receiving and sending SOAP responses? Tutorials / information may be presented in other languages such as java, asp.net (classic) or something. I need to get a general idea since googling on SOAP is not giving me anything for the past few hours. thanks in advance.

I need a query that when team B is equal to 0, (this can occur in my scenario) I get only Team A - Team B (as 0) once.

• Deploy java (command line) app using Netbeans / ant

  I've finally managed to create a Netbeans project out of an old standalone (not Web-) Java application which consisted only out of single .java sources. Now I have basically two questions regarding Netbeans Subversion interaction and application deployment: Do you check in all the Netbeans project files into the repository, normally? If I build the project using Netbeans (or ant) I get a .jar file and some additional jar libraries. In order for the app to run properly on the server, some additional config files and directories (log/ for example) are needed. The application itself is a J2SE application (no frameworks) which runs from the command line on a Linux platform. How would you deploy and install such an application? It would also be nice if I could see what version of app is currently installed (maybe by appending the version number to the installed app path). Thanks for any tips.

• Is it immoral to put a captcha on a login form?

  In a recent project I put a captcha test on a login form, in order to stop possible brute force attacks. The immediate reaction of other coworkers was a request to remove it, saying that it was inapropiate for that purpose, and that it was quite exotic to see a captcha in that place. I've seen captcha images on signup, contact, password recovery forms, etc. So I personally don't see inapropiate to put a captcha also on a place like that. Well, it obviously burns down usability a little bit, but it's a matter of time and getting used to it. With the lack of a captcha test, one would have to put some sort of blacklist / account locking mechanism, which also has some drawbacks. Is it a good choice for you? Am I getting somewhat captcha-aholic and need some sort of group therapy? Thanks in advance.

Home is always unique to the person. But my DBMS doesn't know that. Is there an easy way around this problem? Appreciate it.

• Design pattern to encapsulate common funtionality among UI controls

  I'm brainstorming some ideas around a pattern to use for the following scenario. I have some 3rd party controls that I want to add common functionality to. Functionality is added by handling several of the the events and doing certain things when the events fire along with adding some private variables to hold some state info between events. I want to reuse the code and functionality so this is what I'd typically do. Create a class for this functionality and pass in the instance of the control that I want to add the functionality to in the constructor. Then I can add event handlers to the control in the instance of the class. Can anyone think of alternative patterns to use in order to create this kind of reusable functionality.

• Table alias -- Unkown column in field list

  Hi all, I have a sql query which is executing a LEFT JOIN on 2 tables in which some of the columns are ambiguous. I can prefix the joined tables but when I try to prefix one of the columns from the table in the FROM clause, it tells me Unknown column. I even tried giving that table an alias like so ...From points AS p and using "p" to prefix the tables but that didn't work either. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong. • CakePHP hasAndBelongsToMany (HABTM) Delete Joining Record

  I have a HABTM relationship between Users and Locations. Both Models have the appropriate $hasAndBelongsToMany variable set. When I managing User Locations, I want to delete the association between the User and Location, but not the Location. Clearly this Location could belong to other users. I would expect the following code to delete just the join table record provided the HABTM associations, but it deleted both records. $this->Weather->deleteAll(array('Weather.id' => $this->data['weather_ids'], false); However, I am new to CakePHP, so I am sure I am missing something. I have tried setting cascade to false and changing the Model order with User, User-Weather, Weather-User. No luck. Thanks in advance for any help.
