    Dim Comp = From C In db.Table1 _ Select C.Completed, C.Taken, C.Namne Datagridview1.DataSource = Comp Am using the Entity Framework and Columns Completed and Taken are of bit Datatype. When the query results are displayed in the datagridview, these bit columns are returned as of ColumnType Textbox - so i get a Datagridview textbox column with true or false string values. I want to display Completed and Taken as Checkbox columns (either ticked for True or un-ticked for false) but ofcourse i can't do this in EditColumn dialogue because the Datagridview is unbound. how can i change this in code at runtime

  • Linq to Entities and outer joins issue

    Can somebody tell me, why does Linq to Entities translate many to 1 relationships to left outer joins instead of inner joins? It relation was many to 0..1. There's referential constraint on DB itself, that ensures there's a record in the right table, so inner join should be used instead. Is it possible to write LINQ in a way so they will translate to inner joins rather than left outer joins. It would speed query execution a lot.

  • Troubleshooting Facebook's graph.put_object that returns error 400

    I am using Facebook Python's SDK along with Google App Engine, and making a call to do a checkin: graph.put_object("me", "checkins", message="Hello, world", place="165039136840558", coordinates='{"latitude":"38.2454064", "longitude":"-122.0434404"}') However, this throws an error 400 Bad Request and I don't seem to be able to try catch it so I can have the important information. On a bad request, Facebook should return, an object like below which can help troubleshoot and address the issue, but I am not sure how I can retrieve this object: { "error": { "type" : "OAuthException", "message" : "An active access token must be used to query information about the current user." } }

I thought about union: select * from table where itemId = 196 union select * from table where itemId = 150 but that doesn't cover the ID2 requirement. How should I do that?

  • why is this rails association loading individually after an eager load?

    I'm trying to avoid the N+1 queries problem with eager loading, but it's not working. The associated models are still being loaded individually. Here are the relevant ActiveRecords and their relationships: class Player < ActiveRecord::Base has_one :tableau end Class Tableau < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :player has_many :tableau_cards has_many :deck_cards, :through => :tableau_cards end Class TableauCard < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :tableau belongs_to :deck_card, :include => :card end class DeckCard < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :card has_many :tableaus, :through => :tableau_cards end class Card < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :deck_cards end and the query I'm using is inside this method of Player: def tableau_contains(card_id) self.tableau.tableau_cards = TableauCard.find :all, :include => [ {:deck_card => (:card)}], :conditions => ['tableau_cards.tableau_id = ?', self.tableau.id] contains = false for tableau_card in self.tableau.tableau_cards # my logic here, looking at attributes of the Card model, with # tableau_card.deck_card.card; # individual loads of related Card models related to tableau_card are done here end return contains end Does it have to do with scope? This tableau_contains method is down a few method calls in a larger loop, where I originally tried doing the eager loading because there are several places where these same objects are looped through and examined. Then I eventually tried the code as it is above, with the load just before the loop, and I'm still seeing the individual SELECT queries for Card inside the tableau_cards loop in the log. I can see the eager-loading query with the IN clause just before the tableau_cards loop as well. EDIT: additional info below with the larger, outer loop Here's the larger loop.   • Report Builder Error (Input string was not in a correct format) when filtering data

    Issue: the user is getting an error “The requested list could not be retrieved because the query is not valid or a connection could not be made to the data source.” while trying to filter a reporting using Report Builder 2.0. When you expand the details the message is “Input string was not in a correct format” I verified that when the user clicks to see the filter values the query is being sent to the underlying database (by using profiler). When I build the same report [I'm a server admin] I have no issues and see all the filtered values, which leads me to believe this is a permissions issue. I believe I granted all the correct permissions, see below: Report Server Setup [Project Name] Data Sources Models […other folders] We are using SQL Server 2005.     I understand that cubes are optimized data structures for aggregating and "slicing" large amounts of data. I just don't know how they are implemented. I can imagine a lot of this technology is proprietary, but are there any resources that I could use to start implementing my own cube technology? Set theory and lots of math are probably involved (and welcome as suggestions!), but I'm primarily interested in implementations: the data structures and query algorithms. Thanks!

    I'm using GAPI library (in PHP) for querying Google Analytics API. I request 2 dimensions (pagePath, date), 2 metric (pageviews, visits), past 365 days time range, and 2 filters for pagePath. Average time to get data for one query is 25-30 sec. When I use only 1 metric (pageviews), average response time is 3 sec. Why would there be such a difference when using 1 or 2 metrics?

When user establishes connection to mysql server I want to know whether the user have privileges like root (i.e. GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON . TO 'username'@'%' WITH GRANT OPTION).The 'SHOW GRANTS FOR CURRENT_USER' query gives grants for current user, but i need to parse the string and compare to know whether the current user have privileges like root.
