  • A Safe Way to Allow Upload of All File Types?

    By default WordPress restricts the file types that can be uploaded to /uploads using the default Media Manager. I know it is possible to manually extend the allowed file types. I also know it is possible to change functions.php to allow ALL file types to be uploaded. This restriction obviously exists for security concerns - e.g. someone could upload a harmful .exe Would it not be possible to allow secure upload of all filetypes by setting the permissions of the /uploads directory to prevent execution of any of its contents? Thus it wouldn't matter if someone uploaded a harmful file because it would not be executable on the server...

  • Transient mysqlcheck errors about "size of datafile" (file too small)

    Running mysqlcheck on a live database is giving me transient errors like this one: mydatabase.mytable error : Size of datafile is: 500719688 Should be: 501000484 error : Corrupt When I run the command again or check the table one-off using mysql, it's listed as OK. Is this just a side effect of running checks on live tables? Is it possible that data is not flushed, hence the strange discrepancy? We moved several databases this morning by shutting down mysqld on the source and rsyncing files across to the new server, but these are all MyISAM tables so I don't believe the two things are related. (But I mention it just in case.)

    I installed Windows 7 over the top of XP and it left me with a 'Windows.old' folder. I tried to delete it, and it got rid of everything except 2 files named: ???????????p????????? ???????????p????????? From what I see on Google this has happened to others before. Apparently nothing short of booting up with Linux will solve this??

    I'm developing a music site which will stream audio files stored in a server to users, audio files will be played through flash player placed in a webpage.. As I heard I need to use a streaming media server for streaming audio files ( like 2mb to 3mb in size).. Do I need to use one? I found some streaming media server softwares like http://www.icecast.org - but as in their documentation, It is used for streaming radio stations and live streaming purposes, but I just need to stream audio files faster and in low size (low bandwidth) with good quality.. I heard I need to encode the audio files first and then send them to listeners and in their end audio files need to be decoded again. Is that true? How can I do that? if I need to use a special web server, where should I host my files? Any good hosting providers? if I host audio files in a normal web server, they will use HTTP or TCP to deliver my audio files to users/ listners but I found that HTTP and TCP are not good ways to use for multi media purposes like streaming audio and video files, and they are used for delivering HTML and stuff. I found I should use RSTP or UDP for streaming audio files.. What should I use? I know that .MP3 files has much better quality than the other formats but it also gives huge size to the audio files.. which format should I use for audio files? Most of the best quality audio files are more than 7mb so I'm planning to convert them my self using a software so I could get low size files with some level of good quality. If I'm converting my audio files what is the good BITRATE I should use for my files? Any known best softwares for converting audio files while keeping quality in a good level?   • PHP - file uploads and ways to prevent viruses from being uploaded in zip/rar archives

    I am trying to provide a service on my website to allow users to upload files so others can download them. The issue is, since some of these files I will allow to upload will be .zip/.rar files, I am curious as to what ideas exist to help prevent the uploading of archives with Viruses/trojans etc. included. Some .zip files will include legitimate .exe files,though I am not sure what options I have. I thought about it and I don't have a method for verifying with a virus scanner on the server, since I am on shared hosting w/o the option to run a service like that... nor do I have the knowledge on how to do that. I am also aware there is no php class or database to scan the files for viruses. This means, my only options are to rely on: a). manual approval <-- not an acceptable option for me as it might become a busy site with thousands of uploads b). get the users to somehow point out it if has viruses through voting or "flagging", etc.... anyway, regarding "b" - what ideas would you suggest?

  • Including an embedded framework using a cross-project-reference: Header no such file or directory

    I'm trying to create a Cocoa framework by using a cross-project reference in Xcode. I have 2 projects: one for the framework; one for the application that will use the framework. This framework is not intended to be stored within the system; it is an embedded framework that lives within the application bundle. I have successfully made the cross-project reference, marked the framework as being a dependency of my target, added a Copy Files build phase that puts the framework in Contents/Frameworks/ and added the framework to the linker phase (I checked the little "Target" checkbox; I've also done it manually by dragging the framework into the linker phase). My framework's install directory is correctly set to @executable_path/../Frameworks. However, when I try to build my app it: a) Correctly builds the framework first b) Correctly copies the framework c) Errors because it cannot find the master header file in my framework I have verified that the header is there. I can see it in the app product that is partially built. ls build/Debug/CioccolataTest.webapp/Contents/Frameworks/Cioccolata.framework/Headers/Cioccolata.h build/Debug/CioccolataTest.webapp/Contents/Frameworks/Cioccolata.framework/Headers/Cioccolata.h I have been able to successfully build the app by copying my framework into /Library/Frameworks (I can then delete it again after the successful build), but this is a workaround, I'm looking to find it out why Xcode doesn't find the framework's master header file without it being copied to a system directory. Is copying it to the app bundle during the build not sufficient?     I have a project built in eclipse with a dependencies on 3rd party jars. I'm trying to generate a suitable build file for ant - using eclipses built-in export-ant buildfile feature as a starting block. When I run the build target I get the following error: [javac] error: error reading     I am hosting a web application which uses OLEDB 12 to read an Excel file, but getting the error "'Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0' provider is not registered on the local machine". Wonder if I should use lower version of OLEDB or Azure does not support OLEDB services at all. Before rewriting the program, just wanted to see if anyone knows a better alternative.     Hi I am using a very simple JavaFx client to upload files. I read the file in chunks of 1 MB (using Byte Buffer) and upload using multi part POST to a PHP script. I want to update the progress bar of my client to show progress after each chunk is uploaded. The calculations for upload progress look correct but the progress bar is not updated. I am using bind keyword. I am no JavaFx expert and I am hoping some one can point out my mistake.     I need to get a XML File into a Database. Thats not the problem. Cant read it, parse it and create some Objects to map to the DB. Problem is, that sometimes the XML File can contain namespaces and sometimes not. Furtermore sometimes there is no namespace defined at all. So what i first got was something like this: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <struct xmlns:b="http://www.w3schools.com/test/"> <objects> <object> <node_1>value1</node_1> <node_2>value2</node_2> <node_3 iso_land="AFG"/> <coords lat="12.00" long="13.00"/> </object> </objects> </struct> And the parsing: $t = $xml->xpath('/objects/object'); foreach($nodes AS $node) { if($t[0]->$node) { $obj->$node = (string) $t[0]->$node; } } Thats fine as long as there are no namespaces. I want to load XML files with the same ease of loading art assets: content = new ContentManager(Services); content.RootDirectory = "Content"; background = content.Load<Texture2D>("images\\ice"); I'm not sure how to do this. This tutorial seems helpful, but how do I get a StorageDevice instance?
